Very big store. Perfect place to do all your asian shopping plus more!!

Honestly, I LOVE this place. I drove 45 minutes to get here at least once a month, and then an hour back. So why dont I give it five stars? Simple... Its a bit rundown and worn around the edges. Also, some of the customer service reps are not super friendly... They are just average when it comes to customer service... But I think thats more of a cultural barrier thing than a personality thing. Everyone that works here seems to be either Korean or Hispanic and I am neither. Their usual customers seem to be Korean, so they kind of look at me like what are you doing here? Do you even know what kimchi is?. A customer behind me once was actually shocked to see that I had picked up a big tin of kimchi and she asked me if I liked it. I wanted to laugh. Im a K-drama super fan (and probably a Korean who betrayed my country in a previous life and thus got banished to another country in this life - lol) so I LOVE Korean food.If you are looking for a Korean grocery store, this place has everything youd want. They also have about six Asian restaurants inside cooking Korean friendly food. I met one of the kimchi vendors that delivers their kimchi here and the kimchi is super fresh and excellent. They also have daikon radishes, tteokobokki (dont know if I spelled that right), those little animal shaped pancakes stuffed with red beans to custard, and even Korean corn dogs (which are AWESOME!!!). If you just want to satisfy your K-drama fix, they also have little Korean shops with face masks, posters of the bands, ginseng... Pretty much anything youd see in a drama. They even have a Hanbok store and I think I saw a shop selling Korean beds if I remember right.Anyway, perfect place for anything Korean youd want. Id give them five stars totally if they just gave the place a face lift. Worth the drive 100%.

Love this store. Huge variety of fruits and vegetables you cant find in the American stores. Always great quality. Massive selection of seafood fresh & frozen. Large selection of meats. Its a large store in general providing Asian groceries. It also hold small stores from clothing, bakery, etc...

Great Asian marketplace! This is a well spaced and organized grocery store. I always enjoy visiting here. They have almost all Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, Indian) products/brands. Currently due to Covid some parts of the store look a little deserted (stands and store booths are closed) but the produce, meat and seafood areas are well stocked.

Great place to shop for your Asian Pacific regional foods. Fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood delivered daily, meats butchered in house. Prices are a tad expensive on some items. But theyre imported. Overall, fantastic place to shop for Asian Pacific foods and needs.

One of the most popular Asian grocery in Illinois. well in matter fact, in Midwestern. Fresh vegetables, exotic fruits, fish, meat, etc... of course many selections of Asian grocery items. Look for big sales during the holiday.

What happened to ASSI? Used to be very clean. Now it looks like a tornado came and messed up the place. The floors are wet and slippery, the meats look old stock and unsold. I use to love shopping here.

Mostly cheaper than H- Mart, esp. for Vegetarian Dumplings, which are plentiful here in ASSI.... Great for Vegetarians.

This market is so cool. When you walk through the doors you soon realize this building is set up like a mall, not a grocery store. They have everything here from produce to fresh fish to nonparishables to makeup. This was my first time here and I will definitely be going back. Their fish market is really impressive.

Mainly come to Assi for the food court. Restaurants serving hot tofu soup and korean fried chicken are my favorite. Hard to beat food court prices for a quick, delicious meal on the go. Boneless KFC at what a dumpling is to die for!

We had chicken here in one of the stalls at the food court, and oh my god it was amazing. I definitely will come back to get it, just thinking about it makes me hungry again!I also need to try their bulgogi pizza from there too

For me this is is a One-Stop shop, its great, I get to pick up freshly made lunch, I get to pick up fresh vegetables, complete with 101 different sauces and spices to make my own broth, and they also have a great little Korean pastry shop that has some unique delicious desserts--- also Binnys liquors is just around the corner!

This place is incredibly authentic and has great prices! It is definitely worth a visit. It has a mini mall inside which is pretty neat! It is open till late, but if its your first time visiting, I recommend doing so during the day while the mini mall is open. Its about an hour away ftm my house, but its totally worth the trip for the experience. I will be visiting again very soon!

Hurray for a decent Korean food court with their famed friend chicken, street food, delicious soup, kimbap, bulbogi, and more! I love how Assis Plaza have a variety of Korean food, which is the closest to Korea I have gone to and makes me long to actually visit Korea one day. The street food stall is unique, as most Korean restaurant serves the usual meals but not the snacks that you see and drool over in the Korean dramas!Today we tried two things at the food court.1. The sweet & spicy chicken was absolutely delicious! It is not to spicy at all, even my daughters 5 & 2 could eat it. In saying that, I aint complaining as the taste was amazing. The chicken was also deep fried to excellence, crispy skin and juicy meat! I was on a diet until the chicken came out *_*2. We tried the toppoki, popular street food in Korea. They are spicy, slightly sweet and chewy rice cakes, with two eggs along with it for $6.99. I like the taste, But am not a huge fan of it. It was an interesting experience.The plaza also has a huge grocery market with the usuals you find at H-Mart. However, there are more food/snacks you can buy in the supermarket and what got me really excited was the sushi! These must be the most value for money and tasty sushi I had in Chicago. $7.99 for salmon sushi! Really generous in portion too. I am soooooo going to be a regualar at Assi plaza from now on, especially for the choices of Korean food here.

The parking lot is very large, the variety is very many, the price is reasonable.

Bought a unagi sauce here and it was not sealed.they are supposed to be sealed. I didn’t check until I gotHome Because I don’t think to worry. I contacted them and they didn’t even care I threw it out and they didn’t even offer to help. Wasted money and service isn’t good. I will be sure to go to Hmart from now on only.

Selling fish and meat that was way overdue. Fish was borderline rotten and the meat that was being sold on 07/10/2021 was marked as expired on 07/06/2021. Terrible market.

Bathroom floor was wet and there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls. Obviously this place doesnt clean properly. Ill drive the extra 15 minutes to go to Super Hmart.

I love this place. If you enjoy Asian cooking or fresh seafood, this place has everything. I live in eastern Wisconsin and it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes for us to drive there, but so worth it.

Huge with numerous stores in the store! Phenomenal food selections. You really need to have about 4 hours to explore it.

Korean corn dogs are the only reason I went. We got some boba tea while there as well. Not as clean of a place as I would want for a shopping center. But your not going to find Korean corn dogs easily and this place had them.

WAYYY too overpriced, things not fresh, customer service rude, yes I agree go to Hmart if you want expedience, service, and quality. Go to Walmart or target down the street for regular things the prices are crazy here.

The staff are nice and helped me search for my salted fish. I found red horse beer which other stores dont carry in stock :) They even have Culantro leaves. Their produce and meat are pack nice and clean. Plus reasonable price. Definitely come back to shop again when I am in town.

Great place to grab a variety of asian ingredients and foods for a fairly great price.They tend to be low in terms of stock but that might be because of a decrease in customer numbers. Overall, love this place and possibly more, if not equally, as hmart.

Very authentic Asian marketplace! My parents are from the Philippines, and Im a first-generation immigrant as a result. Going to Assi feels like going to any grocery store in the Philippines. I can find all my favorite snacks and some of our obscure filipino seasonings and sauces. Ive also come here to get some sushi-grade fish and necessary ingredients for homemade sushi! Its one of the few places I found Mirin. Would recommend for anyone doing asian grocery shopping.

They don’t accept Google or Apple pay. I also got catcalled by one of the employees at the seafood section and they need to work on customer service.This store looks like it was built in the 90s and has never been renovated. Very dim lightings and smells bad.

Excellent Korean place. You can find almost everything you need in korea, but the price a bit expensive.

Be aware that, even though the store hours claim to be until 9:30 pm, they will close down the registers at 9:15 pm, and ask you to leave at that moment. So, dont go in 20 minutes before closing expecting to be able to shop, since after 5 minutes inside the store, youll be unable to continue and pay for your shopping.

It was very convenient for me to shop here since they have food from almost every Asian country. Yes, language barrier does become a problem for non-korean speakers but they are generally very nice. And the food court is always a plus.

When they figure out. Go to customs Service. Pay that is. Fine. And. I want bathroom I come. Back. To customs. Service. She. Still doesnt know. Price is that 22 inches pan I just give up. I dont buy. Pan and. I left I dont think. They want businesses. Theres is no organization plus. Customer. Lady. Is. She. Doesnt. Care.

For south Korean, Chinese, Thai, and Japanese foods. One stop shop. The variety of veggies is unparalleled. Seafood variety is great! Plus its fun for the kids.

Home goods section was lacking in variety and organization but the grocery selection was choice.

By far my favorite Asian grocery store in the area. I love that they open at 8:30 am so I can get my shopping done right after morning drop off for my oldest. There are decent sales each week and the meat here taste great. The food court here has a good variety. I often take advantage of their shopping perk when purchasing over $50. New sales week starts on Fridays.

Highly recommend their vegetables and fish/seafood because theyre really affordable yet very fresh. I also love that they carry a lot of Asian food/condiments/items.

I live near Naperville and it takes 50 minutes to go to Assi plaza, but when the Hmart price os too high, selections are too small, and too many Japanese goods, showing that theyre Japan friendly, Pro-Japanese, Betrayed of Korea, I rather drive to Assi plaza. They have more choices and easy to go more Korean stores too. But often the customer service & housewares people were unkind. A man said that I come only when the Houseware assistant is there ! P... How do I know when the assistant is there ? The man said call first to know the schedule !!! How outdated his mind is !!! And one day, I broke the expensive imported DoenJang= soybean paste from JeonRaDo, when I was carrying it in thw grocery bag. I found a rip of the bag, so I called, then a woman was arguing with me as if I am lying? So for half a year, I didnt go here. I wish theyre mpre professional !

Weekends are suggested so you can explore the various product tastings throughout the store. It also has other shops and a food court inside. I frequently drive the hour to shop here.

We are not from the area but we stop by here each time we are in town to stock up on groceries or for a quick bite to go.The food court has a good selection of Korean/Japanese/Chinese style foods.Seems clean and well maintained and staff is friendly and helpful.

Great panasian market. Great offerings from a variety of different countries. Good quality and selection of produce as well. Small food court that offers excellent priced Asian food (theres a Korean stall, a Chinese stall, a Korean fried chicken stall, and two more I cant recall exactly) highly recommend

They need more cashiers. While the selection is okay, the opportunity for improvement is getting customers on their way quickly. Its not uncommon to see lines of people waiting to checkout, with only 2 or 3 cashiers. Assi Plaza, you can do better!!

Today fish department no good

This place is great but, they are missing quite of few things that other markets have. For a guy who lives on his own is always looking to buy banchan which Assi is lacking from spicy crab, spicy chicken wings, spicy squid, bean pancakes, are just to name a few. Hopefully they step it up and provide these things so they can take more of money.
