As a single female I dont always trust the diagnosis. These guys bring the problems to you to view yourself and educate you. They are truly wonderful and get all my business. Always my least expensive option of the 3 I always call for estimate. Highly recommend.

I was sure I needed a catalytic converter. The guy came out and plugged in to the check engine light. Said I had to have a three hundred fifty dollar tune up before he could tell if it needed a converter. Took it to another shop. The guy started it and said, yes I can here your converter rattle, its bad. Replaced it and runs great.

Our Ford Escape decided not to start in the morning, and this wasnt a great start to by super busy day. Did a quick Google search of nearest auto repair shops and found Affordable Brake & Muffler. They got me right in, no wait, and fixed it in a very timely manner. Saved me a lot of time in what I thought was going to be a lost day of getting my car fixed. Not to mention they were extremely friendly. Had a great conversation with Don as my car was being fixed, and greatly appreciate their hospitality and service!

Very professional. Extremely knowledgeable. Had my brakes pads. Rotors. A tire patch and some info on a cat. Price was extremely reasonable and Ill recommend to anyone who needs tire, engine, muffler or brake work!

I went here to have my muffler fixed. On a Sunday, I noticed a loud sound coming from my car and my uncle looked at it and the muffler had rusted and had a hole in it. I called Affordable Brake & Muffler the next day on a Monday and they told me to come whenever I can. I got there around 1:30-2pm and they immediately put my car on the lift. They were honest and told me I didnt need a whole new muffler, which is what I was worried about. They just welded a sleeve onto my muffler and now it is fixed! After looking at my car on the lift, they told me they could fix it right then, but I was on my lunch break and couldnt wait 30-40 minutes for them to fix my car. The nice man at the front desk offered to take me back to work so I could get my car fixed! I thought it was a very generous offer so Im giving a 5 star rating for honesty, generosity, and the low price!

Always good work, affordable and done right

We stopped in Nixa for lunch on way home from family vacation, heard some grinding in front passenger wheel well. I looked up nearby places and called Affordable based on reviews and explained what I was hearing. Don said he was down to one mechanic for the day but could get us in first thing on Monday. I said we were from out of town so ideally Id like it taken care of within the day or next day so I thanked him and continued calling places, all of which were booked (It was 1 on a Friday, after all). While calling other places I received 2 missed calls, so I called the number back--it was Don from Affordable. He said he could move some things around and get us in today, potentially on the road same day, too, if they could get the parts. He said, I know how stressful it is being from out of town and having car trouble. From the time I called Don back, to the time we were back on the road took a mere 2 hours. Turns out we were riding metal-to-metal on front passenger brake. Don had new pads and rotors delivered for both front wheels within minutes after arriving (as they partner with local AutoZone). There was one job ahead of us, so my wife, toddler, and dog--we all waited inside and talked with Don, who was very friendly. Austin had us back on the road by 3 for a very reasonable $249 (labor and both front rotors and pads). Don and Austin turned what could have been a VERY stressful incident to quick and easy and well-done brake work. They could have taken advantage of our situation, but instead went out of their way to make it pleasant and affordable. Thank you so much, Don and Austin.

So I’m from Kansas City and I was looking to purchase a car through a private seller. I really wanted to take the car to a mechanic but wasn’t sure where to go. I’m a big fan of reading reviews and I saw there were a lot of positive things to say from Google Reviews. Anyways, all I can say is wow, I wish Steve lived in KC! He was very honest and showed me everything about the car I was looking at. Normally a mechanic would just give you a written document of what he thought but again, Steve went the extra mile and personally showed me and explained everything to me. I’m not sure if it’s normal but we even did a test drive together to discuss further. Hands down a real honest mechanic. He’ll tell you exactly what he thinks…there’s a reason why he’s the boss. A++ experience! Maybe Ill make that 3hr drive to visit....

The people who work here, Steve, Don, and Austin, are all great guys. They are funny when you get the chance to talk with them, and they are hard workers and they know what theyre doing. They are always willing to work with people. They will outline for you the best way to get your issue fixed and go down the options to the cheapest safe way to get it fixed and they will do what you ask. Their prices are more than fair and they never over charge for parts and their labor cost is lower than most of the local competition. And to top it all off, they are willing to do some custom work, and they have all the right tools in their shop to do the job correctly and get your car fixed correctly the first time. When your car is finished, they will tell you how it went, any complications they had and any things they think you need to watch or might need to address in the future.

Have had repairs done on all of my vehicles here and appreciate the honesty and quality of repair.

Always receive good and flexible service here. It was recommended by my friend Dean, and they have fixed wheel bearings, brakes, and numerous other things for me without any complaints. Prices are fair, and have had no problems either getting safety inspections done here either.

Was looking for a local mechanic for my family’s vehicles since moving to Nixa and found this little gem of an auto shop through talking with co workers. So refreshing to find honest people who are willing to take the time to explain things and offer options to someone like me who doesn’t have the largest budget to work with! They did the work in the amount of time they estimated(truth be told sooner) and they were in communication with me throughout the process to make sure that I knew what was going on. As you can tell from this post, I talk a lot and they didn’t seem to mind that too much either lol! Would give them 10 stars if google would let me! Got one star because I had to put one up there. Got there ate my 2pm appointment on time. Waited 15 mins to give my key to someone. Went home, mowed the lawn and came back at 3pm. Car had not moved from the parking spot I left it and my key was sitting on the front counter still. I grabbed my key and walked out. As anyone else could have. Ridiculous.

Expensive, had my cats stolen, 1600$ to replace, which is normal but my truck is only worth about 3k, 2020 has been rough guys

I bring all (7) of my vehicles here for repair. It took a long time for me to find a good straight shooting local mechanic.

Know someone who took their vehicle into this shop - was quoted $200 for repairs. Returned later and was handed a $400+ bill including repairs never authorized. Part of those repairs included parts that were just changed recently (by a reputable mechanic) so he asked to see the old parts (proving they didnt need changed) and was told Sorry, we threw them away! Crooks & Liars here - Shoppers BEWARE!

I asked the guys at NAPA where I should get my car fixed in Nixa. They told me there was only one place they would ever take their vehicle in Nixa- Affordable Brake and Muffler.Steve and Don are great guys. Incredibly honest. My bill usually comes out less than they originally suggest- unheard of for that to happen with Mechanics.These guys are honest, hard working and know their stuff. This is the only place I take my vehicles for repairs.

Had to get some exhaust work done in they got me right in. They was a lot cheaper then everywhere else, did a great job, and very friendly. I would be sending more work to this shop as needed.

This guy is a crook! I went to get a vehicle inspection. He got me by failing the inspection for rust on the rear rotors. He fixed that and then the serpentine belt was bad which it was. I had a belt i bought from Oriellys for $25. This guy Said it would not fit and had to order one from Napa jacking my bill up another $49 for the belt. I never got to see the difference in the belts and seriously doubt there is any. Well, after my $298 inspection my car bogs and tried to die when I turn a corner. Guess who I will not bring it to......Update! he is worse that originally thought. Turns out the car bogging when turning the wheel was an act of sabotage. He had attached the emergency brake line to the steering column so when we turned left it would activate the emergency brake. Avoid this guy at all costs!
