I loved coming here this past week. The atmosphere/aesthetic that you receive right when you walk in the door is super chill and sort of eco-friendly/urban. I bring this up because the other rock climbing places I’ve been to don’t have this kind of vibe going for it. But enough about the vibe this place offers, the staff here were super friendly and my overall experience here was extremely decent. I highly recommend this business to anyone who wants to add a little variety to their lives.
I know this isn’t just a “kid place,” however, this was my experience as a parent looking for stuff to do with my 9 and 7 year old. This was my first time here or at any rock climbing anything for that matter. Wanted to find a place to take my kids that would challenge them physically and help cultivate some body confidence. This place is incredible. I called ahead and Alexus was so understanding of my vague confusion and questions, and we headed straight over. I wish I could remember the gentleman’s name who checked us in when we got there, but he was great too and sold me socks when my mom brain forgot ours at home.Alexus toured the facility with us, explained all the rules, showed my kids how to fall safely, and we were all set. We spent 2 hours here and I had to bribe my kids with food to get them to leave. We’ll be back. Great place, amazing staff, fantastic music, and very reasonably priced. An absolute gem.
While the physical quality of the gym is pretty immaculate and there are tons of route options, Ive been incredibly disappointed in the customer service at this gym (VB location). My worst experience was back in March/February when I was lowering someone on top rope. An employee (older white male, dark hair and facial hair) screamed at me in front of a group of people when I lowered him down. He wasnt close to decking but the manager screamed at me unprofessionally saying there was never an excuse to lower that fast, and youre lucky I dont make you retake your belay test. I understand as a certified guide that safety is a priority in these environments but I have never screamed at nor belittled my guests in that manner, especially with an audience. Nor did the situation warrant that kind of urgency. He could have easily pulled me aside to talk privately. When I tried calling about this situation months ago I was told (over phone) it could only be communicated about via email, which most of us dont have time for.In addition Ive overheard employees making fun of guests in the womens restroom, have had employees disagree over who needed to help the next customer while I waited, and was still charged for my membership despite requesting my account to freeze after April when I started my membership. I was also denied a full refund because there was no documentation of a freeze request. The facilities are well-maintained and it is a beautiful gym but overall customer experience is not prioritized as it should be.
Easily one of the best climbing gyms. The bouldering courses are well thought out and challenging in various ways. Good for beginners through experts. Everyone is always very friendly. They also have lifting and gym equipment as well as a ping pong table
HIIT with Hayley was a great way for me to start my Sunday! I was ClassPass-ing here from out of town but was welcomed so happily -- I absolutely loved the energy and enthusiasm from everyone in the class! Everyone was really supportive and encouraging to each other and it made me confident enough to go at my own pace. If youre on ClassPass from another city, Id HIGHLY recommend going here for a good workout AND the credit cost is super cheap!
This is hands down the best gym around. The gym is clean, open, well lit and has a great variety of workout options. The bouldering area is super fun and has challenges for all levels of ability and they add new routes regularly. The staff are second to none. Always super nice, welcoming, helpful and positive. You won’t find a better place to work on yourself.
Our group had a fantastic evening touring this facility. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. We were able to do some bouldering and slack line fun. They also have HIT training and Yoga included in their memberships. I would highly recommend going to meet Marisa and her team!
This is the best gym I have been to! The rock climbing is so much fun and the mats are very safe and comfortable to fall on. The instructors from yoga, to HIIT classes, to rock climbing have all been extremely knowledgeable and friendly! I highly recommend this place!
I always love my visit here! Such a great vibe and a wonderful friendly community 😃 plenty of routes no matter the skill level!
Our Boy Scout Troop had a GREAT time! Johnny & John provided excellent instruction, guidance and support. Highly recommend!
Great gym atmosphere and employees are very helpful and chill. Even on busy days you do not feel cramped while climbing. Always look forward to when I can go and climb with them, if only they were closer to Yorktown, VA. Highly Recommend!!
This is a great gym! Has all the free weight equipment you need for most work outs, yoga is included with memberships and day passes, and the bouldering area is reasonably big and updated really often. Offers routes for all skill levels, and the community is great
Love Latitude! Great yoga and HIIT classes as well as amazing bouldering. The team couldnt be friendlier, especially Johny and they make it feel like a fun hangout spot not just another gym.
Clean safe environment. Great friendly knowledgable staff. So much fun.
Going here you will get a good workout in no matter what, or if you just want to hangout you can do that too. Tons of fun climbing for either experienced climbers or first timers, there is something for everyone. This would be perfect for a first date with that special someone or if you and the family want to go out I suggest going here. You can all be together and still have enough room to get away from that annoying cousin you cant stand. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to come try out Latitude climbing... you just might find that new hobby youve been looking for!
First time bouldering since I was 8. Approachable setup filled w/super helpful staff. Everyone there was warm and supportive of people learning. Layout is awesome. From basics to insane you’ll find something to test yourself. Noticed they clean the routes at night, and I can appreciate the effort to keep it sanitary. Prices great. $19 and you’re set. The experience is great. New regular here! Check it out!
Love going here, great people and its a lot of fun
Great environment. Clean facility, bright and open. Very professional staff. We were guests of a childs climbing birthday. Staff were attentive to safety of the kids, nice room to hold the cake, presents, etc. Cant wait for the Virginia Beach location to open.
This place was absolutely incredible! My wife and I were looking to switch things up for date night and decided to give Latitude a go. Neither of us are experienced climbers by any stretch of the imagination, but this was hands down one of the best dates we have ever had! The facility is modern, clean, and inviting. Everyone was super friendly and didnt make us feel uncomfortable even though we clearly lacked experience compared to the others working out. 10/10 would recommend this place to others! Most likely going to be getting a couples membership in the future. If youre looking for a new workout that is humbling and challenging both mentally and physically, head to Latitude! You wont regret it.
Super friendly staff, clean establishment, great place for fun climbing!
Best climbing gym in hampton roads! Awesome training area and bouldering suite. The yoga and gym area are top notch as well. All of the climbers and staff members here are friendly and great to be around.
Ive been to climbing gyms all over the country and by far this was my favorite. Perfect for every skill level from never touched a wall all the way up to competition level climbing. Staff was kind and helpful. Would recommend to anyone who wants to climb.
I joined this month after taking the basics class and I am so happy here. Im new to bouldering and very afraid of heights. My instructor was incredibly helpful and understanding. She gave me great information and made me feel welcomed. All of the staff I have interacted with have been kind and helpful and I always look forward to going in.
Awesome place to come climb! Great exercise classes as well. :)
This place is great from every aspect from the people to the climbing it’s all super good
Definitely a great place to workout and the routes are always fresh. Love this place!
Latitude Climbing is such an Awesome place for everyone!! The facility is Very Clean and I have very high standard for cleanliness. Not only is the facility top notch clean but it has a stunning combination of modern and industrial decor! The ENTIRE staff is AMAZING! They are so friendly, accommodating and helpful. It’s so nice to see familiar faces and meet new staff when we go. The rock climbing gym is CRAZY FUN for all ages and skill levels. You feel so accomplished when you reach the top. You get a great workout, but you don’t realize it because you’re having a blast. You could spend hours there with all of the activities they offer such as ping pong, foose ball and video games. After climbing my kids can’t leave without playing a ping pong match. I’ve had both of my children’s birthday parties there within the same year. My family and friends were so excited climb and celebrate. On a scale of 1-10, Latitude Climbing gets a 100 from me!! I love this place and you will too!!
Dont usually give ratings but because its new and a small business I thought Id share. Its a great establishment. The staff are all so awesome and friendly. The community is great, met many good friends. And the bouldering is awesome. Definitely recommend both as a day trip just to try, or as a member to continue to come back.
Lovely space, semi-affordable, a bunch of classes for free and close to me
Great, nice people, hard boulders. Will return.
Absolutely the best place to climb!I started climbing earlier this year in Knoxville, and joined at Latitude when I moved to Hampton. The place has been great, and while it will never truly replace my Knox climbing center, I’ve gotten really attached to the place in the short month I’ve lived here. But tonight really made the place stick out. My car broke down in the parking lot, and I ended up waiting forever for a tow to show up. Everyone was so nice and understanding and helpful. I don’t think other gyms would be so welcoming when someone ends up waiting around for an hour with a car that won’t start.Latitude is full of great people, and it has great things to offer too. I love it.And don’t worry I go home okay.
There is always a wide variety of routes with changes every week. They also have a pretty good gym area as well as great yoga classes. Its just a great place to go for all around fitness and climbing!
HIIT workouts are always satisfying. The facilities are beautiful and always kept clean.
Oh my gosh this place is amazing the environment is chill great music, also if you have any questions about climbing just talk to the staff and they will gladly help you out. I had questions on climbing and what shoes to get and Alexis helped me out a bunch I highly recommend talking to her she is soo resourceful.
Great people, clean gym, awesome routes, amazing atmosphere. Just go try it out.
Agreed! This place was awesome!
The dude Todd with the dreads was super helpful. Very clean, modern gym with continuously updated routes and a vibrant ping pong scene.
Awesome climbing space, gym, and community hub. We climbed with our kids and they absolutely loved it!!! Amazing routes/configs to explore with lots of games (ping pong, shuffleboard, etc.) for after climbing. We will visit again!
This is my favorite place! Customer service is excellent!
Nice climate, staff very attentive.
This place is awesome first place Ive been able to really try and climb and it was alot of fun, highly recommend for a good workout if you like fun also.
Great place. More than just climbing. They have games and a great atmosphere. Took our childs birthday on short notice and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend. Awesome!
Amenities - 5 starsClimbing sets - 4 starsAmbiance/service - 5 starsParking - 5 starsComprehensive review over here if youre looking for some info.1. Amenities - Bouldering area with lots of slab and an overhung area (one big roof), bathroom with showers and lockers, yoga studio, HIIT/workout area with weights, tension board(YES!), hang boards, campus boards, a snack bar(?, seems to sell some foods?), and other gear for sale. Theres also a TV and some board games in the main living room area. Yes, there is a small area where kids can play too in the bouldering area.2. Sets - I was visiting for a few days so didnt get to climb a whole lot. From what I can see, the setting is fair. The sets do seem to be more catered towards long-limbed and tall individuals, but this is a very normal. If you are a beginner to intermediate climber (V0-6) this gym has something for you. If you are a V6+ climber, this gym has something for you, including the tension board.3. Ambiance - So good! Ive been to a lot of climbing gyms but I have yet to walk into a gym like this. The building itself has quite a few arched windows that let in natural light. The building is well-ventilated and kept very clean (note: this gym is also pretty new). The staff were very kind (shout out to the man (Tom?) with dreads who was very kind and full of info). A great place for kids and adults alike.4. Parking - I didnt have an issue finding parking and the parking lot is large enough. If there was a competition or some big event, however, I think that street-parking would be the next option. The area in general seemed to be safe.Edit: spelling
Tons of routes for all skill levels. Sweet stuff
Awesome spot, great atmosphere and very helpful friendly staff
Great selection of routes for novice-advanced climbers plus a great area for kids. My 3 year old, 6 year old, and 12 year old (and myself) all found climbing at our respective interest and ability levels. Also has a nice fotness and yoga area, and a great game area with ping pong, fooseball, and more. Very clean. I was very pleased with the facility and the staff.
Great gym in restored historic building. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful new climbing and fitness gym in Norfolk. Has everything in one spot, including bouldering, yoga, and strength training/HIIT area. I only wish it were closer.
I love this place! The place is really clean and the staff are awesome.
Great place go almost every day very friendly environment and staff this place is the best of the best. They also have all levels of climbing from v0 to v12
Amazing, state of the art, clean, versitile gym with brilliant setting diverse and ranging from great begginer selection to crazy scary crimpy routes. 11/10. Fun special events and competitions and kind welcoming people everywhere.
Such a great community of people. Very clean and very fun!
Fantastic climbing facilities and I just went for the climbing but they had just about everything I would have needed all the way to a lounge with a Nintendo 64 to a full snackbar
Not just for climbers! Ive been a HIIT member at Latitude since the summer and I LOVE the classes (yoga in addition to the HIIT training). Since the HIIT classes are only 45 minutes long, the 6 a.m. class works perfectly for my busy schedule. The trainers are fantastic at offering a variety of options for advanced/intermediate/beginner moves and my friend has managed to stay active in the class well-into her third trimester thanks to their expertise.TLDR: Great gym with customized training options for non-climbers of all fitness levels.
Amazing cold brew! Amazing staff! Literally the best in the area!
Awesome gym, not too crowded. Geared toward lean fitness to benefit climbing/bouldering.
Go here!I would say that the most glaring difference compared to other climbing gyms I’ve been to is the combination of design, cleanliness, and professionalism of the place. It is set up in the way that the routes aren’t over crowded yet allows for a sense of community within the open space. The staff is friendly and all the walls, mats, and common spaces including bathrooms are well maintained. It is somewhere I could spend a day hanging out with my friends.PS:This gym has something for everyone. The though primarily a bouldering gym it has many additional features that makes the price of membership seem almost unbelievable: Full HIIT gym with cardio, ropes, weights, etc., yoga studio, shuffle board & ping pong, snacks and coffee / kombucha. As for bouldering, they have over 5000 sq ft of climbing space, and routes that are set every six weeks or so for all levels. There is also a MoonBoard, hang boards, and a kids climbing area.
Nice variety of boulders, cool hang out areas and friendly staff!
Love this place
Excellent climbing and training enviroment.
Awesome bouldering gym!
One of a kind
Amazing staff
