I love this place. Makes me want to build something. Great customer service. Super organized and clean. Have you seen their lumber section? Ive never seen a lumber yard so clean. Yes, their prices are a bit higher but you know their sales reps are much more knowledgeable than your run of the mill hardware store. This is it for lumber, hardware and anything else youre building.

These guys are awesome. I showed up at 5:50 pm with the plan to spend the night there and unload in the morning, and they offered to unload me right then. I told them no its ok, the load was scheduled for delivery in the morning. They accepted that, but then another employee asked if i was sure i wanted o wait till the morning, i made sure it was ok with them to stay late just to help me, they said no problem and then when we were done they let me sit in the parking lot to eat my dinner and even said i could stay the night if i wanted. Huge thank you guys. I wish i got treated like this everywhere. Everyone was great, no one seemed annoyed at all.

This is where you shop if you need premium materials and professional caliber tools to do the job. The outside material loader employees are always pleasant to help you load.I would always call to see if they have the materials first before going though.

I really like this building materials company. It is where I will go for everything that I need from doors to lumber to paving blocks . They have enough people working there and you dont have to walk all over the store . They direct you where you need to go and assist you with anything you need.

In the 17 years I spent working as a carpenter for a living. I have never once ordered an 8ft piece of lumber and received something shorter than 8 ft long. That was until I ordered some material from Forrest Building materials. It appears they cut 16ft lumber in half. Some an inch or so long, some an inch or so short. If they didnt have 8ft lumber in stock, they could have just told me so and i would have cut down the 16s and they would have been alot closer to 8ft than these guys. Avoided the big box store on purpose, and this is what I get. Will not be going back.

Friendly atmosphere. Customer service is number one. Eager to help you solve your building problems and get the right materials. Huge store without the huge crowds. Dont be like the one customer that comes in and cant find what hes looking for then gets mad at us because we dont carry every single thing ever made on this planet. Be reasonable, we are. If you dont get help immediatelg ask someone. There are only 2-3 of us that work the whole floor. The big box stores have 100 employees working at one time and dont have near the customer service we provide. We actually care for our customers, their projects, and heck, we know a lot of them by name. Come on in, dont be shy and ask us for help. Thats what we do and we love it.

They have a good, large selection of products for pros. Prices are definitely on the high end, but they have several items for framers that no one else does. Would have given more stars if they would answer the phone - sometimes if you call, youre left wondering if theyre even open! Used to get lumber from them, but they still deliver old-school way… no mobile forklifts, so lumber (which is decent) shows up stacked 6 or 7 feet high on flat/dump bed trucks. Really screws the guys who have to down-stack giant piles to get to stuff on the bottom.

This is a quality establishment. They are willing to make donations and are very nice people. We have had a great experience with Forest Lumber. The guy who gave them a one star probably went in with a bad attitude.

So after calling this place and dealing with a rude employee i went ahead and went to their location because they had the material i needed. Ive been shopping around for it and found the appropriate sizes there. I showed up and the guy at the counter sent me to the warehouse in the back before giving me a price. I had to wait 20 min for someone to come to the warehouse to pre load the material. Again he didnt know the price as well. I fugured after my lengthy search and wait oh well, being a lumber yard and not a department store it should be decently priced. Drove back to the front and went in the store for the hardware needed for instalation, i still couldnt get a straight answer. Again same rude man at desk. I found my hardware came back to the counter for check out. The rude employee then handed off the material and hardware to the next man saying he could take care of me. Then i was told the material i grabbed price and it was well over the price that home depot and lowes price. I couldnt believe it. Same brand and all. I explained this to the guy at the counter. He said yeah ice been sending people there, we know they sell it cheaper. Wow. I wasted over an hour at this place. Didnt get what i came for, only terrible customer sevice and redurection. Needless to say i went on down the road and saved myself 50$. I wouldnt recomened this bussiness to anyone based on the sevice alone. I may have paid the price had i not felt that these guys didnt care for customers. I am a contractor and use many other suppliers, this one was local and thought id give em a shot. They wont get any of my bussiness

There is an excellent selection of lumber here, competitive prices, and a staff that is magnitudes better than the other big box home improvement joints in terms of knowledge and willingness to help.
