Great local music store. Ive Been going here since I was a kid. I still stop by for strings or cables when Im in the area. They do a great job of setting up guitars.

Absolutely great. Went for the first time and they gave me a discount and the staff was incredibly friendly. Its truly a shame they are closing soon as they are far better then any chain.

Friendly, knowledgeable, honest folks who love guitars and remember their customers. In other words, just what you would hope for from a local shop. They are getting away from retail (except strings and accessories and such) to focus on the service/repair side. So get your guitar at the big box if you want, but take it over to Larry at NMC to set up. You will know you are getting care and personalized attention.

I HotRodded a SuperStrat with a lot of mods and aftermarket parts. When finished it was way out of playability. This shop has the only PLEK machine that I know of in Oklahoma. If you dont know what a PLEK machine is, google it. There is no way I could have made this guitar this playable.

Well I will be honest with you Ive always stayed away from this place because I thought there prices were a little bit too high. I went to campus TV instead. Joe died And I havent had a real permanent place that could replace him to be honest with you. Until now Ive been going there a lot lately and their prices really arent too bad but I think theyve gone down a little bit as far as the prices go and I am afraid that they might be going under because of covid. Which is sad because their local business and Id like to support local businesses. And also because I just found out that they carry my strings And they are the only store that does in town, even guitar center doesnt carry my strings. I looked everywhere in town for an AB switch and this is where I found it and it was actually decently priced and I also bought a slide there that Ive never seen anywhere else that totally rocks. I hope you guys are doing OK and that you get to stay in business a little longer.

This is our second experience with Norman Music Center, and we couldnt be more pleased. My daughter wanted to switch over from piano to bass guitar, but hasnt ever even held a bass. We went into the shop today and the staff were patient with us, explaining everything and helping us find the perfect setup for her.Shes thrilled, Im thankful, and Norman Music has fans for life! I brought in a brand new Squier guitar to be set up. The low E and A strings were buzzing. I was told it would take a couple days. It took eleven days, and now all the strings are lightly buzzing, though the low ones not as much as before. He also said the guitar was “unplayable” when he got it, but that is not correct; it sounded good except for those two strings and scratchy frets. Aside from the frets bring polished, it’s in worse shape now than when I brought it in. I was treated like I had no idea what a guitar is supposed to sound like. Very disappointed.

Took my favorite guitar there to get it PLEKd. Plays amazingly well now. Well worth the money.

We always get our speakers and equipment from Norman Music Center. They have always been so helpful and matched prices we found elsewhere. When our speaker broke outside of warranty, they contacted the company and replaced our speaker for no charge. Great customer service! Bought a guitar from them online. Though it was pictured without a tremolo bar and I said I would be happy acquiring one on my own, they insisted on completing my guitar. None of the ones they had on hand worked with the left-handed bridge, so they ordered it from the manufacturer and shipped it separately. They also Plekd the guitar before shipping and educated me on what that meant for my setup. Super experience!

This was after we tried guitar center where it would take more than a day, the guitar center guy said to not take it to any localplaces because it could take up to a few weeks...haha wow! The people seemed nice enough. MUCH nicer than the stuck up people at Gilliam music. Here they actually WANT you try out instruments. At Gilliam they give you an evil look if you so much as get close to one. Especially if you dont look like a musician. Any of my friends will tell you the same. Any who this is not a review of Gilliam. The reason I am giving them 2 stars is because I bought a $550 dollar guitar from them and after a week the selector switch stopped picking up the bridge pick up. I took it to them to fix it since, Oh you know a half grand guitar should not break in the first week of ownership. Well they kept it for 2 weeks ( 2 weeks to change a switch?) and when I got it back the guitar had not been repaired. I would give one star but they did seem pretty friendly. I wont shop here again and will tell others not to as well. Their prices are kind of expensive but I wanted to support a local business and it bit me in the butt and my wallet.

The staff are quick to solve problems with instruments as well as help students meet deadlines. Horrible customer service. I went in to buy a violin and they were busy. I waited my turn and asked for help. When I was ignored I said that if I didnt get help I was leaving. They responded with well bye then. I asked to speak to a manager but they said they didnt have one. When I asked who the owner was the man said his grandparents were. This place does not deserve your business. Go somewhere else.I went to Gilliam music and was treated well and I was able to buy a violin.

Excellent instrument repair and tune-up. If you are a guitarist, you MUST have them setup your axe and level the frets using the plek machine.

I dont give 5🌟 easily. You need to earn it. This is a local bygone music store. They ignored my ADHD son who played every instrument even though he cant play a tune. We took in a crappy pawnshop acoustic guitar that my son had no clue to play to get restringed and tuned. The employee did that and more. He encouraged this ragged out guitar by rubbing lemon oil on it. Then he played some tunes and made me a believer this guitar still had life. Then he showed my son some tricks and gave him a free lesson. He didnt have to, he just did it.

Took my 95 PRS Custom 24 that was in serious need of some fret work, notes would choke when bending. I researched and saw they were the only place in Oklahoma that has a Plek machine, had to drive over 2 hours to get to their shop then make the same drive back home but it was so worth it. Had it back in my hands in a couple of days. Havent put the guitar down. They did a great set up job and the Plek machine is truly worth it. Will definitely take my Tele to them in the future to get Plekd as well. Thanks guys!

My positive experience was with instrument repair. I got great service from the moment I walked in. The employee talked to me and walked through what I needed fixed on my trumpet. I went in on a Saturday and was estimated completion by the following Saturday. I got a call on Monday (2 days after I dropped it off) letting me know that it was ready to be picked up.When I picked it up, it was better than I had hoped for. It was fixed, cleaned, and at a very reasonable price. This may not be the largest store in the OKC metro, but their service and price is what will keep me coming back.
