Best meat around. Its meat heaven. The marinated steak tips and other meats are delicious. Wonderful fresh cuts of steaks and meats.

Great place for grocery shopping and getting your meat supplies. The only reason that I am not giving them a five star is the store hours. They close at 7pm which is a bit early wish they would extend the hours to 8pm at least.

They have good meat, I used to order meat packages years ago. Honestly they care nothing about there employees, they dont respect or appreciate them. Longtime employees like my son get no respect, appreciation or even consideration. I called, which ive only done because his sister had a beautiful baby girl. I asked if he could leave early because ive got my 3 grandsons here, 2 of which cannot go in to see the baby. My oldest grandsons sister is here and he wants to see her and I really needed his uncle to watch them. My granddaughter was born in Boston and visiting hours are from 2 to 8pm. His boss just wont let him go early. Even though its not busy at all. A little appreciation, respect could go a long way. No one is as good at that job as my son. Im disgusted right now. They have no respect and fake niceness, two faces and think there better than everyone who isnt blood family..

Ive always loved coming coming to butcher boy because their meat is always so fresh, the workers are this is our super nice and the atmosphere is pleasurable.

Great place to buy meat amd upscale food items in general. Lots of wine and specialty food items. The meat is really high quality an fresh. There are typically 3-4 butchers helping people at all times. The prices are fair for the quality and service and certainly more than Costco or a regular grocery store.

I cant think of a better place in Essex county to shop for meats. They have the meats! (This might be a copyright violation, if so, mea culpa.). High quality, great service.Their baked goods are up to and over par as well. The only downside, theyre always busy!

Merry Christmas! I went to Butcher Boy on 12/22 at 1:30. As was totally expected, based on their immense popularity over many years, there was a line. There were very clear signs posted at the doorway as to which of two lines customers should be in as well as a large, visible sign about senior hours (which I greatly appreciate!) The meat counter line was long but perfectly managed. I was inside very quickly and waited on by a nice young man who prepared my roast exactly to my specifications. The store numbers were monitored carefully and there was plenty of staff to attend to any need. I am so grateful for the incredible effort by Butcher Boy to manage their crowds during this holiday season. And, of course, all of their food is outstanding. Thank you to the entire staff!

I cannot say enough about this place. The cuts of meats are exceptional and the butchers serving you are very knowledgeable and answer any questions you have. They will offer suggestions on seasoning and cooking if asked and so far have been spot on. My wife is very finicky and will only eat the meats and chicken from here. I will not buy from anywhere else. Everything else is great as well and a great beer selection which doesnt hurt!!

Very RudeLong time loyal customer. I met my 30 year old daughter Sunday at Butcher Boy, only to be stopped at the door by a very rude woman. She informed us it was senior hour only and that I could enter but my daughter could not. Her exact words to my daughter in front of a line of people “seniors do not want to be near people like you”! We were both shocked at this rude comment and unaware it was senior hour. We were extremely embarrassed. We certainly did not purposely do this. My daughter left in tears. You just lost a very loyal customer. I will give my business to McKinnon’s from now on.

Just about always has what I need very really are they out of anything. Prices arent that bad so it makes it a little easier on us.

My mother, who is 77 year old and has been a loyal Butcher Boy customer for 45 years, entered the store two minutes before opening last weekend as she found the door was open and had watched a man walk in before her. A woman who appeared to be in a management position stalked her and accosted her about 6 minutes later in an aisle of the store. This woman berated my elderly mother for entering the store early before finally announcing well LET you stay implying that they normally kick people out for this??Im writing because this incident has really affected my Mom and she is actually scared to go back to the store that she has patronized for decades. What a shame that they have such a rude individual dealing with the public especially during these trying times.Do better Butcher Boy or you will lose a lot of business with this woman harassing your customers!

The staff is very friendly. Great to-go options for lunch but also fresh produce, meat, beer and wine, plus a gluten free section. I have to say my favorite thing about this place is how nice the people are!

Always the best and worth the drive often to stock up on not just meats but other grocery items as well. My son and family live in North Carolina and I cannot get on a plane without first stopping here to pick up his favorite bourbon steak tips and filets to travel! Butcher boy is top notch. The various meats are delicious, and their bacon is thick, fresh, and perfect, to cook over an open fire, especially during the camping season. The beer and wine is great, and their is plenty to choose from. The bakery hits your nose right when you walk through the door. Most of the goods are made in house. The produce is locally sourced from farms, and is handled with delicate care. The produce manager understands how to choose the perfect fruits and vegetables during the holiday season, to create the perfect dishes. I just need to give a shout out to my favorite frozen pizza and I will share pictures. Yummmm. You will find something you love here!

It was phenomenal.. I can tell you I will never go to any chain supermarket for meat again, It is a tiny store but it is a true Butcher shop I bought beef and quite a bit of it and I can tell you it was buttery and melt in your mouth! Great customer service!!

Place is amazing and doing a really good job with distancing. Cant wait to get our food home to throw it on the grill. Will definitely make the trip to go again.

2 Stars is for your lack of concern for the environment. There is absolutely NO need for those enormous thick plastic bags in the produce section. I asked for paper bags for the potatoes and its not even an option. Please consider doing your part for our environment and offer a more earth friendly option to bag fruits and vegetables.

I have been going the Butcher Boy as a valued customer for 30 years. Today’s the day, I can no longer accept unacceptable behavior, that I have witnessed multiple occasions. The female co-owner is so rude, harsh and belittles customers and staff. After witnessing what I saw today and how I was treated, today was my final trip to Butcher Boy. I would not recommend giving business to an establishment that’s treats customers and staff so poorly.

They sounds like local customers only, not open to new faces... thats how I feel about it!

This place is awesome. Travelled here from mid-NH and wasnt disappointed. We were most interested in their marinated steak tips but they have lots more. Gorgeous meats, homemade sausages and they will cut something special if asked. And theres other stuff. Bakery, wines, craft beers and more. We had to leave before I had to mortgage the house.

So upsetting to see people actually have the urge to give this place a one star. Clearly they’re the ones That have no idea what there doing. Best meats around hands down. Keep doing what you have been doing for many years! Cheers!

I sincerely apologize for the 2 star review previously...I was in the middle of selecting 5 stars and my phone turned off. Absolutely had a fabulous experience and loved everyone working in the butchery section. They were all very helpful...we drove 30 minutes for Veal Shanks and Im telling you it was so worth the trip. Also pleased that you sell deli meat and your own Turkey Breast which was fabulous.

THE BEST butcher shop I have ever! Seriously, and I have been to many all over the country. Much more than just a Butcher shop, they have a huge selection of cheeses, fresh vegis, dairy section and my favorite part was the game meats in the far back of the store. I had Elk, Elk Sausage, Bore Sausage, Rabbit, Duck (breast and whole), pheasant. They have it all. Also a nice selection of beer and wine.

Went in there for steak tips not bad, went to the registers to pay for the item. Cashier was ignorant and rude such as the Bagger. Unacceptable and id rather shop at Walmart I do not recommend this place. Such incompetence and fyi dont drop someones change and look away, excuse me if im a bother...

Butcher Boy has a great selection of meats, produce, frozen prepared foods, deli, meals, spirits, bakery... Everyone knows this. But it comes at such a high price. Way over priced. I shop here a few times a year only, as my regular shopping is best done at other area markets and stores.

I love butcher boy, the quality of the food the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff are second to none. If only the people who go there would go somewhere else it be fantastic. Never have I faced such a group of rude entitled s*** heads in my life.

We come for the great meat quality and selection (best north of Boston). But the super tight spaces and sometimes aggressive clientele make for a variable experience.Tip: avoid high traffic times.

When they get busy as with today there should be someone maintaining the check out lines. There are plenty of people who are respectful but then there are those who like to just jump in with no regards to anyone else. Narsasiam is alive and well and shopping at Butcher Boy!It was super busy today because of all the gas leaks and people coming home to restock!

My favorite butcher period!....It can be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for, bar none the best cuts of meat and great service along with it.The butchers are great, most of them have been working there for as long as I can remember, they are very skilled at what they do, and always one on hand to help you out.They also have an awesome selection of pre-marinated meats in sealed vacuum bags made in house.To note they also have a pretty good wine and beer selection.If you try it out you wont be disappointed.

Always great quality, but I personally witnessed a grave error by the butcher when he started working on a piece of veal on the butcher block right after he just moved aside chicken he was working on a second before. He at least used a different knife ... But still. No no no.

Surprisingly, our last two visits have made us very dissatisfied. We do our weekly shopping there for quality meats and fresh vegetables. Last week we purchased 3 Delmonico steaks. We asked for them to be similar in size and thickness. When we got home the tenderloin on one of the steaks looked as if it had been through a grinder and were all a different size & thickness. This weekend, we placed our meat order and the butcher picks are meat up with his BARE hands! Everyone else had gloves on and the worst part was he had been on the phone. Weve always had helpful, courteous service and quality food. I hope this doesnt happen again.

Best meat shop in MA.

Had a horrible experience with front store female manager. Was totally rude to me, because I complained about my expensive with how food was bagged. Apparently there’s been an issue because she said it herself, but to stupid to do anything about it. Made me to be the villain. Last visit to your store. Quality had been going downhill anyway.

This place is amazing. They carry so many obscure and hard to find items, and their meat is fresh and thick. You will probably spend more here, but you get what you pay for.

As usual the meat departmart is the shining star of the store. However, given the size if the store its packed with great quality products. Prices are within reason given the quality.Consistantly good, you want the best you have to pay for it.

Great market but kind of pricey. The parking lot can be a nightmare to get in and out of during rush hours.

Excellent deli and produce departments. The bakery is has a lot of good desserts, the breads and rolls leave a lot to be desired. Its not really a butcher store since there is a limited selection of pre-cut meats of supermarket quality. Nothing dry aged or prime.
