First time coming to this place a few weeks ago and it’s safe to say, this is my Saturday morning ritual. The staff is super friendly and their bagels are always fresh and delicious!

Omg !!! First time here . Always pass it and so I was hmmmm let me try it. I had just got out of work. Employees were very nice and my order was correct. My bagel that I ordered with all my stuff was soo good and correct. And it was so fresh hot. Oh I loved it . Thank you to all 5he employees who made that happen.

They make great tasting food, but offer the most terrible service from the rudest employees Ive ever interacted with. They never fail to mess up an order, because theyll listen to 1 of every 5 words you say and then get angry when you try to clarify. Ive been here dozens of times, they do have the best bagels around, but Ive never had a pleasant or errorless experience. Youre best off writing your order on paper for them to read because they will mess up a verbal order 10 out of 10 times. Very frustrating.

Its a good place to get breakfast early, my only issue with the place is communication, some times it gets hard to order or for them to understand you, but for everything else, the food is good and they serve really fast, thank you!

The bagels are good most of the time if you wait but the service is just sloww🐌very slow 🐌 if it wasent that slow I wouldn’t write this but they will have 5 people on line and if you are the 6th you would need about a good 35 minutes if not more comon guys you are not making a 10 course meal people add a worker or two it won’t hurt your pockets also please get a new toaster for the bagels it’s veryy slow 🐌 and looks like it haven’t been changed since 1998 it just slows down everything even more..

Hidden little gem that Ive always passed and decided to see whats up. The bagels were beyond amazing. Ordered a BEC on a bagel and everything was fresh and hot. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely letting family and friends know about this spot.

The best French Toast Bagel you can buy. Throw some cinnamon raisin and walnut cream cheese and it becomes a crack bagel. You will be instantly addicted.

Got off work 6:30am went to get a Philly cheesesteak even left a tip!!! Went outside my car wouldn’t start! Called roadside assistance the guy told me 45mins to an hour. Sitting in my car waiting the owner came out screaming am in the parking lot too long saying it’s been over an hour threatening to call the tow truck. I told him I just spent money with you my car battery died I asked you for a jumpstart. He said he don’t care right to my face.

Best bagel I have ever had in my life. I used to live in the neighborhood and used to go there as early as 6 am for the fresh warm bagels. I moved but still i am in a mood for bagel i would drive 40 miles for their bagels. The staff is very nice and bagels are delicious !

The service is slow 🐌Typical wait time is around 20minutes, not efficient at all.They have signs of food they dont sell which adds to the confusionNo online ordering and no phone orderingAvoid going here unless you have no place to goHasnt really improved and the staff is very short with the customers. After taking your order they will relay it to the cook look back at you and start speaking in tagalog and laugh as they cook.

Have been going here for the past 5,6 years and it’s amazing and the customer service is great!!!! I am here every single day. You’re obviously going to wait long if there’s a long line and they are making sandwiches. It doesn’t take two seconds to do that.

O---M---G! Amazing!!!! The bagels are fresh and absolutely delicious! Asked for extra cream cheese and there wasnt much on there but other than that.... very very very pleased! Everyone was very friendly and the place was clean. Service was quick. Just found the place with Google search. So glad I did!

Their bagels are delicious! I would recommend, however, to call your order in and then go and pick it up. That way you don’t have to stand on line and wait as they’re usually very busy.

Always tasty bagel and lots of extras if you need to be host and forgot sweets: muffins, danish, coffee cake. Only not a 5 because can be busy at times, but timing is everything. Busy business bc Im not the only one who has returned for years and never been disappointed.

Usually a great place, but today was a miss - asked for a toasted sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese and bacon, they left the bacon off. Asked for a toasted corn muffin with butter, they let it burn. Also were all out of egg bagels...

Aside from the lines, you wont regret coming here. The baglels are super fresh (and cant be bought until an hour after they open as they are still being made). Order the ice coffee!

This is one of the best small businesses in the town and county... by far...it isnt much to look at from outside but do not let that stop you. The food and the super nice employees and owners make this place pure joy to visit every time.

Took far too long for 3 basic bagels

Okay better place for some of the variety of bagels, but when you slice open the bagels they break apart because of splits on the outsides of the bagels. The pumpernickel bagels need to be softer, we bought two of them and they were almost flat and tough to eat, even slice through. The bagels were like two rocks. We wound up throwing them out. The spreads and types of sandwiches are displayed as they have always been although customers were complaining about previous orders not being consistent with customer requests on bagels. It doesn’t seem like the people who work there are knowledgeable of “bakers dozen”’which was something the owners used to do. However in the past this place used to give the “bakers dozen” as well as other bagel places that carry out the same, which is the 13th bagel being free as a courtesy to returning patrons to the store.

Dare I say one of the best bagel in all of New Jersey?Also they’re open at 3AM! Can’t beat that.

If you ever find yourself wandering the industrial hellscape that is Tonelle Avenue, and it happens to be lunch time, then swing into M&Js for a classic NYC/NJ bagel shop experience. They bake their own stuff there, and have a wide variety of sandwiches named after people you never heard of. Very reasonably priced, too.

Much much better than its competition_ i.e. the Dunkin across Tonnelle. Food is fantastic, staff is always hustling and busting their hump to fill orders. The place could use a renovation and admittedly bc of its popularity at certain times the line gets out of control- however if you want egg thats cooked on a grill vs gross and microwaved, it is worth the wait. The ice cubes in the iced coffee are themselves made of coffee so when they melt it doesnt get diluted. The spicy bagel and the French toast bagels are also interesting offerings. They season their own custom cream cheese. Im partial to the scallion and the olive varieties. Its a definite guilty pleasure / go-to for those of us that live off of Tonnelle in North Bergen
