We were looking for shirts and boots, and a very amiable lady (employee) came to us and helped us make a decision on our purchases. All employees were so helpful in directing us to what we wanted. A very polite and helpful young man helped us with our hiking boots purchase, even helping us by answering our question of what color of shirt do you think goes with our cotton flannels. At check out we were helped by a very personable young man named Brian, giving us more information about discounts, and membership to receive emails of upcoming deals at L.L.Bean. Thanks to you all.

They closed the one in Columbia and I was sad but this location surely made up for it. I was impressed by the selection and they had two floors. I didnt see an elevator, I am sure they had one...hopefully. On the second floor there were more items for ladies and there were shoes. I only bought. Keychain of the duck boot. I was looking for boots but they didnt have what I was looking for today. The staff was very friendly

Its an LL Bean, which to say is predictable in their offering, variety and price. Beautiful store in a great location but its still just LL Bean.

Service was awesome and they had what we wanted. What more can you ask for? Person at the front of the store sent us to the right department and person at the department knew her products. As good as Nordstrom.

We were here last week and I was disappointed to see NONE of the employees wearing masks. I understand that they are likely vaccinated, and this is consistent with CDC guidance, but things are changing quickly with the Delta variant and in general, customers have different levels of risk tolerance. And I was there with my 11-year-old unvaccinated child. I would expect more from LL Bean on the health/safety front.

Staff is helpful and friendly like always. Scored a couple of great deals from sale racks. Highly recommend.

Right across the street from REI, is LL Bean in the heart of the Pike and Rose real estate wet dream. Good outdoor clothing and gear, great service and pretty high prices. You get what you pay for.

Good product selection. Their prices are on the upper end, but the quality is excellent. I recommend being patient for specials and deals if you can wait for it. Staff at this store is exceptionally friendly, patient and very helpful. They are also very easy to find!

Ive been buying online and going to LLBean stores, for about the last 40 years. I was only too glad to see this particular store go up only 20 minutes from where I live! A their stores are just as good to shop in in person as to buy online from, and this one in Rockville, MD., is no exception!! Great service from whoever offers help, or who you ask help of, and theyll hold stuff for you or order things for you depending on whatever youd like them to do! Great place!!

Service was great, what I was looking for wasnt on the shelf. The team member went to the back and brought one out but wasnt the right color they brought out 4 more in different colors. Outstanding effort from everyone.

You can get your soles replaced for bean boots at the cashier. $39. They send your boots to Maine for the repair.I bought new hiking boots from upstairs for while I wait for my bean boot repair. The assiocate was very friendly and offered to help without asking and helped me decide in a pair. I got LL Bean hiking boots.

We like ll bean products because they last forever. Big needed a bag for camp, and we decided to invest in something better than a cheap bag that might fall apart. We were met by John, who showed him the whole array of colors online, just in case he liked one better than what they had in store. He also helped pick just the right size. Thank you!

On the first Sat. of operations the store was crowded. I thought how can I shop in this mass? I first looked for cords. My husbands size was not on the rack. In a second an employee approached and asked if he could help. In a minute he had my husbands size from the back. Two more different types or styles were offered. A second employee stood by the changing room door to assist in my husbands selections. We ended up buying three pair.Then I suggested we look at shoes. My husband wanted boots. Three employees helped us. We ended up buying a pair. This happened with other items and at checkout. The employees were beyond great. Who ever trained this crew sold a ton of stuff for Bean. Better than the E-site. My congrats.

This is an edit to my original four star review of this place. On 11/26/18, I had an interaction with an employee which has left me feeling so awful that I will not be back to this store.This store has never had employees who go out of their way to be helpful, but they were not rude either.Today, I was shopping and found a pair of gloves that I thought may be good for my brother in law. I found my husband and asked him if he liked the gloves. He did not.The gloves belonged upstairs, and I had already come downstairs. I had no intention of going back upstairs to return the gloves to their location, but I also did not want to leave them laying where they werent supposed to be.I found a clerk, told him I no longer wanted them, and asked that he put them away. The look that he gave me and the tone of his voice when he replied felt like an actual slap across the face. The women standing near had shocked looks on their faces, but none of us said anything. I felt so shocked that he had been so rude especially when I was trying to make his job easier.I will not be back to this store, and I am appalled that L.L. Bean has fostered an environment where they think this behavior is acceptable.

I love l.l.Bean. I said across the street at the Hilton canopy and decided just to take a walk in and see what they had. The store was really organized. unfortunately I will have very limited time and wasnt able to browse as much as I wanted to.

I’ve been a fan of LL Bean products and a loyal customer for many years. My experience at this store yesterday contradicted my impression of a company that stands by its products and values its customer. Hopefully it was an anomaly.I attempted to return — or have repaired — a jacket I recently purchased for my six year old son. (The jacket had torn as he attempted to dislodge a stuck zipper.)The LL Bean associate at the counter informed me that they only repair footwear and offered no other recourse. I was surprised having been under the impression that LL Bean offered a lifetime guarantee or an otherwise very generous policy regarding the durability of their products. Perhaps I misremembered or the policy had changed. Fine. But I found it hard to believe that a company like LL Bean wouldn’t repair/replace or offer a refund for a product that I had purchased within the last few months and had broken during the course of normal use. And surely if there was some recourse available, the associate would make it known to me. So, as she rung up other items I was purchasing, I googled the policy and learned that the jacket was eligible for return as it had been purchased within the last year.When I asked about the return policy the associate dismissively informed me that yes, I could return it if i could furnish proof of purchase. I responded that I no longer had the receipt and she turned her attention back to finishing the transaction with the other items — again, no proactive effort to find a solution that would accommodate me.After a few seconds it occurred to me that there must be a record of the purchase in my customer profile in their system. So I asked. Sure enough, there was a record and the associate (reluctantly) processed the return. (I also inquired whether I could exchange the jacket for the same one. Ambivalent, she said she’d refund the money to my card and I could purchase it again if I wanted to. No offer to check the price or have someone bring a jacket down from the second floor where it was on display.)I have no complaints about the current repair/return policy which is still more generous than most clothing and outerwear companies. But I was very discouraged and frustrated by this associate’s attitude. Surely she knew from the outset of our interaction that the product was likely eligible for return yet she made no proactive effort to suggest that solution and was very content to have me leave the store with the unwearable LL Bean jacket I had purchased only months earlier.I would hope LL Bean would encourage associates to be proactive and solutions-oriented in their dealings with customers. That certainly wasn’t my experience at this store yesterday.

First time in this store was pleasantly surprised at how great it was - friendly, helpful staff, plentiful dressing room, fun classic rugbys, snacks and chocolates, all kinds of hardware and bags, mud room mats, dog toys, boots, yetis, etc. Large and spacious... parking little challenging.

Came in here to exchange a jacket but a a guy who claimed to be the manager Tim was passive aggressively not cordial and lacked basic customer service etiquette. Instead of letting us talk, he came up with his own story on what happened and did nothing to remedy the problem. We spent a lot of money on a jacket that was worn once and had a rip in it. He refused to do anything about it. If this were a jacket that had been seriously used and worn I get it. When we asked for his business card he said he didnt have one and when asked for his name he said you can look at my name tag. Im not sure why this dude represents a company such as ll bean. There are a million other brands out there that we can happily go to. Good job Tim! Making ll bean look really good

Very limited outdoor supplies

My absolute favorite clothing brand. Wish they still had a store in Columbia, MD, but dont mind taking a trip down to this store. Pretty good selection on two floors. As with all L.L. Bean stores, the staff is very helpful and polite.

Great addition to the Pike & Rose area. Great selection, easy floor plan, and an even greater staff that is ready and willing to help. Michael was very nice and helped me with picking out a coat while chatting about how much he loved working for LLB. Can’t wait to go again!

Large store with great selections. You can find some good deals if you look around. Parking is tight so get there early.

First time at a LL Bean store. Good overall experience. Two floors and lots of great clothing options for outdoor clothing. Unfortunately they didnt hve my size in the bean boot I went to look for so that was a little disappointing. Other than that, definitely a good addition to the Pike and Rose selection.

Nice clothes, expensive, nice staff, parking is difficult

The customer service at the Bethesda location is great. They were very helpful and just all around nice.

The person who seemed to be the manager was training a new employee and was overwhelmed and stern towards him with her speech along with myself. As I was looking at items around the cash register area she stopped talking to her employee and told me to wait by the rope which was used to direct customers to wait in a line. Only 2 or 3 other customers in the store and no where near the cash register and I wasnt ready to check out yet.

There is a great selection here and the staff is very helpful. I couldnt decide between two pairs of gloves, and the sales associate was kind enough to look up the insulation rating of both pairs to help me make my decision. This place makes me want to take up hiking or snowshoeing as a hobby just to justify wearing all of the cool clothes in the store.

An outdoor themed casual clothes store that plays Gin Blossoms radio on loop always walks a fine line between being a conventional retail establishment and coming off as a surreal walk through a movie set for a low budget high school singing contest.

I recently visited to purchase some boots and the guy that helped me out was incredibly friendly and helpful. I ended up needing to get a wide, which wasn’t available in store, but the employees were great to help me.

This is not the largest LL Bean in the area, but it has a good selection of clothing and supplies for outdoor activities.

The new return policy is very restrictive and inflexible. I was unable to return what I thought were high quality shoes that wore out within 6 months.
