One and done. If ice cream is your thing, this is not the place. I ordered a milk shake and my wife had a single scoop cone, both completely unremarkable in size and quality. If you are going to charge premium prices, one of these attributes must be provided. The milk shake was served in a slightly larger version of a dixie cup and the single scoop was probably the smallest we have ever seen. As for taste….weak! Unfortunately, it becomes worse from this point on. At the posted prices and the Charleston tax rate of 9%, the total bill should have only been $14.06. When bank transactions were downloaded days later $19.37 was actually debited! Kind of hard to pull an extra $5+ out of thin air. If a mistake fine, if intentional it is at least misdemeanor theft. When I called to question this, I was told nothing can be done without a receipt, and since it occurred in the previous month, there was not a way to track it due to financial closeout. Sorry, this is nothing but a bold-faced lie. With decades of experience as a multiple business owner and Assistant Controller, I am quite familiar with product databases, accounting and tax programs, and nothing closes or disappears. Don’t believe me, use that excuse during your next audit.

Loved the selection and fresh treats! The items are pricey. The young lady who helped us was very sweet and kind.

River Street Sweets at Tanger Outlets in North Charleston is one of my favorite places to go in the area for all things snacks and sweets. They have a really good selection of different items that go well for people on your shopping list and they always go over well as gifts. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need and more. I have been happy with all of the purchases that I have made from here.

Cute little store, lots of variety of candies. Was a fun place to get gifts to bring back home.

Everybody who goes to either Charleston or Savannah needs to visit this place. I know this review is for the one in Charleston, but still. These places are AMAZING. They may be kind of pricey, but theyre well worth every penny!

Delicious Gelato and ice cream- both freshly made. Good fudge and chocolate items, but can get pricy quickly. 3 small scoops of gelato/ice cream in a cup was $16. Receipt will have a code for 10% off future purchsse.

First time here and was not impressed . I purchased 2 bear claws( a piece of chocolate with caramel/nuts about the size of the palm of my hand ), a chocolate covered pretzel & my daughter got a dum dum lollipop . It cost me $17!!!! I thought that was very pricey for a few pieces of chocolate . The lollipop was old & chewy and the bear claws had a bad taste to them . I will not return as it’s too expensive for stale candy !

Unfortunately, I visited the North Charleston store July 3, 2021 and bought stale turtles for my mom and sister as a treat and was sorely disappointed! The dark chocolate carmels were grainy and dissatisfied. The candy was simply old.

Very friendly service. Even got a free sample of a dessert I didnt know and she explained how it was made.

Ice cream was good but overpriced and worker was very rude, also paid 6$ for 2 nerds ropes when it said they were 1.95 each brought her the box that said it and was still charged 6$

Great store just a tough economy right now for everyone. For some of us its hard to pay up for the amazing candy and chocolate they have in there. Still not a bad spot to take the kids and yourself for that extra treat every now and then.

Bland expensive treats. The place smells amazing as you walk past or enter, but Ive never been more disappointed in a bland marshmallow covered in chocolate.

Always a favorite must stop shoppe for the kids (and I!) Plenty of treats and even Gelato ^_^ Our only complaint is theyre a bit pricey and all of their homemade chocolate treats taste like chemicals :-(

Delicious pralines, gelato, and all the sugar treats you can get. We tried pralines in several places and they by far had the best. I felt like a Kid in a Candy Store!!..Love this Store!...While Hubby and I were shopping,we stopped in and I sample some Pecan Praline Candy..Yum..!..Homemade Ice Cream!...yay!..I had Pecan Praline and Hubby had Butter Pecan!....Yummy!..so Goood!....the young lady who offers free samples is so nice..like,when you first walk in..also...back cashier who served us Ice Cream was nice also...

Every chocolate shop makes chocolate different but for me, I tasted the chocolate covered pretzels and they seemed stale and the chocolate was not so sweet. The bear claw was good. The coconut cluster was ok. The covered peppermint took a while to taste the peppermint but ok. I just gave the rest of the pretzels, smores, bear claws and the chocolate covered caramel to my husband and children. It was my pre-delivery treat but it wasnt worth keeping to myself lol.

I really enjoy the pink grapefruit sorbet but everything on the store looks good. The chocolate selection is made fresh and the shop has nice options of candy, but I really go for the sorbet. I have had a caramel apple there... well worth it! Tasty treats and good service.

I have never been to this store before, but it reminded me a lot of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory i use to work at. A young man was giving samples out at the front nice customer service but I dont think he tasted then before giving them out, very gritty. I spent a lot of money on taffy only to find out they are hard as a rock.

My family has been going to this chain store since we discovered them in Savannah, Georgia. This review only refers to the Tanger Outlet location in Charleston, SC. Overall, the food is excellent and so is the customer service. The Tanger Outlet center is the exception. I was there three weeks ago and had a strange experience. I went into the store on a Tuesday around 10:30 in the morning. I was the only customer in the store. I passed a woman making pralines in the front who did not acknowledge me in any way. I waited at the back counter for someone to give me assistance. While I was waiting the woman left her post in the front, passed by me, STILL did not say a word and went directly to the back. I waited a few minutes more, still at the counter; and finally decided to leave when no one else came out. I have no idea what was going on! While I love the candy, pralines, ice cream and slushies here the customer service is very touch and go. Sometimes you are allowed to use the Tanger outlet coupon and sometimes you are not, depending on the employee, and the above description demonstrates the iffy customer service you sometimes get. The pralines are delicious but we now order pralines from a different company. They are cheaper there than from this place even when they let you use the coupon and we get great customer service.

Theyre a little expensive, but they are kind enough to allow customers to try before they buy. Employees are friendly and helpful. Pralines are amazing. I had a box of assorted items shipped to my sister and her family for Christmas, & it worked out great. I will have to try the ice cream next time I visit.

Bought a chocolate milkshake only to find out it is only about a 10 oz shake for $7.50. It was made with chocolate ice cream rather than vanilla with chocolate syrup. Probably the worst tasting and priced shake i have ever had.

I visit River Street Sweets frequently. Though Im a lover of the caramel candy apple, Ive tried other sweets that the company has to offer. No matter what Ive eaten from there, every one of them literally melts in your mouth keeping you coming back for more. The personalities of the employees are always pleasant. The sweets as well as the employees has me as a satisfied and FOREVER customer.

This was my first time coming here and the ice cream was delicious and I will be coming again!

Nice last stop at the outlet mall to pick up a sweet treat for the ride home. Being the only store with its doors ajar to let out the delicious aromas, it also was the only door in the whole mall easily accessible to those with physical disabilities as well as those over bagged with purchases and single parents pushing a stroller. The lines for purchase wrapped around the center cashier console causing them to have to happily open two more registers.

Went in here yesterday very upset because amazon lost my valentines gift for my boyfriend. The girl behind the counter, Allison (i believe), was so nice and helpful. She made my day 10000x better as she helped me make a very nice chocolate assortment box for my boyfriend. Left there happy, plus my boyfriend loved the gift and the assortment was so delicious!!! I will definitely be a return customer and will always recommend this place to people! ❤❤

Its awesome to look at, and cool to step into, but its way overpriced and the staff doesnt do anything to get you out of the store. We were in there for ten minutes and couldnt get ice cream or fudge, because of the employee confusion.
