We have used Greg with universal marble and granite for two homes we built and both times he and his crew have been phenomenal. I literally wouldn’t use anyone else period.

The worst experience ever! Don’t fall for the 5 star rating. Everything went great until they installed the countertops.The place where the 2 pieces of quartz meet : one side was higher than the other and not smooth. It felt rough and uneven to the fingertips. We talked to the owner Gregg about this. He sent the same guys who installed it, back out a couple days later. They couldn’t fix it, so we talked to Gregg again, again, again, again and again. He provided every excuse in the book, truck in shop, tool sent back to repair shop ( that’s a good one since there is no such tool) and his guys were supposed to stop by after another job. This went on for over 2 months. The only thing saved that Universal Marble from not getting paid was the cabinet guy broke the quartz- so he replaced and fixed the tops. Gregg never once stepped foot in our house to look at the problem himself ( for over a period of 4 months ). You can take a chance but remember a liar will always tell lies and try to steal from you.

After searching the Charleston area for bathroom countertops, I struck gold with Universal Marble & Granite!!! I was able to get beautiful new countertops installed within a week of my selection and purchase. It was truly a joy meeting and working with both Kay and Greg. Walked into the showroom on a Wednesday, my wife and I picked out our stone - Jose came out and made the template that afternoon - the countertops were delivered and installed the following Monday. This was the easiest process working with Greg and the team - not to mention the installers were in-an-out in 3 hours, which included cutting on-site. I have 20-year old Corian counters which are in good condition, except for the sink. Universal Granite and Marble removed the old Corian under mount sink and replaced it with a drop-in stainless steel sink. (I couldn’t find anyone else in the Charleston area who would do that.). They also enlarged my kitchen island by installing a larger stone countertop. My small kitchen upgrade project was treated respectfully and professionally. They did a wonderful job, were in and out in under 2 1/2 hours, charged a very reasonable price and didn’t leave a dusty mess. I am a happy customer.

Iv used Greg for my last 6 home renovations. Iv been happy with each one. I love the fast that the per sq/ft price is what i see on the invoice at the end. Others claim to be a certain cost p/sf but when the invoice comes, there are several additional fees. Don’t be fooled and come to Universal!

So when a customer looks for quotes or estimates from a company one hopes to get a quote sooner or later. sooner is preferred since in this economy most businesses always should stay on top of their game. its different if a business tries to sell you something that you have no desire to need like a door salesman. this situation i actually went to a business for business so i looked at different google reviews on a sunday and used their email point of contacts they have for quotes. i visited 2 other companies to see their inventory and a supplier cosmos. had cosmos send my choices to all 3. greg at universal marble told me about the numerous charleston awards they got which is cool. missed a call from greg but i called back same day and wife said he will call me back b/c he is with a customer. greg never called so i called the next day and wife said he is with another customer and would leave a note on his desk to call.he never called. i called a 3rd time and said just send me a quote. keep in mind the other 2 companies already sent me a quote within 3 days and also with follow up emails the following week hoping to get my business. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks no quote. guess they dont need my business after all. i could have given 1,2,3,4 or 5 stars but they never got the job so who knows what it could have been. at least communicate heck i rather have been lied to maybe i would have liked that better. i am fair but firm.

My husband and I have used Universal Marble twice in the past when we renovated our kitchen and then all our bathrooms. They have beautiful granite slabs that are different than what you find at other companies. Their service is excellent as is their installation. Very flexible with scheduling, professional, and will go out of their way to make sure your experience is as painless as possible!They went out of their way to order/install a new sink for me after I noticed the original sink would not work with my houses... unique... plumbing situation. GREAT JOB GREG!ProTip: Give your sink outflow pipe a look before buying your new deep farmhouse sink. Many original builders in Charleston/Mt P installed the outflow pipes WAY too high, leading to the garbage disposal pipe being BELOW the outflow pipe with new sinks. No beuno... cant fight gravity!

These guys are great, we have a vacation home in isle of palms in wild dunes. We rent out and our countertops were a little dated and starting to crack so we reached out to 5 companies to get quotes. Universal went above and beyond to work within what little time I have to consult on granite, marble and quartz products. They scheduled templating and installation of the granite product we chose on a date and time that worked for my schedule. Their Installation Team was on time and professional. Their attention to every detail is what impressed me the most. They spent a lot of time and effort working on the seam trying to get it to disappear. They made sure the two sinks they installed were exactly centered and caulked properly and they even cleaned and sealed the granite before they left. Stone yards, fabricators, and Kitchen renovators all over the place! All we wanted was to replace our Hi Gold Ubatuba countertop that was installed 18 years ago when we built our home - 18 YEARS! All they could find was GREEN Ubatuba and excuses. NOT GREG! He searched the ENTIRE South East and FOUND a match! It EVEN matches the 18 year old Ubatuba TILE Backsplash that we LEFT in PLACE! WHAT?! Our OLD countertop had two seams (Three Pieces). Gregs install Team; ONE Seam and you have get within two feet of it and know what your looking for. Greg had a week delay due to the stone yards delivery issues - I said, No worries. As Program Manager working for the Department of Defense, and NASA - If you want it BAD; Youll get it BAD (Apollo XIII; Challenger; Columbia). Screamers - sit down.Perfection has never come so close!
