Love this place! Super honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Some businesses tend to take advantage of their clients. However, Low Country Coins isn’t like this whatsoever. In fact, they’re quite the opposite. They gave me 70% of my coin’s current value. I walked out of the shop feeling pleased with the overall experience. I highly recommend Low Country Coins for all your collecting needs. All the employees know their stuff, and their selection of coins is varied and extensive!! Check them out... This was my first time visiting the shop. Both of the attendants were very responsive to my needs. I immediately felt very welcome. They both took extensive time with me to help me find exactly what I wanted and also showed me their fossil and rock collections when I voiced interest in that too. Even found some interesting videos from their phones about some of the fossils. The entire experience was small town fantastic! This is a great shop run by fantastic people that really want to help you. And, they give discounts to honor our military - which I always appreciate too. You guys really made my day - thanks so much!

Edit: I received a call from the owner following up on a negative experience here at Lowcountry coins. I appreciate him following up and trying to understand the situation (he was not there). I am updating my review because I feel miscommunication between the employee and myself lead to a more negative feeling on my part.

Bill is the most knowledgeable coin dealer I have ever meet. His dealings are honest and transparent. Widest selection I have seen in a coin shop. Nicest coin shop I have ever been in.

What an experience. I walked in looking to pick up a few old coins to add to my novice collection. The only thing I couldn’t find was Solomon’s gold. I asked about tips for getting started and also that I was collecting with my son, who is 6 years old. They had books for kids, which was perfect, and the gentleman gave me some great tips, websites and local gatherings for both me and my son. I found old coins for the starting collector and at incredible prices. When the gentleman offered to assist and teach me what to look for when grading coins, I abandoned quite a few online and brick-and-mortar coin sellers. When I walk out of this store I know that I’m not only getting what I paid for but I’m paying the proper price for what I got.

I am a fairly experienced collector, yet I found that some of the Low Country Coins staff were impressively more knowledgeable than I am. Fairness & honesty reign supreme here too. They are also incredibly supportive to young/beginning collectors--this is obvious when entering the store(s) as you will find abundant supplies & reference material and many affordable examples of coins/currency to purchase. They also have a good selection of more expensive items for sale. What is less obvious is that the staff/owners are also active in the local coin club and encourage collecting there too.I highly recommend!

Lost my business forever, cherry pick the best stuff for select customers. Wanted to buy a coin they just got in but wasnt graded or priced yet. I was the first customer to see it so left my name and number and told them I wanted it and to call as soon as they had a price. A couple days later I find out it was sold to a select customer. Wont ever buy from them again...

Look nice through the door.. said was open per door and web site.. even someone working in store.. guess they dont want to sell things..

I take everything to these guys from coins, rocks, coins, stamps they make me feel confident in what I have and give me an honest input of its value. Also great place to sell scrap gold and silver they pay way more than any pawn shop.

They ripped me off! They gave me $3 for my commemorative silver coin, even though $10 is the absolute minimum value. They cheated a kid, theyll cheat anyone. Very Dissappointed

I find my experience at Lowcountry Coins varies with who I work with. I enjoy buying coins, junk silver and bullion when the young lady or the gentlemen with the tattoos is around. Just about all the rest make me feel as though either Im not worthy of being there or Im wasting their time. After todays experience (pushy, poor customer service), I feel as though I have visited there for the last time.

Sell items on ebay not as pictured, even though they said in description to reveiw item photos carefully, all items are sold exactly as pictured. General dont care attitude to resolve a problem with customer, telling me the item is exactly as pictured, when what I bought wast VERY different. Then proceeded to hang up on me. Real Classy!

I went to Low county Coins and the older man was busy. But, there was a young kid there probably in his twenties . I ask if he could test the metal content of my coin knowing the content already. LOL he open a book with the coin of the same image but what he didnt do is match it up with other coins that were made that year. so There are coins made of brass nickle, gold and sliver and all sort of metals. well mine happen to be pure gold he didnt test it and it happen to be a royal mint coin too. extremely valuable so go to someone with more experience...... or you will sell your coin believing it worth nothing. Also do your research on coins before selling and make sure you refine your searches you will be surprised what you fined. you really got to search for the information because people and the internet can mislead you !!!!! Also dont send you Valuables to anybody even if they are the world top grading system how do you know someone not swapping your item out. If some one can not inspect your coin in front of you it there lost not yours. Also just for the record every one selling and buying coins are dealing with middle men so you not gonna get the real market value price for you coin. so listen you sell your coins for twenty bucks to the store. the store sell the coin to a investor for a 150 dollars. That investor turn around and fines private buyers for your coin and sells it for thousand or maybe even millions. It a scam ran by people who are rich. They offer face value to American idiots spot price to someone a little smarter and there a market value for extremely smart people. So dont get ripped..... Also just for the record you want someone who can talk to you and explain your coin not just sit there with a dumb founded face like duhhhhh. If they dont know the metal content or the history of the coin go fine someone else.

Always been polite and knowledgeable. The only reason you didnt get 5 stars is I always forget your closed Mondays and drive out there.

This was the second time we have been to this shop and both times we were laughed at.
