Healthy sod was delivered on time, and when weather delayed the installation, Dan was in constant contact with us on how to preserve the sod. Had Thorn Lawn and Sod out last week to replace all the sod in my yard. It could not have gone better! The process began with a lawn evaluation and very fair quote a month ago, and a firm scheduled date. They came out Friday morning, and worked all day on removing the old sod, grading, and putting out topsoil. The next day, Dan and his crew did a great job of laying out our St Augustine sod and rolling it. Great attention to the details and a friendly, knowledgeable, and hard working crew. Dont look any further than Thorn Lawn...they are the best!

I contacted and scheduled Thorn to come out and maintain our yard on a bi-weekly basis. They stated they would call before they arrive and would come out on Friday or Saturday. They had not arrived by 11:30 am on Saturday. I called and they stated that they meant the next Friday or Saturday. The following Saturday at 11:30 am they had still not called me. I called again to find out the status. They stated that Dan was really busy and didn’t know when he would be able to make it out. They recommended that I find another lawn service after waiting 2.5 weeks when this could have been communicate up front during our initial conversations. No one at Thorn reached out to me on any delays or scheduling issues they were having. I would not recommend Thorn’s services just based on this issue. I cannot speak to their actual service quality as it was never completed.

Dan and his team are truly the best! Great group of people, I had them do my front lawn last year and they were so great/on time/easy to work with and well priced, that I had them back this year for my back lawn. I recommend them for sod installation wholeheartedly.

Highly recommended! Thorn installed St. Augustine sod in our backyard on James Island this past winter and we couldnt be happier with their work. Over the spring the grass has grown tall, strong, and SO green—I hardly even recognize our yard. It looks so good were having them return to put sod down in our front yard, as well. Their customer service is fantastic, too!

Both Dan and Dee were wonderful to work with! We started with a difficult situation, and they were able to remedy the issues we were having while dramatically improving the design of the backyard! Dan and his crew were great to work with and took extra care to do their work right. They removed the old grass and laid 8 pallets in three days. It was nice going from weeds to lawn so quickly. They replaced our front yard last year and we like it so much that we got them back to sod the back.

Thorn Lawn care is excellent. We use their services for sod, lawn mowing and maintenance, and power washing. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. Their follow through is wonderful. We would recommend them to our friends and family. One of the things that attracted us to their company is that they are veteran owned and we are in full support of our military.

I am so glad we found Dan at Thorn Lawn. We had a yard full of pine straw and in a day, his team turned it into a lush green lawn at a very affordable price. He also provided a clear maintenance schedule that we can do ourselves or have him take care of. We already have him scheduled to come back to sod some other areas.

Thorn Lawn and sod laid sod at our home in an area that the sod we had purchased last year had died. They did what no other sod company has done before, they tilled the soil and added topsoil before the laid the new sod. The sod looks fabulous and healthy. Im a very happy customer!

After spending two years attempting to slowly revive my lawn, I finally gave up and called Dan at Thorn Lawn. He came out quickly and gave me a quote and then put me on the schedule for the following week. First his crew ripped out my old lawn and then corrected the grade (no more low spots that hold water). The next day he put in some great looking zoysia and it has been doing great. My lawn looks fantastic now. Dans crew worked quickly and professionally. My lawn was a total disaster! I called Thorn Lawn after reading the reviews and just about begged them to help me! The owners, Dan and Dee, were such a pleasure to work with! They came over and agreed my lawn was in pretty bad shape. Dan explained the different grasses so I could make an informed decision, they measured the yard, and then gave me an estimate right on the spot! The crew arrived and prepped the lawn on Tuesday. On Wednesday the sod was delivered in the rain, so I thought they would probably wait a day for the rain to stop, but the crew was here early and worked throughout the day to finish the job. Dan installed our new sod last spring, and it was like a complete home makeover. This spring, I got irrigation installed, and Dan was out to repair where they had dug, as well as some sod that had been damaged by tree trimmers. I feel like they go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right.The variety we chose is called Zeon Zoysia and it looks fantastic!
