I have 70 Vette with a numbers matching 454 BB that was in need of TLC. Ron listened to my concerns and requirements. Ron and his crew are true masters of their trade. Ron kept in constant communication with updates and recommendations all along the way. The completed rebuild has exceeded all of my expectations
I went to the Motorplex Shop in North Fort Myers, FL to have a car worked on.When I entered the automotive shop I was shocked to see a White Women Only sign above the ladies restroom, a fully functioning commercial bar and restaurant on the premises, and knew right away this would not be some place I would want to go to for professional serious automotive repair.Originally, I did not want to post this review, not wanting to mention the overtly racist sign or the bizarre commercial restaurant and bar inside a auto shop, but felt I had to let people know what I saw that day inside the Motorplex auto repair building. The sign seemed deeply insensitive and inappropriate and the bar and restaurant - just as inappropriate but more odd than anything else.Nobody seemed to know what was going on while I was there, and upon seeing the sign and bar decided it just wasnt someplace for me.
Very attentive and professional with a local owned feeling. They stand behind their work. I will definitely be using them again.
The place is great reminds me of how things were ack in the day its a real shop the race motors this place has is unbelievable and friendly staff.... Will take all my business to motorplex
Ron and Tom have been doing my machine work for years. I have been completely satisfied with each product every time. Between the two guys, their knowledge is immeasurable. The antique bar, along with all the vintage neon signs and memorabilia only adds to the character of the shop and allows the owner to show his appreciation to his customers. At this time, they are building a motor for my street rod that I am looking forward to driving.Tom and Amber Wirth.Lake Placid, Fl.
Great service and professional work.
Very good & knowledgeable guys.Very fair prices & quality work in a timely fashion.....😎
Complete ripoff. First the guy said he needed to see the head to my car to give me a quote. Cool. Thats normal. He called me back and told me $615 to fix my head. I told him I wanted to give him the business because hes a locally owned business but LKQ has the same head rebuilt for 439 dollars. He didnt want my business. Ok cool. Then hes rude to my wife and charges her 40 dollars for the quote. What a complete rip off would highly recommend finding another machine shop
Did not care for service, treatment, or appearance.I went to the Motorplex Shop in North Fort Myers Florida with my wife to attend a networking event held by the North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce and discuss getting work done on a foreign car.I was stunned to see the shop with a full blown bar and pub inside the auto shop with no visible health department notice, and with a White Women Only sign on their Womens Room door. Loud country music was blaring in the auto shop bar, people were being served food, paying at a cash register, and mechanics wandering around but.....it felt very odd and unlike any other automotive repair facility Id ever seen. There was no office staff I could see, just people wandering around smoking. The front of the Motorplex Shop has almost no signage, abandoned vehicles everywhere with stray dogs and cats wandering around, people crouching and smoking behind corners, and nobody seemed to know what was going on when I was there.I would never go there for professional service or anything else as a result of this experience.
Helped me with some Big Block Chevrolet parts. Great guys very knowledgeable.
Great service.. But I over payed and the kept the extra 20$ so I was disappointed..
Wow 👍 went there on saterday morning, had a problem with a guide on my harley and needed reamer to adjust that....they did that right away and freeThe shop is very old but extremely well equipped and full of big boy toysA dream shop 🧰🚦
Honed them with a ball hone..... the line bore was crooked and metal was left in the oil galleys after paying for a full cleaning and prep....had to bring them to another machine shop to fix all the rookie mistakes that where made... suckered me good
This is the worst shop Ive ever dealt with. Ron will never return your phone calls. They screwed up a $1200 cylinder head of mine. I gave it back to them to fix. Then they claimed to have lost it. Ive been bugging them for a year trying to get it back. Still nothing. Far as Im concerned they stole it from me and stole my hard earned money also. Everytime Ive ever talked to Ron he has been drinking. Dont do business with these crooks!
In our case we learned a hard lesson, 2 years, 2 months, and $15,000.00 later we have a pile of parts. The engine dropped a valve at 24 hours and then completely failed at 240 hours. Each failure required removal from the vessel and a trip to his shop followed by weeks of trying to reach him. After 3 more months of trying to resolve the 240 hour failure( I finally just showed up at his shop), Ron would only agree to cover labor, and not the thousands of dollars in damaged parts. He claimed leaky injectors caused the catastrophic failure even though he said he would have them checked and reconditioned if necessary, that never happened and now he denies having said that (nothing in writing). They will not stand behind their work, they will not give you anything in writing, and they will not return any communications after the check clears. Be warned.
Got billed $375 for 2 hours worth the cleaning in a machine. Just a bad way to do business. Invoice was not even itemized on the work done. Needs to be shut down.
Got screwed on price very bad, was told approx then it was 4 times that price. Disappointed. As to job it was done to what I asked.
Bad people
You will never find a better machine shop. Very experienced employees
They had my parts for two months they never repaired my parts and When asked them how the repairs are coming they said they wanted the whole engine instead of just repairing what I gave them to repair and when I went to pick them up they were very rude and disrespectful!!! Also when they were putting the parts in my car they actually put a nick in my bumper when one of the parts fell!!
I had 2 gas engines and a generator rebuilt by Motorplex, multiple issues by a company that could careless. Ron is as bad at customer service as anybody Ive ever dealt with in my 60 years. Look elsewhere.........
Horrible place full of clowns
Took them a part on Friday and they said they would have it done Monday ... no call so I stopped in on Tuesday and it wasnt done ... said they would have it done that afternoon so I waited and still no call ... went in Thursday and was handed my part with very amateur machine work done on it and poor welding ... I questioned it and was told pay the bill and get out ... very rude owner and terrible work ... spend your money some where else !
