I just have to say its so nice to have customer service beyond your expectations! The young man in the shoe department is amazing. I unknowingly walked in 15 minutes before close. I was told by the young lady as I walked in they were going to be closing soon but I was hoping I would be able to make a quick exchange for my sons shoes, but they didnt have the size we needed. Louis Jackson in the shoe department, graciously took his time grabbing all the shoes styles in my sons shoe size so he could pick from what was available. He must have grabbed 10 pairs, as I urged my son to hurry and try shoes on Louis told me not to worry about the time but to take the time we needed. He was extremely patient and helpful, Big 5 is lucky to have him good customer service seems to be hard to find these days!

The gentleman in the shoe department this afternoon was so helpful. My grandson needed new shoes and he has flat wide feet. Grandson wanted a narrow shoe, I tried something else but the shoe department gentleman knew exactly what he needed. They fit perfectly, they were light and he wanted a running type shoe. Its been a long time since Ive been to a shoe section and actually had someone knowledgeable, polite and truly doing their job.

The customer service was great the man helping me was very patient with us.

Good service, clean and got everything we needed for the snow

It is a smaller store. They carry a little bit of everything, and are pretty good about stocking up based on current seasons of sports being played by youth. The shoe salesman we had to help us pick out my sons hiking boots was super nice and very helpful. Store though is sometimes kind of cluttered feeling and low on hunting type gear.

I waited for 15 minutes for help with two workers up front talking to each other and no one in the back to help me and see if they had my shoe size. So I decided to leave and go elsewhere.

Had a great time at this store and it wasnt too busy with customers at the time. We received good customer service while shopping in the store. I will return next time when needing a pair of shores our running pants or shoes, hunting gear or baseball gear. I bet this location could alsohelp you out as well.

Their memorial day sale was awesome and their staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a baby in a car seat I was carrying, so the staff helped me carry out all of my large purchased items to my car.

Got double charged at a Big 5 in the bay area but was told I could handle it through a manager of the store in sac since its closer. They simply needed a pdf of my card statement and the manager was supposed to forward to their accounting dept to reconcile the transaction and issue a credit. Side note, I could simply dispute the charge with my card but wanted to avoid any negative implications it might have on the store. Well, I was given a customer service number and told it was my problem to deal with even though it was THEIR mistake! I even showed them my CC statement on my phone. The store manager simply did not want to deal with it and basically called the store manager in the bay area a liar for telling me they could resolve the matter at the store level. Unfortunately, with outdated policies and no standard operating procedures, this business will go the way of other retail companies and fade out of the picture soon. Too bad.

Excellent place for sporting equipment

This Big 5 is crowded, but not with things you will need. The service was okay, and they do not carry metal cleats. Twice in one visit they encouraged us to go to Dicks sporting goods for the items we needed.

This store is kind of different to the restIts run by really nice employees and management is great to deal with this store is my favorite for sure.

Ive been to this location several times. Every time i asked for help finding an item the manager treated me like I was bothering him even though I was very polite. I finally decided to start going to the Big 5 on Sunrise even though its a little out of the way for me and was treated very well at that location. In the end Id rather drive ten more miles to get better service where I didnt feel like a burden when asking a simple question.

Employees were very nice and helpful.. Was bummed that the shoes I wanted wasnt on sale.. 😒 The only negative issue would be that the store could be bigger and not so crowded....
