Purchased my first guitar after not playing for 49 years, I want to thank Roy for all his help. He truly cared about what I wanted and needed, he showed and explained to me how everything worked. Absolutely no sales pressure from him or anyone. They even recommended a less expensive guitar case for the guitar I bought because it offered better protection for the guitar. It was an amazing experience and I will shop there for everything I need in the future. Again, thank you Roy for caring about this old timer and Im so excited about playing again

Wow, more equipment at local music stores than at the iconic Guitar Center. I was thoroughly disappointed in the selection of both guitars and basses. And dont even think about buying any tools, they have string winders and not much else. Gig bags? Better off ordering online and picking it up.Im used to huge GC stores coming from Jersey and this just didnt measure up to the history.

Good guys. Called the store and spoke to Anthony about my guitar possibly needing a new input jack. He transferred me to the tech (Seth) and Seth told me to bring it down and he would look at it right away and probably fix it while I waited. He tested it and found the jack to be fine but the pickup switch was suspect. He applied some spray to it and said it was working fine now. Didnt charge me a dime so I bought an instrument cord. These guys had a grip -- quick & professional. Ill be back.

My husband has had a few guitars worked on. They do a great job! Very knowledgeable and friendly.

I went to purchase a Martin acoustic guitar and left. Sales people were fine and helpful. Here was my issue- I ask he they could do anything with the price because it was a floor demo. Salesman sad no. He said it was just but out on display that morning. He was unaware I was in the day before playing it. I settled for a new set of strings which I had to pull out of them. I then asked if they could make a neck adjustment and they agreed. They went to adjust and told me they couldn’t because guitars do not come with the Allen key to make the adjustment. They probably thought I would buy into that, but instead they lost a thirteen hundred dollar sale. I have 43 guitars in my collection along with 43 Allen keys. I bought a better guitar somewhere else for a few pennies more. I’ll let you know if it comes with an Allen key.

Good selection of guitars. Prices were good the employees were not helpful at all. They were to interested in sitting around talking with the other employees. I came here to buy a les paul but after they acted like it was a inconvenience to help I decided to leave and buy one else where.

Went in to buy a guitar. Received no greeting as I walked in. Not even a glance in my direction. I went back and played around with the guitar, I hoped to purchase, for 15-20 minutes. Still nobody comes over to offer assistance. Other than myself, there were only 2 other customers in the store. Played with guitar a few more minutes and finally decided to leave. Passed by the front desk, with several employees standing there chatting, and walked out. Again, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Very obvious they did not care to help customers or sell guitars today.

Friendly staff. We like to stop in and see whats new. My son is a strings man so hes always wanting something different.. acoustic, bass, electric etc and pedals. And now keyboarding lol

Wonderful Service!!! Needed their expertise for sound systems, and they really came through!!! Delighted to see all the musical instruments available; though specializing in acoustical and electric guitars! We highly recommend these folks!!!

Super disappointed. I bought a guitar here and when I play them no one listens. I wanted to take it back and buy whatever one needs to get booked well the manager said I needed a hit and I kindly explained to the manager that he does not have to be high to make music and my music was bad because of the quality of the guitar, I maintain this belief. I said I wasnteaving until they admit the real truth . Well, would you believe he asked me to leave the store and even called the police. This is the worst service I can remember. I should have known something was wrong when the guitars are not even center of the store.Dead giveaway.

Decent prices but employees werent very friendly. Not outright rude but acted like they didnt want to be bothered.

I had a great experience with this store. I was buying from out of State (typically a more difficult experience than necessary) and the purchase was seamless putting this bass on layaway. Upon purchasing, it was ready to ship the same day-again, highly atypical when purchasing sight unseen. Bought my bass on a Thursday and it came just in time for the weekend. I had a great experience at this store. We had to special order a guitar and it was well worth the wait!! It actually came in earlier than expected. Big shout out to Roy! Stopped in to buy guitar, was at store less than 1 minute mustve been a record. Clerk seemed a very happy I was not shopping there. By the way he was polite and I was as well. I will shop another guitar store.

Store is full of top-notch equipment some beautiful guitars but hard to get any help in store and they are still covid-19 scared was impressed

Walked in fully prepared to spend $1200+ to furnish 2 musicians in the family... walked out WITH my $1200. While the items were priced similar to ordering online, zero effort was made to “make the sale.” It’s no wonder Guitar Center is at risk of filing bankruptcy it’s just a simple to order on line and have items delivered to my home. No need to adjust luggage to travel home with a product. A $50 gig bag, a $20 set of strings, hell a 5% discount would have made this happen. The claim of “we’re corporate run store” is code for the workers lack the ability to think for themselves & make decisions beneficial to a business.Guitar Center, while it lasts, will be the “dressing room” where we go to “try on” items— before purchasing online.

I have been shopping at Guitar Center for many years. Their staff is always knowledgeable, and polite. I purchased two bass guitars and some drum hardware there last month. The staff was very helpful and the prices are hard to beat. I will continue to shop there for years to come.

Not bad, it is a Guitar Center after all. This location is somewhat small compared to others I have been in. Nick was great when helping me with information and purchases. The guitar selection looks impressive when first entering but in reality there are only a few choices. Mostly you will see the same model but in a different finish or color. There is not a large selection of multiple brands available to demo. They also carry various sound equipment, accessories, percussion, keys, etc.

We bought a guitar we really liked. It Ended up being the first one that they had showed us that might meet our needs, but we had to do the whole full circuit and they helped us as we went from a couple different guitars to finally deciding on the one they had picked for us in the first place. As a beginning guitarist, the staff was really helpful in helping me find what I wanted, didnt pressure me to make a purchase, didnt rush me when I was trying their guitars, and the store had a pretty decent selection of instruments/gear available. Staff seemed pretty knowledgeable as well, and even taught me how to tune a Floyd Rose. All around great experience, and if I wasnt moving soon, I would definitely buy from them again!

Still open. They have merchandise, and are teaching lessons. Lessons staff are top notch.

This is a relatively small Guitar Center. They dont have a very large selection but did have what I was looking for. I purchased an acoustic guitar here recently and the purchase process was smooth and the associates were helpful. It might be helpful to call ahead of time to see if they have what youre looking for.

Ive been taking lessons for about 4 months with Joey, couldnt be happier. He is a fun teacher who has helped me come a long way in my playing in a relatively short time. I have had a few lessons with the other teachers and they were good too, but Joey is great. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for your dream guitar trust these guys to help you do it! I Have had nothing but amazing service at this store. If you want any guitar just ask them they will help you in any way they can! Also the manager will go above and beyond to make sure your you are happy with your purchases! Nothing but positive things to say about this guitar center.

Terrible experience ....Just was met at door by blonde girl associate...she said in a rude voice. Hey man I need you to have a mask on or something. As usual this Guitar Center will be closed in a few years. Hate it for the guy who put down the cash to open store and hired her.If she would have been nicer I would have found a mask and proceeded to buy the guitar I wanted. Have not been to Guitar Center in years after playing for over 30 years. I usually take advantage of prices on Reverb.com....thought I would give GC a chance at business...So I was not planning to waste time. Oh well. Lost sale. But she still gets a check to chase away folks by being rude....

I brought my Guild acoustic guitar in to get an estimate for repair to the electronics and edging moulding on the neck. I was told the repair guy was an expert with electronics. I asked them to give me a call with an estimate. Three days later I received a phone call that my guitar was done. I was surprised and asked what was done. I was told the guitar was cleaned and some adjustments were made to the bridge. The repair guy told me he couldnt do repair for electronics on acoustic guitars and didnt know what could be done to fix the edging on the neck The charge was $80 for the cleaning and adjustment.

Not the biggest guitar selection but fairly new store. Clean & organized. Inside shopping center, and somewhat difficult te see from Rt 17.

Brand new store--- staff is great..... not over bearing- you can try the gear without being harassed!! Have fun.

The staff is Awesome.

Doesnt have the top tier DJ speakers and other components.. This is the go to for lights, pioneer controllers, slightly used gear and wires. Inventory needs to be updated to accommodate the upper echelon DJs and producers.

Playing for more than half my adult life, I was glad that a Guitar Center opened close to us. What was surprising the store was devoid of any real inventory with questionable pricing. We pick up a bag that had a tag that read Yamaha Double Pedal but the bag was empty. When questioned where the pedal(s)were, the sales person could not locate.Oh boy. Alesis drum kit was on sale but no demo display to check out. Oh boy. Only the expensive electronic drums were on display, which will miss this market by light years. New snare drums look like they were on the road and the drum department to say the least was weak in attitude and display. We left disappointed with the hope that this store will get its feathers together and provide the shopping experience that we enjoyed in other locations.Best of Luck!

Worst Guitar Center ever visited. Disinterested staff and management. Unorganized departments. Did not have the usual reasons to go to this retailer. Do not recommend.

For there being no music stores this far north on the Strand, this is a good store. Guitar Center itself is amazing and almost unbeatable. I love the way they support touring musicians. However, this re view is on this particular Guitar Center. As a guy of many trades in the music industry, I wish there were more items for studios, stagehands, touring musicians, and most of all, digital consoles such as displayed X32s, Allen & Heath, M32rs, and accessories like digital snakes, etc. Also, Keempers and other digital amp options. It would be cool to compare items like that. More and more gigging artists are moving towards setups like these. But overall, Im glad Horry County finally got a Guitar Center.

Their computer system was down so every transaction was handwritten and it was cash only, but the staff was great and everything ran smoothly

Went in kinda late one night so not many customers in the store. I was testing out guitars and the staff were ready to help but did not interfere. I really like that no pressure approach. One sales associate, not sure of his name but he had longer black hair and a beard, stopped what he was doing to help me when I was ready to purchase a new guitar (Bullet Strat HSS) and amp (Fender Mustang LT25). Thank you GC sales guy! Prices are comparable to other GCs and online vendors and you get to test drive the equipment before you buy.

Terrible selection and terrible staff. Cant be bothered to help anyone because they are more concerned with who each other is sleeping with. There were all of three customers in the store and the entire staff was huddles in a corner gossiping. The store manager needs to fire everyone and start over here.

Tried to order speakers but Nash never actually ordered them and never called to inform me.5-28-19 Store Mgr made contact with me and is trying to repair my relationship with the store. We shall see if he is successful in changing my opinion.5-29-19 Riz the store mgr came through and was a man of his word. Thanks Riz. I just wish it didnt have to all go down like it did.
