There are some places maybe 15 minutes away that have better prices for books, but the selection (comics and books) is phenomenal. I saw some editions that I had never seen in person. Found some others I had been hunting for too. Perfect for those who need to finish collections.Its also pretty dang well organized and well kept. Definitely go here and check it out, just expect to pay a bit more for the selection. (Which to be fair is still less than you would buy them in MOST places) Its just the general area has some gems that are better priced. Not too big a deal.The place is still worth it.

Yes, I went to get some help on some comic book that some ask me to check for them, the guy at the front desk seem to be disinterested when I came in. First I must have disturbed his conversation with someone whom he seem to know well and second I must have interrupted his breakfast or lunch, he did not even had the decency to wipe his hand off to check my comics, then he check the comics which I am glad they were all in plastic, he just breeze through them, and send to me you would be luck if you get $20.00 buck for all of them. I have them all here. Not great customer service and people matters. I am Jamaican and it seem like always when I walk into a stores I am not taken seriously because I am a little dark. It is really disturbing to feel like you are being judged without even getting a chance to talk. I definitely will not be going back or recommending to this book store / whatever else he is selling in this location. I do my best to help out the local business and not always go to the big name places and this is what I get. Thanks for nothing.

I love books and this place has them! I went in looking for a paper map of Palm Beach and a bit of MARTIN County. No joy, but I did get a cool old book about the naughty nineties. It had just come in and it caught my eye. So I looked at it briefly, got a kick out of it. So I asked how much. Got the book with the intention of gifting. Noted one torn pop up on further inspection. So now I am unsure and may check into a possibility of credit. My fault totally, used items do experience wear and in this case tear. Enjoy!

New favorite book store! Grabbed 3 paperback books for $13. Seems like a fair enough price to me. Well organized shelves. Genres are broken out then ordered alphabetically by author. Its probably wise to know what book youre looking for prior to coming in or you my be overwhelmed by the selection, but thats true of a lot of book stores and libraries. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for quickly. Ill be back. 😊

Clean and well organized with a large selection. Theyve been there over 30 years! They have rare books, used books and even a few recent releases as well. Tons of comics as well. Great place with decent prices as well.

Let me start by saying that my husband and I are quiet, respectful adults raised with good manners and had wonderful, friendly interactions with every shopkeeper we interacted with during our weekend stay in Ithaca. However, the man running the comic store when we went in (I think hes the owner) was an absolute nightmare. He became incredibly passive-aggressive and confrontational when we went to leave without buying anything (as it happens, you dont always see something you want to buy in a store). Shocked, we stood there trying to diffuse the situation, which led to a very uncomfortable, lengthy conversation involving him bad-mouthing other comic book stores. In retrospect, we should have ignored him and left, but we were so caught off guard by his behavior, we were stunned. During the conversation, I did actually see something that piqued my interest, but didnt buy it out of principal. Be prepared to deal with this guy if they dont have what you want, or better yet, just dont go.

Ive been coming here for years on and off, buying a comic book here and there. No complaints really. The best part about them is that they dont overcharge for a lot of their comics like some other comic shops do. Sometimes you want to pick up a newly released comic for the cover price at 4 bucks instead of being upcharged for 20.

I tried calling this store and whoever it was that I spoke to was rude as hell. Asking for a product should not turn into snide remarks and insults. Stay clear of this place. If there was negative stars I would definitely go with negative 10. So disappointed.

Literally thousands upon thousands of books, comics, etc. It is too bad that stores like this are so few and far between now. Try Book Exchange before you order on Amazon.

This is an excellent book store. We came her looking for comics and Pops. While there was no Pops to speak of, the comic section was amazing. A great selection of hardcover, TPB, and Omnibus. I found several hardcovers and Omni’s that are hard to find, and the store is best peruses when you have plenty of time to browse. I kept finding more and more books stashed in different corners. And the non-comic book selection was amazing. Well worth your time.

I am the owner. We are in our 30th year as Palm Beach Countys best used book store! We couldnt do it without our great customers! But there seems to be a few reviews I do not understand. There were several lower star ratings with no info as to whether there was anything wrong. Perhaps you think 3 stars is a good rating? (It is not. It is average and we try to be better than average.) As you can see by the 4.3 average of star ratings the vast majority of our reviewers give us excellent reviews. And then there are a few odd reviews. One said we have giant bugs. I walk the store every night and have seen no bugs at all, let alone giant ones. Since we have open doors all day long a few bugs may sneak in. If you see any bugs tell the person at the register and let us know. We will take care of it ASAP! The same with anything else. Give us a chance to respond.

Seems like a great store with a large selection. But honestly- the clerk was unwelcoming and seemed a bit annoyed to have to help us. We had some very rare comic books that we would have liked to possibly sold/ traded. He knew nothing about them and just shrugged saying the owner would not be in for several days. We explained we lived 40 minutes away- no reply. Could he have made a phone call?? Should he have some comic book knowledge or social skills knowledge? It was disappointing to us and especially to someone that is reading two books at a time. A book store should always be an exciting adventure that leads you to your next exciting find- this did not give me that feeling that I so wanted to get!

I was told they were open till 4pm (I had called at 3:30pm) I didnt what to be that person, so I said I would stop by another day as I have never been there before. I would have taken too long looking. I was encouraged to come in and Im so happy I did. I hope to be back soon at a more reasonable time. 😅

I used to go here and work here when I was in high school around 2000, its where I got into comic books and my first job ever. While I have since moved away and get my comics elsewhere, I still stop by to take a look around whenever I am back here visiting. Its not the best or cleanest spot, but it has that old comic store charm that you find less and less. Stop in for a look around, if comics arent your thing they have tons of used books at good prices!

I came here on a rainy day with my husband a few months ago. He likes to buy comic books for his collection here sometimes. I don’t usually accompany him, but I’m glad I did that day. This bookstore is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. They have many old leather-bound books in good condition. I don’t know if the owner made the shelves, but the way they arch over the aisle entrances with books overhead is nice. The employee that was there that day, who I think was the owner, was quiet and kept to himself - but was not rude. I suppose the type of person who owns and operates a bookstore is maybe more of an introvert or just plain busy or both. So, negative reviewers may be just misunderstanding him. My husband says he’s very fair in the prices he charges for comics.

Locally owned strip center store with wide selection of used paperback books, manga & comics at popular prices. Most paperbacks are $5 or less. Some used hard cover & trade paperbacks plus new popular titles. Nothing fancy here but great place for beach & casual reading. Easy parking at the door.

A massive selection of books and comics; you can easily get lost for a few hours in here. It is easily divided by genre and author and there are very diverse selections among these. I highly recommend to any book or comic lover, and I suggest you have a couple of hours on your hands to truly peruse the shelves.

Any old comic and book you looking for they should have it! Large on the inside makes you feel like your in a fairytale maze, full of movies and cartoons etc

I went in here yesterday for the first time, and let me tell you this place is amazing! I purchased some comics for my son and I and Curt helped me out. He knew everything about the comics I enjoy and was an all around nice dude! I cant believe I lived so close by to this store and never came inside! Give it a chance, its really a great place.

Very cool store. The employees/owners really nice people and easy to talk to. Wide range of comics. Down side is there is no organization to the comics. But that adds to the appeal when you find a cool comic!

Amazing book shop. Recommended.

Our first time at this store today (6/15/20). The guy at the front desk was unwelcoming and actually rude—like we were bothering him. We came in with some great books in mint condition. He bought 30 of about 55. The set purchase price is $1/book no matter if it is hardcover, softcover or paperback and even if new and unread. They give you a credit that you can spend there-no cash. Between us, we had a list of about 20 books we were interested in purchasing—we found none of them. Beware, about 75% of the books there are also very small paperbacks, many in pretty rough shape. They sell them for 50% of the original price. The organization is not very helpful. So, for example, the unimpressive collection of history books is organized alphabetical by author. So if you are interested in WWI, for example, but dont have a specific book/author in mind, you must look through every history book in stock to find what you want- thru French Revolution,, WWII, Renaissance, 12th Century, etc. The unfriendly man at the front desk was zero help. We made ourselves buy 2 books we really didnt want, but we have to use up a $30 credit. Will only go back only to use the rest up- no other reason. This is certainly not the Strand in NYC, so i dont know what other reviewers ate saying when they claim that this reminds them of great used book stores in nyc. Donate your used books to tge public library instead of bringing them here—which we usually do, but the library has been closed fot 3 mos with no end in sight.

Don’t recommend this place at all. Was going to buy a bunch of the manga he had for sale, but my boyfriend wanted to know how much for a hardback book and he said all hardbacks are $10. I was like what? More than likely brand new on amazon for $11-12 so why would we pay pretty much a brand new price at a USED book store. I didn’t bother to ask how much the manga was because he probably would of charged me almost full retail and all used manga is about $3 each. Also very unorganized and cluttered, a little hard to walk around. Also the guy walked out to take a smoke break and what not while we where in the store, what if we had questions, didn’t even bother to asked if we needed help finding anything. Also the guy working make himself look like he was at home lol. Very unprofessional. Its like do you want money or not? And why on earth are you charging so much at a USED book store. You don’t have gold. I have no idea how this guy is still open to be honest. This is where books go to die pretty much. No wonder he has little to no business. Awful experience.

Was excited to check this place out. It, no doubt, has a TON of books...some new, some old, some hard to find. I like that they will buy books from you and give you a store credit. A few of the negatives that I didnt like were that is was kind of unorganized. Yes, they have sections for the books, but they arent alphabetized. I have been to several used book stores and they were all alphabetized. It was kind of like a free-for-all once you found the section of books (at least in the section I was looking). The other thing I found kind of off-putting was the guy that was working when I went in. He gave off the vibe that I was bugging him by asking questions. Sorry, Ive never been in your store before! He was more interested in watching YouTube videos than in answering questions. He did show me the section I was looking for, but other than that he seemed annoyed! Like I said, Ill most likely go back b/c I can tell by the positive reviews that this place is decent. You cant go by one employee and one visit. The prices were a little higher than I would like, but at least they let you use store credit if you bring in other books you no longer want/need.

I do not recommend this place as I was told that one of the items was in stock and a certain price $$, and when I went into the store because they research the book in between me calling and coming; in they decided to raise the price of the book tremendously due to popular interest! Which I think is horrible customer service and very misleading to customers who call for information over the phone.This is a follow-up to my original review which was made prior to going back into the store and rightfully claiming what money was owed to me, as this book was priced tagged at $15.99 ( confirmed by the person who poured the book off the shelf for the gentleman I spoke with on the phone) Regardless of circumstances and how the salesman over the phone felt about the book that’s what it was priced and I should not have been charged anything other than that! Hence is why I went back and demanded my $134. As this book was only worth $15.99 you cannot upsell items to your customers just because of popular demand unless you do your research prior, you don’t tell your customers one thing on the phone and then a completely different thing when they get to the store knowingly having a book in hand and seeing the price. I did not cheat the store out of anything if anything I was the one cheated in this scenario and you’re just mad that you didn’t get one over on me and it’s putting your reputation at risk! But trust and believe after I returned the book and purchased it for its rightful price, I walked out a happy customer. :)

You walk in and think its a regular used book store so, the book worm that you are, you wander around and then you turn the corner and BOOM...all of a sudden theres this whole other room! And as youre wandering these shelves you turn a corner to go down the next isle and WHOA... where did this space come from!? Its like the Narnia closet of book stores... Plus they give a dollar credit for books they will take as trade. (I happened to trade back books I had just bought from the store weeks earlier {and read of course} so no problem getting an exchange).

This is such a gem in North Palm Beach. This is exactly what you pictured a book store to be like when you were a kid. Warm, comfortable, and so many books!!! The smell alone made me fall in love with this place. They have a ton of different types of books to chose from. They also carry a wide variety of comic books and collectables.

The young man behind the counter was so nice to my eight year old daughter. She must of ask him all about book and he answered all of them. Super friendly staff and a great selection of used books from 5yrs all the way up to adult. This will be my go to place for all my daughters need

We bought a couple of arm loads of books this afternoon and on the way home realized wed been overcharged for one. We called and the owner told us to come on back so it could be made right. It was an honest mistake that could have happened to anyone and he was super nice about it and handled it right away. Also, I found a few childrens books for our homeschool that Ive been looking for. This place is great for finding older books. They also sell comic books new and old the staff is knowledgable but not always very helpful. Great stock of things though also a little difficult to navigate through the book store part.
