Note is posted on the door stating The diner is closing at 2pm daily due to employee shortage. We headed to Airport Inn, which is straight west a few miles, same owners, same great food and great service! A little farther to go but watching airplanes taking off and landing is always fun!
Always a pleasure to be there. Clean,food is great, super portions, excellent service, coffee is better here. The patrons are for the most part friendly, even though most of Nebraska seems to want to still be alone very sad about that.
Very nice lunch. Good food, good prices, but what made it great was the service. It was busy, they are suffering from staff shortages, and were getting ready to close. Yet they were warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely come back if in the area again!
Wife wanted a lesson in how they cooked the bacon. So crisp you can stand it on its edge. Not geasey! Very good. We visited in the middle of the week for breakfast and the place was filled with locals. Great experience. Staff was friendly, attentive, and prompt. Glad we stopped!
This place is awesome! We stopped here on a whim while driving through nebraska on our way back to illinois and we were amazed! Its cute abd cozy inside but there areplenty of tables. The pancakes were the star of the meal, they are massive flapjack style cakes and very hearty and delicious this was a treat one of the best pancakes weve ever had. I liked the biscuits and gravy they were tender and gravy wasnt salty! Seemed like a chill breakfast spot for the locals.

The food here was very good. Place is very small and it is seat yourself, very busy. Had to wait on our meal about 30 minutes. Service is very slow. All in all a good place to eat.

Yeah, the chairs are worn. The tables are too. Thats because they get used alot, this place stays busy because the food is good. Service was great, kitchen was fast, try them out.
Mom and pops type diners like this are few a.d far between these days. I had the Boss omelet for breakfast. Let me tell you, they put a lot of heart and care into preparing your food. It was so delicious and so bountiful I didnt think I was gonna be able to finish. And the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be stopping in again when Im here from denver, Colorado the next time.
The food and service are great. The place is small, in an old gas station. Homemade pecan rolls :) :)

We were looking for a healthy home cooked meal - an option that was not fried. We found it here! A nice large portion of real roast beef, baked potato vegetable. The salad bar was delicious.Our server was helpful and friendly and we paid a nice reasonable price for the meal. I would eat there again!
Such a great hole in the wall mom and pop diner. Wish they would update the furniture though. Need new seat covers. Food and staff are good

Felt like 1975. This is not a imitation old fashioned dinner, but the real thing. I think Eisenhower ate there. Real home cookef breakfast, eggs cooked in buttet hash browns crispy on the outside, and real, homemafe thick sliced whole wheat toast. Not gourmet but better than all those horrible cookie cutter chains.Do not be put off by the plain exterior. Great real American breakfasts.

I cant decide which is better at the North side LHD, the food or the service. We always feel right at home there. The entire staff is friendly. The portion sizes are such that theres no reason anyone should leave hungry. Its good, down to Earth home style cooking. We recommend this location quite frequently.
Good priced food, decent service, little packed in there since small location and parking is also a struggle for same reason but worth going in again.

Service was excellent. For quick food it was ok. Had a club sandwich. It was meh. Over toasted and had tomato even though I asked for none, but easy to pick off. (I suggest only cutting in half instead of quarters). Salad bar was well stocked and fresh. Husband had the chicken fried steak. Very eggy breading with a bland taste, even with the gravy. Potatoes and gravy were excellent. Overall a good atmosphere, with clean and friendly service.
Stop here every time in North Platte. Love the sticky buns with pecans.

One of the very best places in the entire country if not the entire universe! Normal, homemade delicious food. They make their own pies and bread. All meals feature farm fresh items. Friendly help and 2 great locations. God Bless the USA!...(and no, I dont own the place)
Always love this place! Breakfast is always yummy, daily specials are always worth it, and I really like their salad bar. Always fresh and kept full. Service is always good. If they look like they are packed, same owners run great place at the airport also! Great prices for big portions!

Saw this in a magazine about things you have to do in North Platte. Lots of food but not one of my favorites. I would not send someone there for dinner. Maybe their breakfast is better.

Have tried to stop in in years past, but always so busy. Glad we were able to stop on our way through. Their prime rib lunch special was great! Great waitress, well definitely stop again at the next chance.

An adequate Hometown Diner. Very small dated and local oriented. Hipsters might call this location retro but in actuality its original. The staff was friendly and they did their best. There is a vast variety of selections on their menu. There is a lot of history in the location and the people are extremely nice so I would recommend it, at least to try it once.

This location is the one Ive been to. When I want a good plate of roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, this is where I come. Excellent, honest food.
Great breakfast spot! Workers are friendly! This is a locals joint, but they are welcoming to travelers too! I got eggs and great homemade wheat bread. My finance got a big Belgian waffle that he was happy with! A definite stop if you are ever on Lincoln Highway or if you are willing to get off Highway 80 and drive through North Platte to the north side of town.

Great mom and pop diner. Friendly wait staff. Large portion sizes. Tasty, affordably priced food, and a very homey feel inside.I had the breakfast burrito and it tasted great and was more than enough food. My girlfriend had the mushroom Swiss omelette which she really enjoyed as well.

Everything a diner should be but even better. Real ham. All ingredients your granny had on hand. Well ok Tabasco on the table-my granny did NOT have that. Lots of locals. The work outside kind. I recommend the eggs Bennie
