I was hesitant, but a return visit today was way better then three weeks ago!! So glad we gave it another try 🙌 Different workers were present and the treats were yummy!! Also, whoever reads the reviews be open to constructive criticism it can only help you gain perspective 😉 I personally want every small business owner to be successful in our great community here 🤗

Delicious shakes! I stopped by to try it out for the first time and loved it!!! A bit on a pricier side but so worth it!

I am laughing at all the bad reviews because we LOVE this place, the owner is awesome (even more so now that I see she stands up for herself in her responses), and the servings are HUGE so I’m not sure how a complaint of being overpriced is justified. Tonight we witnesses two awfully rude customers to the little girls working. The girls handled the hostile women in a respectful and dignified way. No one deserves to be treated like that. We will continue to support this business, the ice cream is also delicious!!

Hubby and I took our grandson to get a snocone Saturday. It was really busy and I admired the woman who was by herself. She treated each customer quickly and professionally. In these times when its hard to find workers I have much respect for this woman. Not to to mention the BEST snocones around.

Great shaved ice! Just the right amount of syrup, and the sizes are generous. Will definitely be back!

The shiver shack has to be one of the best ice places I have been in. I can’t stop eating the BANANA CREAM PIE ICE CREAM. Best one I have ever eaten. Staff is super super friendly and helpful. The customers in the place are all friendly as well. Keep up the great job staff. I would definitely recommend this place.

GREAT ice cream, HORRIBLE customer service. Rude old blonde lady was so bothered we came in then got upset she didnt have dimes for my change, so she threw a quarter down and walked away without even saying anything lol worst experience.

Never had a bad experience here. We are semi-regulars and love every visit! The brownie sundaes are so cute and so delicious. Everyone is alway so friendly and welcoming! Best place for cool treats in North Port!

Just moved here and stumbled upon this place. It is the cutest little place not to mention the best milkshake I ever had (Almond Joy). The atmosphere was pleasant as was the staff. As I sat there I watched the other customers walking away with these colorful snowballs. I had to come back to try one of them. Two days later I did just that. The lady behind the counter was very helpful with explaining the process to me. There were many different flavors. I decided to stay with something I was familiar with. I ordered a Dreamsicle Hawaiian snowcone with a scoop of toasted coconut ice cream on the bottom (optional) covered with marshmallow fluff (also optional) OMG!!! My new favorite place in North Port! The prices may be a bit high but when the product is good I dont mind paying for quality. I highly recommend!

Well 3pm on a saturday. NOT OPEN. NO SIGN ON DOOR AS TO WHY. Such a disappointment.

So my daughter got a snocone with sweet cream mixed the sweet cream in with snocone and did not like the taste..gave back and after back and forth with owner had to buy my daughter another snocone so she could have with friends we met there..bad customer service in my opinion but whatever..we won’t be back…

Wish I would have read the reviews before giving any of our business here. Wayy too expensive for basic ice cream, ordered 2 KIDS scoops and she charged us $10. Barely a scoop there. Hard pass next time. Price the product accordingly, this isnt the Keys. And the comments owner replied on here... man.. Im upset I gave ANY of our money to that sh*tty attitude.

Snow cone flavors are amazing, ice cream is delicious, and Im not joking when I say that the shakes are the best shakes I have ever tasted!!! Go to explore new flavors and and it will be amazing. You can make any ice cream into a milkshake. I have tried cotton candy, fruity pebbles, butterscotch, and mint chip milkshakes; all GAMAZING ❤️

I was very excited to see a Hawaiian Ice place open in this neighborhood. They have a great variety of flavors and of course let you sample any one you want. I highly recommend the marshmallow fluff as a topping! The only dissapointment is this was my 4th time here and the 1st time they offered me a punch card.

Awesome place! I was looking for another ice cream parlor after I visited the other popular ice cream place in North Port as it was dirty and had mold in the dipping cases. The Shiver Shack is clean and the staff was very nice. I had the brownie sundae and my friend had a cup of “steller coffee” ice cream. It was all wonderful. Having gone to ice cream school, these folks are doing it right. Highly recommended!

Our family visoted for the first time today and was very happy with the service and the yummy treats. We had Sno Cones, milk shakes and then a couple pretzels. We will be going back.

Mediocre Ice and Very rude owner. While I wasnt blown away by the shaved ice I had there, I wouldnt have gone so far as to write a scathing review of The Shiver Shack had it not been for the rude reply I got from them via email. After stopping by, I received an email survey about my experience. Since they asked, I thought they genuinely wanted to know how their customers viewed their product and overall experience. I gave it a low rating and checked boxes that corresponded with reasons akin to quality and wait time. The survey also provided a spot for comments, so I noted the price was expensive for what you get and that I didnt plan on returning. I received a reply from them that said, well Thank God for that. Thats some reaction from a business owner who is actively seeking opinions about their product/business and very telling about how they feel about their customers and local community. I know a lot of people who choose to dine at locally owned establishments like to support the ones who treat their customers and employees well... and skip the ones who dont, so choose wisely.

First time going here, tried the strawberry cheesecake milkshake. It was awesome! Will be back again.

The owner has been consistently rude (which is supported by her snarky comments to online reviews) and the ice cream was old. The ice cream I had was gummy in texture like it had been sitting in the case too long. My family and friends wont go back.

I will not be coming to this place again for several reasons. I had the husband ring me up when I placed an order and he kept having to talk to his wife for the answers about the questions I was asking. The young girl who asked me what I wanted asked if I wanted my ice cream in a cup since I had several ice creams cones to take outside since obvious they are easier to carry wouldnt melt. They charged .50 cents for each cup i had and saw no price listed anywhere about charging extra for small cups to go. I questioned the husband why my total was higher then it should be and did not seem correct after paying. The husband couldnt explain it so after waiting and waiting for the husband to finally call the wife she broke it down since the receipt is not itemzied. Unfortunately, the wife was sassy, super rude, and just didnt care at all about the customer service when I had questioned her since the amount did not add correctly. It was a severely disappointing taking out of my time to even set foot in this place and told my family instead to go to a better ice cream shop. Overall, the ice cream wasnt as great as it should be and was served little portions. I might as well ran across the street to get publix ice cream. Not worth for the lack of customer service from these folks and quality of ice cream, be warned.

The selection is great but the prices are high. We went there tonight with 3 kids and found out there are no kid sizes so 2 small ice creams, one cone, and one snow cone was $23. The place was clean and food was good but the not very friendly, I think we interfered with her phone time.

Fantastic place! Staff extremely friendly. So many flavors one will have a brain freeze just picking! Plus the Working Cow is incorporated with them as well which is even better for taste buds satisfaction! Good ice, meets good ice cream!

My first time I went in and got a pint of delicious chocolate Fantasia and Coconut. Loved them both. Awesome staff and amazing ice cream. Cant wait to try more

The best I can explain is. Clean, friendly, so many flavors of ice cream, great real shaved ice, and price points that are on point. Truly a great way to spend a first date or even a married date night.

The last time I went, they opened about 20 minutes late. Two times before that they were closed and didnt have a sign up or have it posted online. When I did go in, the older male employee that was working asked if I was wearing any pants because my shirt was super long. Completely inappropriate. Also, one of the other employees was not wearing gloves when she was making my sister’s milkshake and handling the straw (which she had completely wrapped her hands around) and when she asked for a new one the employee was very rude about it and had a bad attitude. Their snowcones are great with a large selection so I will give that to them, but the service was not.

Went there a few times and got my favorite coconut. But this time i went in ordered the coconut and they handed me some ice cream with fudge, and i said oh is this coconut and she said yes we dont have regular coconut anymore just almond coconut with fudge. I didnt want to get it but they already put it in cup so i said i guess ill get it. I saw that the cup had 3 small scoops which didnt fill but maybe half the cup if that and ended up hating the flavor. Wasting 5 bucks.

Friendly staff. Awesome snowballs! We had cherry and fudgecicle with condensed milk. The decorations are a hoot and it’s a happy place to look around.

Snow cones are good but the staff isnt friendly and they never told me if every flavor has a different price or maybe it was just the toppings but I didnt want nothing fancy just two different flavor on my snow cone and come on for I medium and 2 small cones $20??? I think it is rip-off.

I was so excited to come here because of the reviews; however, I did not have the same experience. Maybe Im used to snow cones up north where the cup is filled with syrup, but I would have settled for all of my ice to have a hint of syrup. Halfway through my ice was pure white. I paid almost 9$ for 2 snow cones. Serious ripoff!

Went there tonight and felt EXTREMELY RIPPED OFF. We asked for the extreme size shake (they had a different name they called it) and she said oh its like the size of a basketball We asked if we could see it. She said Its too big,but I can sell you a large one We realized that she didnt want to sell that extreme size which was $2 more than the large. So we said ok. We got the so called large shake, served in a 16 ounce glass. She underestimated the amount of ice cream in the blender. When it came up to only 3/4 full she realized her screw up and offered to fill the rest with whip cream. We thought she would discount it or fill it up, but she did not.She proceeded to check us out and had the nerve to ask us, via machine, for a tip. 12 Ounces of shake for $6.47. It was extremely watery, very poorly made. They might make money on the tourists, but wont after season.

This place is never open. i’ve come the past 3 monday’s in a row and they are always closed. i even called today 30 minutes before they opened, said they opened at 2, and now it’s 2:11 and they’re still closed aNd my calls are going to voicemail.
