They’re open seasonally. Closed on October 10th, 2021, reopens February or March, 2022. Great place!
I ordered a peanut butter cup with cherry dip birthday cake from here and they did an amazing job!! Just like I wanted it at a great price. The employees were all very nice. I definitely recommend!!
If you grew up with these you seek them out; they only offer cold treats at this location but ver nice folks, classic dq tastes.
A perfect ending to our 21st wedding anniversary! We cant wait to go again on the Harley!
Ice cream was amazing as always, staff was polite . Definitely will go back soon.
So, I live near the city and when I came here and ordered a large cone I didn’t expect to receive a whole pound of ice cream. My god it was so large I didn’t realize that I should skip breakfast and lunch to eat it. I wasn’t able to finish it :( My husband got a kiddie small which is what I would have expected a large to be. I think I’m being overcharged and underserved ice cream in Boston and it’s very hard to find a good twist cone. I may move to the burbs just for this.
Large Heath Bar Blizzard. Doesnt get much better than that!!! How can you not love DQ???
Nice old school Dairy Queen in a good location. : )
Quick service and great flavor dairy
Opened in Feb with limited days and hours, for the diehards. Can be a very busy place. Most recent visit took 30 minutes, probably because they only had two staff. Worth the wait though!
Love this place, they are one of my goto places for ice cream. The service is always friendly and pleasant
Just got a vanilla soft serve but it was delicious and the service was great.
Love DQ, cant go wrong with a blizzard on a nice day!! They now take card as well, which is nice.
It was ok. I think the ice cream is tasteless
Had a late lunch consisting of an ice cream sundae very satisfying.
They were a little busy so the wait was pretty long.
Best place for ice-cream
Medium Oreo Blizzard $5, with barely any oreo, and couldn’t even pay more to get a fair amount…
Love Dairy Queen! So dont my Grandchildren.👍☺️
Hands down best DQ EVER!!!Everyone on the Wednesday night spring/summer crew is an absolute American hero.
Best soft serve ever!
Overall very good. The ice cream is good. But the folks behind the counter could use some more help.
Good service, enjoyed the snack
Excellent service great blizzard
Old school charm
Please dont ever visit this location. The owner of this branch refused to participate in the autism awareness program that DQ was advertising. I tried to use a gift card that they would not accept because they are cash only and if you made a purchase some of the $ was supposed to go to a foundation for autism. They said the chose not to join in. There was even a commercial on TV for it. Needless to say I never went there again. There is a locally owned place right up the road that is awesome . Grrrrrrr..
Quick service, accepts all cards by Amex. The low windows were a pain. People not observing the 1 person per car at the window rule was aggravating. Blizzards were yummy.
I had been craving a Blizzard for ages (years actually!) and never got one because all the Dairy Queens are so far from Boston. But today the stars finally aligned and my friend and I made it out here to achieve our Blizzard dreams. It tasted exactly the same, and I was thrilled. My only quibble is that they only take cash.
Pull into dairy Queen theres four or five other cars in the lot its 2:30 but the place is closed supposed to be open says its open waste of time change hours on your website so people know when to drive out of their way for dairy Queen and when to go somewhere else
Good blizzards and decent cherry dip ice cream
Ice Cream only, Fine. I like Ice cream. Cash only, Ok.... Its 2018, even my dog walker accepts my debit card. They dont accept coupons via the official Dairy Queen app. Nope. Final straw! Go to Cold Stone, at least theyre in the current century. My advice to the owners, update! I liked the storefront. Really! It reminded me of my childhood and was a great flashback. But, you can keep your old school feel and bring your store up to date!
Favorite place...Choco Cherry Love and Strawberry and Gueradelli Chocolate are my recommended flavors and the only ones I get 😍😍😍
Dairy queen will forever have a special place in my heart. I love going there after going to the beach. That will forever be a memory I cherish.
This store is one of the best places to purchase ice cream and other frozen treats. Ive never had a bad time there and the service is top-notch. You may have to wait a bit as its gets very busy at times but its worth the wait; a good suggestion is to get there early in the day before the crowds arrive. Also they are a cash-only place, so make sure you have that before arriving. Keep up the good work!
They still have the rude owner! The lg sundae looks like a kiddie size. They give Dairy Queen a bad name🤬🤬
Food itself is delicious. Extremely slow and short staffed consistently.
Usually great but service yesterday was bad
We were there for 26 minutes. We didnt know they dont serve food. We thought all DQ did, which is why we detoured off the highway. But we should have checked but the reason for the low stars was the 26 min turnaround time (arrival to departure) . Since ALL they serve is ice cream, Id have expected we would not have had to wait a long time to make our Blizzards.
This place is so fun and friendly! Excellent customer service and the ice creams of course are superb. Had a birthday cake made by them and absolutely loved it. Everyone did. Go here. Now.
The soft serve is always great here. The people are pleasant. If I have a complaint it is that there is only one person on the window in the afternoon. Usually someone younger. Accurate but slow. I notice the same car outside no matter who is working so I assume it must be an owners car. If they are present, they may want to jump in so that customers do not walk off like they did yesterday.I will keep trying to come there!
The ice cream is tasty. They have too much choices, the decision is hard. The founders of the Dairy Queen® system were men and women who introduced a new kind of dessert treat and, in the process, developed the foundation of the franchising industry. The history of the DQ® system is a story of a unique product that created an industry.
A cold, rainy, late September day is not typically when you might go here but we happened to drive by this place after lunch and thought: why not? Well, it was worth it! We each ordered a small dipped cone and the woman gave us a generous serving. How so? There was ice cream all the way to the bottom of the cone and piled more than twice as high as the cone. Mmmm! Note that this place is cash only and only takes gift certificates that they issue.
The servings are generous. They need to get out from the dark ages of cash only and accept credit cards. It also would be nice if they set up tables for people to sit.
Love this location. There is plenty of parking.
One of the older DQs Ive been to. Its a shame it hasnt been refurbished a bit because its a unique building for window service only. Its also weird that there is no place to sit. Its just got a parking lot so plan on eating at the car. Ice cream was still great tho.
Yummy and nostalgic, best softserve.
Its ice cream! Its good. It has many options for flavors and styles.
Great store to get a wide variety of ice cream from. Staff are very friendly and patient when customers are choosing the ice creams they want. However, they are cash only which is a bit of problem.
Cash only. Excellent service and value for your money. Great parking. Not open year round.
Amazing blizzard! Great service and a really convenient location! Will come back!
Well its good ice cream Im sure but I wouldnt know since its CASH ONLY here in 2019. Youd think a chain would be smarter than that.
Old-school ice cream-only location. Theyre only open during the summer and are take-out only, but they attract a huge following. They offer several special Blizzard flavors not found at other Dairy Queen locations and have great discounts if you go early or late in the season.
Not many left in the area, different ice cream options.
Average DQ. Kinda run down building. Ice cream ok.
Very good soft serve icecream, customer service excellent fair price
If you are just looking for any ice cream this might hit the spot. Lines are normally long and slow moving. Prices are some what reasonable compare to other ice cream places in town, but still not the best.
Ice cream is great BUT unless you have 45 min towait in line go somewhere else. They are so slow and it’s not worth the wait.
The best soft serve ice cream cone ever.
Love to blizzards, hardly any hot fudge on hot fudge sundae. Teen service and not very knowledgeable.
There is only ice cream and no drive thru...
Unfortunately for me and my fiancé, we will never go to this Dairy Queen again. It’s really a shame that the owner of this specific Dairy Queen is extremely mean, and unforgiving .We have been regular customers for years, and the customer service is one of the worst I think I could say I’ve ever experienced in my life. One would think you would have a good experience getting ice cream on a regular basis because it’s a fun thing to do, but you never know what type of treatment you’re going to get at This Dairy Queen specifically... I could go on in more detail about every single experience, but I want everyone to know the owner of this Dairy Queen is the meanest person I’ve ever met in my life at any type of food and beverage place in the industry EVER!!!!Do not ask for anything special or a favor, or you will be scolded and treated horribly by the owner of this Dairy Queen. They had made a mistake on something I ordered, and I asked for it to be replaced or just fixed without any cost on her end, and I got the 3rd degree By management, and the owner. The employees are all walking on egg shells so afraid of this owner it’s sad to watch .. If the owner of the store was a judge, principal, or worked in any authoritarian position, I would be in great fear..There are very nice people right down the street that’s an ice cream shop / Mini golf place called BFM Driving range and ice creams . It’s only a football field away, and they deserve everyone’s business because it’s family-owned, friendly staff and a very good ice cream. No long lines either. Your business would be appreciated much more there as well..Please do not wait in long lines at this Dairy Queen and just go 100 yards away ; because your business is not appreciated. Please trust me on this, and thank you ....Thank again for reading this review....
Good to have a DQ in the area but the service wasnt very fast. Also its cash only.
Good variety of ice cream you can find here
A repeat customer for years UNTIL TODAY!!Ordered two cotton candy blizzards and asked for just a little less mix that they use to make it.Usually, made just right but today, the server made it with WAY less mix instead of just a little less.We weren’t enjoying our blizzards. Was mostlyIce cream.I rarely complain or return food, but I just wasn’t enjoying it. So I went back to the counter and explained my situation.A different server took my ice creams and said she had to get her manager to solve the issue. Her manager came out and said “because you already ate some, there is nothing I can do with these” and gave them back to me, melting away.“The only thing I can do is give you a small cupOf the sprinkles we use for the mixture.”I was surprised they couldn’t just make me another one.I agreed to the solution and the manager went and got me a small container of sprinkles. When she brought them to me she said “I’m sorry, but my manager said I have to charge you for these sprinkles.”“Are you joking?” I said. “Why would I have to do that? It’s just a tiny bit of what you use and I used my last 3 dollars to tip the guy who made it. You can’t make an exception?”“I’m sorry, I can’t. I can get my manager if you want?”How many mangers work here!!!??? I thought.I told her to go get him/her.Of course her manager refused to talk to me. I apparently didn’t deserve his/her time.I wasn’t about to continue to argue with the staff and beg for sprinkles. God knows what they were going to charge me for them too!!I said “you lost a customer then!” And walked away and won’t return.Ice cream was all melted by then and I was beside myself at how they treated me!I decided to go home and call the owner.left a message and she called me back and pretty much scolded me for asking to fix my ice creams.“We make our blizzards a certain way and you asked for less. And I don’t get why you felt embarrassed about the situation?”My fiancé got on the phone and Tried to stick up for me, saying “we are repeat customers and spend money and always tip your servers. She said “sir, I don’t want to talk to you.” And said we need to stop yelling at her, which we weren’t. Then she hung up on us.This is how you are treated by the staff and managers at the North Reading Dairy Queen.I suggest not wasting your money and time waiting in ridiculously long lines and give the ice cream place place up the road your business instead. They are friendlier there and value their customers.
Heaven in a cone? Yah..it feels like that...Theres something about an old school Dairy Queen that no new super trendy, cow to cone, organically friendly ice cream store can match. Perhaps the magic livesin that wonderfully smooth soft serve topped with a delicious crunchy cherry dip, or maybe your magic unfolds amidst a peanut butter cup or M&M Blizzard indulgence. Regardless, in North Reading this old school hang out is a magically powerful respite from the summer heat, or a lousy day at work. Transform your day and bring back wonderful memories of past summers with the North Reading Dairy Queen. Remember, they close early (9pm) and you may not hit the cut off...especially if you arrive shortly before closing, so plan accordingly and arrive by at least 8:30 pm.
Quick great service
Delish sundaes cones.good soft.serve.good counter help.
This N. Reading store was crowded on a warm evening--but the staff did an efficient as well as friendly job of serving us all promptly!
Poor customer service. Girl at window said shed be right back, and never came back. Only 1 window open. 2 people dipping ice cream in back but not helping poor kid at the window who was slammed. Priority is your live customers!
A flash back to my youth. This DQ does not sell the full menu. Basically it is all the ice cream products sorry no burgers.
I am a HUGE fan of DQ, but I will NEVER go back to the North Reading location. I ordered a blizzard tonight and it was made incorrectly. No big deal, right? They will just make another one as I ordered it. Not happening in North Reading!!! I was told they would make another blizzard, but I would have to pay for it. What??? It what universe does this make any sense. The customer orders something, the business makes a mistake and does it incorrectly, but the customer not only pays for the incorrect one, but has to pay again to get it right??? I was told that this was the managers policy. THE MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!! I left without a blizzard and informed the staff that I would not be back to their reply of thats okay. Unbelievable!! This should be zero stars, but had to select one in order to post.
Yummy soft serve ice cream mixed with almost anything.
Good spot during the day crowded and tuff parking at nite.
Disappointed the management has one person working the window. Two days in a row...waited very long. How unfair to the overworked single person making 7 blizzards one order.
Ice Cream was good, the huge rat by the back dumpster, not so much
First DQ dip of the summer,
Love dq awesome ice cream and blizzards
Dairy Queen has the best ice cream around. Worth the ride
Very convenient place. Good ice cream.
I paid for a blizzard here and they never made it. Wouldnt make another after I asked them too. Horrible service. Do not go there.
Why arent there more DQs?
Ice cream only location nice workerd
Every time I get a blizzard from DQ they never put enough cookies or candy in it. Theres a young guy there with an attitude that acts like he doesnt want to be there. Whenever he takes my order he always messes up. I asked him for a smores blizzard with marshmallow filling and he only made it with gram crackers. Ive asked him for a brownie/caramel blizzard he put the caramel in the very bottom (didnt blend it well) and obviously not enough brownie. Whenever he works there I have to ask him for a shake because he doesnt screw that up. Its cash only which is ridiculous and they dont accept any other DQ gift cards.
Great evening treat. Friendly staff. Beware, the small cone is huge!!
Nothing bats Dairy Queen ice cream.!
Does not have a full menu (burgers etc) ice cream only. And they are closed during the winter months
Trash place. Employees rude, had no idea what they were doing. Payed for ice cream and never received it. Claimed they already gave it out. I spoke to the manager and she was horribly rude when I talked about it with her. Cash only, would not recommend.
Not very good service, only takes cash, and prices are ridiculous.
Decent soft serve type place. No food.
They sure dont skimp on the portion sizes.
Felt like I did as a kid! Great dipped cones!
Delicious sundaes!! Line moves fast.
Best soft serve ice cream in the land.
Typical DQ but no seating. Eat in your car. Long lines all summer.
Loved the free cone day.
Cash only. Great for a quick treat.
Does not take credit cards, but it takes forever to make 2 blizzards.
No napkins for a child getting a dripped cone
