Website says they deal with gold and silver and the site says to call with any questions. Called twice to ask if they have any gold and/or silver. Got hung up on both times for no clear reason. Originally thought the first time was a mistake, after the second I just realized that’s how they do business. Weird.

Best pawn shop in the city by far, I feel like I’m home when I walk in, I love the owner, nicest guy, gives the best deals, they check everything out so I’ve never had to return anything but I know they would take anything back. Seriously half my studio is from these guys. As a broke Musician this place means a lot to me, I can’t believe anyone would give them anything but great reviews, I can never pass this place without stopping.

Once i found these guys few years back about 6years actually and im from an hour away. I dont deal with nobody else..there always fair and ive bought tools from them and ive sold them things when i was in medical need...its been a year since ive been back but my dad and i both want to make stop soon and look around!! Great place to find what youre looking for at a deal. Theyll always work with you on the listed price and if youre selling try and help you out the best they can. Overall fair place if you are buying or selling. Will definitely refer others.

It seemed like the pricing was a bit all over the place, but I was able to find an extremely high quality product for a great price. It required about 30 dollars worth of parts on my end, but was well worth it. The gentleman behind the counter was a pretty nice guy

I cant imagine how anyone could have a poor experience here. I went in for the first time yesterday as I was in need for some quick cash. After explaining my situation to Paul, who I believe is the owner, he went out of his way and did everything to help me get through a difficult time. While what I had didnt yield the amount I needed his offer was more than fair. Today I stopped in again and asked him for a favor which wasnt an ordinary request and he again helped me. Most places wouldnt even consider my offer but Paul, sympathetic to my situation, went out of his way to help me through this difficult time. I cant thank Paul or the people at Fat Pocket enough. Needless to say they have a customer for life. Additionally I would never hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. While in the shop, browsing their inventory I saw tons of great deals and cant wait to come back once I get paid. Thank you Fat Pocket for helping me through a difficult situation!

The gentleman who seemed to be the owner was very helpful and friendly. A friend from out of town was in a jam and looking for a very short term loan and he did everything he could to help out. Doesnt seem to be many pawn shops in this part of PA and of the few there are I cant imagine any being as friendly and helpful as this place. Any of the shops we spoke with or stopped into were not only not helpful, they were arrogant in demeanor and downright rude. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Their inventory was diverse in nature and price point was more than reasonable. I cannot say enough positive aspects of this locally owned business. Very appreciative of them!

A friend told me about an autographed Dan Marino Pitt Jersey that interested me so I stopped by the store about 30 minutes ago. WOW!! That was a huge waste of time. I browsed the store for about 15 minutes or so then made my way up to the front counter and it seemed like 3 people were working, 1 customer and another guy sounded like he was a regular and might have been just hanging out.So I looked at 5-6 items within 5 steps of all 3 people behind the counter and was never even greeted in any way, shape or form!! I even asked my son a question to give the folks a chance to jump in the conversation but still nothing. Finally, I had enough and politely said Thank you for all your help and have a nice day!! I think I at least got a and you too back.Needless to say Ill never spend a penny in there and hopefully you wont either! I dont need the VIP treatment but at least acknowledge Im there!!

Sometimes its hard to get waited on in there. Sometimes they negotiate on price and sometimes they dont. We drove down from Latrobe recently and waited for 30 minutes with no service. That was disappointing.

I have no idea how/why these guys are still in business. Anything music gear related is marked up 30% more than the NEW COST. I dont even want to make them an offer with prices like that. Most of their items are marked up that much....at least the ones that I have knowledge in. Then when you try to sell, they shoot you a ridiculously low offer...that much I expected.

So I walk in holding stereo equipment and the guy behind the counter just stares at me...... Doesnt say a word, just stares. Probably mad that I interrupted the movie he was watching on his laptop. Finally after what feels like an eternity, he speaks letting me know he actually works there and isnt a janitor. After spending all of about 20 seconds to look up the merchandise I brought in, he tells me its not worth anything........ My guess is the guy didnt want to be bothered to hook up the speakers (if he even knew how) to test them out. Save yourself the hassle and either sell it yourself or just burn your merchandise before taking it to this dumpster.

And if you don’t know the value of what you are selling to negotiate the price then you are the idiot.What a loser. You can’t expect someone to buy something for more than they can sell it for and put out their cash and hope that someone else wants to buy what you got rid of. Grow up.Stop bashing reputable places.

I have dealt with this pawn shop on quite a few occasions making purchases. I find that they are not really negotiable on their prices. I just purchased a pair of sterling silver small generic hoop earrings and was charged $15 for them and the same pair of earrings I found at Walmart for 10. I asked if he would go down to 12 on the earrings and he said no it was 15 which did include tax. Also, I am looking to have a baguette replaced in my diamond ring and for a small baguette he said it could be anywhere from 20 up to $100 and I have had someone else, that replaced a small diamond for me, only charging 20 at most.

NEVER shop here. All the 1 star reviews are perfectly accurate. The owners (fat guy that limps, and his ginger minion aka the genetic mistake all the other 1 star reviews also despise ) super shady. They straight prey on poor people in the community, talk about their customers the minute they leave, and have zero business owning a business. Any review over 2 stars reads like a paid advertisement, ny famiky and freinds. Its obvious they are fake, atleast they resd like they are. 30 bad reviews cant all be wrong....youve been warned.You would get more use of your used items chucking them in the river than you will from the laughable offers they make. If you want to donate your stuff to people that treat customers and people fallen on hard times like trash, this is the place for you.

The staff is just rude and beyond ignorant. They talk about customers and the prices are not even close to being fair. For a business to treat customers the way they do is appalling. The only semi positive thing is Paul. Paul is willing to work with you but the younger guy is just rude and really has no business dealing with or talking to the general public.

I can honestly say that all these reviews are absolutely spot on. When I went in there the walk around the head of Makita cordless drill used fair condition with one battery and the charger no case. He wanted $150 and would not budge on the price. I went back 3 days later to sell Makita impact cordless drill with a battery, case and charger. In it was in almost new condition Barely Used. When I walked in the door and set it on the counter he said those arent worth anything Ill give you fifty bucks for it, so I said theres a gentleman you have the same drill except for mines impact and yours is just a regular drill and youre selling it for $150. He just walked away started mumbling under his breath to his other employees. You should really be reported to the Better Business Bureau because he is completely ripping people off. I have witnessed him buying stuff cash without taking ID or anything which obviously means it was a shady deal. But thats just my opinion.

The guy with the red hair is just downright rude. And for no reason at all. I was very polite and he was just rude the whole time. Dont waste your time with them. They are overwhelmed and big babies.

Personally i was treated like a piece of crap here, i had a few authentic hockey and football jerseys i wanted to sell, the owner or worker at the time brushed me off and did not even want to look at what i had, they only wanted bling gold and jewlery. dont waste your time going here.
