Always a friendly staff and the best inventory Ive seen of any Newbury comics store.

This place was awesome. Took my 14-year-old grandson there to look for some vinyl albums for his collection. He found some that he could not find anywhere else and at really good prices. They had a lot of cool merchandise so we walked around for a while. CDs, Funko Pop, t-shirts.We were both happy we made the trip.... We will be going back again...

For only ~9 shelves of manga, I was surprised by the amount of underrated, reasonably-priced manga I found (especially as a shoujo reader), though unfortunately most first volumes were sold out. Also had a surprising amount of BTS merch you cant find at Target (Seasons Greetings, Memories, etc.). Stuffed animals cost an arm and a leg tho :( it was $30 for one on a little keychain

Great store! They have lots to look at and buy. The arent to expensive so thats a big plus. They also have wonderful customer service. Id definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back for some vinyls and body jewelery.

Nice clean place with a pretty good variety.

I went there to pick up X-Men Legends issues 1 and 2, and they are taking covid very seriously. Only about 10 people in at once and you have to follow the arrows on floor, like the usual stuff. But what Im happy for most is the people, both customers and staff. All were wearing masks and were social distancing without a problem. Staff was very helpful in pointing me towards the comics and which ones were where. Only thing is that the prices for Pokemon cards were a bit higher than I could afford, but I cant blame them due to all of the scalpers buying most of them to the point where theyre out of stock. Amazing comic store, and has all of the nerdy stuff you could want. I also give them props for having records from Foo fighters, Pearl Jam, and others even outside of the rock category that Newbury Comics in my area dont have. 10/10 would go again!

These are dark and dangerous times and the employees clearly take their roll in protecting the community from further covid outbreak seriously. I dont like those pop toys though, itd be cool if those werent a thing anymore and the space was used for more local art stuff or records or more employee favorite kinda stuff, anything but those pop figures

The store is awesome, great atmosphere. It is always exciting to find deals on clothes, movies, music, comics and more. No reason not to check it out! Plus, COVID-wise the store/staff are very conscious and responsible.

(Review only pertinent to the record store) This was bound to happen: capitalism meets nostalgia. It fails as a record store and as a community building exercise. If you like to buy things and records came as an interesting option, then sure. If you really like the idea of music as some sort of liberation or even escape (“I listen to music to get away from my problems”), please don’t encourage this... Their collection is not too bad, but the labels and the prices only reiterate the place of the consumer that the very music they’re selling is trying to escape. No store is free from that dooming paradox, but I hope that music can be better than that. The insistence on “sales” or “top 40” valued the object over the music. Might as well listen to it on Spotify, everything on the store you will find there.

Great selection of music, movies and gifts. Pet friendly. They LOVED my dog and allowed him in the store. One staff member was very friendly and helpful, the other was a bit of a grouch. But its holiday shopping season, so Im allowing a bit of a pass in that regard.

Loved we could still browse for treasured items as a family while adhering to Covid-19 guidelines. One of our favorite drive to mini adventures!

Disappointed that the clerk was so not customer friendly. It was my job to do everything he couldnt just stood. Ask me to turn up all the barcodes. Probably would have just rather have a customer scan system.

The atmosphere of the store, the friendliness of the employees and the selection of comics and various collectibles.

Newbury comics continues to expand its range of diverse and interesting merchandise. When I stopped by there this thanksgiving, I was pleased to find that they had expanded to carrying used vinyl, rather than brand new represses. I was able to find nice guitar strings, headphones, and even a pin I liked- the variety in products is definitely their strong suit. If you want to do some nerdy shopping or browsing, this is the place to check out in Northampton.

It was quite comical, I saw this lady fly up in the air about 6-7 feet and did a complete flip and land on her side outside the store. She did NOT get hurt. The guy driving the car was afraid he was going to get sued so that was pretty funny. I guess I have a sick sense of humor? LOL

God variety and decently priced for vinyl. Good T-shirt selection. Lots of Pops and other poo culture action figures. A bit of a hipster vibe in the store though and while the other merch is great I was really just looking for a traditional record store which is why I give instead of 5 stars.

I go to Newbury comics to see whats new and cheap, focusing on comic books and Funko Pop figures. They have an extensive supply of vinyl records. I was able to get wonder twins 1-4 for the cover price of $3.99 each. The store is nice and I like going there.

Cool store with many different things you wont find all that easily. However they are a bit pricier than I had hoped. When an item is on clearance though it definitely is marked down thoroughly.

Newbury comics is pretty great, especially this one. I just wish they carried more King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard stuff, and kept more manga in stock. Kinda sucks when you want to get into a new manga and they have the first book, then from sixth book onwards.

The music collection is extremely poor and the service people never ask me if I need help or anything. As a long time customer, this place has really gone downhill. None of the bands I listen to are ever in the extremely small music section. Its like who ever picks the music there has no clue what people even listen to anymore (or care). It went from whats cool to toys-r-us for adults. WHERE IS THE MUSIC?

Newberry Comics is a cool store. They have alot of music, clothes, hats, backpacks . The list goes on, plus they started their business in Massachusetts. They used to have live music in Boston . Im not sure if they still do. They should think about doing something like that here in Northampton.?? Cool store, people who work there are really friendly. Check it out.!

Although I dont live near Newbury Commons I always enjoy stopping by when Im in the area. They have a lot of different things that arent available in a regular areas store. They constantly have new used DVDs and CDs at lower prices which I enjoy. They also have a good selection of posters and t-shirts all of which I imagine make cents in a college town.

Ive enjoyed Newbury Comics since the 80s when I used to visit it on Newbury street. Great place for Music, Comics and pop culture stuff, t-shirts and hats all kinds of fun stuff...

They have a great selection of graphic novels and to a certain extent comics. The store is nicely organized and clean. The staff was very friendly. I will return again when Im in the area!

Always a wide variety of selection of music on multiple platforms when I go. Never been disappointed with it there. Staff is friendly and Ive never heard anyone complain.

Easily one of the best record selections for a Newbury Comics besides Norwood. The staff is friendly friendly, attentive, and its great seeing a Newbury Comics that is able to maintain a high level of media selections in 2017. Definitely worth a stop if youre visiting the Northampton area.

This is less a comics shop and more a records shop but more so a Novelty shop with toys posters and merchandise from just about any sub pop culture you can think of. From Dr. Who to Marvel to a little bit of Anime.Backpacks and novelty clothing is also on deck. They have decreased their DVD collection side as more and more modern viewing has shifted to Downloads.

Keep reading and rocking and collecting weird stuff!*****************************The staff at this remaining Western MA Newbury location have been on site or in the area for years and years.. theyre familiar not only with the varying cultures and attitudes of the local music scene, but they also have a handle on whats making noise around the country and the globe... oh yeah, as the name suggests but few of the locations actually cater to, the comic book section here is fairly robust and there is a number of longtime readers on staff. Newbury Comics predicted the path of the music industry in the 2000s...and thats why theyre still around and still the best.

Nice small store, has all the classic newburry comics nerdy gear! They have a very decent vinyl collection at this location ranging from the classics to modern hits! Great place to grab gifts for someone or get yourself some little gift. Overall the prices are not that bad and service is usually pretty friendly.

One of the best Newburys out there, and unlike some they have a great vinyl selection. They also keep the record store snobbery to a minimum unlike some of their other locations. No trip to Northampton is complete without a visit to them, and Turn it Up across the street. At least for me.

My favorite comic and chachki store. The staff there are some of the best Ive met. Kind, accommodating, friendly, and they try to familiarize themselves with your tastes if youre a regular. They go out of their way to provide what you want, and do so with a smile!

A fund place to buy cool collectibles. I love their large collection of rare vinyl records and movies. There are not that many places like this left and it is a shame.

Great selection of Funko Pop but lackluster selection of comic back issues (Essentially one corner). It just depends on what youre looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful despite my disappointment in comic book selection.

This is a great Newbury Comics.They have CDs, DVDs, comics, hip clothes that Im too old to wear, toys and collectables, a shelf of hip kid books, and records.I love their record section. It is pretty large.They have a large selection of used media as well.On a previous review I had spoken badly of their used vinyl, that is no longer valid, the used vinyl here is amazing now, both selection and quality.Be sure to sign up for their email list. It will keep you up to date on sales.
