The Drinks are the Bomb and the bartenders and staff are amazing to us customers! I am definitely coming back here for food and drinks on my next visit!!

Short walk from any of the public lots or side street parking. Walked in and wasnt aware it was a counter service type ordering process which wasnt a problem. The woman at the counter was very helpful and welcoming. Placed our order after some guidance and recommendations including a couple of margaritas. The menu can be somewhat overwhelming your first time. After ordering youre given a number to post at your table. They will then bring it to you once its done. Service was quicker than expected considering it was the Saturday night rush. Be sure to grab some salsa from the salsa bar before sitting. We sat outside on a beautiful evening and all four of us really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Plentiful portions and nothing was over salted which tends to be a challenge with other Mexican restaurants. The margaritas were VERY generously poured... Lol. Nice place and we will be back.

4 star food, 1 star drinks. Margarita on the rocks is worse than what I made in college. Tastes like Rose’s lime juice. Maybe the frozens are better?

This is my FAVORITE Mexican place. The food is very authentic and reasonably priced. The margs are DELICIOUS and the portions are pretty large. The guacamole is also very tasty. I have loved every menu item I’ve ordered. They have homemade salsa which is very tasty. On busy days the service can be slower but that’s to be expected. Definitely recommend checking out this place for a good meal.

BEST MEXICAN PLACE IN ALL OF WESTERN MASS!! The food is ALWAYS fresh and the meats are so tender and beautifully seasoned. They have very large portions for a reasonable price and the people who work there treat you very nicely. I always feel very comfortable when i come here. Great place! 10/10 recommend

Great quality meal with fantastic flavor. I had the Burrito Especial with chicken and the wife had Enchiladas with potatoes and carrots. She rarely cleans her plate but she destroyed the enchiladas. She’s not a vegetarian but loves veggies. She Loved the potatoes and carrots in the enchiladas. Who knew?I was a bit surprised by the prices. But the meal was fantastic.

If you want phenomenal food, this is your place. The salsa is amazing, and the tacos are so legit. Try the Mahi Mahi ones! The chiles rellenos are dope. Literally this place is so good!!

They are a mess tonight. Way behind on everyone’s order. I placed a pickup order two hours ago, came at the appointed time, it’s not ready. It’s not close to ready. I’m not the only one. Clearly understaffed in the kitchen. Food smells god though, just a bad bet if you have a tight timing window.

The staff were friendly and very helpful with the menu and selecting drinks.All the dishes were so delicious and well plated.

We usually really love this place, they have excellent food and generally kind staff but we were really disappointed by their lack of cleanliness, especially with COVID. Tables arent being cleaned and are left dirty, dirty napkins on the floor, and the highchairs were coated in old food. It wasnt even a rush time. Just didnt feel safe unfortunately. Cleaning tables seems like a minimum that could be done.

UPDATE: Generally I love this place and would give it 5 stars every time i visit — and their fish tacos and tamales are the best I’ve ever had.BUT I just had their mole chicken plate and it was horribly overcooked, dry, barely any flavor in the sauce. Like, very bad. 😭 stay away from that one, but get the tamales!

The employees had a tearable attitude and it was like they were taking it out on me! And to add insult to injury my food when it finally got to me was ice cold and looked like a pile of &#$*

Dont go here the help has a bad attitude and my burrito looked like puke on the inside.

Tiny place, big menu! Everything was fresh and tasty, and I got to watch them making it all. The place wasnt quite full but the chefs were quite busy and it took a while just to order.

I’m from California and lived for a time in Texas, so finding good Mexican food in New England is hard. Veracruzana is the closest I’ve gotten since I moved here and one of my go-to restaurants in town. The enchiladas suizas is excellent. And glass bottle cokes!Now I’m hungry.

I moved to MA 20 yrs ago. For years I used to enjoy eating here a lot. I had not been here for a few years and was looking forward to coming back. I was very dissappointed. The food had changed a lot. I ordered tacos al pastor. They were burned and didnt have the flavor I miss from my years of visiting Mexico. The jamaica tasted like garlic and had too much sugar. My daughter liked her chicken tacos, though. The person who waited on us was very pleasant.

So good. I got the beef tacos and chorizo quesadilla. The tacos were good but the chorizo quesadillas were amazing like I’m going to go back a lot to get them. The portion of quesadillas is three and pretty large. I really appreciate that they label what’s gf on the door dash menu too.

I went one time, first and last. The pupusas were such a disappointment, drove 30mins and got burnt pupusas. I recommend El Comalito in Easthampton, it was 30 min drive but the pupusas were so delicious.

The margaritas are amazing but the tacos (soft) have no taste or flavor. It was better to take out what was inside the taco. The soft taco tortilla has no flavor.

There is a large selection of options here, and a lot of gluten free options. the inside is pretty small, so expect to either wait for seating or get take-out and bring it home if its busy. the mole sauce on enchiladas was excellent, and the meats in our entrees were fresh, and the salsas were all pretty unique.everybody thought their meals were either very good or excellent, and the price was very inexpensive. I always love it when you find a small hole-in-the-wall place that serves excellent food. This is definitely one of them.

They were open at 11 on a Sunday. It was our first visit. I had the pulled chicken burrito bowl.My husband had 2 soft tacos, one beef and one pulled chicken with a side of refried beans and rice. The portions were large, made to order. Everything was delicious. The tortillas that they used for their soft tacos were homemade. And the chips were lightly salted yumminess. They have 6 different types of salsa, all are free.

Great food at great prices. Got the chicken tamale rice and guack and flan and washed it down with a house margarita. Nice laid back no hurry atmosphere lets you wind down and decompress. Were happy we stopped in and will definitely stop in again when in the area.

The yummiest, authentic Mexican cuisine. Soooo reasonable.

A couple of burritos will keep my kids quiet for a few minutes. So we get take out often and have eight to ten minutes of peace.

Fresh, authentic, and easy on the stomach! I have digestive issues and this is the only Mexican restaurant I can eat at without having issues. Love it.

The food was alright, nothing to go out of my way for, but the service was just awful. I called ahead to place an order and arrived when they told me it would be ready, only to find out they hadnt even begun cooking it. A staff member assured me that it would only take about 15-minutes or so, which ended up taking almost 45 minutes. The most egregious part to me was that all the staff members kept telling every customer that walked in that they are slammed and would take an addition 10-15 minutes for their pick up order which was an obviously a lie. Regardless of their in-house problems, its bad practice to lie to customers and not show an ounce of remorse for the inconvenience created.

Enjoyable and really appreciated the outside dining and not being turned away for not wearing a mask. They respected my privacy and were pleasant

By FAR the absolute best Mexican place I have ever been to. Margaritas are divine, the food is even better as it has the feel of that home-cooked meal. Dont forget to get some chips and guacamole, as well as some of their famous salsas to spread on your food! A MUST if you are ever in Amherst - you will not regret it.

Travelers, this is the place to go for Mexican in the area. It is a straight forward no frills Mexican restaurant. The food is fantastic. I recommend the chicken mole if the have it available that day. The chicken tortilla soup is delicious and the seafood is is always fresh. The shrimp and rice dishes are our some of our favorite menu items. For a great Mexican meal at a reasonable price stop here if you are in the area.

I’ve been here more than twenty times, and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is always served quickly and tastes amazing. There is a salsa bar where you can choose from a wide variety of flavors and spice levels for any kind of taste. In my opinion, this is the best Mexican restaurant in Amherst, period.P.S. If you haven’t had Horchata, have it. It’s a sweet drink that is the perfect pair to spicy food, and a great addition to any food.

La Vera has been a part of Northampton for many years more than 20 years. They have really good authentic Mexican food at a good price!. Good vibe staff is really friendly. Definitely check this place out if you want really good Mexican food!

For someone who was never a big fan of Mexican style food, this place was a pleasant surprise. I stumbled upon the place in the pursuit of something different, and despite not really knowing what was what what I chose (a simple chicken sandwich) ended up being DELICIOUS. I mean seriously...well worth it. If someone that doesnt always have a palette for this kind of cuisine likes the food here, those more versed in this type of food should love it. Only gave a four because Im so new to this type of food.

This place was amazing. Large menu nice people. The menu is overwhelming at first. Luckily my son was with me and guided me to the burrito selections. As you can see by the photo they are large. You get your salsa from the selection at the salsa bar. If you like really good Mexican cuisine try this place out

The food here is terrific and it comes out fast. Their drinks are very reasonably priced but not skimpy. Im no authority on authenticity but it certainly seems to be more authentic than other places like it in the area.Ill definitely be going back for a third trip and probably many more.

Cute atmosphere. Definitely not authentic Mexican cuisine. They use white cheddar as the cheese. I can cook better Mexican food at home myself, but will suffice and curb the appetite for Mexican food while in this town

Its pretty ok. I enjoy the Northampton one a bit better though.

I ordered the steak carnitas burrito with rice, cheese, lettuce, beans, sour cream and hot sauce. What I got was a burrito with a pound of rice, minimal lettuce, sour cream at one end, no hot sauce, a can of refried beans and I found two shreds of steak. Like I deconstructed the burrito to find some beef. My son ordered the shredded chicken burrito with the same toppings and found the same thing with his. My daughter ordered the chicken burrito with similar toppings and hers was the same as ours. We got the fun queso appetizer and what came was an oily, string cheesy pizza topping in a cast iron dish. The only thing that was decent was the guacamole, I didnt have it but the boy did, and the salsa from the salsa bar was good. Not what I had expected for a $59 lunch. I do not recommend.

The decor is not fancy or fine, but the atmosphere is eclectic, and homey in its way. But the real attraction here is the authentic Mexican cuisine thats served up fresh every day. They have an extensive menu on the board, so come prepared to read! There is no table service, so you order at the counter, and then wait until they call your name, or as often as not, your order.Two items in particular I need to point out. First, if you love mole sauce (or have never tasted it), this is one of the best Ive had. I rarely stray from ordering a mole dish (although, having just discovered theyd shrimp tacos, Im rethinking this). Second, their selection of homemade salsas. They have a hot salsa that, while not being overly heated, has an unusual burnt taste to it that I cant resist (they also have a diablo that DOES pack some punch.Go. You wont regret it.

Margaritas are great but the food is insanely overpriced. Cheese enchiladas (no meat, just bread and cheese) with a small side of rice and bean paste is $13!

While it is not the cheapest counter service Mexican place in the Valley, the selection and variety makes this more exciting and delicious than your average burrito joint or taqueria. Great, fresh salsa bar and good selection of Mexican beverages (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic). We love the enchiladas with great filling and sauce options; our picky eaters enjoy the beans and rice and quesadillas. Terrific for vegetarians/vegans, fish lovers, Mexican food lovers who like options

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Massachusetts. The food is incredibly authentic even though it is a little bit expensive. The quality of the food is also the absolute best that it could be. Most individual ingredients are clearly made from scratch most importantly the sauces and salsas. Dont get me started on the salsa; I think I could go here every day and eat only salsa if I could. They have six or seven varieties all made from scratch and all unique and authentic in flavor. their food is so good I have made a point to often try something from the menu I have never had before; to this end I have discovered some amazing dishes and have never been disappointed.

This is the best place to get Mexican food in the area. I go here all the time and OMG they are amazing. There burritos are wonderful, so are the tacos and the tamales. They also have am amazing salsa bar. Their mild salsa is the best Ive ever had. If you are around their locations in Northampton, Easthampton, or Amherst you should definitely stop by for either lunch or dinner. Or just get a few tacos or quesadillas as a snack.
