Great haircut and lots of products. Good value for the salon, but the products are pretty expensive. Overall a positive experience!
I like this shop. People are very friendly and are always eager to help. Selection of makeup, skin care, hair and bath products is huge. I always found in stock what I was looking for. I have been going here for years, but I tried their beauty services yesterday for the first time. I booked a haircut with Samantha. Online booking is super easy and convenient and I got an appointment for the next day. Samantha was awesome and I love my new hair!

Every time I go into this Ulta location every single person working there is always incredibly helpful. They dont just try to sell you the most expensive thing they actually listen to what you want and give you what you need.
I did a return for items purchased in store that I paid cash for, I also wanted to exchange a product I had purchased online. The rude chic behind the counter did all the products on one return and put it back on a card I do not own. The cash I paid was $60 here it is a month later and numerous calls to the store and even customer service who have done NOTHING!! So now I have no product and no refund. I will never go to this location or any others for that matter ever again and my friends agree!! Now I know why I like Sephora better!! I just want my damn money!!
After shoulder surgery I discovered that blow drying hair is definitely a two handed job....and I cant use one of mine. Went to Ulta this afternoon for shampoo and blow out. It looks and feels amazing. Will definitely be coming back!
Horrible experience with a unnecessarily rude salesperson...This past Friday, I went in to this Ulta store to return a couple of products that did not work out for me. It was my day off, so I was not dressed to impress (no makeup and gym clothes).When I walked into the store, there was only one cashier at the closest register to the door and I did not see anybody else in line, so I waited to return my items behind the person who was checking out, rather than walking to the other end of the sales counter to wait in line. While I was waiting, a few people got in the main check-out line, so another cashier came to the counter to help. She asked for the next in line and I walked up to her register, saying I had to return a couple of things and exchange an item. Without missing a beat, she looked me up and down and asked the other people in line if I had been next. The woman next in line looked confused and said yes, I saw her waiting before me. The sales lady then proceeded to ask AGAIN if I had been next in line, without looking at me, as if I was offending her with my presence. Finally, she rolled her eyes and asked how she could help me. I repeated that I needed to return a couple of items and wanted to exchange another item.After proceeding through the returns (shampoo and conditioner), I then reminded her that the foundation applicator I was returning (it broke after only a couple weeks of use) was one I wanted to exchange. She said nothing, so I quickly grabbed a new one and brought it over to the sales register, asking AGAIN if I could exchange for a new one. She gave me a weird look and said I thought you were returning it? I said yes, but I wanted to exchange it for a new one because I liked the product. She then seemed irritated and said I did not think this was up to YOUR standards. W...T...FAs much as I wanted to throw back at her (and I kind of wish I had) well, your attitude is not up to my standards, I smiled politely, said I was willing to give the product a second chance, paid and left.Before this encounter, I had been planning to do some more shopping in the store after making my returns, but if Im going to be instantly judged for how Im dressed or look, then I am not going to bother and do not plan on returning to this location. I love Ulta and the products they offer, but management at this location clearly needs to provide training in unconscious bias or help some people get an attitude adjustment.

I went to the Ulta beauty salon for the first time today. Tatiana was my stylist and I couldnt be happier. She did exactly what I had asked. This is probably the best haircut Ive had in years. I will definitely be back to see Tatiana and my future haircuts. All the employees I came in contact with were very professional.
The best part of any cosmetics store is their staffs. This Ulta store’s staffs are really friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve been there many times and they were always the same apart from once at the cashier. I consider that random as most of them are very friendly. Their collection is huge too. Returns are easy and I missed my birthday gift. So called them ahead to ask can I come (the next month) as they didn’t have my gift during my birthday month, the staff told me she is going to inform all the staffs that they are expecting someone to come to get her birthday gift which was in last month. I was surprised at this. When I went there and asked them about the gift, the staff said oh yes, though she wasn’t the one I spoke too. I always rate Sephora’s customer service higher than Ulta. But especially this store’s service made me believe both Ulta and Sephora are on same the same level.
I love this place for beauty products where they are buying your favorite shampoo they have all the professional brands which are a little bit more expensive but they often have special like buy one get one 50% off but they also have the less expensive brands as well. They have brushes they have blow dryers they have different hair irons I also like that they have a good selection of makeup including some gluten free and vegan which Ive tried the lipstick and I really love it. They also have different variety again really depends on how much you want to spend but they have low to high range in skin care products so I would definitely recommend it and they have people walking the floor if you have any questions to help you.

When you ask for an eye cream to help with puffiness, as a sales associate, it’s probably better if you don’t say, “Most of the time, that puffiness is just fat so I’m not sure there’s much that will help with that.” Even if that’s true, find a better way to communicate that. Most people here are nice but no one seems to care that much about service. There’s a fair amount of ambivalence among the workers. Cashiers are usually the most helpful people here for some reason.
Ulta has everything you will need from fragrances, hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons, etc. Cosmetics galore🌹Ulta is my favorite store for beauty. ❤️ Plenty of parking, bathroom, people are friendly and very helpful. Prices are steep, but worth it.

I went to this store to take a 30 minutes makeup lesson, when I got there the makeup artist who was booked to teach me insisted that in 30 minutes she wouldnt be able to teach me anything, I kept telling her that I didnt want to spend more money or stay there for one hour, she kept saying that she could only teach me one aspect of my faces, for instance just my eyes and that ecen focusing in one aspect she could not teach me everything. Since it is very hard for me to get free time from home and my two kids I decided to do the one hour makeup. I learned nothing from 1 hour $60 lesson, she did a very basic makeup even after I told her I was there to learn how to do a dramatic look. She put a timer on that she kept looking at all times but never stopped the timer when she went to grab the products to use on me and spend 5 to 7 minutes each time. I ended up with a terrible makeup, taking around 35 minutes lesson because of all the time she used getting products. Also I didnt like that when you ask for recommendations all the staff in the store recommend the most expensive ones even when you tell them you are looking for something affordable, and if you find something cheap on your on and you ask them if that productis good for you, they say that they dont use it and they dont know. The person who was teaching how to do my makeup was constantly mentioning my skin tone, that she couldnt do this ir that because of my skin tone, also was offering to do more things on me like applying eyelashes or do my brows at an extra charge. I like the store and all the products but I will never get a service here and I will make sure I know what I want before going there so I dont have to ask the staff for recommendations.
I was greeted as soon as I stepped in the door...friendly..inviting..eager to help if u had questions...not in a bombarding way..I strolled around..so many products..for EVERYTHING! this place is Fabulous! Nice selection of high end purfumes.. My favorite was the self beauty isle...😁 face masks Galore..under eye treatments..by the way works miracles.. Also had foot booties to pamper ur feet..I love this place! A bit of everything your hair..skin..desires!
The staff at this Ulta are extremely rude. I was in looking for a certain foundation which they did not carry. Instead of trying to find me something similar to a product they said was no longer available (not even through the brands website) I was given attitude. The girl assisting me looked at me and ask “you actually like that?” If I didn’t then I wouldn’t have drove 30 minutes to get it. They said they had nothing for me of I liked that foundation. Thankfully I can use google and found the foundation from the brand directly as well as other recommendations for a similar product. Apparently I’m better off shopping at home then walking into the Northborough Ulta.

I love this Ulta, they always have everything Im looking in stock. But the one thing I dont like is some of the employees lack customer service. Theres this one lady in Lancome that always look miserable when someone ask her for help. She was rude to me once as well. They also have a new young Male employee that is beyond obnoxious and made my last shopping experience awful. I ask him for a particular makeup brush cleaner and there was none on the shelf, he wouldnt even go check in the back for me. But instead suggest another more expensive brand that I know is terrible. When I went to check out he was talking so loud having a side conversation with another co worker. So unprofessional. Ulta please bring some enthusiastic people into this location looking to actually service customers in a pleasant way.
This store has everything!!! Its very clean and organized with an upscale feel (maybe thats just how salons are but Im not familiar with them).

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.I called the Northborough location as I had a question regarding a previous purchase I made; in which I was under the impression the sale price was not honored upon making the purchase.When I called the store a young lady answered, prior to giving her the low down as to why I was calling; I asked her what her name was, she said Ashley. I then properly addressed her and informed her why I was calling. She said give me one moment while I pull that up in the system.There was a brief moment of silence, followed by a gentleman who picked up the phone saying hello. I assumed Ashley passed the phone along to someone else, but was not sure so I said excuse me? he then said how can I help you. I then asked What is your name love? He said I am the general manager. How can I help you? I stated I had a question regarding a previous purchase, and asked again for his name and informed him it was just so I was able to properly address him. We had to have gone back and fourth for a good for minutes, he was EXTREMELY reluctant to provide his name. I was and still am beside myself. I have no idea why this was such a BIG issue, especially if you are a GM of a store. He asked why I was being so vague with my question and proceeded to randomly read me off the return policy. I informed him that I was not being vague, nor was I illiterate and perfectly capable of reading the back of the receipt.I honestly got tired of going back and fourth I then told him what my concern was, which was simple:I made a purchase on 1/2/1019 I was doing my book keeping and reviewing all of my purchases and realized the shampoo and conditioner I purchased was more than I thought the sale price stated at the time. My call to the store was to verify what the sale price was on that particular date, before I drove 30 minutes to get an adjustment. He told me I would be able to look at a catalog from that date to verify. (I do not receive catalogs from Ulta, and if I did I sure wouldnt be storing them on my coffee table for display.) I told him I do not have any catalogs, I then asked him if he would be able to check back for me, he stated he could not. Which is an absolute lie, because the same issue happened to a girlfriend of mine at Ulta, and they were able to check in the back. Whether is was a binder of all previous catalogs or a system, I am not sure but they were able to verify the sale price. Which she was told by a manager at the time that a product she was going to purchase was on sale. She purchased the product, later in realizing she did not receive the sale price. After they checked the back of the store for the sale price she was told the sale ended a day before.This is how I know the GM was able to check the price, and was just unwilling to provide just a littttllle bit of customer service. I said that to him as well, I said I know you are able to check, it has been done in the past. He said No, I cant. He then suggested I call customer service, I said an may I have your name so I can tell them who I spoke with and he said Stevenson.I have managed many big box retail stores, and would NEVER EVER have the audacity to speak or handle a customers question or concern the way this man did.Luckily, I have not yet opened any of the products I purchased that day, because everything will be going back; and I will never return.

Save yourself the frustration. Go to the Hudson location where the employees are friendly.I do not feel comfortable in this store. There are things I need that I can only get at Ulta, so I will reluctantly return to this location when I have no other choice. I go as rarely as possible to this location, which means never. Staff seems uninterested in helping me, even once when I was practically the only person in the store, and there were tons of staff. I was obviously trying to find something, but no-one even approached me. Ive had consistently good experiences at other locations, but not at this place.UPDATE: Since I last we wrote this, I came in again because I needed a product I could only get here. Manager(?) remembered me and was so totally weird. She got irritated with me several visits ago when I pointed out that a product that I came for was usually out of stock. I thought they could just order more; I was just trying to help, but she apparently took it personally. This time, Manager kept following me from the time I walked in until I left. I wouldve liked to have looked around and possibly bought some items, but I felt so uncomfortable that I just checked out and left. The manager who checked me out and was so totally weird. I like Ulta and wish I felt more comfortable here. If I did, Id likely buy more things. What a bizzarro place!

Huge selection of makeup - from high end to everyday. Staff helpfulness varies, somedays awesome and amazingly helpful and other days they seem like they couldnt care less whether I was even in the store.
I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS BUT I MUST SAY THE SERVICE PERFORMED WAS HORRIBLE i can’t even believe that I paid $70 for their makeup service. I thought that I didn’t know how to do makeup. HOWEVER, I WAS SO EMBARRASSED WITH THE MAKEUP THAT THE GIRL DID IT WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I WILL NEVER PAY TO GET MY MAKEUP DONE AFTER THIS because I literally do my makeup better and that’s not even my specialty!
To brides: Beware. I made my appointment 6 months before my wedding for my whole bridal party (which I made in person with a manager at the store), they called to confirm my appointment about a week and a half to 2 weeks before. During this call I was even told that 2 of the stylists I would need would be in at 9am and the other 2 would be in at 10, and though we did discuss changing the appointment time the conversation (over a second call not 20 minutes later) ended with confirming a 9 am appointment. I showed up on time for my 9 am appointment, to locked doors because apparently they dont even open until 10. And when we called to ask what was going on we were told that someone called and cancled my appointment the monday before. We were then told that they were booked solid for the day and were never offered any other solutions.I heard back from a manager (today) a couple days after the wedding, and though she did apologize and explain that it had never happened before and that they would look into it, the conversation started with her asking if my phone number was on her desk because I was looking for employment, and later that they have had some girls cancle other girls appointments for prom. So apparently their communication in house could use some work, and they have no safe guards in place to make sure the person who made the appointment is the one canceling it/aware that it was cancled.Ulta has a great selection of makeup to purchase, and some very talented artists for both hair and makeup. But if you are going to go with them for a day as important and already stressful as your wedding day be cautious, call and re confirm multiple times, and have some ideas for a backup (though now I may suggest having a back up plan no matter who you go with just to be on the safe side).

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, CLERK WAS RUDE AND SNOBBY, FLOOR HELP WAS POOR.. Here’s the story: My kids got gift cards for Christmas, so i took them there (Northborough), our first time ever inside a Ulta store.. for starters, I walked by some employees (about 4-5), feeling lost (as it was first time there), they were chatting among themselves, and nobody asked me if i needed help. SECOND.. after browsing for a while, my daughter was looking for a “Brow Pencil”, so i asked one of the employees and she was like “Oh, an “EYE” brow Pencil” (as if we have other Brows in our body), she asked for who, pointed 2 brand options, but never bother to try it on on my daughter or at least suggest a collor for her.. she quickly vanished, so i took the sample and tried it on, another lady aproached me and kinda took the sample out of my hands and said, “yeah, this collor should be fine for her”.. THIRD.. We finally went to the cashier, and the clerk (Taylor- reg 2 in my receipt) asked for a phone number, but i had no Account for that store, so she offered me to open one (like a beauty Insider from Sephora), it’d take only 2 seconds, i said “No, thanks”, but she insisted and said, “are you going to loose points for this purchase?” I said yes, dont want to open the Account at this moment.. then, she said: “Ok, if you want to trow free money in the trash”, i took a deep breath and held it together, so i wouldnt loose in front of my girls (12-14).. we paid for everything and, and she said “ Have a good one” not even looking in my face.. i took a step, looked back and said “YOU’RE WELCOME”. My kids couldnt believe how rude and unprofessional their service was.. As i left saying how rude she was, I Thanked God for SEPHORA stores.. i never had not even a slightly bad experience with them.. Will never set foot in a ulta store again..
Everyone at this location is helpful without being pushy and sometimes remembers me as well as my previous purchases. I love that youre able to purchase higher end products like Clarins, Perricone, Lancome, and Shiseido as well as your average drugstore products like NYX, Not Your Mothers Hair products, and Maybelline. I spend more here than I truthfully would like to admit but thanks to being a Platinum member, get rewarded for doing so.

Terrible. My sister asked for lighter, blonde hair. Now, its like a dark blue. The stylist then proceeded to tell my sister that she [my sister] doesnt know what blonde looks looks like. Go somewhere else, it is not worse the hassle.
If you come to this Ulta, youll never feel welcome. Employees never say hello .
