Experience dining here has been excellent. The food quality are top notch and the individuals that serve are quick to respond and very delightful. I highly rate this Thai restaurant as they obviously did their homework on authentic Thai food. I highly recommend anyone who are looking for Thai restaurant or Asian oriented dinner or lunch to give this a try. These guys continue to renovate their food and products to perfection. I highly recommend to try their calamari and pad Thai as one of the best in the area.
I am highly impressed by how knowledgeable the owner/chef is on nutrition and the alertness of the severity of food allergies. They are remodeling and I can most be assured I will be a regular as I am totally impressed by the menu and the fact I am safe from having an allergic reaction. Total thumbs 👍 up
I usually never write reviews, but Yoong Tong Thai Restaurant in Northborough has definitely rocked my most favorite restaurant list in the area! Easily most best Thai food in all of the Boroughs and Worcester area!We came in for dinner for a table of three, it was an off day at around 5pm-ish. I was greeted by a very clean and well presented dining room. Not a speck on the floors and tables well very clean! It was a bonus that they had hand sanitizers at the entrances and main area as well! We were seated in the Sunroom which is my favorite part of the restaurant! We had a beautiful view of the sunset right from our table! The low key, Asian lofi music was very cool as well and added nicely to the atmosphere! One of the best parts, was that we were looking for some truly authentic Thai food as my husband and I have been to Thailand many times before. After talking to our server he had mentioned that if you wanted to request for Thai Style”, it would enhance the dish to be just like if you were to get it at the street market in Thailand! He then said the reason is truly the general population doesnt usually eat in this flavor profile, which makes sense and is good to know they can cater to all tastebuds! For apps we got the Thai-Style Som Tum Papaya Salad and Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp! The Som Tum was very refreshing and paired very well with the sticky rice and was garnished with a very beautiful carrot rosette! The Tom Yum was spicy and sour just the way we remembered in Thailand! Our daughter wanted sushi as well and ordered a maki roll. For our entrees, this is where it gets very interesting and unexpected! We had a chance to talk to Chef New, who is part of the owning family! First off we were very impressed by his enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for food! He had some time to go to culinary school and work for some really nice restaurants/hotels in the city. So he was explaining to us about his visions of what is to come at Yoong Tong Thai Restaurant such as farm to table, fusion flavors, and much more! One of his creations is the Pan-Seared Grass-Fed Ribeye served with an amazingly delicious authentic Thai Panang Curry, and we also got the Mango Fried Rice served in a pineapple shell! We wanted authentic Thai food but the pairing of the fusion was something we never looked to find, and most definitely creating a craving we never knew we wanted! The steak was cook perfectly to medium rare, juicy, tender, and flavorful but paired amazingly to the authentic Thai Panang curry with crispy basil leaves on top. Chef New was explaining how he sourced the steak from a farm near by and that the vegetables are being sourced from local farms as well! The mango fried rice was out of this world, the front flavor of ginger from the rice, then biting into the tender mangos and crunchy accents from the cashew nuts. Devine!Part of Chef News latest fusion and collaboration is with his friend who is a professional pastry chef! They have created a fusion between classical French & European desserts with Thai flavors! There were about five desserts on the menu but the Thai Tea Creme Brulee was jumping out at us! Let me tell you, were we glad we made that choice! The Thai Tea custard was almost smooth and creamy as silk, contrasted by the perfect crust and the homemade shortbread cookies that dipped perfectly into the custard. It paired perfectly with the hot Thai Tea!Overall we were so impressed and introduced to a new cuisine fusioned by authentic Thai and classical French, something we never thought we would love to try! I highly recommend this restaurant to all friends and family and will certainly be back to try more of the creative and unique dishes (The Thai Coffee Tiramisu is next)! To the Yoong Tong Family, we wish you best of luck and are excited for all the new changes to come! We are very excited for the future to come back time over time to see the all of the new changes to the restaurant and menu as well!
Hi back to thai 😍my folks at work referred me to this restaurant as per them it’s the best thai restaurant in Marlborough, Westborough, Northborough and Shrewsbury. Well, yes they are true.To be honest these guys deserve 5 starts. Veg rolls are really unique in shape and taste compare to any thai restaurants. If you are going there try to have tom yom soup any flavor either chicken, seafood or veg. It’s worth. Just have fun
Excellent customer service, the guy in the front (kind of chubby) made it a wonderful experience he was so kind and polite very respectable young man this whole town could use employees like him
If you are in the Northborough area, Yoong Tong is the place to go. I am an avid lover of Thai food, and this is the place to get the best there is. You are immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming environment. Chef New and Chef Russ have been working on bringing a new young flair to Thai classics. The presentation of each dish is immaculate and a work of art. I have known Chef New for many many years and know he has a passion for cooking that is rare to find.Everything on the menu sounds incredible, so if you get stumped just ask the chef and he will create the most mind blowing experience for you. You will be taken on a culinary journey through Thailand, that you are bound to never forget.
Excellent food!! Two young guys own the business and I could see that they (along w/ 1 wife) strive for excellence. They definitely reached it with the Pad Thai, I was served. They were very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend!! I cant imagine trying to run a restaurant during this difficult time. I felt the need to share to the local world that they deserve their neighbors support.
Fantastic food that is fresh and flavorful. The staff is also a great bunch of people. Love coming here!
Superb (fresh) food quality and everyone is so warm and welcoming. I definitely recommend the piña colada - I have never tried any colada as amazing as this one. Can’t wait to come back and try other options on the menu!! :)
Got take out from here. All staff were so friendly and the food was delicious! I live 30 minutes away and will gladly drive here again. Very accommodating to food allergies. Beautiful presentation of sushi. Will definitely be back.
Last night my friend and I ate here and had a delightful experience, not only was the food amazing, the wait and kitchen staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. We were even given a free desert for it being our first time to eat at this establishment! I will be recommending Yoong Tong to my friends and will definitely be visiting again!
The food was good, tasty and very well prepared. We travel and have enjoyed Thai around the country and several countries. The thing that put YT over the top was the service. Our server was one of the owners/ partners and made our dinner a lot of fun. Highly recommended if youre near the area.
The best sushi ever, great service and always a friendly atmosphere!! Definitely going to be our go to place. Highly recommend!!!
Delicious Thai food! I judge all Thai restaurants by their pad thai and Yoong Tong has an excellent one. I get the chicken pad thai and some places give you just 2 or 3 pieces of chicken but Yoong Tongs is loaded! Management is very accommodating - identifying dishes that are either already gluten free or could be made gluten free, making changes to dishes, etc. I cant wait for the renovations to be done - excited for their future with the new management!
Recently ordered take-out for the first time and it was great! Fresh, generous portions, reasonably priced, with a varied menu. The service was prompt and so friendly. Staff was genuinely happy I had ordered and wished me well. Will certainly be back many times to come!
Very friendly staff, excellent fresh food. I highly recommend the duck!
Absolutely love it food drinks and sushi are all a must try and the service was excellent I would recommend it to anyone
Incorrect pickup order was corrected and fast home delivery made it right.
Great food and staff. Especially the head chef is awesome and will accommodate to your diet restrictions.
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The owner, New, made us feel right at home immediately. His positive attitude was infectious and made the meal that much more special. Tom yum soup to die for. Overall, one of this years best dining experiences.
Thank you so much for our wonderful Lunch... Everything is fabulous . Can’t decide which one I like the most because I like everything.
Great gym and friendly service. Great basement gym.
The best sushi in the region. Reasonable price.
I had the best experience with this restaurant. First off, when I called I had some questions about the menu, I typically just order pad thai and wanted to try something new! The man who spoke to me was the most helpful, patient, kind, and enjoyable person to speak with! He discussed each dish with me and helped me customize them so they were just to my and my husband’s liking! He was so helpful and great to speak with!! Then we got the food and WOW!! It was delicious, I will absolutely order these dishes again (and continue to try more new ones)! We had the Pad See Ew with chicken, but we had them leave out the sweet soy sauce. We also had the Spicy Eggplant Basil with beef, but ordered it with a mild spice level. Both the dishes were so delicious, I couldn’t choose a favorite. There is really something to be said about kind and wonderful customer service. It made the whole experience positive. When my husband went to pick up the food the man I’d spoken to on the phone gave him a menu in which he circled all his favorite dishes for us! We will definitely go back here!!
New and rush are awesome. The sweet and sour chicken was phenomenal. Thanks guys
Great place!!! The food was delicious and service was awesome!
The food was amazing and I experienced the best customer service I have ever had in my life. My friends and I all love it here
First off, I love this place! My girlfriend and I stopped here after driving around looking to discover a new lunch spot.Immediately when you walk in you are greeted by a tidy, well kept restaurant. We were seated in the solarium area which is an amazing feature. The food was incredible! We started with the tom yum soup and curry puffs. The tom yum was out of this world! Fresh mushrooms, tomatoes and shrimp. Bathed in the most amazing sweet and sour Thai broth which was to die for! The Curry Puffs also stood out! The homemade pie crust like wrapper hid the mist amazingly spiced potato filling served with a delicious sweet chili sauce! The main course was Basil Pad Thai and for me, Thai Chili Shrimp. The shrimp was perfect. Fried to perfection in a pankoesque dredge accompanied by broccoli and green beans dressed the same. Once again, the sweet chili sauce served along side was steller! The Basil Pad Thai which I managed to steal a bite or two was amazing too! The basil flavor came through in the most glorious way with healthy chunks of chicken and perfectly cooked noodle.Just when we thought we were done our host, New marched out with an amazing fired banana and ice cream dessert. Little fried pockets of dough filled with steamy delicious banana. This was paired with amazingly creamy and refreshing coconut ice cream garnished with toasted sesame and honey drizzle! All this set off by a gorgeous presentation accompanied by a fresh Thai orchid flower.Over all the food and experience were amazing and I intend to return again very soon!
Friendly affordable Thai for westerners. Somewhat weak flavor compared to the more authentically run places, but still enjoyable.
Fantastic food for a reasonable price. I had the spicy bamboo with tofu. Delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. The dining area was comfortable and bright during the day.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Yoong Tong Thai Restaurant & Wachira T. Sittikong for the amazing hospitality and delicious food! If you’re in the mood for a delicious bite, look no further. There’s truly nothing like a family owned restaurant, so much love and attention to detail is put into every aspect of the menu. Knowing Wachira from school and learning he had his own spot, I knew I was in for a treat. Thank you for a brilliant meal and treating us like family. If I could I’d be there once a week! 💕 My new favorite spot!!!
Excellent food, warm and friendly staff
Awesome food, welcoming staff members, always fantastic vibes. They charge convenient rates and the food quality is fantastic. Highly recommended.
Good portions and tasty food. The food marked spicy was not as spicy as I would have liked though it was delicious as it was. The selection of dishes was varied without being overwhelming. Service was friendly and timely during peak lunch time. I would definitely return if I am in the area again.
The food is so good! Always fresh, great staff (hi Ta!). I meant to take a picture of the food and mai tai before I ate it but was so hungry I forgot!!
Best Thia Ive ever had!
Tried this place in the past with a friend and I am obsessed ever since. I enjoyed the good mood and flavorful dishes and beverages. Keep it up.
Definitely a spot worth visiting, the food is excellent and well prepared, the rates are fair and it is constantly clean in here. Fantastic work.
Fresh Thai favorites at reasonable prices; clean and pleasant dinging room w/ attentive staff. In the 10+ years of coming here Ive never tried the sushi but I have no reason to believe it wouldnt be just fine. My favorites are the Tom Yum soup and the lemongrass curry. Make sure to tell them how spicy you would like your food to be. In this area, they dont pull punches; spicy means SPICY.
Not fancy, but good. Reasonable pricing, good service and friendly staff.
Great food! Have not been disappointed on any meal! The wild boar basil has been my favorite dish so far. Looking forward to try more of there dishes! The classic salmon is another great dish! Highly recommend this place to eat at!
I never leave reviews - but this was by far the worst food we have ever had. I wouldn’t even give it one star. Deserves zero. We ordered a few dishes. Not at all even appealing to the eye. Cold. Flavorless. Completely disappointing. Never again. They also added their own tip (9.98) to a pre-printed receipt — simply, the food sucked.
I love the wide noodles here and if you like it spicy they can make it beyond the 5 spice level on the menu. Service has been good so far on my visits. Plenty of parking available.
Wish I wrote a review years ago as they seem to have gone down hill a bit in the past few years. However this is still a staple for us to go to for mixed Asian food. They used to have huge proportions for cheap, but now they are much smaller and more expensive. But can understand that in todays economy. Plus I used to ask for extra spicy and it was barely edible for spice, now I have to dump half the container of chili sauce to make it even slightly spicy. However, the food is still delicious and usually comes out very quickly. Service is also usually good, unless they are packed which happens from time to time.
Nice food, fast service. Giving one star less as the quantity was insufficient
Great food! Lovely staff. You must try this place.
Overpriced dishes. Food was edible but very boring. The flavors seemed weak or watered down. I would never advise anyone to eat here and think this is what Thai food taste like. I had 2 friends with me and they didn’t eat much nor did they like it. We dropped close to a hundred dollars for 20 dollars worth of blah. Atmosphere is not a comfortable place either and the help has an excuse for everything. Sorry but no thanks.
A nice quiet dining experience. Great Thai dishes that can accommodate different tolerances for heat, a must if you have kids to feed! Love their Pad Thai and red curry dishes!
It was just okay. Sorry, but the truth. Overpriced for what I got. I paid $37 for a soda, crab ragoons, chicken satay, and shrimp rice. The rice tasted very fishy, not like shrimp and I got a huge whiff of unwanted seafood opening the cover. The crab rangoon were different but good and the chicken was over cooked. They didnt give much peanut sauce. It was a smaller amount than you get other places.
Awesome food great place great service
Great service, great food and cozy inviting clean space.
Very good Thai food, and pretty good Sushi if you have adequate time to wait for it. If you have people in your party who like both Thai and/or Sushi, this is a great place to satisfy them both. Most of their evening business seems to be take-out, which is a good sign, though they do have sit-down table service also. Good ice cream available (seasonally) across the street.
Excellent service and food. Every meal Ive enjoyed here has been made with the freshest ingredients. I wish I could eat here everyday. Best Thai food in the state!!!
It covid times everything was a little slow
The place is awesome the food is awesome
Its really a nice place to have lunch, lot of options for a vegetarian. They have multiple options for spicy level which are not that apt to its levelso if you order hot and spicy, its not that hot and spicy.Apart from that everything else is nice
Family operated Thai restaurant. Good service, you never have to wait long for your food. Lots of options to choose from on the menu. Very authentic flavors.
I went to eat here after checking out the menu online, looking forward to getting sushi. When we got there the menu was all thai and nothing like online, I asked about it and the waitress was unsure if they still served it and had to check. Apparently they changed their whole menu and no longer serve it. kind of weird to not update your site where you can do an online order, and for you waitstaff to not know if you serve a major part of the menu?
I LOVE Thai food. And Yoong Tong has been a real find for me and my partner. Well drive an hour to eat there (sometimes several times a week). The ingredients are obviously straight from Chinatown. Nothing at Yoong Tong ever tastes pre-prepared or canned. Very authentic. Chefs and servers are all seem to be Thai – and knowing Thai culture, the service sometimes can seem a little relaxed to the Type-A American eye, but theyre always there when needed and sincerely apologetic if we flag them and they werent present. Oh, and theyre owned by a Thai family thats always on-premises – a sure sign of caring. They prepare great Sushi too.
Great food. Friendly staff. In fact, many of their offerings are the best you can get anywhere.
Pretty decent for a local Thai place. The crispy pad thai (which seems hard to find around here) was good but the sauce was a bit cloyingly sweet. The fried ice cream was good. The service was very good...not busy at all on a Saturday night during dinnertime. Would visit again but maybe just stick to more pan asian staples.
. Good food. Good service. SpicyOptions ok n menu were not clear
Excellent food, average prices, great service.
Decent, but not my favorite. Food was average. Server was not attentive and never came back to see if we needed anything after food was dropped off.
Amazing food..Really good..
Pad Thai is my favorite dish but everything looks good. Very fresh and yummy!
Let me say the food is good I had chicken pad Thai, However the price for the portion size is way off $10 for lunch it was served on a appetizer size plate, Service was poor and I was not happy to know that they automatically add18% gratuity for parties of 4 or more who does that nobody! Even with the food as tasty as it was I will not be returning nor will my 6 coworkers.
I dont think Ive ever written a restaurant review online, but this was such a bizarre experience that I have to comment. The food was actually pretty good, but theres more to a dining experience than food. Im in the area on business, no customer dinners tonight, so I googled restaurants, and this one caught my eye since Thai food is a favorite and the ratings were reasonably good. I arrived around 8PM on a weekday evening. Very few cars in the parking lot, which seemed a little strange given the good reviews, but thought maybe its just a slow night.I was seated immediately and the waitress was extremely attentive. Ordered a beer and appetizer. Looked over the menu a couple minutes, then ordered dinner (remember: extremely attentive, she was right there). Everything arrived quickly. When delivering the meal, the waitress asked do you want anything else?. No thank you, Im OK for now. Less than five minutes later she was back. Would you like anything else, sir?. No thank you., still feeling somewhat pleased with the level of attention. But then...At most, another 4-5 minutes passed. If you want anything else, we close at 9:00. Nodded yes (eating). 9:00. Good to know that, OK, thank you. A few (very few) minutes later: Anything else?. No thanks, I think Im all set with this. And then it started. I had eaten about half the plate and paused to read something on my phone. Are you done? No, Im still eating, thank you. 2 minutes. She drops the check on the table. No rush. Yeah, right. Maybe three minutes later: Finished? No. Repeat. And repeat. And repeat again. At least she switched up Are you done? with Finished? a couple of times just for variety. At one point I even tried to keep count of the done? requests, but lost track after a dozen or so times. The waitress and hostess/manager took turns at this. It was mildly entertaining at first, and then became just plain irritating. Good thing my wife wasnt with me, she would have gone ballistic. After I was nearing the end of the meal, maybe 40 minutes after entering the restaurant, I dropped my credit card in the check holder and they snatched it before it hit the table. I still took my time, only to continue being visited frequently, including a kid from the kitchen who seemed most anxious to clear the plates. I guess its irritating to have customers in the place when you want to go home early. But, if thats the case, maybe they should advertise an earlier closing time. It wasnt just me, a young couple at another table (the only others in the restaurant) got similar treatment and left just before me.The strange behavior was really unfortunate, since, as I mentioned at first, the food was reasonably good. Not the best Thai ever, but not bad. Maybe its good for take-out, if you dare. The menu showed some exotic ice cream flavors (none offered), and I probably could have used another beer if they werent in such a hurry to close. Absolutely bizarre restaurant experience.f youre in the area, try Romaines a couple miles west of this place. Went there the night before and it was the complete opposite, great food coupled with fantastic service and a welcoming atmosphere.
Tasty veg food, liked yellow and red curry
I like the ambience, food is not the best but good. Nice seating area and very helpful and friendly staff. Vegetarian option available for every dish
We show up with a party of 3, two of the people are served their food, its very awkward, as they dont want to start eating until everyone gets their food. 2 people sitting watching their food get cold, as the 3rd person waits( 5 minutes). Finally 3rd person gets food and order is wrong. Last time I ever bring clients to this place.
Used to come here regularly but hadn’t been in a few years until tonight. Wish I hadn’t come tonight. I ordered hot tea, and was given a cold cup of tea. Cold cup, cold tea. Seriously. The chicken mango curry I had was flavored ok but the chicken was rubbery, like it had been heated and reheated over again. My friend’s pad Thai was a mess, couldn’t really discern what was what, though again the flavor was ok. Service sucked and we won’t be coming back
Ive been ordering from Yoong Tong since I was in high school. The pad thai is second to none and my favorite is kanom jeeb. You cant go wrong whether you get it steamed or fried. Dang and the rest of the team are amazing. Best place to eat in the boros.
Entrees are very good. Most of the appetizers are fried.
Awesome Place if you want Thai food there is no better restaurant.
The Pad Thai was really good. It seemed like they could put a little more effort into the atmosphere.
Its an awesome restaurant. Try it, you will love it
Great thai food, fast service.Ask for spicy if you want something not tamed down for American palates.
Delicious Thai food, reasonable prices. Popular place for lunch with colleagues.
Food was DELICIOUS and very Thai, great dinning experience. The owners and staff went the extra mile to makes us feel welcomed . Cant wait to go back!!
Huge portions and delicious food, fast service at lunchtime.
Nice, clean and amicably laid out space and ver good Thai food, and were well guided with recommendations 😊
Only 5 stars because I cant do 6,7 ...
The beat Thai food in the area. Great quick place for lunch
We used to go here all the time before we moved out of the area. that was about 4 years ago. we loved the food and never had a bad experience. not sure what changed, since we moved back and ate there a few time we had nothing but bad experience. food is not that good for what they charge.
Its Ok, not the best, but not much Thai food around here. They are nice people but probably not busy enough to make it better. Atmosphere is ok, not great but not a total dump. That being said, if you really have to have a Pad Thai fix, it will do - I will probably go again when I need another Pad Thai fix and dont feel like driving far.
Poor experience all around. Dinner with a large group and food was slow and barely edible - dried out and rubbery!
Hot & fresh big servings friendly people
Great food...loved the yellow curry
1st time eating here. The pad see yew was absolutely delicious! As was the thai tea and tom kha gai. I cant wait to return to try the sushi. The staff was very friendly as well.
Good food...smallish portions.
