Note to the reader: I thought the people at the shop were decent folk, but this is a review strictly on the quality and professionalism of the business and is not a reflection of the people there. I worked directly with Steven of the course of our business at it was conducted.The Good:I came to the shop looking for paint work. The advertisement was originally on Facebook and i messaged Steven right away. Told him I had two specialty parts for a show car of mine. Made it very clear i needed good quality work on them. We settled on a fair price and he was willing to give me a good discount for paying cash. We shook hands and I left the parts with him.The Bad:Fast forward nearly 2 months... let me emphasise. TWO months for small parts. The original quoted working time was 2 weeks. Every few days after that two weeks I would contact him with the intent to pickup my parts but something was always wrong with him. Countless times he had noticed a cosmetic defect in his work (a crack in the paint, a run, the mix was off, etc.) or that other business had picked up at his shop and i was put on the back burner, or that there were acts of God (sickness, the weather, etc) that prevented him from finishing work on two small parts with a basic paint and clear. I had been busy at work during this 2 month period and just let it all slide. Finally I set a firm date with him with which i would pick up the parts. Low and behold when i message him about picking up the parts, he tells me he hasnt painted the parts yet and wanted to do them with another customer vehicle of his, that night, to save time and money. Clearly hasnt been honest with me, as Id begun to suspect. I then tell him I will be there to pickup the parts the next night as I have a firm committment regarding these parts coming in the next few days. I send a message that evening letting him know Im on my way. Yet again, no reply. We arrive and he is not at the shop. I am left with no choice but to come the next day, two days after I had told him I needed the parts. An emergency at work the following morning prevented me from going, so I asked my long time girlfriend to pickup the parts.The Ugly:The parts. The finish was horrible, with paint demples from too thick of a coating for layers, it looked like something i wouldve been able to do with a shaker can from Home Depot. There was over spray, pollen had been embedded in the clear coat, and the most offensive part was clear scratch and bite marks in my parts. After I had calmed down about my wasted time and money, my girlfriend did tell me that when she arrived, my parts were on the ground and the shops dog was chewing on one of the corners.TL/DR: The shop lacks professionalism, punctualit, and quality of work. As far as paint work is concerned, avoid this shop at all costs if looks matter to you. If all you need is a quick and dirty spray job to cover up some curb rash, thats all I would come here for. With many more parts on order in the coming months for my show car, we will not be returning to Dents Garage for future work and wish them well.
