Best tattoo shop in town by a lot. I’ve gone to Anna for a septum piercing, ear piercings, and two tattoos and she is always so good!! I’m so happy with my piercings and tattoos, and she is always so nice and makes great conversation so it goes by quickly. I will never go to anyone else as long as I live in Tuscaloosa!!

I went and got my nips pierced..she was so professional about it all. I was able to feel comfortable and relax. They are even and in my opinion very well done. Be sure to call and make an appointment i just so happen to walk in at the perfect timing. Looking at her art work I would suggest getting a tattoo as well!! I believe Ill be back for one! Very clean as well. 10/10 recommend coming here!

Matt was amazing. He does amazing work and takes his clients thoughts into consideration. I drove 4 hours to visit my daughter and her and I got matching mother daughter tattoos. Matt was able to make each one unique but still matching. He was personable and friendly and treated us like he knew us for ever. I would gladly drive back to have him ink me again.

They do great work, priced very well which is surprising for a college town. Very Clean and welcoming environment. Cant say enough good things, but they do get booked up. You may have to wait a month or two but its definitely worth the wait.I will be backIf your deciding on were in Tuscaloosa you want a tattoo this place should be at the top of your list!

My sister was in town for one night and we wanted to get matching tattoos ( it was my first tattoo as well) we walked in and Matt was able and willing to fit us into his schedule. He was so nice and executed exactly what we were thinking!! He was so much fun to talk to and is definitely a great person to get your first tattoo with!

I came here for my first piercing in 8 years and I was really impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of this place! Anna was very sweet and talked me through the whole process to calm my nerves. The piercings look great and I’m very happy with them! My only criticism is that the place would instantly be 100 times cooler if they had a worm-on-a-string curtain for one of the doorways.

My daughter has been begging for her second lobe piercing for two years and I have been wanting a nose piercing for close to 20 years. We decided to get it done together! We walked in a were greeted by so many friendly faces, everyone was so kind and helpful. We were taken back right away, and were back out within 20ish minutes. It was a very pleasant experience and the sweet lady that did our piercings was amazing! Very patient, kind and helpful! 10/10 would recommend!!!!

Had an amazing experience getting a tattoo on the bottom of my toe here almost a week ago! The shop was so clean and the staff was so nice and friendly and made me feel so comfortable. I would definitely come back here for more work. The tattoo has since completely 100% rubbed off but to be fair I did not expect it to last at all. I did not however think it would be completely gone in 5 days which is disappointing for a $60 tattoo when I followed every after care direction but that is not the shops fault. Overall great experience and amazing tattoo shop!

Im really happy with my experience at Cynical! Everyone there was super nice and reassuring. Staff was professional and the facility is very clean and orderly. I had a piercing scheduled with Anna (who was very kind and did a great job with the piercing and explaining how to care for it) and wanted to get a small matching tattoo with my friend if there was time, and they were able to squeeze us in later the same day! Matt did our little tattoos and was very patient with us and helped us through the nerves. Overall an excellent experience. Id recommend this place to anyone looking for a piercing or a tattoo!

I got a piercing here a while ago. I called and asked for a price and they told me $50. When I made my appointment and arrived, they told me it was $65 - not including tip. I was little frustrated but paid anyway and got the piercing. A month goes by and I am able to take out my earring, only for me to realize the lady pierced it at an upward angle and it is very difficult for me to put in earrings to this day. It is challenging to find the end of the piercing hole. I took my sister here for her next piercing, to give them another chance figuring I just got a bad piercing. But the same thing happened to her. She paid $90 - not including tip - for a second earlobe piercing, which is just a RIDICULOUS amount for a earlobe piercing. She paid for a different earring than I did, so that probably added to the price, but she is unable to reuse this earring again because of how the earring is designed. But to pay extra for the earring for her not to be able to use it again is not right. She left her earrings in for 2 months. Today we were trying to put a different earring in, to find out her piercing is pierced at a downward angle and is very complicated to put in. In my opinion, it is unacceptable to pay that much for a piercing for it it be at an angle and to not be able to reuse the earring we paid for.

If you are looking to get a piercing, please, and I cannot stress this enough, go to Cynical! Anna pierced my left nostril and it is super even to the one I got done on the right 2 years ago. She is super nice and reassuring and will talk you thru the whole process. The two times I have gone in she is always such a beautiful burst of energy to be around. Highly recommend! 😊

I went to get my nose pierced yesterday, I forgot her name, but she was very nice and took the time to answer all my weird questions haha. The piercing was quick and little to no pain!!

I have been to Cynical a few times over the years to have ear piercings done and they have always done a great job. Today I went in to have my rook pierced by Anna and she did an amazing job! It was painful but she did the piercing quickly and got the jewelry in quickly. She also went over the aftercare. I have had a few piercings done so I know the drill but I appreciated her taking the time to go over everything and be thorough. I would definitely recommend Cynical to anyone looking to get a piercing. 😊

My daughter and I both got tattoos. My first, her second. I got my mom’s “mom” in her handwriting (as well using her numbers from a recipe card) for her birth and death years, my daughter got a tiara in memory of my mom. Ryan was great!!!

Anna was really nice and patient. She definitely has the right personality for her job. I was charged slightly more than I was quoted on the phone but it was a good experience and still gets 5 stars from me.

I have to fully recommend Cynical Tattoos! I ended up not getting a tattoo because Anna suggested that I dont get one. It is a long story but she told me that the tattoo would not work for the reason I was wanting. She suggested Henna or Jagua. They could have easily taken my $50 (minimum fee) but they were ethical enough to not take my money.

Love this place. I am fairly new to Tuscaloosa and did all my research on tattoo shops locally. I found this one and thought I would give it a try, and so glad I did! Dave is so cool and so friendly! He really took his time to make sure my tattoo was perfect. I already have another appointment this week with Dave! I highly recommend this place and Dave to anyone!!

Just got a piercing done here tonight and my friend got a tattoo. The women was so helpful answering all my questions and made the experience fun. The pricing was also really reasonable I was shocked because most other places were giving me much higher prices for what i wanted. The whole place was very clean. Definitely will be going back for any other piercings or tattoos.

I was absolutely blown away by my experience at Cynical. I came in on a whim for my first tattoo. The shop was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I briefly told Bryan what I wanted and they were able to fit me in the next day. The design Bryan came up with was way better than any of the reference pictures I had given him, and he took the time to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. The experience was wonderful and my tattoo looks AMAZING. Bryan is truly professional and talented.

The inside is clean, but the staff is not very friendly at all. I went there to get a simple, small cross tattooed on my wrist. My artist could not even make the two simple lines straight. And when I came back for the touch up a few days later, she took a picture and said it was some of her best work! Definitely would NOT recommend.

I have to give them a thumbs down... I paid a $100 deposit and then lost my appointment card and I literally had just moved here and couldnt remember where I made the appointment. When I figured out where it was and went back in to explain they refused to apply that amount towards my tattoo. POOF!!! One hundred dollars gone!!!! I will not be getting my tattoo from them nor recommending them to anyone. Seems like a con to me.

Absoutely AMAZING. This was my fourth tattoo and also a cover up of my first tattoo. It was my best experience getting a tattoo done. David was so so great and did exactly what I wanted, I was pretty difficult since it was a cover up and I wanted so much. He did it for a super low price. The other shop that I was thing of going to told me 200-250 ( for a 3in by 2in tattoo)He only charged me 80 and added some color into it, which made it look great! Hes got a super light hand and does amazing work. Cynical Tattoos itself is super clean, probably one of the cleanest shops Ive gone into. Im so thankful to the staff here for dealing with my confusion and demands, they did an great job and I will continue to promote them versus their competitors.

Came their to get a tattoo, staff was friendly but didn’t provide me any information on the down deposit policy they got so when I couldn’t make it and I wanted my 40.00 dollars back that I put down they said it was non-refundable and I wish that he/she would have told me about that. Went on there website and didn’t find anything on nor did they have anything posted for it on their wall.

Oct. 12, 2018: David finished the coverup today and it turned out great! Sept. 21, 2018: Sat for part 1 of a coverup by David Cox this afternoon. Had a great time and am really happy with how its turning out. Cynical is a nice place with friendly staff, and Dave is patient and helpful.

SHOP WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE FOR PIERCINGSWent here to get my industrial pierced, and the best way to describe how this piercing looks on my body is to say that there is NO cartilage that was pierced on the top end. All that is keeping the bar in place is a very thin layer of skin. This piercing looks absolutely awful and I am disappointed with these people.
