We hired Proscape to finish our back yard. This included fine grading, fence installation, planting privacy hedges (cherry laurels), and planting grass. Overall, we found them to be professional, and we were initially very pleased with the work they did. However, over time, some issues have arisen, and that has tempered our review of Proscapes services.Concerning the cherry laurel trees: all trees that were delivered had primarily red leaves, which we were told was new growth. As we later learned, the red leaves were winter burn, and the trees were in bad shape upon delivery. Each tree (evergreens) dropped the majority of their leaves in the first month. Many “recovered,” but will likely take years to fill out (if they ever do: all new growth is on the ends of the branches, not interior, and they provide little privacy). One tree died completely, which Proscape admittedly replaced, though after multiple months of emailing and phone calls. When Proscape finally did agree to replace this tree, they stated that they have a policy which they probably should have told us about (i.e., not written into our contract) that they do not replace plants that are not watered via an irrigation system, implying that any further issues would not be covered.Concerning the grass: Proscape seeded annual grass. We were not informed of this, and had we been, we would have requested that they return later in the season to plant perennial grass as well. The grass, of course, began to die, at which point I was told it was annual. We asked multiple times for quotes to fix the issue (despite the fact that this should have been handled in the initial work quote, or the expectations clearly communicated), to which they never responded with a quote. During this time, we’ve been left tracking sand into our house, as there is little grass cover. Our daughter and dog cannot enjoy the backyard that we paid $13,000 for, because it is a patchy dust pit. We will need to hire another company to seed our lawn again.Finally, concerning the fence: We were quoted on a steel fence, but an aluminum fence was installed. Overall the fence looks as-expected and the installation is clean and professional, but the quote was never updated to adjust for the cost of the aluminum fence.In sum, for the amount of money that we paid for this project, were disappointed with the outcome, much of which could have been avoided through better communication from Proscape. They seem like nice people, but due to this experience (including the amount of time we have spent trying to get them to fix problems), we will likely not use them again.

The Proscape team did a fantastic job designing and building our outdoor space. Austin created a beautiful, tranquil space that is perfect for relaxing and entertaining. We love spending time in our new backyard!

We had major work in our backyard. Proscape built a retaining wall along the back of our property, re-graded the backyard, reset the sprinkler system, and re-sodded the entire area. We were very pleased. We now have a backyard that we can enjoy!!

Henry and I were so pleased with the results of the work Austin and Proscape did in our backyard in 2017 that I contacted Austin to give us a quote for work in the front yard. We had multiple things on our list. Austin had no problem giving individual quotes for each project. We decided to do them all. Austin is very knowledgeable, professional and thorough and really nice.We ran into an unexpected issue when putting flagstone on the front porch. Beneath the paint, our porch posts were rotten. Austin explained the situation and offered solutions. It was certainly nice to have Austin handle everything instead of us needing to find someone else to install the posts.We are extremely with the quality of the work and very pleased with the results.Penny and Henry
