Saffron Grill and Market is a business full of Salaam and great service. Its great to have a Halal neighborhood store to serve all families. The owner accommodated my family and stayed open in order to for us to have a Kabab dinner tonight. JazakAllahu Kairan!! Insha Allah we will be back soon!! BarakAllahu Feekum!!
Omg! This is a hidden gem, the food were delicious, rice were flavorful and meat were tender and juicy. The owner was very nice and accommodating. We ended our meal with a Turkish coffee, which was amazing. I would definitely return again. Beware, this is little place is a hole in a wall, or should i say, a hole in a mom and pop grocery store. Prices are slightly high, however, it’s definitely worth it.
I really want to support small business owners as much as possible. I was excited to check out Saffron. Id been wanting go for a while. When I went in, the lady behind the clear plastic pointed to and said the menu. I couldnt read it through the plastic and wanted to ask her about the dishes, being my first time there or at any Persian business. She was on the phone. I stared at her....phoneI waved at her..... phoneI spoke saying I couldnt read the menu... PhoneI walked around the entire small store ... PhoneShe had no interest in having me as her customer. She just spoke on the phone.Too badIm loyal and spend a decent amount of money out. Also I tap about everywhere I like and my friends will listen to my recommendations. But just stay on the phone lady. No customer willing to spend money in your place is more important than being in the phone. There were 3 people there by the way, all on different phone calls.
This is an amazing little market -- excellent variety of spices, blends, mixes, snack foods, smallwares, refrigerated and frozen foods & treats, and limited selection of fresh veggies -- plus a nicely-stocked deli case and grill . . . all at very reasonable prices (as good as similar larger stores in the L.A. region where I live) . For $12, you cant beat the Koobideh plate with two large skewers of meat, a generous serving of basmati rice, pickled onion, and a grilled tomato, plus some pieces of lavash, fresh onion, and cilantro. Dont forget the pomegranate & dark chocolate chip ice cream (or your personal favorite Golnazar ice cream)
Best Khabob Khoobideh! Food is amazing and they satisfy all my sumac and saffron needs.
A great market for Persian food. Well stocked and friendly staff. They also get new items in frequently.
We loved it!! What a gem!! It was so so delicious. I had to force myself to stop eating. In addition we found a ton of pantry supplies not avaialable where we live. Mike is an amazing host- made us feel so warm and welcome. We will make sure to be back!!
Great middle eastern market and a delicious Cafe to boot! Any food items needed for cooking can be found here!Small market. A few tables to eat quickly inside. Food can be made to go.
They do a great Koobideh. Best in Marin.
They have all the exotic stuff you can not get anywhere.
This is the only Persian food store in my area where Ive found the tea and cardamom cookies I love so much.
Its a little Treasure found in the heart of the marin county, with selection of all nice kosher, Turkish & lot of East European grocery. The food was fantastic we had some of the best kebab, which you can find in bay area. The lamb Shank, its something to die for.
Astounding spot for quality food. staff were kind and Grill Kebab was hot and delicious. I suggest Saffron Grill & Market!!!
Tastey quality food at affordable prices. Six of us from work went for lunch today. First visit for four people. Everyone liked their order and would visit again. Friendly and attentive family business. As it turned out, today was their 3rd anniversary. A good time was had by all.
I was really looking forward to shopping and having Lunch with my husband and our friends. But before I could even walk through the store, the owner came storming out of the back of the store, yelling at me . He demanded I take my French bulldog out of his store! I tried to tell him she is a service dog.He yelled at me again and demanded to see her paperwork. I have never felt so verbally attacked,as I did in his store! If he had approached me in a repectfull manor,I would taken my dog to our car. His loss because we really our nice people . I can only hope that you read this review, and never be rude to a customer again
Very friendly. Good food.
Nice place to have Kabob and grilled chicken and rack of Lamb.
If youre looking for authentic Persian food this is it. First Persian restaurant that is as good as ones in Los Angeles. The owner and the staff are awesome. Casual dining and a great little market as well!.
I just moved to this area and stumbled across this gem. My family and I loved it! As an Iranian, I am always biased and hold any kabob to a high standard, but their kabob koobideh passed the test! So juicy and delicious! We also tried their ghormeh sabzi and their fesenjoon. All were absolutely delicious and I look very forward to coming back soon.
Awesome baklava
Amazing meals, friendly service and fantastic selection of Persian groceries
This is the only place where you can get an authentic Moussaka, prepared with high quality ingredients.
Wow. A treasure trove of great food and a friendly owner too. Love it!

Friendly family run market with decent Mediterranean food for takeaway or eat-in on a few small tables. Liked the chicken kebob with hummus and falafel.

Great food Good value Nice peopleWe will definitely return
It is a fantastic store and the quality of food is marvelous, Super good.
Closest Persian Restaurant / Market to Sonoma County.AND THE BEST PERSIAN FOOD IN THE BAY AREA!!! And Im comparing to Alborz 5-star dining, SF, Berkeley, San Jose, Cupertino. Saffron Grill & Market in Novato . It felt like I was home again. Koobideh was best Ive had in long time. And the Market is soooooo much better than San Rafael. And the agha that served us, possibly the owner, was more than generous. I regret not asking his name. But I will definitely be seeing him again.
