I will drive out of my way to go here. Ian absolutely went out of his way to help me and took such good care of me. Ian and Jo were awesome and I recommend you see them if you need help they always put the customers first and have a customer for life.

Love this place! Went in there for a new chesty for my daughter who is a goalie and Jo took the time to find the one that fits her best.

Staff is always super friendly and willing to help with anything I need! (I am not buying for me and have no idea what anything is haha.) They are very professional and have a great selection of items I need! Definitely recommend! And if you need anything done with your skates, highly recommend Alex! He does a great job sharpening and doing any repairs!

Had a large variety of sticks with different flex and kick points. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful.

Ordered a new stick for my son, unfortunately the item was out of stock despite the order being accepted. As a Supply Chain person I know inventory errors happen. What I did not count on was the time and effort Matt M would go to in order to see us get a stick close to the one ordered.Honestly I am floored by the Customer Service....great job Matt.

Got my brand new, first pair of hockey skates sharpened here before I moved to Las Vegas. Walked in and they sharpened them right away! Staff was super cool and friendly! Also very knowledgable and helped me out a ton since I didnt know what I was doing. By the way, Jo... I made the team :)

Good selection of everything... kid helping us---young high-school senior-name started w/ W...I think Wayne or Wyatt...very energetic, nice and very helpful...nice, friendly staff overall. Only thing that I was unhappy with was the taller staff guy who was sharpening skates disappeared for a good 15+ minutes and left me and others waiting for skates to be sharpened - to take a personal call. Dont know the specifics--could have been a fam emergency...IDK... he came back and picked back up, but I didnt ask why the holdup, I just hope that the skates were done correctly.

Had a great experience with Pure Hockey Novi. Jo was my salesperson. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about hockey and hockey equipment. She sold me on a pair of True custom skates. Her sizing and fitting technique was flawless and she followed my order through the entire production process. Love my new True skates! Great job!!!

Size are unfortunately limited to very mainstream sizes and there is literally one employee for the whole store so you better bring a lot of time

I understand that most stores don’t carry a surplus of goalie gear considering price compared to demand vs player gear. But to have none is weak and the answer of “we’ll get goalie stock in the spring” is about the most useless answer I’ve heard. Stick with Perani’s if you’re looking for helpful staff that go above and beyond to help ya with a good selection to boot, especially if ya play net.

We were greeted right away and offered assistance when we said we were looking for skates. Mind you, the person looking for new skates, has played for over 20 years. He knows what size his current skates are, how they fit and how he likes them. The salesperson insisted on putting him on a Bauer fitting machine - he wears CCM. The fitting machine determined a size and width that may be considered typical but not what he wears and is comfortable with. He expressed this to the salesperson who was determined to tell him what he should and shouldnt be wearing. He did not bring the current skates along which in hindsight wouldve been a great idea, but when he tried a Bauer skate in the size the salesperson said he should be wearing and it fit, the sales person was quite smug about being correct. The sales person did not bring out the size and brand of skate that he said he wanted to try right off the bat. I can appreciate that the sales staff is knowledgeable about the equipment and for someone starting out, the information wouldve been very helpful. But for someone whos been skating for 20 years, it wouldve been better received even if they had brought out both styles and sizes and let the customer determine what they wanted. We left. Wont be back.

Great service, nice selection

Customer service is much to be desired. Placed an item on hold 2 hours before going to the store and it was already back on the rack. No communication among staff.Took over 5 minutes to be acknowledged when checking out. Mind you, the store was crazy slow. So glad I dont rely on this store for gear.

We have been going to Pure Hockey in Novi for the past 3 years. We have had great service from them from day one. Especially from Jose Ortiz. He has been a great help with everything. He is the best when it comes to profiling and sharpening skates, and has a great understanding of equipment and abundance of Hockey knowledge all around. My recent experience has been great. My sons pair of 1S Bauer skates had a defect and were over the warranty by 30 days. Jose worked immediately and placed a call into a Rep. of Bauer explaining in detail the defect, and sending pictures of the skate. Within a day Bauer agreed to provide my son a new pair of skates. This is another example of great service from Pure Hockeys Jose Ortiz working with Bauer. I will be doing business with Pure Hockey for a long time, thanks to people like Jose. Thank You.

I was looking between a few brands for my next set of leg pads (Goalie) and the support here was fantastic. I called to check to see if they had the brands I was interested in, the one they did not have in stock, an employee (Jesse) brought his pair in to show me. He was very knowledgeable in what to look for in pads which was needed (I havent bought new pads in 10 years now). 10/10 Will go back for any equipment needs in the future.

Their staff always go above and beyond to help us out. Time and time again over the course of several years we have received first class service. We’ve always had a great experience with their mail orders. We received the new CCM Super Tacks stick through mail order the day after it was available at the store!

Awesome place for hockey gear.

I didnt know much about hockey when I decided to join a league a year ago. They equipped me with the whole set of gears appropriate for me level. For the most part the staff is friendly and helpful. Ive only encountered one that is lackluster. If you need help, though, ask for Matt. Hes knowledgeable. I have lower arch pain the first year I played and couldnt figure out why. I tried a CCM lower arch support but it didnt help. He recommended that I try Superfeet. I was hesitant at first. He pointed out the 30-day satisfaction guarantee even if we have to cut the support to fit my skates. He also suggested that I tie my skates tighter. I am now pain-free and have so much fun on the ice. Thank you so much!

Prices were comparable to online stores. Service was good. Stock was neat and organized. First visit and I was impressed. Ill be going back.

If you’re looking for equipment etc any hockey store like this is fine. However I would highly recommend not getting your skates sharpened here. I started getting my new skates sharpened at this total hockey and the one at Troy since I moved back to Michigan this spring. Since then I’ve noticed I’ve been losing my edges almost immediately. I took it to a trusted store that specializes in skates today and they confirmed my belief that whoever has been sharpening my skates currently has been wrecking my steel. My skates are no more than 6 months old and now I’m told I’ll be due for new steel in a couple months. To reiterate this superstore is great for equipment and I’ll come here any day for a new stick etc. That said I will avoid it at all costs when looking to get my skates sharpened, I recommend you do the same.

Traveled up from Fort Wayne to bring my son to a REAL hockey shop. He is just getting into hockey and was very excited to check the place out. I was looking to get fitted for some new ice skates so I could join my son on the ice after lessons. Kelley helped me fit for size 12 skates and found the only 2 pair they had available in the back. After some tips I was able to choose a pair of skates. Kelley also had the skates heat molded and sharpened for me while we waited in store. My wife and son looked around the store while I was molding the skates. We ended up walking out with not just the skates we originally came for but also a new stick and gloves for my son. Will definitely plan to come back for our next large hockey purchase.

I went in to buy a new hockey bag for my son today. He is 9 and is having trouble carrying his bag due to the heaviness. So, the salesman asks me what I was looking for and I told him we would like a wheeled bag. I was then told that my son DOES NOT need a wheeled bag, he needs to toughen up and carry the one he has by himself. I was then told he would sell me a wheeled bag if that is what I really wanted but he would not recommend it. I walked out of your store.Worst customer service ever. I didnt know the salespeople knew my son and what he needed, I guess the customer is not always right in what they want to buy!!! Thanks for saving me the $100(or more) I willing to spend at your store.Troy location is much more helpful and friendly.
