Its a quaint little butcher shop, with typical faire one would expect.We took some King Salmon and Lake trout here to be smoked.Their price to smoke fish is comparable to other butcher shops. They use saw dust to smoke the fish and a brine process to cure the fish. It wasnt entirely clear if you had a choice of wood species or rub.Probably the cons of this place is they only take cash or check. Not sure why they take checks but not debit cards. Checks are such a high liability compared to debit and credit cards.Also Im not sure how long they brine and smoke fish but it was a bit dried out for out taste.If they took debit cards we would be more likely to patronize them in the future.Hopefully they come into the late 20th century (late 1990s) in terms of payment methods accepted in the future.I dont know how they stay open only taking checks and cash.Lastly they allow a dog to roam around the store and back area. Not sure if this is allowed under health department regulations but doesnt lend itself to putting much faith in staff following safe food handling techniques.

Best place I’ve ever been for sausage and pork. Make sure to try the Capone meatballs. So funny all the negative reviews have nothing to do with the quality of the products but instead are about masks. Wear your own mask if you feel the need. That should be enough to keep you safe. Or better yet, stay home. More products for my family.

Weve gone to Butcher Block for many years and have always been happy with our purchases. We were VERY disappointed over the holidays when there was a sign on their door that masks were required but when we entered NO staff was wearing a mask and approximately half of the customers in the store didnt have one on either. Weve started exploring other area butcher shops since. Both weve gone to all staff and customers had masks. We were very happy with our purchases from these two shops and even though they arent as close to our home, thats where we will shop from now on. If you state something (Masks required) and then dont do it yourself, what else are you saying that isnt true?

The Butcher Block is by far one of the best family owned and operated butcher shops in the Milwaukee area. The business not only provides quality products but they do not force unlawful regulations on folks. They also keep their prices down by utilizing cast and checks only. Sorry credit and debit card users, stop by the ATM before coming. Stop by for some great meats and support a quality small business.

This place is amazing and awesome. I found it looking to get some fish smoked. They did a excellent job smoking my coho and lake trout. Really nice brine and taste of finished product. Then I bought some steaks because I couldnt resist the prices. Also, the family is so nice and the smiles are pretty !!!!

Good meat and pizzas. Went there at noon and the lot was crowded. They had a fantastic system there and we were in and out in no time flat.

I moved to this area just over 4 years ago, passed it a 100 times until this Sunday stop. I got the hot ham & rolls that was very good for the perfect car picnic and today, I got a sausage pizza I really have to say......a darn good pie. Everything looks great so I have many future stops.

Hot ham is great. VERY disappointed that no staff were wearing masks, there was no sign on the door for people to wear masks. Did not feel comfortable in the store and should have left. But, as I said, meat is great. BUT, I will not be going back until Covid is over or masks will be worn.

Best place in southeastern WI to catch COVID-19! Employees do not wear masks in accordance with the state of WI mandate, and they don’t enforce it on customers either. This place is nasty! Avoid, unless you want to risk catching Covid-19 from a business that clearly doesn’t care.

Took my deer here to cut up, the deer was 130-150 pounds, and only got 30 lbs of meat back. I called to see why it was such a little amount and they told me I shot it in the front shoulder so they couldn’t use some of the meat. When I know for a fact I didn’t shoot it in the shoulder because I was the one who gutted the deer and seen where the bullet went through.

Since opening, Ive always enjoyed shopping/supporting Butcher Block. Customer service was very good. Last 3 times I went into purchase meat, the staff werent wearing masks.These last three times Ive gone in, w mask during virus, the young women behind counter were rude and unfriendly.Lack of your customer appreciation, no masks, no sign to wear mask says you dont care about your customers. I wont be back.

No masks on any staff members. Health department rules are apparently optional and overall cleanliness of the store seems poor.Snack sticks were dry, grainy, and mealy. Flavor not great. Very uncomfortable environment as a first time customer.Don’t waste your time here, they don’t seem to care if you’re there or not.

My wife and our audult children and their families have used Butcher block for many years and the quality of product and service has always been excellent. When my wife and i bought their jerky for US Soldiers in Iraq Butcher Block went the extra distance and vaccum sealed everything and prepared the shipment at no extra cost. We highly recommend them for larger party orders or just a weekly dinner.

You want quality meat? Are you tired of buying inferior meat from places like walmart? Then butcher block is where you need to go. Prices are comparable to other major food chain grocers and some even better pricing then big food grocers. But the meat quality is bar none better then any store around.

Great products!! Love this place. Would give them 5 stars if they took credit cards. CASH ONLY! My wife recently went to a rummage sale that took credit cards. There is not a single excuse for this business to not take cards. Often times we end up going somewhere else just because of that inconvenience. Im sure they loose alot of business due to this mistake on their part.

I drive from Racine or new Berlin to have my deer processed. The hot sticks were the only complaint. Just not hot enough. They do the burger with or without pork added. The only real issue is its cash only. And for just burger without pork its $99 and they keep the hide. Other than that the prices for bacon, brats, hot sticks or anything else is lower than most places and is done when they tell you and is quality.

I would never go to any other butcher shop! They have amazing deals here throughout the week and their specials they have on bulk meats sometimes, is a super win! The variety they offer and the freshness of everything is just amazing! By far my favorite place to go!

We stopped in on Saturday afternoon and ordered fresh polish sausage, bacon wrapped filets and beef stew meat. I will start by saying the polish was excellent and we would definitely purchase that again. However, the bacon wrapped filets were stringy and disappointing. The beef stew meat was horrible. It was so tough and dry. My husband used to be a chef and he knows how to cook. I can get better quality meat from the grocery store for half the price. Dont waste your money here.

When out for a ride, the Best Place to stop to pickup to bring something to the BBQ, or take something home for yourself. Doug, Crystal, or Ryan will give you the attention you deserve .

This is the only place i get my meats from. The housemade hot dogs are the best ive ever eaten. The loinback pork ribs are the best Ive used, perfectly trimmed and super thick. The bacon wrapped fillets cant be beat for the price. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and there is a great selection of meat. They also cater amd do full pig roasts as well. Hands down one of the best butcher shops around this area, highly recommend this business. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.

So let me just say my review is about my wedding. Seeing as my venue only let me have two choices I choice butcher block because we went with roasting pigs n chickens. So first time I went I to set stuff up I was told to come back closer to wedding. I did. A few times I went in in was told to come back because I had to talk to the owner which was the dad of the kids working in shop. The owner is very had to get ahold of n never returns calls. So when we finally did we order..... 2 pigs, 30 chickens, veggie tray, sausage tray, coleslaw, rolls, pasta salad and parsley potatos. I also paid for serving spoons. I paid in full weeks before the wedding.Wedding day, we got no veggie trays or sausage trays. We never got our parsley potatos they gave us potato salad instead. We ran our of all the salads which we need for 200 ppl n only 170 showed n only one pig head in trays when I ordered two. So when we call after wedding they kept saying their dad would call back,,,,, he never once tried to call us. Finally after getting ahold of him, he didnt own up to anything. I didnt want a full refund but.... he should have done something to show he was remorseful. Anyone planning on a wedding or big party beware! Reported to BBB.
