I’ve sold and bought from this store numerous times they are fair on both ends. There selection is top notch. You can find high end stuff for great prices and they have brand new stuff for a fraction of the MSRP. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

I love Uptown Cheapskate!!! Moving back to Lauderdale and bringing my best clothes, shoes and handbags (because I lost two dress sizes and a shoe size). I want my faves to be enjoyed, and I know I will find cool stuff to replace it. Size 14 or XL coming!!! And a few cool thing will be going home with me!

This place is amazing... They have a combination of new and old items but everything looks new... Their prices on some of the newer things are high but the prices on the items that are used are very good. You can get some great stuff for reasonable prices... Its definitely a place to check out!

I use to really enjoy going into the store, and doing business with them. They’re old employees/management were always friendly, outgoing, and had the ability to actually hold a conversation or at the least take a interest or even fake tohave interest in the customer. Quality of customer service has went way down over the years, and this is the same for the items in the store. I would save my time and skip this place if I was considering stopping in.

I was used to buy in the one in Austin Tx and went to the one in Jacksonville and those were really good. Cant say the same about this location. Went twice and left with nothing... found a few things but little overpriced was overpriced for used, no good selection here, I may give it another try

What a waste of my time! After spending an hour looking around and over hearing the owner who is very rude talk about my clothes and how they can’t accept them, some brand new items and 3 bags worth, they didn’t accept any of my items. I wish they wouldn’t waste my time and told me right away instead of making me wait and ask if my clothes were ready. Wow seriously such rude management and a waste of my drive over here. If I could give zero stars I would.

It used to be good. No variety of clothing it seems like the same person provides the clothing. Mostly club clothes. Most of the zippers on the items were broken, and I tried on a Neiman coat I ended up smelling weird for a while. I miss how good this location was. I am always willing to come back again and maybe I will change this review. I used to love this place!

Greeted with a friendly smile and welcoming manner by the owner. As I guy I can attest that there are few stores that sell used clothing for men. Yet they have a large selection that is easy to browse through.Uptown is nothing like other used clothing stores. Its almost wrong to call them used. All the clothing I looked at are in perfect or near perfect condition, many top name designers.I had no problem finding a few cold weather items for a trip. I easily saved 80 percent off of new.Especially during the S* show that is 2020 we all need to shop locally and support small businesses.Covid Safety: Employees wore masks and store was very clean.

Decent selection but in terms of selling clothes to them, not worth it, I brought in designer dress shirts, full suits lots of nice stuff, they gave me a measly 10 bucks, not worth my time

Best deals on the best gently used clothes. They have the best deals, sales and selection (which changes all the time). When you have to go back to the office, this place is great for work shirts. They have mens stuff up front, womens in the rear of the shop. Everything has a label and is great. My son got True Religion jean (still had the original price tag) for $25 or $30. They were brand new. My whole family shops here. love em

Good place to sell your clothes you may havent worn in months. But dont expect to get big bucks they price them accordingly so they can resell also. You can get cash or store credit.

Employees are rude and honestly you are better off goin to a Ross or marshalls and buy something unused. Im all for a bargain but some of their prices arent reasonable considering they sell used merchandise. Also if you want to sell your clothes. Be mindful they wont give you much for it only to turn around and sell it for double or triple from what they gave you. Sorry but I wouldnt waste my money here.

Found this “jewel” in Oakland Park by accident. Myself and my son visited this store on yesterday, when we walked in the lady that assist us was not friendly at all. she gave a form to fill out and then said come back in the morning. we decided to walk around the store, as we were walking around she stared at us the entire time like we were going to steal something. ( fast forward to this morning) someone called and gave a sale price for my sons shirt and wanted to know if they could move forward with the deal and that we needed to pick up the other items, I yes thats fine. well when picking up our items the same lady took a look at my son and myself when walking in she said oh were not going to take your shirt. I said its a Saint Laraunt and its authentic so whats the problem, she said I dont know we cant take it and she pretty much didnt want anything else to do with us her demeanor toward us was very abrupt and I will NOT!!! refer anyone to this store, after reading a few comments it is true how they treat BLACKS........ response 7/8/20......(The shirt was and is authentic maam I bought it personally and from the looks of your reviews maybe you should try to work on your EMPLOYEES should work on their customer service skills a bit more. Just from my experience I wasnt pleased with your EMPLOYEES ATTITUDE But its understandable if their not used to people being civilized have BLESSED DAY)

I gotta say in all honesty that this is my most favorite shop ! Think of Century 21 but way more boutique-like .It’s a cute little space with a very nice array of the real deal high end designers . I personally live within 20 miles so I have the advantage of hitting it weekly . I’ve had some wildly exclusive finds there for very reasonable prices .Additionally they’ll pay you 30% for your used designer clothes off what they forecast they can sell for . We all got those items just sitting for years ......... Go make some cash !+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Found what I needed at half price

Very bad experience. The sales girl was aggressive about taking the tote bag in which I brought things to sell. I thought that was odd, especially since I didnt want to give it to her. I could only describe her personality as short-sighted, abrupt and very limited. She didnt want me to take out my items and lay them on the counter. It took about 15 minutes for her to review them - Michael Kors, Saks 5th Avenue brand, etc. - after which she found something wrong with all of them and rejected the whole bunch. It sounded like knit-picking to me. Then I realized, that is why she wanted to hold on to my tote bag. She wasnt going to buy any of them. Some times you can just tell something based on a glance, and Im trusting myself on this one. She simply refolded my items during the 15 minute review put them in the bag while I was away and handed them back to me. I NEVER leave negative reviews, but I have to say ... she made a snap judgement about whether or not she felt like speaking with me, told a lie about it, and blew my inquiry off. Theyre pretty desperate in there. If youve ever had bad service in your life, this was definitely it. I walked away thinking she is unfit for the industry and her job.

I DO NOT recommend this place. The workers weren’t friendly at all. They were very disrespectful and they repeatedly called the clothes that I brought in “very dirty” when I in fact washed all of my clothes beforehand. I felt extremely unwelcome because once I walked in they stared me down; and as a black woman that was an extremely uncomfortable situation. Hope you guys find this review useful.

Store is one big scam. They fill the place with nice curated second hand items, but in between these items you’ll find ‘designer’ items (such as Off-White shirts, Balenciaga Caps, Versace Jewelry, Gucci etc). These items are counterfeit and are spread out to make you think you found a deal, and carefully priced to not draw suspicion. Don’t fall for them.IN REGARDS TO THE STORE REPLY: It doesnt matter if you *think* its obvious to customers- youre intentionally misleading customers by even selling these products. Expecting customers to know the items arent real purely based on pricing is intentionally predatory. Not to mention, selling these items in the first place is breaking the law.

Don’t bother selling you won’t get more than 2 or 3 dollars per item!!!They do however have some interesting items if you don’t mind searching.

You can find designer names for amazing prices! This place became my favorite ! And when you bring items to sell; if you shop at the same time; you dont pay tax. Tons of ways of saving money!

This store has quality clothes at great prices! I never walk out without buying something. Stephen handles the men’s dept. Everything is kept well organized easy to find. The friendly service makes me want to come back sooner than later. Convenient location and plenty of parking. The store is a gem!

I had purchased a blue pair of ray bans from this small shop in the past. When I had took it to a nearest sun glass hut I was informed they were not authentic. Fake ray bans should never be $60. That’s way too much to ask for when it’s a fraud item. Please make sure you ask all your questions before you decide to purchase any item with high end bran mark.

Very discussed with the customer service walked outof the store after ringing up 350 worth of clothes because the owner was trying to make me buy a face mask to complete my transaction. I was never approached the 40 min that I was shopping! I will never go here again....

They offered me 3.00 for a junior dress from Macy’s with the tags still on it. No thanks! When I called I was told they accept just about everything. They took only two of the four dresses and then offered me 6.00 for both. What a rip off. I would rather donate the dresses and they were nicer than anything they had in there.

Nesti was fantastic! I took a big hamper worth of clothes in to sell and received a decent amount for them. You have to remember when you’re trying to sell clothes to thrift stores that you are starting at $0. The workers here have a lot of factors to decide to take your clothes or not, so please please please do not think about “how much you paid for a jacket” in comparison with how much they sell to you for. You’re giving up the jacket for a reason and it currently is making you $0 sitting in your closet. So, if they give you $10, that’s a lot more you came in with. Please understand that concept before trying to sell! The customer service here was great and they have a very shopable store. 10/10, definitely recommend 😊

I felt they were fair. They could not take a lot of the mens shoes or clothing due to the large sizes (16 shoe, XXL, 3X shirts). But what they did take I felt the compensation was reasonable. I left the bulk of the items with them to be donated. I thought that was a good option instead of worrying about it myself.

I loved this place. It’s like a hidden gem; I found Robert graham shirts new with tags for $500 and i bought it for $49.99. There are Versace, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and gap, old navy, polo Ralph Lauren. There are items for different price ranges and styles. It’s a second hand shop however tons of items are new with tags. Must visit!

Lame. I tried to sell a bin of gorgeous clothes. Some I hadnt worn yet but couldnt fit into due to gaining weight from an illness. They refused to take any but offered to donate. I better not find out that they are selling them but just saying they cant buy em from me so they can make 100% profit.

Uptown Cheapskate is a chain of second hand clothing stores in 21 states. This location in Oakland park has been here 6 years. This is one of the nicer thrift stores I have been too. Normally I detest going through racks to find clothes but this store is set up more like a boutique and everything was very organized making it easy to find your size. In addition to womans clothing they also sell menswear in the front of the store, and accessories like bags, jewelry, and shoes. While browsing the shoes I spotted a pair of Coach heels but sadly not in my size.I came in to find some cold weather clothing for my daughters up coming trip north but I also ended up finding a few things for myself. They have colored tickets that denote additional discounts from 25 to 75 percent off the ticket price. I got a Liz Clairborne sweater for $2 and a Calvin Klein sweater. They even take returns which a lot of thrift stores refuse to do. If you have buyers remorse you can bring back your item with the tag attached and the receipt for up to one week. They are constantly buying things so the inventory is always changing. While they rang me up they signed me up for their rewards club and they even have a phone app you can download to keep track of your rewards. If you clean out your closet you can sell your name brand clothes here too.

The only thing I can say GOOD about this place is the associate named Jay! Your customer service is wonderful thank you for all your help!!!Everything else is POOR I presented the store with 7 used coach bags which to some were in mint condition and they wanted to take them all with 2 pairs of Nike’s and 2 pairs of toms in great condition but give me 40$. 11 articles for 40$ ??I was fortunate enough to leave with my belongings before they tried to make way with them. None of the clothes they had were stylish. And overpriced. Not my favorite thrift store I will definitely be trying Plato’s instead they are definitely more reasonable.

I had an excellent shopping experience. Netsi was going above and beyond. Unlike Miami classic service. I felt like shopping at a high end store. I read people complain about they pay very little for their merchandise. But this is business. I found very good brands and most of them brand new with a deep discounted price. Need to go there more often to catch best deals.

Second hand quality for sure, cheap and ugly merchandise. I will continue shopping at Marshall’s or even Ross which next door. Staff is very rude and always speak their native language and not English. I did not feel welcome. I do not recommend unless you are very cheap.i might report them to the better business bureau...nah...I got better things to do. They won’t last too long anyway.

Horrible customer service!!! A couple different times i have gone to the store to sell my clothes...CALLED BEFORE and they said they were accepting clother...never said it was a drop off. Waste of time! 👎💩They pay pennies on the dollar...big rip off. Then they mark them way up for a profit. I donated a brand new pair of shoes that retail for $65...they gave me $3 for. The name says it all CHEAPSKATE...UPTOWN RIPOFF!

They jack up prices way over what they pay your for your items. You can buy new or better condition elsewhere for less. They say they accept everything name brand so I took 2 huge bags of designer items neatly folded and organized plus stuff on hangers, all clean and pressed. They took everything off hangers and threw them all into a pile. When it was returned to me, all of my stuff looked like a college kids laundry basket just mashed together in a pile like it was dirty discards. AND they said I could wait or theyd call me. It took them 2 DAYS and me calling them. After all of that, they only wanted 2 of my items offering me $6 total. Hahahaha! Their attitudes sucked, very snobby for a 2nd hand store. Newsflash: youre not on Rodeo drive folks! WHAT A JOKE! Avoid shopping there or selling your items. Youre better off getting robbed for reals or donating you items to a good cause.

Cheapstake is right...I brought a bag of all barley worn clothing.Forever 21, h&m, pink workout clothing etc. they took three items. 3. Offered me $8 cash or $10 store credit. The lady behind the counter had a terrible attitude. Was extremely rude. She said my items were not current. While the entire store is filled with worn down faded clothing. Mostly items with pilling and sequins. Lol. Then the wanted to keep my bag of clothes to “donate” as if I’m dumb enough to Believe they weren’t going to sell the items to make a profit. Goodbye. Took my bag and will be selling me stuff on Poshmark. Do not waste your time.

Updated information Within 5 hours. I originally accepted $40 15 items worth $230+. Not happy with the payment, I called back and they let me know that they dont necessarily give items back once payment has been accepted. I was told to call back when the manager is present, which I did, and they did allow me to come and get my items only if I could find them. Which was totally fine with me since I made the mistake of not asking them how much was it that they gave me for each item. And an associate (wish I knew her name), was so kind as to help me find the items that I wanted back. It was an easy process and I really didnt expect for them to help me as much as they did. I still wouldnt recommend this store for selling if you are expecting a large amount of money back they give you back 25% or less (maybe) of what they would sell an item for. Overall, thank you, Uptown Cheapskate for being patient with me and helping me by giving me my items back it really does help me a lot.

Incredible prices and excellent quality used clothes.

Let me start by saying the prices are very reasonable and I enjoy most of the styles they sell.I came here trying to sell a bag of clothes that included brands like J. Crew. They then returned the bag to me saying that the clothes had to be freshly laundered, to which I went home and washed them. I brought them back again and the next day they called me saying it was ready. I returned yet again only for them to give me $10. That was a lot of trouble just for them to give me $10 for clothes in very good condition AND freshly washed. There are clothes they sell with STAINS on them yet they scammed me for what little amount they gave me. Not only that, the night associates are the rudest people and absolutely do not do their job; they are the epitome of teenager retail workers. Needless to say, this store left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I hope I can warn others before going there: don’t.

This is by far the worst used clothing store I have ever been to they will cheat you out of your money. I bought a pair of shoes they were defective never got to wear them went to return them within the 14 day grace period said on the receipt then when I come in they say that its has to be within 7 days and they just have not got around to change the information on the receipt as to how and when you can exchange. they denied me an exchange or refund although I did not want my money back I just wanted to exchange it for something that was not broken they kept my shoes and sent me on my way. Needless to say Im out $40 for a used pair of shoes that never worked. I am beyond unsatisfied I do not recommend this place for anybody very bad customer service. Do not come here.
