This place is the BEST!!!! This guy knows his stuff and is great to explain and involve you in the process. Super nice guy and he even told me some things to try to fix my grandfather clock. My coo coo clock works like new. I was also able to get my grandfather clock working. I felt he was reasonably priced and I would highly recommend him.
After nearly 10 years of essentially being in storage, it was time to get the grandfather clock up and running. I did some online research and chose Bill to do the work. While there was one questionable review, good faith effort was made to correct the customer’s concern. I respect that effort.Bill quoted a reasonable price for his service which included him coming to my home and reassembling the clock, balancing the weights, adjusting the timing mechanism, and making it ‘sing’ again. He slotted me into his earliest appointment (next day) and arrived on time. His communication was clear and straightforward. After completing his work he described one item to be aware of and explained how it would be addressed if needed in the future. His final charge was exactly as quoted. In short, I am very pleased with the entire experience and would recommend Bill without hesitation.
I am sad that you were so disappointed with your clock repair! I am equally sad that I had to find out that you were disappointed with the repair through the google review. Your clock was in really bad shape when you brought it in I asked you if you were satisfied with the repair of your clock before you left my shop. You told me it looked good. I did point out to you that I colored the second hand because I did not have a large black second hand for your clock. You stated it was fine. You did not express any concerns at that time or any other time since the repair. I do stand behind my work and if you feel the service or finished repair was not to your expectations, please give me a chance to make it right. Please give me a call and bring in your clock so I can make it right for you.Thank youBill
Bill was great to work with. I stopped in to see if he could fix my clock, which he could!! Hooray, it hasnt worked for years. His office hours said he was closed, but I found him there. He stopped and helped me immediately. He had the clock fixed in less than an hour. Great Service! He is a super nice guy, very helpful.
Bill is very good. I took him an antique pocket watch that belonged to my grandfather that I had sent out of state for an evaluation & repair estimate about 5 years ago. Bill obviously loves what he does and did everything on that estimate (about $750) except replacing a lot of the internal parts, which he said wasnt needed because it runs fine. His price was about 1/4 the price I was quoted. He replaced the damaged dial and the broken crystal, polished it and cleaned and oiled it. He even gave me a display stand - I highly recommend him.
I have an Elgin wall clock that used to belong to my great grandmother. I have wonderful memories of her, so this clock is very special to me. The part in the back for the battery was dead. The hands and center were also loose, and it had a broken second hand. I depended upon prior positive reviews here to make my decision as to where to take it for repair. Sadly, my experience was awful. Nothing like others have reported here.He quoted me $60 to fix it. I thought that was a little high for a battery powered wall clock, but based on the reviews I figured he would be taking really good care of my clock, that it would look and work great when done and given how special this clock was to me, that it would be worth the price to have it fixed. So I agreed and left my clock to be repaired. When I came to pick it up, it was sitting upright against a desk. He brought it over, asking if it looked okay. I noted the second hand was badly bent and caught on the hands below it. He hurriedly bent it back and then explained he didnt have a black second hand, so he had painted a colored one for me. His shop is not well lit, and the second hand looked okay initially, other than it was still a bit bent. My kids were waiting for me outside, so I paid him and left. Out in the sunlight I could see the second hand better- it was black, mostly. It had reddish edges all the way around which stood out oddly in better light. Not sure how he could claim to have painted it, for if he had, the whole thing would have been black and not had such perfect colored edges. My anxiety was getting to me and my kids were wanting to leave, so I figured oh well, nothing a little black nail polish couldnt fix. I carefully placed my clock face up in a seat well away from my kids and went home. When I got there, I noticed the minute hand had fallen loose during the ride- apparently gravity and the slight bumping of the vehicle had caused it to come loose and the tip was now touching the face while the back end was up blocking the hour and second hands. A clock isnt supposed to do that and certainly not a clock that was just repaired. I gently tried to get the minute hand back into place- instead the hour hand slipped loose. The hands had just been balanced there, barely hanging on in place. I remembered how the clock had been sitting upright in the shop- if it had been laid face up, the hands would likely have not remained in place at the shop. The second hand was still going, so I took the battery out so that the second hand would stop trying to push against the minute and hour hands. At this point I also noticed how dirty the clock was. No effort had been made to clean it up. It still had the dust and dirt on it from storage. I took it inside, sat it upright, stood back and looked at it further. At that angle, I realized that the face of the clock had been put on crooked. The slightly raised face of the clock is supposed to be centered over a larger black circle below it. It wasnt.I broke down in tears, it looked so bad, was still not working correctly (non functioning hands) and I was now out the money Id saved to fix it. I considered taking it back, but it was not a short drive, parking was terrible, and at that point I didnt trust him to actually fix it anyway. A professional would have never let the clock leave his shop like that in the first place.Devastated, I put the clock away where I couldnt see it. Today I finally had the heart and time to see if I could fix it. Nail polish for the second hand and I was able to center the face and clean the clock easily enough. However, the hands wont stay in place no matter what I do. Also, I noticed how cheap looking the battery box is. It is both very hard to get the battery in and to set the time. Ive seen better ones on the back of cheap Walmart clocks.$60 and my clock is still broken. I dont know if the reviews here are all fake, if hes just no longer capable of doing a good job, or what. I just know that I dont want anyone to have the sad experience I had.
Bill did an amazing job repairing my grandfathers old Buren Pocket Watch. The watch was in complete disarray when I took it to Bill. In less than a week he completely restored it. It looks like a brand new watch.
Very nice man, did a great job the same day!!!!
Excellent shop, the proprietor really knows what hes doing and his craftsmanship is excellent.
Owner rebuilt a 100 plus year old pocket watch I love to carry and am attached to. Nice work and she is running strong and always in my pocket! Also replaced the crystal in another pocket watch I have that is 125 years old. Yes, I am an idiot and let it slip from hands on to the kitchen counter and broke it. He did a nice job on that one too.
Great service fixing my mantle clock. Quick service and fair prices.
