Horrible !!! I ordered a remanufactured motor for my Jeep Wrangler sahara with 0 miles for $2,800 on October 5th 2021. First they made an error and sent it to wrong location, no one knew where my motor was. Then finally I received motor a week late to have mechanic place motor, motor happened to be defective! NO GOOD! My Jeep now sounds like a Diesel Truck! I was also out of $1,400 for installation of supposed new motor! I called Josh of warranty department since last Friday October 22, he states by Monday he will have another motor as a replacement. Ive been calling them everyday since, no one returns any of my calls!! Today is Friday October 29, 2021 - I havent received the motor not even a call. I regret I gave a 5 star review prior to this one. Ive been patient notice the days it took before i made the decision to write this post. Do yourself a favor avoid purchasing any motors from this company they are unprofessional, irresponsible and are the worst by far!!!!

I couldnt find a 3.8 engine for my 1980 Buick regal anywhere, not one worth putting in my vehicle anyway, then I was referred to power train. I went online and submitted a request first. Then I called right after and Austin was immediately familiar with my name and what I was looking for. After weeks of unsuccessfully looking for this engine, Austin had me hooked up with what I needed in less than 5 minutes. The customer service from Austin was A1 and efficient, communication and understanding was excellent, and my rebuilt engine is being sent to me in a matter of weeks. I bought a engine for my 05 Chevy Silverado.The engine came and engine was defected. As of now I talked with the warranty department Joseph Rivera, too get the claim started, and once with the guy who took my order, Joseph Woods.Till this day neither one or no one will answer my call or return my call, always getting a voice mail or they’re on the other line. I was told I was offered an extended warranty which I wasn’t, I was only offered a package for extra parts. Now my mechanic is wanting too charge me twice for taking out an engine that was supposed too be good, and I can’t get in touch with the two names I spoke of. Not good business at all.

I spoke with Weston at Powertrain and was put at ease. Weston was very patient with all the questions I had and took the time to thoroughly answer every one I had. I would highly recommend this company and ask for Weston when you call!

I am from overseas and purchased 2 engines. Before doing so I made some specific questions asking details of the units. I asked if the units included turbos. The sales person answered immediately to my emails and confirmed the turbos were included. Very helpful team until I purchased the units. Finally the units came to my country without the turbos. When I made the claim, the sales person admitted his mistake but they are not willing to settle. They want me to purchase 20 more engines so that they can give me discounts enough to cover the extra payments I had to make to purchase the missing turbos. Manager Jason Hollinsworth has not answered me in 4 weeks, in which I tried to make contact many many times. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Been having several issues with multiple faulty engines. I call every day and the manager Jason is never in the office, or so I’m told. Every salesman tells me that Jason will call back- I had to threaten to leave a bad review to get a phone call from him. When he did call a week later, he was either drunk or high. Couldn’t even understand what he was saying. I don’t think he knew what he was saying. Poorly built products, no customer service, and no help with a resolution is what you get with Powertrain Company. Who operates a business without functioning management team??

I have a 98 ford Explorer with over 260K miles on it. The short story is I had my OEM transmission rebuilt by a local shop and it went out soon after the warranty was up. I wanted to find a remanufactured transmission that had more than a 1 year warranty and 15,000 miles. I found Powertrain online and reached out for a quote. Rob Valdez contacted me with a very reasonable quote for a remanufactured transmission with a 3yr, 100,000 mile warranty. Powertrain did not charge a core fee. They only charge if the core is not returned within a 45 day window. The transmission was shipped the day I ordered it. (Free shipping). After the new transmission was installed, Rob initiated the core return. The shipping company picked up the core (free shipping) and delivered on time without incident. Rob Valdez provides excellent, prompt, professional service. Ill reach out to him directly for any future needs I have. Powertrain and Ron Valdez have customer serivce figured out. Great work.

I purchased a 5.4L V8 F150 Engine & a Parts Kit from Powertrain. The engine & parts kit arrived promptly, packaged up tight ready to go. Unfortunately, once my mechanic got to work on my truck, he decided to fix the existing engine rather than install the Powertrain unit. I was happy to have my truck back, but now I had a spare engine !Everyone at Powertrain was great. I had purchased the engine from Erika. I called to let Powertrain know the situation & that I needed to restock the engine. Erika & Aneal could not have been more understanding. They helped me with everything and arranged pick up of both the 5.4L V8 Engine & the Parts Kit. The entire experience could not have gone more smoothly. While there was a small re-stocking fee, it was more than understandable given their incredible response times & high level of service.I look forward to buying from Powertrain again.

The transmission died in my 2007 Buick Lucerne with very low mileage (just over 56k miles). I had a quote from a local garage for a trans. I got one myself from Powertrain at much less than I would have paid the garage. Had it installed by a different shop and Im super pleased with the outcome. Lower price and excellent service from Albert who walked me through the entire process. I couldnt be more pleased. The trans works like a charm. Cannot even feel the thing shift gears. For those people who deal with a company expected to be perfect all the time are going to be let down on a daily basis what makes a good company is one that admits a mistake but rectifies them and takes care of them in a professional manner such as powertrain. I did not install the engine the technician I hired that has over 40 years of experience said it was a very good rebuild and he plans to use them in the future I myself have no problem with the engine has been running fine now for over 2 months and I am more than happy. so-in short in my opinion powertrain is very good and professional company and I will use them again.

Trent and Jason made the buying process simple. They were very knowledgable, helpful, and patient with providing us the answers we needed to get our engine ordered. The engine arrived to the shop when expected.

The ordering of the long block was very easy. All I had to do was provide the VIN of my truck. The price I would say is better that average. I do like the no fault warranty that you can get (would be better if it came with it though) I also did get an install kit that was around $340. extra and included water pump, upper and lower water hoses, spark plugs and wires thermostat and oil filter. One thing about the warranty on the engine is basically if you dont replace everything dealing with the oil for the engine it will void the warranty. ( in my case the radiator it had a built in oil cooler)The only thing I did not care for much and the reason for the 3 stars is I was a able to pick up the long block to save on shipping and to get it the next day and not have to wait a week for the engine (that was great) The bummer is when it comes to returning the old engine I only had a 30 min window to return the engine.. M-F 2pm to 2:30 pm only.

I had no problems getting an engine for my 2011 Camaro. It was delivered to my door and installed with no problems. 5,000 miles later I have issues with the engine. We call into the warranty number. Dealing with a technician is a pain. We call into a customer service line and they will transfer to a technician that is normally not at the desk or on the other phone line. It always ends up in a game of phone tag. They have determined that they sent me a faulty engine and are supposed to send parts to fix the timing chain and and anything else involved with the issue. A month and a half I have been without my main vehicle and still no parts. I will never deal with this company again.

When my mechanic screwed up the paperwork and bill of lading, these people took care of everything to make it right and get the core returned on a timely basis. It was a great experience and the engine runs flawlessy, already across the country and back. If I EVER need any engine again, Ill be back in a heartbeat.

What I am most impressed was how they handled a problem. We had ordered an engine and PowerTrain timely shipped the engine that was ordered. However for unrelated reasons my mechanic informed me that I would need a lot more work - putting the cost too high.I informed PowerTrain and they worked with me through the few sets that needed to be done. They made it easy for me. They returned phone calls when they said they would, matter of fact any delays was done to me not being able to call them back (I was in and out of the hospital at the time). I WAS VERY IMPRESSED.Bottom line -- PowerTrain provided the correct motor in a timely manner at the price agreed on. DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON POWERTRAIN. The company is a joke purchased a hemi engine not a month after installation is starts puking oil and knocking . Got everything done at a 5star mechanic . Get on the phone to call warranty and have to be redirected to a new company because powertrain doesnt actually own these engines. They told me I have to pay all repairs out of pocket then reimburse me . Wich is garbage because who has a grand or 3 laying around after you just spend 7grand . The company is a complete joke please do not waist your time with them .

This was a first time engine ordering experience for me and overall it was 1st class. Erika Dewar (sales rep) was a true professional from beginning to end and everything in between. The ordering process was informative, the RFQ was prompt and it shipped same day for next day delivery. Though we had a small miscommunication on the warranty, she was able to improve the level of coverage at an agreed cost that gave me a very good warm & fuzzy from a potential issue standpoint in the future. Next she hit a homer out of the park when the engine shipment didnt arrive as previously promised because of a transportation carrier error. She shipped another engine same day and it arrived the next day at the repair facility that kept my truck repair on schedule. Bottomline, it was an outstanding job of customer service and would recommend the POWERTRAIN team gladly. Great job gang!!

Accounting department is a joke

Be AFRAID. yes they treat you like family and provide great service while they are selling you an engine. I thought I was in good hands until one year to the date the BRAND NEW ENGINE I purchased STOPPED WORKING. I was out of a car for a month and ended up with a $4,000 bill from my mechanic. I have the Warranty that covers $50 an hour but no one pays their mechanics $50 an hour. Its $90 an hour and up. Yes you can buy and upgraded warranty for an additional $325 that pays $100 and hr. but you have to buy a parts kit also that is $325 so if you buy a brand new engine for $4100 that comes with a warranty of 5 years that apparently is not good enough. So in the end you have to pay $4100 plus the $650 and then you have to have it installed so now the total is $7,000. It was hard enough to come up with that and now this brand new engine requires an additional $4,000 ($1700 out of my pocket) POWERTRAIN WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I should have spent the additional $325 he said. Unless you have free flowing money I wouldnt not buy anything from these people. SELLING FLAWED NEW ENGINES.
