This was actually good place to shop once upon a time......Unfortunately it appears to have sold out to a chain of Mexican grocery stores...Its DISAPPOINTING, they have marked everything up some items even double the price.I truly am not prejudice I have several children of different ethnic origin, but they raise d the prices and basically took and made it a Mexican only market..

This store always smells so good walking in first thing in the morning. People here are nice and helpful

I love this place because this young lady named jammie helps the homeless and give them breakfast and lunch for free and do your laundry for free and let you take a shower for free they are awesome

5 stars because I grew up going to this grocery store and I also worked at smart saver as a teenager but I know from experience this is the best place to get groceries at bottom dollar. the cart guy is awesome by the way and so are the beautiful cashiers . My opinion is smart saver is the best grocery store ever!

They just need some meatballs and itd perfect lol they have everything else

I go there for Western Union and have a great great people working in the Western Union officer

The prices are better and it doesnt have a 10% tax at checkout anymore

I actually only went to this store one night because it was the closest to my friends home and I was doing her grocery shopping since she was sick. I was more than pleasantly surprised! They have a great selection, it is organized and clean, and the staff was so nice. I will definitely do more shopping there!Only wish is that there was a bigger selection for our four legged family members, my puppy is my baby and I had to get his snacks from another store and if it could stay open a little later would make a huge difference for shoppers like me that have to go later in the evening. Loved it it is not the taxes that are high is the 10% cost of buying the groceries that add to the taxes that causes them to be high but all in all a great store

The new owners immediately doubled the prices on every item in the store. Still no sackers and still long lines but now you pay more than you would at a store with all checkout lines open and your purchase bagged and placed in the car for you . I have done my weekly shopping there for 15 years but I am no longer a customer.

Milk was spoiled but expiration date was fine and lunchables look like they had been left unrefridgerated and the cheese was melted but they put them back in the cold.

I purchased a pack of ribs and opened them and it almost took my breath away come to find out they were expired ive been calling to speak to a manager but no one is answering the phone they are not that busy to not pick the phone and take my call i will never ever by any meat products from the again

Changed owners again and is no longer, in anyway, a decent place to shop. Management does nothing and will constantly lie as in such manner as to say he doesnt speak English and then turn around and speak english seemingly fluently. They will leave two registers open and allow lines to stretch into aisles while multiple people will just stand around talking and making rude gestures and comments towards patrons. I live two blocks away but will be traveling any distance just to avoid the awful experience Ive come to know as regular operations at this establishment.

Wish it was still Buy-for-less. Now its more expensive

I enjoy going here. Its never too busy. I live less than a mile away. They have a very budget friendly section in the south east corner area. & their always friendly.

Place used to have the best meat market around. On 5-30 my wife bought a big pack of country style ribs. Opened them up tonight 6-1 and they were spoiled. The package had a sell by date of 5-31. This happens again well start going someplace else

Been coming here for a while now..everything from food to medicine and beer.

Didnt have all i needed but had good prices all around.

Helped me out in a pinch, expecially during the big ice storm because we had no power in our home and I needed some firewood to keep my wife and I warm from freezing and they were the only place that had some within a about a 50mile radius. Thanks Smart Saver.

Store is probably okay, but they changed owner, took out items I really liked, and play nothing but Spanish music. I go for a few items, but major shopping is elsewhere.

The A/C was not great because of poor air circulation. If they put some fans in corners on ceiling, it would be a very pleasant shopping experience.

This place offers terrific sale prices on items every week, but watch the prices during checkout. Four times in 2 months their registers were not coded with the sale price. If you catch it after she totals it, you have to pay for it then go stand in another line to get reimbursed for the difference. The cashier cannot fix the price.

Low cost items and easy to find products.

This store used to be decent to go into. The cashiers are are slow checking customers out and are quite rude! The only reason people frequent this store is because its convenient to this particular neighborhood.

I was impressed with the price until the end of my trip and then I realized that the extra 10% was added on along with the state tax as well overall I think it is a good place to shop at the products are always good and the store is always well stocked and clean

I just found this grocery store and now I wont shop anywhere else. The store is huge with a full bakery, huge meat department and tons of fresh fruits and vegetables. All the the prices are great and a lot cheaper than most places in the area.

Smart Saver advertises their price as cost plus another 10% at the register. So when you are in the aisles looking at butter for $2.15 its really $2.37 and youre not really saving anything at all. Yes, it says on a sign when you walk in about the added 10% but most people arent thinking about that when they are shopping. And due to the wonderful education people have received, reading a sign is beyond their capabilities and so they dont know about it and are very surprised when they get to check-out. I shop there if I have to but I dont like the place. I wish it was still Best Buy.

Usually go here to save a little but past few visits have made me question if I continue .4 different items were clearly on sale and none rang correctly. So had to wait on manager. There is only 3 cashiers so people behind me are being vocal. But 48 cents for stove top is a good deal. But to get attitude from cashier because I wanted posted price left a bad taste in my mouth.

A great store with great prices and usually great personnel but they are all smaller stores so the selection is minimal. If you have the spare time b its a good idea to shop at one of these stores first and then to a larger store to fill in the blanks or connect the dots, however you want to look at it. Based on that I give them give stars, because Im aware of what Im getting when I enter.

Excellent selections at very good prices. Ive never had any issues with the selection of products or the quality of products. The prices are quite good, they advertise cost plus 10% and are certainly cheaper than other places for the same products. The only complaint Ive ever had is the lack of cashiers when they are busy.Definitely worth a look.

They have good process the only thing that gets me is they charge 10/ sur charge on food stamps and the only thing you should get with a food stamp card is food but here they are charging the people who need that little bit for their family its bad when a store has to take food out of kids mouth

Good place to shop if your in a hurry. The big box store is a little cheaper. Smart Saver offers more house brands than the big box store at lower prices, name brands arent much too much cheaper. But still not a bad place to shop.

Great place to go to buy Hispanic Foods. Great place to see Hispanic people. Not a bad place really.

This place is incredibly cheap. You can feed a family of five for eight months with only $2.18. It will blow your mind.Super nice helpful staff and while youre there get yourself some brisket and ribs right by the front door.

Its ok, but you need time to burn bc the check out line takes forever. UPDATE: This store is set to close its doors for good. Jan 31 is laat day open. I dont know about any other stores.

I like this store prices are great has a pretty good selection every person that has help me there has been professional and friendly they also have some smoked bbq pulled pork and other meat for a great price just make sure u have cash for that I would for sure recommend

There is a Good selection of food. Excellent meat selections. The prices are competitive with Walmart. But, not really friendly, no one said hi nor ask if I needed any assistance.

Lots of variety to choose from but not enough brands that I have to go to Walmart for.

The place looks dirty and ran down. Cashiers are cordial but not real friendly unless youre of a certain race. Perishable food products look as if out of date because the bins all seem out of going out. Produce seems fine though.

Cannot believe Ive never been here before, obviously food is on the cheaper side but I saw 3 separate employees checking produce for freshness and rotating them out -the meat counter had my mouth watering and Im a vegetarian, the bathrooms were clean and the staff was super friendly, every one was smiling and keeping busy. My new all the time grocery store for sure.

Just left the Smart Saver on SW 44th and High. Saw a man that worked there in the meat department kicking a package of beef along the floor because he was too lazy to pick it up. Fresh meat, with blood in the package. Are you kidding me? How clean is that? When he had finally kicked it where it needed to be, he finally leaned over and picked it up and put it back with the other meat in the cooler....to sell. Flabbergasted! I called the store manager while I was in line waiting to pay. I had to wait 20 minutes for a lady to finally come to the phone to tell me she is the translator because the manager cannot speak English. What?!?!? I realize I’m in a predominate Hispanic area, but this is not ok. This store lost my business and is getting reported to higher management. Health hazard deluxe!
