I like shopping at Giants the staff are very pleasant, easy to talk to. The pharmacy staff are also very pleasant and helpful.
This Giant is awesome. Its so modern and clean. Staff is very friendly. I no longer live in Maryland so when I came for a visit it is a pure pleasure. Please bring Giant to NC.
This is my go to store. Im still getting used to the new store. but if you like Giant, youll like Olney store.
The employees are very friendly and helpful. Store is clean and inviting.
Jordan, the cashier and Courtney were fabulous! Great customer service!
Convenient location, fresh ingredients - overall great place!
Clean wonderful great customer service. The cashiers are a very polite and friendly.Thank you.
Giant is a pretty good grocery store. I dont know why they dont have any frozen pizza I like, but otherwise theyre providing what I need.
Everything looks so good. Everything! Its remarkable.
They have a great variety of groceries but the prices can be much higher here. Aldis is still much better for quality and price. However this location does have numerous products that Aldis doors not have. The self checkout machines can be a bit tricky with coupons. Self scanned coupons seem to scan as $0, but change to their discount amounts right before paying
Least expensive grocery store in Olney; however, I have noticed that restock times tend to be longer than the other stores. Generally good selection.
Clean store, has everything and helpful staff too.
Clean Giant. Good service
Clean store with good selection
Heard about this new Giant from a friend. How excellent customer service is, how clean the store is etc. I went to this store for first time and I was very impressed with everything. This store deserves not five, but 10 stars. Thank you for the memorable and unforgettable experience.
Best giant in the area
A very clean place 👌 with great people working together
I really love this store. The staff are so kind.
Nice clean store
George runs the place. It is good.
Great customer service, always stocked, amazing deli department that have to go food ready!!! the lines are always short plus the employees are very helpful!!!!
A great location. I was there today and the store seemed very modern. Nice, clean and very spacious. It even has a Starbucks inside. I was very pleased with the layout and selection. Was a nice and smooth visit today, even checking out went well.
Outstanding!!!! Very clean. The seafood was the BEST IVE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!! The guy even gave me information about what the difference is in choices of Salmon. The aisles have great signs tgats visible. Great customer service. I enjoyed it!!
Love this giant. Usually very quite. Love the Starbucks in it. Personally my favorite in this area.
Its new. Its big. The parking lot is horrible. I dont know if their staff parks right in front but its always full but once you get inside, not busy. Im pleased with it now. Mary the cashier is so nice and chats just enough but quick to get you out. Mary 5 stars.😁
If you want the best steak in the state come to this place. Their meats are amazing and fresh local produce as well.
Excellent store
Big supermarket with lots of prepared food options. Large cheese shop. Bakery, deli, pharmacy, etc. Good sized produce section for a Giant. Some of the aisles are a little tight for two carts to pass each other.
Very new and open concept. They have a modern hot food bar which is reminiscent of Wegmans. Overall great Giant experience with great products and great pricing.
I have been going to Giant for over 20 years and absolutely love it. I am sure the new location will be fabulous. The staff is super friendly and its like Cheers, where everybody knows your name, lol! I do wish they would bring Kurt back, he was an awesome addition to the Giant Team!
Went to get crabs from the crab truck, Hoopers, I had also gotten them 2 weeks ago and they were very good, and today, not so much, I had gotten a half bushel, and out of all of the crabs, there where none that had both claws, and maybe a dozen that had one claw, all the rest had no claws, and they werent even hot, wont be getting any more from the truck again, they also were supposed to be all number 1s, and maybe they where 3 and a half that were 1s all the rest shouldnt have even been in this mix, one hundred dollars for 2 to 2 and a half dozen that were edible, UFB, like I said before, never again.
Giant took over Shoppers Food with little to zero improvement. Shelves empty and no new features...There are 4 other major chains within blocks so they better up their game.
As far as Giant Foods go, it is a 5 star. I gave it 4 because all the media made it out to be a special gourmet thing like Wegmans, and it totally wasnt. Just a new Giant.
The new location is very nice, good selection of high quality produces.
Giant food is awesome. Well stocked. Great displays. Clean and bright.
Excellent produce consistently. They have a nice variety of specialty items including gluten free.
Love My Giant! Ive been shopping there for years. What I love most is that its a smaller Giant, Very Friendly, and Clean, the Customer Service is outstanding, which is definitely a reflection of the management. Theyre competitively priced and its overall a Happy place to shop .💟
This Giant seems to have it all including a good selection of Blue Buffalo pet foods and treats which makes it easy for me to enjoy one-stop shopping.
Giant is nice and have low prices and my kids love it because all they have candy my kids love candy that’s all
Yesterday evening I visited the Giant. I was in an isle shopping for tampons. I was standing still in front of the shelf comparing prices. While I was standing still someone walked in to me and shouted “Watch out!” and shook their head at me. The person was an employee of the store named Allan. I usually shop at Harris Teeter and I have never encountered such an angry store associate.
Associate Karen Williams is known to me from my job, and for years we have always greeted each other. Recently I had a question about a product location, saw Karen and asked her. Didnt know she had just gotten off work and was on her own time. Not only did she tell me where the product was--she walked with me to the correct aisle---ON HER OWN PERSONAL TIME!!!!!Please have corporate contact her and give her at least a pat on the back for superior customer service--BUT PERHAPS ALSO A RAISE!!! She deserves it and Giant needs more people like Karen helping us!!Bill MarcusGiant Customer For LifePS praise also to the pharmacy staff, George and Susie!!
Store very pretty. Very nice upgrade from their old location.
Nice store. Lots of variety. Sure bests the fump in Leisure world
Prices are pretty good, everything is signed and clean. The store is well lite and organized. Quick help at the self check out if you have a problem.
This Giant has been having a lot of good sales lately, it has a lot of unique fruits and vegetables that are fresh, it also has a bakery that bakes cakes to order, good deli selection and service. It also has fresh seafood depending on what is in season, a pharmacy and the employees are polite and courteous
Too Big! I usually walk my legs off in that store. Im sure there is a reason every is so spread out but the seniors would rather go to smaller stores.!!! Also stop changing location of products. Its always a hunt.
Great place for groceries, just wish they would keep better stock. Hopefully the new location will be better about this.
Most people do their grocery shopping in place. Price is acceptable with great discounts on most products. Vegetables sections need more attention though.
Update 8/24/2021 - to the owner I appreciate you replying. If you send me a specific contact that is focused on this issue, Im happy to help them.I didnt mention in the prior update that the staff there are very kind and helpful. The problem with the store is 100% inventory control.Recent examples since the 8/1 update:A couple weeks back the store was completely out of heavy whipping cream -- for at least two weeks the entire refrigerator section where that is kept was empty. The other grocers in town were fully stocked. We asked the person working back there what was going on. They said they had been ordering it daily for over a week to no avail. It did not restock for a week after that!Another example is that the store appears to no longer carry Diet Mountain Dew products of any size or format. I havent seen it in there in a few weeks. Its the 3rd most popular diet soda in the country, behind diet coke and diet pepsi, why would that not be carried? It appears that inventory analytics are not used or well leveraged. The store does not appear to respond appropriately to the popularity of items such ordering more at a time, giving them more shelf space, and not cancelling them. As well, the empty shelves are not only bad for revenue, they represent a customer inconvenience when something is expected there.Update 8/1/2021 - dropping rating from 5 STARS to 3 STARSWhile we are still quite pleased with Giants self-checkout process, the fastest an easiest town, their inventory control has been really bad. During COVID they got their inventory back in order months later than the other grocery stores in town.It appears there are underlying issues not related to COVID. For example cat food and supplies for the past few months have been completely barren. Once they irresponsibly posted a sign that their barren shelves were due to a nationwide buying panic of pet food/supplies, yet the other two grocery stores in town were fully stocked and I could get same and next day shipping from Amazon on all those products. Its irresponsible as their sign could have caused an actual panic.Snapple products, especially their popular diet half and half have been barren for months now. In all these strange inventory issues, they leave the shelf space open and empty. So like the pet food, the snapple/tea products have a large stretch of empty shelf dedicated to them for months.Popular Morningstar breakfast products such as their veggie bacon are inexplicably no longer carried, left with empty slots for weeks. 647 bread, the new popular low carb bread from Schmidts appears replenished with a few loaves each week, for the space to then sit empty for the remaining 6 days of the week. Its unfortunate, we literally have to go to one of other stores wed prefer not to go to just to get the goods we normally buy. Not sure what is going on, but it is very disappointing.Original review (5 STARS)This Giant is great and I love that they have taken the radical position of trusting their customers with self-checkout. Theyve turned off the scales so if you are buying several of a heavy or awkward item (like 12 paks of soda), you can scan and leave them in your cart. Further, it seems like the scales on self-checkout devices never work right and result in frequent please wait, help is on the way... so they eliminated those kind of frustrations. I sincerely hope that shoppers are honest and do not abuse this so we can continue with this arrangement. It is a breeze to checkout and I can say that is one of the main reasons I shop here. They won my business from Harris Teeter that had been my go to, mainly due to pleasure of fast no-fuss checkout. Also they leave self-checkout open until they close. I always found it mind boggling that grocery stores would close self-checkout early, you would think it would be the opposite.Im very pleased with price, selection, and sales. They have a nice new produce and floral section. Great job to the owners and management for elevating this store above the rest!
Poor customer service. Deli, bakery and fish counter all have problems. People standing around talking (deli), Slow unknowledgeable people (fish market) and major attitude (bakery). Not one visit, but consistent. Havent had to deal with the butcher yet. Managers are present or ones with attitude. Best I can figure, Giant employees hate their jobs and just dont care.
Always well stocked, good variety of options and friendly staff.
They have many, many options for food. Much better than Safeway.
Nice and new but the gray looks like a prison.
Love this place. Every generation in my family shops here. ;-)
In a town with too many grocery stores, this one is well run by a friendly staff. Selection could be bigger but the competition in town is steep. Just the same, its still a favorite.
A neighborhood meeting spot. Well stocked with friendly, helpful employees. Mostly readily available parking.
Best grocery store in Olney,md to shop. Always good prices wo waiting for sales like Safeway or buying 5 of an item like Harris-Teeter. Always friendly helpful people whollgo out of their way, unlike Safeway where Ive had a night manager get upset at me bc I complained that 1 of their items, broccoli, never rings at the on sale price, you have to use an a special item number at checkout to get the sale price, which means people doing self checkout get screwed unless watchful. And Giants self checkout is way better setup also.
Store is very big, very nice, and new. The only negative that I can spot is the parking. It is NOT good.
Expensive
I go to this grocery store for my meats. The meat server provides me with fresh meats. Employees very friendly. Great store.
Thanks to the lady of flowers for the balloons, she made the most enjoyable purchase with daughters.
Good selection of produce and an expanding natural and organic items. Customer service is attentive . Love the homemade chicken soup like no other store.
They have a great selection of products for great prices. They also have free parking.
The store is nice. The parking spaces are absurdly small, so much so that I dont like shopping there just because its an accident waiting to happen.
This is one of the best giant locations Ive seen!
For all the hype about this store opening and Giants new format, I found the new store very underwhelming. Theres more space, yes, and its got an updated, more modern, look, but I didnt really see much in the way of new non-traditional brands to make use of that expanded space (think brands other than those owned by the Kraft Heinzes of the world). I only saw one product I hadnt ever seen before (a cold-brewed Kona coffee) and there were several products I I specifically looked for that were noticeably absent (for example, Endangered Species Animal chocolate--the best of the best... They had 10 varieties of the usual suspects from Lindt though, just not what most younger folks are looking for, IMO). Bottom line, if you liked Giant before, youll probably like this new store. But if youre looking for them to bring you in and convert you from Harris Teeter or Safeway, youre going to be disappointed. As a parting comment for Giants management, Id recommend trying to cater more to the younger generations and the things theyre looking for (some of which Ive mentioned above). Maybe you think you have time to do that in another 15-20 years, but youre losing time unless you really REALLY impress us. And with changing shopping habits and online options, I think your horizon is much sooner.
I just love everything about gaint.
Got what I needed. My cashier was very friendly. Felt like I have known her forever. I was visiting town and went twice. Made sure to choose her line on my return visit.
Very nice new store Deli fresh seafood
Great selection for healthier options and employees are also very pleasant at this location.
Very Very good every day 😍💜
The best place they have in onley and leased world
Quick in & out, no lines, friendly cashier. Awesome job Olney, MD Giant!!
Everything you want and good prices too
Clean store, good customer service, nice produce/bakery/meat department.
Nice, a bit older than some. Self checkout is much better than most.
Large supermarket with everything you need. Love the ability to scan and bag while shopping.
Mary Anne was very helpful at the pharmacy. Kind and thoughtful.
Nice enough Giant. Products are more upscale than most.
They have a great selection for great prices. They also have free parking.
Clean good customer service, but phone left on hold and forgotten about.
Great store, awesome staff - especially the Pharmacy group.
Always has a fresh produce section. Everything I always need is always there and stocked.
This is the most well stocked and clean of the Giant food stores!
The door to home out of the store is too narrow. It makes it difficult to maneuver a full and heavy cart. Please change the doors to open from the middle going into the wall. You can tell I am into human factor engineering. Thanks
Beautiful clean store, friendly service.
Lady manager of the meat department was a huge help to me!! Many thanks, and Im sorry I didnt get your name
Nice new store, so fancy💗
Always helpful and having everything you need oln stock
Always find expired food. But least expensive food in Olney
Great place I shop there
The Olney Giant is clean, the shelves are always stacked and very rarely can I not find what I need. With my Giant card and coupons the prices are more than reasonable!
Good place to shop food stuff
Better than the Aspen Hill giant by a long shot
Its okey...Prices are high taged....!!!
Friendly staff. Produce better than SFW but on par with Safeway and HT. I shop here mainly because of the gas rewards program.
Good clearance items and prices!
Always stocked. New options.
The store was so ice cold I couldnt finish my shopping because I had to leave to get warm. Didnt know I needed a winter coat in Sept to shop
