Very nice personnel looks like they build quality engines
They are nice and get the job done.
Great little machine shop. The owner Paul is a really knowledgeable guy. They do great work.
Great Job! As always
Fast and great service
Great shop and great employees. Daniel was very professional, efficient, and informative. I dropped a head off for 94 Protege to be pressure tested and milled at 8:30 a.m. Daniel knocked it out and it was ready the same day. I will definitely use this shop for any future machine work I need.
Excellent Service!! I had my flywheel resurfaced there, and it came out perfect. The guy who did the service was really cool, he came out and told me that it fell within the proper measurements to still be within OEM Specs and showed me his work which was excellent, I was really impressed with his work overall.Excellent work guys, keep it up!!
Very nice people and great service.I took an industrial engine head there on recommendation from my neighbor and local business owner. Paul stopped what he was on, did a cursory check to make sure it was straight enough and checked me in. I had it back the next afternoon. He cut it only as needed, .025, and ground just 2 valves.
From my experience, when I went into National Machines, Paul greeted me with respect and even stopped what he was doing to give me a free diagnostics on my truck. I personally understand a decent level of mechanics but was unclear of the problem with my truck. With one test drive from Paul, he was able to explain to me what was wrong with my truck and helped me prioritize what should be taken care of first.I would say my favorite part about my visit there at National Machines was that they were a no hassle establishment that did not pressure me into getting all of my work done there and right now. I was thinking my transmission was going, and it turns out that it was my clutch fan that had a defect (a much less expensive fix). It is easy to see that the National Machines company values include Integrity, Honesty, and good ole hard work!
Paul is always professional, personable and to the point. I think my personal favorite part of this shop instead of others, is that they specialize in both domestic AND Japanese engines. Ive had reliable work done on my Sr20det head and am currently having an Rb20det head worked on there. I only recommend this shop. Sorry to everybody else :/
Extremely good quality work at a great price. This is the only machine shop I will go too. Paul is very respectful and gave me great information on my build.
I have used Paul and his staff on several occasions. The work is always top notch and reasonably priced. I would recommend National Machine for your automotive needs.
I have had 3 engines and 2 sets of heads done at this shop. All of the work is very good the price is reasonable. I like the fact that Paul doesnt talk down to you and offers free advice on how to proceed with your builds.
Valve seats not installed correctly. Valve stems chaffed and got stuck in the passages. Had to pay another machine shop to re-do the job. Paul refused any refund for his shotty work. Avoid this place!!!
Price was under half compared to all other shops I called. Paul took the time to show me the shop. Plus military discount.I will use Natinal machine from now on for all my machining needs.
Dishonest and deceptive. Wont honor their warranty. They claim the motor wasnt broken in right dispite no evidence of this claim. They have now decided to stop answering the phone for me. Poor quality and leaving me on the hook for the repair bill. Would avoid. In reponse to the owners comments on this review:I asked the shop to warranty the engine and they agreed to give me the parts (which is a tiny fraction of the cost of the repairs) because the warranty hadnt been activated properly. Initially they gave me new lifters and rods but when I called them back to ask for a cam shaft they changed their tune. There has never been evidence presented to me that the engine wasnt installed properly and this wasnt even bought up till I asked for the cam shaft. I am not aware of an improper installation that would result in a cam lobe to fail in the way it did after only a few hundred miles. These are the only parts I asked for. I was never aggressive in any way. I did tell them I would be writing a review of my experience since they decided that an $80 camshaft was just too unreasonable of a request. I would rather do business with a place that will support their customers without having to feel sorry for them.
I took some front control arms in to have new bushings pressed in.Firstly they sandblasted the paint (which I didnt request) and then must have left them outside or something, because they were all rusty when I went to pick them up.The shop mangled one of the bushings installing them, so I had to buy another and install it myself.Lastly when I went to pick them up, the gal in the office totally ignored me, for a good length of time while carrying on a personal phoneconversation.I guess when youre the only game in town you can treat customers however you want.
If I could give less than a single star I would. Paul was the person I dropped my engine off with. I was quoted 1-2 weeks and $1300-1450. The project took 4 weeks and I ended up paying $1571. Along with my engine coming back late, I received a box of misc parts - which I guess is standard, but I am missing at least my Harmonic Balancer and my Timing Chain Cover. My clutch plate had huge glops of what looked to be bearing grease on it. When I picked up Paul was extremely rude. I wouldnt recommend this shop to anyone. Good customer service could have remedied all of this with the same outcome of price.
I received outstanding service with my rear drum issue and would highly recommend National Machines!
This company has always treated me well.
Called about getting some work done. Horrible people skills. I would find another shop.
Quick, affordable and quality work.
The price was OK i guess the service sucked massively they looked at me like a teen and through me on the back burner basically and i show i could pay any price he could throw at me and he looked at me like i was kidding it would have been better if the just stop with the profiling and not give me excuse after excuse
Excellent work
