They demanded every customer have a mask even those with medical waivers but they also had spare mask to offer incase someone required it. There were a huge selection of instruments and a healthy size section of unique instruments not often saught after like the accordion. The staff was very knowledgeable and available to answer questions without hovering over you while you shopped. Everyone there looked like they thoroughly enjoyed being there and I overheard a number of times customers telling staff that they had already found and purchased what they came for but they wanted to explore more and spend more money then they should .

Always have what I need and the staff are always knowledgeable and never pushy. Ive been shopping here for years and will continue to for a long as they stay in business. You can buy gear online but online retailers cant help you setup your gear or service your valve amp and the prices here are just as competitive as any online dealer. Go check them out and help patronize your local music scene.

I first shopped at Music 6 in the early 90s, it was my favorite music store then, and still is today. The customer service is great, the level of expertise and knowledge from the employees is phenomenal. Among the the many purchases I have made there I was recently able to get the guitar of my dreams (Les Paul Standard 60s edition). The knowledgeable and friendly staff helped me to get exactly what I wanted with no pressure if gimmicky sales pitch. Its a must stop and visit type of music store, if you are in Olympia and enjoy playing music.

My Daughter and I had a great experience at Music 6000 today. Stopped to pick up her Kala Ukulele and she test drove a couple guitars, several Ukuleles and found a great Key Board she likes. The Music 6000 sales team is Amazing, although we are sad we missed the lightsaber battle posted on instagram.😅🤣😅. Thanks guys

Awesome customer service! Went to buy a guitar amp and was treated like I was the only customer in the building. Not only did the sales person explain all the functions of a newer type amp but he also demonstrated the amp. Not only is it a great place to buy gear it is also a mom and pop store.

I went in looking for an Acustic electric guitar. They had many of them. They didnt have many to choose from around the 300 to 400 range. I did find one for the 500 to 600 range. They had plenty of ukeleles to choose from as well as electric guitar and base guitars. There was an electric guitar I liked for 200. The store is always clean and has many different instruments to choose from. I was asked if I needed help like 5 times in 30 minutes, at least there are people there willing help. I would recommend stopping by and taking a look

I wanted to pick the guitar back up and am new to electric guitars. I was given sometips on what to look for in an entry level electric guitar and accessories I’d need. They were not pushy sales people trying to get me to buy things I didn’t need or a more expensive model that didn’t serve me. Everyone was very nice! I’ll be back in the future :)

Its hard for me to get to Olympia during business hours. I called ahead to ask if I could arrive around closing to make a $300 purchase. I got a you know what man, people have stuff to do. If you dont want my money Ill buy off of Amazon. Its easier and they dont act like adolescents

Came here because I had a few trumpets that I was looking to find out how much they were worth and see if they were interested in maybe purchasing them from me. Music 6000 has been part of my life for years now. #1 place to go if you have musically inclined kids but no knowledge yourself! They are all amazing and knowledgeable and understanding of being in a budget!!!

Was a customer in this store since 2018. I travel about a 2+ hour round trip. Dropped my guitar off for a set up. Picked it up about a week later and found the guitar had worse issues than it had before I dropped it off for the routine set up. When I asked the guitar tech about the issues he becomes insulted, doesnt even listen to my concerns (talking over me) plus, there are major smudge and soils all over the body. I engaged the store manager Ken on this and of course, he attempts to explain the tech doing everything he could to keep the guitar in tune for instance. The guitar was purchased new 2 years ago and there was nothing wrong with it prior to Music 6000. Ken offered a refund on the set up fee, but it will cost me untold amounts to repair my damaged guitar. Dont know where Music 6000 lost their way, but I would not recommend doing business with them, Im done with them.

My 1970 Ovation has not played or sounded this good in about 15 years. The guitar tech does a great job. Very reasonably priced for a new nut and saddle.

Favorite music store in town for name brand stuff. This is where I go instead of guitar center.Theres also Capitol City Guitars downtown which is great for more pro craftsman level guitar service and repairs, but I like Music 6000 for when I want to browse a bit and check out pro audio etc.

Went inside to play some music. They only allow 15 minutes to be inside, which is fine, but the employees there would not stop reminding me. Remember when you could go into a music store and play music? Music 6000 is too good for that now.

They are very helpful and ask what exactly you may need certain components for so that they can better understand and know what they can recommend you use if youre not sure exactly what you need. They also have good prices on there equipment and instruments. Excellent customer service!! I will be going here from now on for my DJ equipment needs and will recommend them to everyone I know. I hate I didnt get the reps name that helped me . He was really helpful and patient with me. Thanks for the help and good deals!

Just getting into playing guitar. The used inexpensive one I have didnt have strap buttons.The cool guy at Music 6000 not only sold them to me, but told me how and where to install them.A simple thing brings such great joy to an old man!

This is a great business, but most people work Monday -Friday.The only time I have to shop is on the weekends.Closing the store on the weekends doesnt make business sense.

Hard to say anything less about this place. They have instruments, most at a great deal. Lots to look at and friendly, knowledgable staff. We did guitar and drum lessons through them (they provided a list of private instructors) which we and the kids enjoyed.

This is probably my favorite music store in Thurston county. It has a great selection of guitars, keyboards, amps, and drums and if youre looking for orchestral instruments you probably wont be able to find them here but they have great variety of guitars. The staff is also very knowledgable and the prices are decent. Good place to come for your music needs.

Brought my parents here when they were in town and they loved it. They had a great selection of instruments, though I didnt go farther than the ukuleles. I love ukuleles. We also checked out the rental deal for instruments, as my daughter wants to play violin next year. Seems like a great place to rent instruments.

Ive mostly purchased pa gear and microphones from music 6k and they have a decent selection for a small(er) town music store. I just bought a new acoustic guitar from them and it was a really good experience. I havent played in 15 years, so im basically starting over. They had most of the low-mid to mid-priced guitars that Ive been looking at and the sales associate played all of them for me so that I could hear what they sounded like.

The people working there are all absolutely amazing. I love them all. They all know so so so much about Guitars, drums, pianos, etc. You name it. They probably know it. They have a lovely selection of guitars. Which is only what I look at there, only being a guitarist and singer. But, amazing people. I will always love to go there for any of my musical needs.

I went in to have my acoustic guitar fixed but the guy who the give them to never got around to fixing mine. 2 months later I just asked for it back fixed or not. Im not angry I just wished they were more organized. Appointments and wait times could help.

Easily the best live music shop in South Puget Sound with a great variety of acoustic and electronic stringed instruments, brass instruments, percussion instruments, lessons and supplies. If these folks dont have what youre looking for, they know someone who does. Youll need to go to Seattle or Portland to find anything more, but why bother?! Theyre happy to do special orders, too!

My family and I walked into the store 10 minutes before closing. They didnt make us feel rushed at all. Im disappointed that I dont remember the name of the guy that helped me but he was awesome. Ive rented equipment from there twice and both times I received excellent customer service from staff (I believe the specific staff member helping me was Nova). The rates were fair, it is in a great location with ample parking, and the store is large with a lot of exciting things to look at.

Overall, I really like this store. They have a great selection of instruments at fair prices. They will work with you on price if you pay in cash vs card. They have a local musician directory.The only beef I have with them is this:I had a guitar in for a full setup (intonation, action, etc). When I got it back, it had fretbuzz on the low E. I had them readjust it and they were happy to do so. When I got it back and was billed, they tacked on strings and an extra 10 bucks. I was quoted at 50 bucks and walked out paying $70. I asked them about this price difference and they told me I was misquoted. Capital City guitars does full setups for cheaper and I will go there next time I need one.
