Great place to buy a stringed instrument or have repairs. Beautiful craftsmanship and fairly decent prices (hope you have insurance though) the owner is very friendly and loves hearing people try out the instruments in the practice rooms. The acoustics are amazing and if youre lucky hell show you some super cool instruments. Last time I went there he let me hold an $80,000.00 bow. It was exhilarating to say the least.

Amazing shop, friendly knowledgeable staff. Ive purchased a violin from this shop, and had a good amount of work done on different violins. If youre looking to purchase your first or 5th instrument, they ensure the experience is unforgettable. They do not rush you, they answer all your questions, and respect your budget. If your budget is $900 they will let you try out different instruments within your range so you dont fall in love with a $1300 instrument that they try to then push you to purchase. My instruments are my babies and I trust this shop without hesitation. Ive moved from the area but this would be my go-to shop recommendation. They are a bit on the pricey side, but I have confidence in the work they perform and the customer service I will receive. I also get the impression they are not a shop that would sell a product they cant stand by. Shop local!

Fantastic violin shop! Incredible wealth of knowledge and they always go far beyond to help with any needs. Mr Ray has hosted luthier nights for young violin students where they got to learn about the craft of violin and bow making. We feel all our violin needs will always be taken care of having this shop in our community.

I dont write reviews good or bad. I never find the time. This shop, however, warrants at least something from me. After all, they spent over an hour with me. No judgement from the staff, not pushy like typical sales personnel. Very accommodating and courteous. From a craftsman point of view this shop lives to create and truly strives to enhance the trade while preserving it. Rude? No. They are very welcoming even when busy. Keep in mind that true craftsmen and engineering types arent known for their personalities, they reflect passion and personality through their work and art. They typically respond to respect and appreciation. This shop treated me very well. I would highly recommend them to most. The other few who wouldnt have a similar appreciation, I would send elsewhere.

Highly recommended for repairs.They restored my 1950s violin and it plays and sounds great. Highly recommended for repairs, especially if your instrument is expensive, delicate or holds sentimental value.It may seem pricey but thats because its incredibly skilled work and is totally worth it. When it comes to violins, this is the only place I trust.

I went in the store for a cello mute, and the staff was very helpful and didnt look down on my son, who is in a school orchestra. They seemed to genuinely love encouraging young musicians.

I transitioned from a 3 quarter size cello to a full size cello (Im renting it) and it was an easy procces. Great quality cellos and the bows especially.

I was in search of an instrument by a particular maker and contacted Robert for help. Although he did not have any instruments by this maker, he quickly made some phone calls and set me on a path to help me track one down, even after it became clear there was no financial interest in it for him. I will always be greatful for his kindness and hope to do business with him in the future, even though I live out of state.

First time there, the people at the shop were friendly. I was in a hurry otherwise would have lingered. The violin we rented had some dings but its for my 9 year old to try orchestra, so no biggy.

I found the people who run this shop to be rude and elitist. Their behavior made my son feel humiliated about his playing and they wouldnt fix his cello stating it wasnt worth investing in. They encouraged me to buy a very expensive cello instead. They gave the impression that they only have time for the customer who buy expensive instruments from them. If they only wish to cater to an upscale clientelle, they can do that, but those with student grade instruments will not be treated well in my experience.
