For a guy who is completely unfamiliar with everything in the store, I have to say thank you to the ladies working there! I needed patches for Carhartt bibs worn thin from sand blasting. Rather than purchasing 20 small patches I was kindly informed of a better method using any shape, size and material of patch I wanted. They saved me time in the store, money and time at home applying cut to fit patches that work great!

Definitely our favorite of craft stores in the area. Its always clean. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. Usually a pretty decent selection of crafting items. The yarn can get picked through pretty fast during sales (and pandemics!) But it remains our favorite!

Hadnt been in the new store until they remodeled. They actually have riding carts which is great for me. The selection there is just unbelievable, its bright and clean. Looking forward to going back.

I have also had several odd interactions with the gentleman who I believe is a manager of some kind. He tends to make rude comments under his breath while checking out, wondering if anyone else has had this experience? Otherwise the customer service tends to be fine, although checking out takes forever .

I appreciate that they have curbside pickup. However, the woman who answered their phone today was very rude. When I said that I was interested in doing curbside pickup she, in a very snappy tone, said well did you get an email saying its ready? I said yes. After she asked for my last name she said yeah, okay. Hold on a second. Then she just hung up. I thought that maybe it was an accident and was attempting to call back when a male employee knocked on my window with my order. I understand that theyre busy but the rudeness was unnecessary.

Pleasantly surprised as the amounts of many different items the the store.

After looking all over for silk thread I found the exact thread I was looking for, and at half the price I was expecting to pay! The staff is always so kind, they listen to my weird ramblings without looking at me like Im crazy (I always get excited walking into a craft store and lose my mind a bit). Great store, great selections, amazing staff.

I personally do love the fabric that Joanns has to offer. However, when it comes to the ladies working there I would rate zero if I could. However there has been one maybe two depending the day that have been okay. The last three times I’ve been there I’ve had terrible customer service. Last weekend there were two females talking for a solid 20 minutes about things they did not like about their other coworkers.. super unprofessional... if you don’t like your coworkers that bad that you have to sit and talk terrible things with customers around you probably shouldn’t work there.... the time before that I had a lady cutting my fabric and was basically refusing any type of help. I told her I wanted my fabric cut straight as its been a continuous problem and she was extremely rude! If I am spending money on your fabric I expect it to be cut the way I’m asking an without the attitude.. She is also the same one whom was talking about the coworkers she doesn’t like. An Today when our family was there we noticed that none of their signs with their current deals were up. When we asked about it the lady we asked acted as if we had some type of disease.. I understand we are in a pandemic but we were definitely 6ft away and if your that uncomfortable again you shouldn’t be working there. Then of course the other lady I had cut my fabric wanted to charge me 50% for the remainder of the fabric that was left that I was purchasing... either she really is that dumb or thought I was because ALL of the remnants were 75% off plus the fabric itself was 60% why would I pay you 50% when not even a week before that we were just given the left overs. The ladies at the Onalaska WI location are extremely unorganized. They do NOT no anything about communication and definitely have serious attitude problems. If you need fabric from Joanns I would definitely be prepared to deal with rude workers...

I always enjoy shopping here but I bought 10 yards of elastic and pretty sure I did not get that amount, when cutting for masks only got about 15 masks out of it at 5 inches as for childrens masks

This store has some of everything crafty and a lot of everything sewing related. The store is laid out in a mostly organized manner. I was lucky enough to be able to take advantage of some good yarn sales. The staff was as friendly as possible for as busy as they were. When they arent busy, you can have long conversations and ask lots of questions about how to accomplish your project. The store is well lit. I wish the clearance stuff was a little more organized.

I think that Joanns in Onalaska is quite small compared to the one in Milwaukee. I wish they would blast through the wall and make it bigger

Went in for the great deals they had. Found what I needed when a friendly employee guided me to it. Ended up waiting about 30 minutes to get fabric cut. I had to return something and their system wouldnt allow my receipt to be scanned leading to a 10 minute ordeal to return $17 worth of product that I paid for in cash. The very rude employee did not inform me that because their system wouldnt scan my receipt I could only get store credit and not the cash back.

Im stopping in about every two weeks and have been for close to a year now and Ive yet to have a bad customer service experience regardless of the time. Staff is friendly, helpful, and patient which is good because the store layout is iffy at best. While I can never find anything right away I will say the variety they have in the amount of sales floor at their disposal is more than adequate for my needs. They boast a very large selection of quilting fabrics and costume fabrics.If I am shopping for fabrics I am picking Joanns over Hobby Lobby any day.

This is one of Joanns smaller stores but has the wide variety of sewing & creating supplies that Joanns is known for. The staff is very friendly & helpful.

Such friendly staff here, always willing to help out and with a smile on their face! They had some really good deals for presidents day this weekend, make sure and download the Joanns app and get the coupons, fabric can be pricy without coupons! Or check out the remnants bin :)

I generally like these stores, but the selection at this store is a bit smaller. Staff are friendly and helpful. I went in for leather pieces for crafting, which they did not have much of, but they did have an amazing sale on beads the day I visited, so I will keep a close eye on their sales from now on.

I love this location! I run a crafting business and they always have what I need! Great staff, some can be slow and distracted on the cutting table. But nothing that would ever turn me away. I use ALL the coupons and love getting a good deal each time I go! We go so much now that my 2yr old says were home! When we park outside.

Very knowledgeable staff and friendly. The lady cutting the fabric that my son needed was asking him questions to get him involved in the process. I was very impressed.

After going to the store in person and not seeing enough of the fabric I need to make a prom dress, I naturally ordered the fabric online! On the site, it said the Onalaska Crossing Meadows location had 11 quantity in stock. I was kinda surprised by this because we had asked if they had anymore and they said no, there was only six yards on a bulk. After ordering the amount I need, seven yards, I waited for an email that said my order was ready to pick up in store. Around 6:50ish, I got that email and text message saying my seven yards was ready to go. But, then came the email it was canceled. Confused, I called the store and found out they had the seven yards but I would have to pay for the seventh yard. Now, keep in mind, I paid $70.83 (coupon was used) for the Super Shine Metallic Navy fabric and that was for the seven yards. I kept telling the employee on the phone this and she kept saying I would need to pay for the seventh yard still. I had the confirmed email of the order right in front of me!! Seven yards!! After getting frustrated with her, I had to ask for the manager. Upon getting the manager on the phone and telling her I paid $70.83, I was told I just needed to pick it up at the store. Relief... NOPE! Getting to the store and walking inside, I told the lady at the front that I was here for a pick up- it was the same lady that told me I needed to pay for the seventh yard. She tried telling us, again, we had to pay for the seventh yard!! I told her we talked to the manager and she said we didnt have to pay again! If you are going to order fabric off JoAnn fabrics website, avoid picking up in store with this location. This was not okay from the start and I will never be going back for anything.

TL;DR: Its okay: pretty busy, with mostly nice but very stressed out employees, and overall needs work on organization and management.Long review:Well, its Joann, so, its pretty basic, and its not a huge Joann. I also found it a bit messy, with the shelves kind of out of order in places, the pattern book table a big jumble, and the clearance items not organized at all.Ill grant you that maybe it was the time or day that I visited, but ive been there a few times now, and it seems to usually be in a small degree of disarray. I know they do get VERY busy at times.Thats another thing: there arent enough people staffing this store. Wait times to get your fabric cut can be 30+ minutes, with a line snaking around the store, making it difficult for other shoppers to get around. And EVERY TIME Ive been there, I have been approached by other shoppers to answer questions - from pricing on trims or patterns, to where stuff can be found, and more! I dont walk around in a blue vest, and Im generally dressed like a slob when I go shopping, so I know they arent mistaking me for Staff; they just CANT FIND any Staff to help them.The people who work here ARE mostly nice and helpful, when you can get a moment of their time, but some of them are pretty clearly stressed out from being so busy.The past two times Ive been here, they still had signs up for a sale that had expired (one was 90% off all Simplicity patterns!) and yet neither time would they honor the sale price. DONT LEAVE THE SALE SIGNS UP ALL OVER THE STORE IF YOURE NOT GOING TO HONOR THE SALE PRICE AFTER THE SALE EXPIRES. This is a sloppy retail mistake and if they were forced to honor the sale prices, the employees would quickly be taught to remove every single one of those signs when a sale ended.Fabrics are more expensive than I expected (and for the midwest, I expect to have MIDWEST prices, not New York or California prices). For example, its difficult to find any quality home decor fabric for under $40/yard - RIDICULOUS. Anyone who doesnt have a problem with their politics can drive a mile down the road to Hobby Lobby and get the exact same fabric for half that or less.Also, like many retailers these days, Joann gets around actually giving you a deal with the 40% off coupon from your phone, by saying that it applies only to REGULAR PRICE ITEMS. Then, youll notice that (like many retailers) they HAVE NO regular prices because they supposedly mark EVERYTHING down (all sale all the time!). Problem is that they mark everything UP before they put it in stores, and then call it a sale item when they charge you the original price it would have been.Finally, it is often not clear what the prices of things are. Theyre either marked incorrectly, shelved incorrectly, or they say one price and then its a totally different price when it rings up. This is PARTICULARLY true of patterns, which can say $35.00 on the envelope and then ring up at $5.99 (great for the customer, sure, but I wouldnt have agonized for so long about which ONE to pick if I knew I could get SIX for the marked price!).This store needs some work, or its not going to last. Some employees still feel a little bitter about the way this JoAnn swooped in on the old Hancock Fabrics that was here, and they had to REAPPLY for their jobs, etc. I just get the feeling that its not well managed.

Have lots of types of yarns, but limited amount in each type, limited types of crochet and knitting needles and hooks. Prices competitive.

Its great but if you are going there for paper, copics and others I could not find any so is more of a sewing store and knitting and painting love the paint selection

It is a great place to shop for yarn and crafts. The only thing was, there were only 2 assistants checking out and there was a long line.

I bought material and a very friendly lady waited on me. I had a lot to have measured and cut so felt sorry for people behind me as they had to wait quite awhile. At the end another lady did join in the cutting process. Most times Im there i wish they could have more people cutting material. Very good experience as usual.
