Great prices, decent selection. In store employees were helpful.Would have been nice if yard workers would have offered to show us where items were ( pointed in a general direction) and help instead of sitting on forklifts and chatting amongst themselves. Had to go find one to get product down.

I like Menards as a chain multi-purpose store in general, but the Onalaska location is by far my fave. Clean and relatively tidy every time I go there and 90% of the time I find what I need.

They have way more than just hardware. I find myself going to Menards 2-3 times per week. The seasonal items are wonderful and even the moderate grocery section has great options and very low prices.

The sales associates were knowledgeable and friendly and the quality of the cabinets met our expectations. What was dissatisfy is the hickory wood grain we received did not match the displays in both Winona and Onalaska showrooms. As you can see in the photos, some of the hickory is pure white which actually looks like pine. Theres no design consistency in this product so I would caution against purchasing their wood grain cabinetry or be sure this is the look you would like to have in your home before purchasing. We would have not have gone this route had the showrooms accurately represented the delivered product.Menards did offer replacement panels but unfortunately, the pattern variations in the replacements include white pieces no different than the originals and they simply look out of place.

Menards has a lot of customer support personnel. Five I think just in tools, and, they seem better trained than at Home Depot. Menards also has more product variety than Home Depot. I found stainless steel oval head screws at Menards. None at HD. True Value has them but at ridiculous prices.

Each item i needed was in stock. An employee stocking the huge bags of dog food was kind enough to put the dog food i needed in my cart. Everyone was super friendly.

Always find what I need and usually someone who can advise me.

They didn’t have the part I needed nor did they even know what it was. Not going to call out the department but it was nice when one could go in with a question and have help to find a solution. Can’t ever find anyone to help, then inexperience or lack of knowledge is what you get most of the time here.

Customer service in the yard is the worst. Asked them to cut straps on landscape boards. Said he had to get cutter. 30 min later he came back. Not the first time Ive had horrid service there.

It was good had an issue with a pricing but they did fix that and then bought some dog shampoo and seemed like most of them were leaking told the check out person and they sent someone back there right away

Store was bright and clean. Wide array of products to select from. Some decent sales on a few items. Items for sale generally competitive in price. Staff was friendly but didnt go out of their way to check-in with me as I perused the store for the items I needed.

I purchased 2 freezers in mid october at the Onalaska store and submitted rebate paperwork. I figured after almost 3 months i should be seeing the rebate so i can spend more money at menards. I went to the website, was not able to talk to a human being. After filling out the proper information it notified me i should be receiving a response in 2 weeks. Wow, that is impressive customer service

Normally I love menards. Ive flipped 4 homes and have gone there each time for my materials. I still love going there but think their prices have risen a lot in the last year or so. The people are very knowledgeable and nice. So, ill continue to go there for just about everything I need. Though Im hoping this is my last house flip 🤓

Its amazing that Menards mask wearing policy is above the Governor of Wisconsin and it doesnt matter if you can not wear mask, no mask no shopping. Last time I go in this store. Customer service has gone down the tubes, obviously more concerned with money than customers.

Checking out through the lumber yard am elderly woman was wearing a face shield instead of a mask which would have been fine if she wasnt eating at the time she walked out and checked our lumber order. She literally had her hand in her mouth walking up to our vehicle. So if your going to force people wear the PPE maybe u should do something about the face shield business.

Very disappointed that because of a disability that does not allow me to wear a mask I was asked to leave the store even after explaining that I cannot wear the mask due to a physical disability. It’s sad that this location is discriminating against disabled individuals while other locations understand and allow them to shop.

I was ran down and verbally assaulted by one of the employees of this store! This was meer seconds after my mask had fallen off my face and I was on my way to my car to grab a new one. I cant believe how they are treating customers. To add to it my mother was in the other side of the store. She was also accosted by a different employee for pulling her mask down long enough to put on some chapstick. My family will not be back to menards. Even after the pandemic is over.

It was enjoyable shopping. There were numerous employees keeping things picked up and clean. Not crowded at all.

Private businesses make their own rules. Not allowing children under 16? So, as a single parent, I would have to pay a babysitter to go buy yard tools. Please take business elsewhere if you have kiddos, theyre not welcome here. Refuse to support any kind of family business that so openly disregards families.

I have been a Menards customer for over 20 years and now disappointed with them I let the mask thing go but not happy. But now I bought a pressure washer from them and didnt even make it a week and is now not working. I took it back there because I wanted one that was not broken already and they told me I had to take it to a repair facility because it has gas in it. This does not get my job done and money lost and time down while I wait for it to get fixed. So if I put gas in it and never would start so would be in same position. So will not recommend you or buy there again. And will advertise for you on how great your service is. So going to buy another one from home depot and get ridof this one

I live in Round Lake Illinois...I live about 10 miles from 3 Menands...my cabin is in Camp Douglas Wisconsin...I have to drive 51 miles to Onalaska to get to a Menands...it takes 3 hours of my time...1 hour to Menands 1 hour back and the about 1 hour in the store...I wish there were 1 closer....well it is what it is..

Today I visited the Menards location at 1301 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, WI 54650.I served my country in the United States Marine Corps from 2003 to 2007. I have been in treatment within the Veterans Affairs system for various phycological health conditions. I have significant issues with restricting airflow or obstructing my ability to breathe. My health is something I do not feel I should have to share because of my rights to privacy. But because of how I was treated at Menards today, I am compelled to explain my conditions.As I was shopping, I was approached and told I had to wear a mask. When I explained I had various health conditions, the employee responded that Menards had no exceptions to their mask policy, and I had to wear a mask. I continued to refuse and explained my conditions yet again. I was told I didnt have any health conditions, which, as you are probably aware, is discriminatory and offensive to anyone who suffers every day with mental and physical difficulties brought about from service to this nation. This disgusting treatment by the Menards staff was my tipping point and the reason for this letter.I was accosted three additional times by various employees whom all parroted the same discriminator language as the first.I am offended and appalled by Menards practices and plan to tell anyone who listens to how I was treated.I will never again spend money at Menards.

Who dosent like Menards?

Will not be shopping at Menards as long as wearing masks is required. Why now? You went weeks without requiring this. This is becoming crazy. More people died last year from influenza than covid-19. Stay home if youre concerned. Thats what shelter in place is for.

I went to the Onalaska Menards to buy products for a remodel. I had the exact item number for the item I needed. I came across Michael in the trim area. Gave him the item number, he walked over and showed me what he said my note said. Surprise! When I returned home, my contractor said it was wrong. I had the number right, Michael sold me the wrong item. I called the store spoke to someone who said they represented customer service She listened and didnt offer any help. When I asked her what they could do....She said she didnt understand, did I just want my complaint validated? WHAT? I work retail in Eau Claire and can assure you that in my experience John Menard would not think his complaint being validated would fly. I then asked to speak with the store manager. When I asked him what could be done his response was he couldnt do anything at his level. He is the STORE MANGER??? The level of service is and was atrocious. After the thousands of dollars I have spent, I will spend the remaining 8- 10 thousand at Home Depot or Gerhards. Dont shop at Menards

Menards system to help avoid the virus seems to work smoothly.

Today, I purchased a new grill from menards. As I began to assemble the pieces from the box, I noticed two pieces of the frame were bent in. It was the bottom of the grill so I decided it would be fine, maybe I could bend it back straight. Got halfway through the assembly and pulled the hood/main grill piece out of the box to notice a huge dent in it as all. Called menards and rearranged to stop where I’m at with assembly, bring the main grill/hood all the way back to Onalaska and swap out with a new one. While waiting, I asked if there’s any way I could be compensated considering other pieces I still have are dented, I had to drive all the way back there, and took time out of my day to go back. Was told I could keep the dented one for a discount other wise they couldn’t compensate me for the inconvenience. As a small business owner, I take pride in making my customers feel valued. I shop at menards multiple times a week. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I’ll continue to give them my business after today.

Store is clean, things are in the right places and orderly, the staff is always pleasant and helpful. Their prices are usually good but their sales are better! Always can find what we need for any project.

I like Menards because it has most everything you need. However Im really tired of them moving things around every time I seem to go there. Im not always a shopper to just go and look to see what I can find. Most times I just need to get it quick and go and knowing where it is makes it easier instead of looking in the last 3 places it was.

Usually a great store, but sometimes difficult to find what youre looking for. Recently the forced wearing if masks strikes me as a over the top measure and the enforcement of said policy reduces a typically good customer experience to an annoying adventure.

We have several recent experiences at your store with bathroom remodeling projects. Both times we dealt with Tim Peterson, who was very concerned with customer care and was very knowledgeable in that department. He took very good care of us!
