The engine arrived quicker than expected and I received a call a couple of months later to make sure it was working for me and another follow up just under a year to make sure it was still working great. Best customer service in the world!

I ordered a rebuilt 2.4L JDM for a Scion TC off of eBay from this company, The motor arrived two weeks earlier than was promised by (George), by the way whom was very knowledgeable and professional. The motor was immaculate you can tell by the appearance that workmanship was excellent. I installed motor and it fired up right away with no leaks or problems. The motor purrs like a kitten. I bought a remanufactured enging from Sharper Edge Engines in Jacksonville, Florida and was emsiling them to get my Bill Of Lading so I couls send my enging core back to them.as explained to me in a previous email. When I get a phone call from Kar King Auto. The man on the phone proceeded to tell me Sharper Edge Engines contacted him to contact me to try and get me to remove the Timing Chain cover & just send that to him. When I said, engine is at my mechanics he said well have him do it then ship it to me & keep the core. When I said No, I was told in an email to send the core back to Sharper Edge, if you want the timing chain cover thats between you & sharper edge. He cursed me out & hung up on me. So now Im still waiting for my Bill of Lading from Sharper Edge. If I dont get it, I guess the motor gets scrapped. EDITED, JULY 1ST. Bring it on sally, youre sure a tough guy behind your keyboard. Im in colorado. I have all the emails I sent to Jorge. I can forward them to you if youd like. It was invoice 23504. Jorge charged me 200 over the price of the engine over the phone saying I was paying for 12 months more of extended warranty. Engine was only 1500, was charged 1700 plus 250 delivery fee. Oil pan arrived dented from poor delivery, and Jorge just said use my old oil pan...didnt pay 1900 bucks to reuse my old parts. Then after I had shop inspect engine, sent details of issues engine had to Jorge who never responded, and when I called at the time, no one would answer.

I needed a motor for my daughters Sonata. George saved me thousands of dollars compared to the other options that were available. He is very knowledgeable and his customer service is excellent. He went above and beyond to get me a the motor as soon as possible. I would highly recommend his services to anyone.

Kar King sold me a rebuilt engine that was not properly rebuilt. It has a engine code of P0022 which is indicative of Timing Chain and/or Camshaft phaser problems. The engine rattles, has less power, and has very poor gas mileage. On a full tank Im only getting 160 miles when my old engine would get atleast 280-300 miles per fill-up. This is due to the Camshaft phaser not being able to adjust the engine timing as needed due to KarKing Auto not correctly reassembling the engine they sold me. in order to fix the mechanic shop needs to replace the camshaft phaser and redo the timing chain alignment which is a very expensive job. Seller asked me to remove the engine which would cost me another $1000 and then ship it back to him which would be an additional $300. Then I would have to pay the same mechanic another $1000 to place a new engine from elsewhere in my truck. The timing chain job is quoted to be a $3500 job at the local Toyota Dealership. I initially only asked for half and the seller still declined to make things right and only offered me returning the engine from Texas back to California. Stay away from these guys unless you like being scammed.

First, I would like to preface this review with a word of advice - If you are contemplating using Kar King for your automotive needs, stop contemplating and DO IT! George was absolutely A-MAZING! I was in need of motor for my 2014 Kia Sorento - after receiving 2 other incorrect motors from 2 other companies - George came through for us. He assured us from the start that he knew exactly what we needed and it would in fact, be the correct motor. To ease my mind, he sent pictures of the motor before it was even finished and shipped so my mechanic could confirm that it was correct. At this point, I had motors shipped from different parts of the country and constantly waiting for motors to arrive only to see that they were incorrect and had to be shipped back across the country before I could get my money back and purchase yet another motor. When I found Kar King, I was waiting for $4,500 in returns from these other companies and George outdid them in professionalism, promptness and pricing, hands down. He knew how in need of a motor I was and had been without a vehicle for 2 months at that point - he worked even harder and had my motor done almost a week before he quoted. You cant go wrong with Kar King, I promise!!!!

I got a rebuilt transmission on my 02 Sequoia. I shopped around and compared prices and George was on the low end, like very low end of the spectrum. He was referred to me by someone who used him so my trust factor going in was high. They did what they said they were going to do and i was happy. THENNN something happened with my Trans and i was so super busy and live out of the area. When i finally went back it was past my Warranty by a few months I forget exactly... I was kind of worried. HOWEVERRRRR they took car of it free of charge or maybe I to pay for a part or something, I forget exactly bc this was over 3 years ago (Sorrryyyy George this review is over due!) My over all experience was excellent.... 2 big thumbs up. I recommend this place 1000%

They sold me a rebuilt 2005 Rav4 Engine. They sent me the bill by email and I paid it with papal. The engine was defective. They are creating lots of stress for me. I have to pay to have the engine removed they came to pickup their engine today but they keep my core. I called and I asked for my core and I was told that they may send me another engine when the find one. Meanwhile my wife is without a car I do not have money to buy another engine until papal finish with their investigation which may take about 30 days. They are very unprofessional they do not returned emails because I was told by a person with the name of George I do not know if that is real name that he does not like people telling him what to do. He know that the engine that he sold me was defective. I do not know what to do this is the first time that I deal with a seller that is very unprofessional. Check with the CA secretary for their corporation and I was not able to find them.

I couldnt be more pleased with George and Kar King! I spun a rod bearing in my 2001 Toyota Camry (4 cyl engine) after accidentally running it out of oil because of a fast leak. Its in great shape, but local shops in the San Jose area told me Id be spending $6,000 or so for a rebuilt engine!After doing a Google search for rebuilt engines for a Camry, I found Kar Kings web site. Their prices seemed quite low, but I thought Id take a chance. George gave me a very good quote on swapping the new engine into the car in their facility. I figured I could have the car transported down to Ontario from the San Jose area, then fly down and drive it back when it was done, for much less than Id pay for a local shop to do it.I described my plan to George, and he told me that quite a few people from distances even greater than mine (about 400 miles) had already done the same thing. He even offered to have me picked up at the curb from Ontario Airport!They did an excellent job, the engine runs great (I have about 1,000 miles on it so far), and I couldnt be more pleased with their work. Even after paying a professional car transporter, buying a one-way Southwest Airlines ticket, and buying food and gas for the 6 hour drive back, Im way ahead. Id go to Kar King again anytime!

My 2008 Kia 2.4 Theta engine with 103K miles seized last spring, so I needed a new engine. I checked around and on eBay, but used engines with over 100K engines were selling for $1800. Since Kia 2.4 engines are known to develop piston slap, I knew I did not want a high mileage used engine, but new engines were nearly $5000. Then I found Kar King Auto which rebuilds engines, has in business since 1988 and charges ½ what a new engine costs. I checked their BBB ratings and they have a B- rating, which is good considering so many things can go wrong when rebuilding an engine. I spoke to Jorge, who is very knowledgeable with my engine model and while he did not have one ready to ship, he said he could rebuild one and ship it in a couple days. I received the new engine in less than a week. The engine came all assembled and cleaned minus the valve cover, but Jorge told me, I would need to reuse my old one; which I did. The new engine sounds and runs like new. The only issue I had was some of the gaskets that Jorge shipped with the engine did not fit, but I blame the gasket manufacturer for that.

I ordered a 2.2L engine for my 1999 S-10 pick-up. I installed the engine myself so I became very well acquainted with this engine.I did not have any issues with the install. The engine was painted and in great condition, ready to assemble. I took particular care, cleaning and painting the components as I installed them. Every tapped hole was clear and in perfect condition.The engine fired right up! I have a 1500 mile break-in period were I will check the fluids often. It runs and performs great. I am very please with this purchase.

The reason I have waited so long to post my review is I wanted to wait and see how things were after the 6 month warranty they give with their work expired. It has now been around 7 or 8 months since I purchased a motor and transmission from Kar King and they are running just fine. I would recommend this company to anybody that wants quality work without the inflated price tag. Before Kar King I was quoted $5900.00 from one shop (that was just for the motor w/warranty) and $3700.00 from another (used motor w/o warranty). Since these prices were way out of my price range, I decided to shop around and found Kar King. Not only did I get a new rebuilt motor (with a warranty) I also picked up a rebuilt transmission. I figured might as well do them both since the tranny had around 140,000 miles on it as well and had to be pulled out with the motor (easiest way to do it). The price for motor and trans was $2750.00!!!! Nobody else could even touch this price! Another nice thing about George and his crew is they stand behind their work. Long story short, there was a slight discrepancy concerning the transmission and it had to be sent back to Kar King. I called George and informed him of this. Kar King paid for all the shipping to and from their shop in California. Not only that but when they took another look at it he informed me of a different, more serious problem with my transmission. At this point he called me to let me know what was going on, that they had fixed it and was sending it back with a trans cooler.....FREE OF CHARGE! So to sum it up I think the guys at Kar King do a great job so dont bother looking anywhere else.A very satisfied customer

Recently the transmission went out in my 1991 Geo Metro. This was the original transmission and lasted through 3 engine changes approx. 500,000+ mi. I drove the vehicle till it did not move and had to be towed home. In searching for a new transmission I found Kar KingAuto through their listing on eBay. The price $800.00 appeared to be an excellent price for a rebuilt transmission. After the order was placed and payment cleared, I received the transmission in about 3 days (Northern Ca.). I felt that this was fast shipping. The transmission was well packaged and protected for transit. I have installed the transmission and it works GREAT !!!!! Up shifting and down shifting is nice and smooth and the vehicle is quieter then Ive ever heard it before. The vehicle runs like a new car. Thank you Kar King Auto. Purchased a transmission for an 84 Toyota truck and George at Kar King was great to deal with and very helpful. They honored their warranty with no hassle and even gave me a break on the re-install in which they also guaranteed their work. Bought a re-manufactured 5 speed manual transmission for my 1988 Toyota Pickup 4x4 from Kar King at a very fair price. George has been very timely and responsive from day one, answering my questions and closing the sale. Shipping from SoCal to NC was surprisingly fast and seamless. Transmission external appearance and a glimpse inside thru various ports re-build appeared clean. Transmission is now installed and with 150 miles on it, all appears to be good, no complaints. Well let me start by saying. These guys are respectable. Not sure how things are in house but.... we sent an engine out to these guys (ruined and hopeless). Mind you this engine is uncommon (3000gt vr4). Theze guys not only got it there fast they built and returned it lightning fast. We installed it and they answered all questions we had (stupid or not). George builds a good engine. Hw did what you would want/ expect from a long block provider or builder. This company did a great job. We will see how she hold up with the boost cranked up soon enough (not fully broke in yet). From there we will know just how reputable they are. I would send them another engine. VERY FAST, GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT, VERY AFFORDABLE.

Ordered a rebuilt transmission from Kar King Auto on Ebay as the price was very good and it is a hard to find transmission (1984 nissan 4x4 5speed) and it arrived as described and as quick as one can expect from California to N.Carolina.The shop installing the transmission for me was having a few problems but after a couple calls to George here at Kar King, the problem was solved and the job finished, the transmission shifts smoothly with no noise or grinding.I would buy again from George and guys here at Kar King and have already recommended them to another Nissan owner in need of a transmission.

I took my smoking rattling 2010 Toyota Highlander with 69,000 miles to my local mechanic to see what the problem was. He diagnosed a complete engine rebuild ($7,000 total cost). It just didnt seem right.I did my research and found Kar King. I called George. We took the car in expecting to need a new engine, George did his tests and found that the car had several problems related to engine sludge) that all created the smoking. The total repair was $1,700. Obviously we are very happy.

After 306,000 miles my Toyota Tacoma 3RZ FE lost Compression. I searched around and nobody came close to the Kar King Price. I spoke with George and he had a Long Block in stock. Purchased a rebuilt 2.4 liter for my old Nissan hardbody a year ago. I had the headgasket blow after a year, but that was my fault - I had a coolant leak that never got caught. When the head came off, it was 1/1000th of an inch and spec allows 3/1000th - they milled it to perfection! The headbolts were all tightened equally and perfectly to spec. Ive yet to adjust the valves after break-in, and am still getting 24 mpg. They do a good job! Beware though, they only offer a six month warranty, but for the price it was worth it. My opinion is they offer good quality for the price! Id buy again.

Couldnt be happier with Kar King, I hydro locked my engine due to a torrential downpour here in Tampa Florida, I searched engine rebuilders on the internet, and found Kar King. Called Jorge and he was straight forward to the point, and gave me a brand new rebuilt for my 08 Scion XB for $110.00 less than my insurance cut me a check for for a used LKQ motor. The price included shipping. They shipped it to Tampa Florida and provided tracking. The engine runs flawlessly. The only thing the shop did after they put it in was put Synthetic in it, instead of break-in oil. The mechanic insisted it would be fine, and this is no fault of Kar King - it was the shop here in Tampa. Awesome folks at Kar King - call Jorge if you need a new engine!

Just called George at kar kings to ask about parts used in there engines and he was vary rude. I asked if they use Japanese parts and he told me nothing is made in Japan anymore, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT he spoke down to me imedietly. i said wait a minute, nothing is made in Japan anymore? I just perchase Japanese made wheel bearing last month. George replied what I meant to say was that Chinese parts are good quality. Well George why didnt you say that then? Thanks for being rude and not knowing that Japan still makes engine parts ir trying to lie to me thinking I wouldnt know. I will not be buying from you. And the Chinese parts are why there engines are so cheap.

Do not ever give this company your business. I recently purchased a transmission that had an incorrect O-ring installed. The transmission fluid leaked out and destroyed my clutch. They would not admit they used the wrong part even though I provided photographic evidence. I would give zero stars if possible.

I purchased a Rebuilt 93-99 Mitsubishi 3000GT V6 3.0L DOHC6G72 Engine in April. I have been driving my 95 3000 GT with this motor for about three weeks and have put about 1000 miles on it already. It runs Great. Overall a great purchase. Motor has lots power and my recent 500 mile roundtrip from Tulsa to Dallas was 25.6 miles a gallon running 75-80 mph.Thanks

I have 1991 Stealth R/T TT that came to me with blown engine....Just figuring out what all that got damaged internally would had ran me in the 500s. Ordered a 4cyl Toyota long block from KK and it arrived undamaged despite some shipping problems. Did a swap, used all new maintenance parts, belts, thermostat, fuel filter, hoses, plugs, wires, gaskets from KK. Fired engine up after 3 revs of the starter motor and it runs like a dream. Runs smooth as can be even without the balancer assembly from Toyota in the oil pan. No leaks, no issues, very clean rebuild.Would not hesitate ordering future engines from Kar King. Great service, excellent quality and prompt delivery. Compared to the price of a pulled engine from a junk yard, its clearly worth the extra few $ for the warranty and a new engine with 0 miles.!!

Bought a transmission for my sons 93 Ford Ranger and shipping was free. We live in Ohio and our local auto parts store wanted $1000 plus for a rebuilt tranny. $700 and 4 shipping days later it was here. The tranny had a bad 5th gear and Kar King replaced it with no hesitation. Very easy company to deal with and friendly staff with constant communication. After looking around at EBAY and CL engines I almost decided to try my hand at rebuilding my Toyota 5vz. Glad I didnt. Called George and discussed the job, price and down time. George didnt hesitate to give me a tour of the shop either. Top notch facility. Dropped the truck off and his driver took me back to my house and picked up a core engine.No charge. Picked up the truck 3 weeks later and it runs like a top. No leaks, no issues, price was right. They even were able to save my Air Conditioning charge. They made note of a couple of issues that needed my attention ie. new radiator and brakes.Thanks George. Good job!

BEST Transmition Motor Shop in SoCal.!!!!!!!!Blew my engine & it was dead!!!! Shopped around to get it rebuilt or get another motor. Everyone quoted me such a high price I was just going to trade it in not running for a new car.But one of the owners George found a low mileage engine local. Great price for the low mileage engine & installation!!!They came to my home & picked it up with there own tow truck. (Didnt have to pay to get it to them) Very proffesional driver. I helped load it up & in a few DAYS later I get the call from George at Kar King Auto to come pick it up.If I could give them more than 5 Stars I would. I would DEFINATLY recommend them to all my friends and family.If you need a Transmition or Motor work besure to give these guys a call. Or you can call someone else and get screwed!!!!

Kar King is the King in my book. Always have what I need and they really stand behind all of there work.

Went in to have my transmission replace on my 99 Sienna. A week later I picked the van. The van still had issue. It only shifted gear at high rpm when the engine is cold. I called them up and they told me to drive awhile. A month later, the issued wasnt clear. They told me to drive vehicle to them for inspection a couple of days. I had to rent a car for several days. I picked up the car a couple of days later. The problem was fixed. But a couple months later, I found out that they fixed the problem by depleting the transmission fluid so it could run hot sooner. I refilled the transmission fluid to a proper level and now the problem reappear. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. THEY ARE DISHONEST.
