Great coffee shop. Love the decor, vibe, and atmosphere. Excellent coffee, and great food options as well. I will most definitely make this a new hangout spot. Im happy to see this classy little coffeeshop doing so well here! I love taking friends here for the food & the industrial chic atmosphere! On really hot and really chilly days, I like sitting inside; but, in mild weather I like having the outdoor dining opportunity, too. The food is really good. Ive never had anything there I didnt like. Its very popular at lunch time, but they handle the crowds efficiently with their order at the counter coffee-shop processes.
Been here a couple times now. Always a little busy on the weekend mornings, but well worth it! Love all the options they have for both food and drink. Will have to come back in the evening sometime to try other menu items.
Excellent spot! Wish I had discovered it sooner. Great layout, there were a lot of people hanging out or working on their laptops. Menu was extensive and had a lot of different delicious options. Coffee was absolutely amazing! I got a caramel latte and I could tell right away that the brew was strong and flavorful. Excellent, honestly one of the best coffees I’ve had here in JAX. Sandwich was delicious, I had the Caprese panini and I got two chocolate donuts to go. Food was great quality and donuts were delicious. I would definitely make this my go to coffee spot if I lived closer. Loved this place! Staff was very friendly and you could tell they are organized and have a great system because everything came out so fast. Also, they have a drive thru, so yeah that’s a thing, amazing. You won’t be disappointed!
I absolutely love this place. Food and drinks are amazing. They have vegan and gluten free food. The atmosphere is very relaxed and staff are always nice.
We tried Urban Bean and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We had a Reuben and a Mediterranean salad along with coffee. Everything was delicious! We will be back.
Ahhhh, so so. The staff is wonderful but a glass of wine will be 2 oz, weird. They should specify that and measure the quantity you get. Food was good but overpriced for what it was. For us, for a coffee spot - absolutely fine. Dinner, not so much.
Great place to get breakfast, brunch, lunch and pastries. Great coffee selection, nice ambience thats more like a cafe youd find downtown of a city. It has indoor/outdoor seating, so plenty of room for dining. They also have a drive-thru, for those on the go! The people are friendly and the line moves pretty quick. I gotta tell you, you cant go wrong with getting one of those breakfast bowls!
So much more than great coffee!! This place is a local gem. I work in Fleming Island nearly every Friday, and always look forward to my stop here on the way. Melissa & her team are excellent! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu - breakfast, lunch, or dinner!! The specialty donuts are always a huge hit for my office (and me) & the mini potato cakes are a delicious side for any meal. Fresh avocado on my veggie burger was awesome - looking forward to trying more lunch/dinner items on future visits.
Update: We returned to this cafe and truly love the ambiance, decor, friendliness of staff, and GF food!! Signage explained long waits due to reduced and new staff… // Drove by this place twice and finally had to stop and check it out because it looks really cool! Best thing is the amount of gluten free options, AWESOME! Atmosphere was 5 stars (inside and outside), customer service 5 stars, coffee frappe 5 stars, only thing lowering this rating was the food wait and food quality. My gluten free waffle with eggs, cheese, and sausage was great combination of sweet and salty but my husband’s power bowl tasted like microwave quality. We had ordered to go (but went inside not the drive thru) and it took at least 30 minutes for 1 coffee and 2 egg based food items.
Nice look, the food was just kinda bland. For a dive Im looking for more of a unique and creative style food choice. Better than Starbucks though.
I love this place. We had my dads 50th birthday party here. And as reliable as Florida is, it rained outside and the staff was able to accommodate us inside the restaurant. Even though they were short staffed, they managed to serve the drive-though, the Café and all 25 of us. It took longer than usual but they served us with a smile and were friendly and apologetic. Only feedback - it was about 65 degrees in the cafe, I had to bring guests jackets from my car. Please find a compromise on the temperature😉
Love this place. Moved to jax from St. Louis in 2009. We looked all over the Southside, beaches and downtown area for a good, cozy Café that reminds us of the places we used to go to in St. Louis. There just isnt any in jax. Or so we thought. We finally found this place when we moved to the Oakleaf area and are so happy we found it. The coffee, pastries and food are always great. The staff is also very friendly. The environment is super cozy and chill. My type of place!

Went inside last weekend for the first time. Had a latte and relaxed by the fire place. The staff is friendly and attentive and the selection is fantastic. Quality of brew is quite exceptional.
First time customer today and Ill definitely be back! I try to shop small and recently decided to stop giving my money to companies like Starbucks, so I gave this gem a try!The location of Urban Bean is a little bit of a tight squeeze to get into, not much parking but they have a drive thru and a covered area with outdoor seating. They offer lunch and breakfast menu in addition to coffee and teas. Loved the industrial decor as well. They put a lot of thought and effort into choosing it. The girl taking my order was very helpful in helping me choose a latte with non dairy milk options and was able to answer my question when it comes to how sweet certain coffees were (most places have no idea and cant even make recommendations). Once my order was up, they handed me my latte without a lid which I LOVED. It allowed me to see the cool design from the steamed milk and the sprinkled cinnamon, and it allowed me to put the lid on myself. This also would ne great if you need to taste your coffee and add extra sweetness or creamer without wrestling the lid off your hot coffee to do so. There was a stand located right near the counter that had everything youd need. Although I didnt need any of it because...The best thing of all...the coffee was actually GOOD! It didnt taste like chemicals, it wasnt burnt. I actually enjoyed the coffee for once and the price is comparable to every other chain. I cant wait to go back and try some more of their menu. Shop small and give this awesome place a try.
My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner for our date here. What a great atmosphere and absolutely delicious food and coffee. Everything was fantastic and we will definitely be back. Next time maybe with the kids as they have the cutest table inside and outside for kids. Along with some books and toys to keep the little ones entertained.
Such an awesome place ! I am so impressed with all their vegan options. The oumph is their meat substitute, and it is AMAZING! the vegan cheese is the best I have had (I legit had to ask the employee to confirm that my food--The Gromet Flatbread--was vegan because it was THAT convincing and THAT delicious)! Their Tropical Harmony smoothie was fantastic. Love the outdoor seating, too! Wish it wasnt on a main road because the traffic can get very noisy, but everything else about this place is more of a positive

What I love most is the consistency to get a great coffee every time. Its always exactly as you expect it to taste. Everyone is always very friendly and accommodating.
This place reminds me of the coffee shops in Minneapolis/St.Paul Mn area. That urban feel of community, come hang out with us we love everyone. And the food is unique and just done right. The Salmon Bagel on an everything bagel is my favorite item. The bagels and donuts made here are incredible. The donuts are thick and fluffy fresh. The flavors are always on point. Never go wrong with their Bacon donut. So so good. The African teas are unique and tastes even better. They do a authentic Macchiato which I love. The omelettes and flatbreads are delish. If you don’t have time to stop in they have a great drive thru and the staff is always friendly and helpful and fun.
Amazing breakfast and great coffee! Been here a couple times now, and it hasnt disappointed. Also, they didnt mind that i sat there on my laptop working for 3 hours, so theyre officially my favorite 🤪
Whenever coming home from out of state work, need to go to Urban Bean,order delicious meal, get a superior customer service, sit down and enjoy the meal in piece, my say is Starbucks will never have what Urban Bean has.
Great place to eat or grab some food on the go! They adhere to Covid protocols strictly which gives me peace of mind. Very friendly, professional and always working to get your food out as quickly as possible.
Ive been to the urban bean probably 20 times the last few months. Ive tried over a dozen things there and I can say without a doubt that it is my favorite coffee/cafe around! I live 40 minutes out and still go out of my way to drop here whenever I can. Due to covid and the difficulties finding workers right now, they can get a little backed up at times, but it is well worth the wait every time. Service is great, and the place looks amazing!
This place is awesome. We are visiting from Atlanta and omg....I am really sad we have to leave. Were a picky family.... gluten free and vegan and just plain old picky..... All of us get something we absolutely love here..... The staff is so amazing and caring about what you order. They make sure the order is right and that your happy.... The food and coffee is just delicious....I wish I could give it more stars
Was just going to stop so the wife could get coffee and was pleasantly surprised they had an extensive menu. Whole family ended up getting food. The kiddos absolutely loved the waffle boats. I should have ordered less because my black bean burrito was solid and delicious. We will definitely be going back so I can try more of the menu. I really want to try some of that cake I saw in the case!
If you happen to find yourself in Orange Park you must stop into the local gathering place: the Urban Bean. The coffee and tea are unique and delicious. Very up to date on the latest bean additions and great with the food choices! The vegan and gluten free donuts are amazing! The decor is urban industrial and has a very cool vibe.
We come to visit family in Jacksonville FL. Now for the last few years. This has been our coffee choice every time. Super chill place to hang out and catch up with friends. The coffee is on point Everytime, whether you get it black, or the sweetest latte. The food is great. And the donuts are the best donuts hands down. We have been here now roughly 5 times and never have been disappointed. So please ignore all 3 star or less reviews. They are subjective opinions that are based off a one time flop. Not the standard the urban clearly holds them selves to. I wish they would move to Greenville SC! Nothing but love for you guys!
The decor and atmosphere is so charming and cozy. The food was great as well as the presentation. My party ordered the southern pecan waffle boat, salted caramel cheesecake, maple bacon donuts, chocolate, and root beer float. Service was awesome. Never felt rushed. Cashier recommended other menu items according to what we like. I left full and satisfied. Well be back for sure.
I always enjoy the food here. The staff isn’t that friendly but are professional. A little loud w a slight echo. They used to give you napkins, cream in ur coffee and a spoon w your grits. I don’t like now it’s all self serve for the above. You have to grab all your utensils, your sugar/creamer, napkins, make your coffee and put on cream cheese. It was more of a personal touch they had over everyone else. Now everyone is grabbing these things w their dirty hands. I think they are going for the dungeon look in the bathroom. The light level was 3/10. I want to know what I’m stepping into . Slight pun intended.

Omg! It was awesome. I was a bit hesitant because the first-time my experience was not the best. Believe me when I tell you it was AMAZING, DELICIOUS AND I will be going back! They dont have Diet Coke, but I had my own in my yeti. We has a vegan strawberry donut that was the best donut I have had in years, my sandwich the one with the apple was finger licking, toast warm and delicious, the bird - which we added has as well, also exquisite! My sandwich came with kettle chips with a parm like flavor and the bird had a big blueberry sugar cinnamon chip! Delicious!!! Great job guys I loved it! Heres some pics!

Great atmosphere, delicious food and baked goods, great drinks. I love tea lattes and they have so many varieties. I got a chai frappe with almond milk. I got a maple bacon donut and I forgot what the omelet was called but it had green chilies and pico and such. The staff was friendly as well with great service.
We are actually fairly new to this place and weve already been there like 7 or 8 times. While a bit pricey, all the food is fresh (the bagels, homemade cream cheese, and donuts are 👌👌👌) and are simply delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for studying, group meetings, or just a relaxing coffee break- clean, not too loud, relaxed. The tea lattes are a GREAT option for tea lovers, though the coffee is well made also. Smoothies also have real fruit lol. So far everything I have tried (not ashamed Ive tried a lot already) has been made with love by the friendly staff/cooks ;)

Usually really good. This time it was just sloppy- the gourmet PBJ with kale chips was just tossed in the box but kale chips on peanut butter tastes YUK says the 7 year that had to eat it.
No matter how busy you are, theyre is absolutely no reason to be rude to a paying customer and raise your voice, when they are trying to tell you about an issue. Rude thats all. I understand the drive through was closed. Last time this was the case I called the restaurant and was told I can still pick up my food at the window. So this time I assumed it would be the same, since it only takes about 30 seconds to charge my card and hand me my food. Apparently instead you get ignored and then yelled at...
Cute spot in OP. Menu has quite a variety of dishes in addition to the extensive coffee, tea and goodies. Cute spot with covered outdoor seating to get together or study etc. Tables have good spacing and masks are worn by staff and required when not seated to eat (Thank you!). Staff is super friendly and was patient to help me through their menu and the food was delicious. Definitely another new favorite.
Ive always loved this place. Even after a couple years living outside of the city, coming back its still a charm. Efficient, clean, great options for tea and coffee, and the donuts are delicious. All fresh baked bagels and donuts.
Its not bad but its definitely not worth the money I would say in comparison to you if you have a better option because the food portions and drink portions are on the smaller side and yeah its very expensive although I will give them that their food is very good I understand the whole waiting thing due to people not wanting to work thats totally fine that doesnt bother me but at least give me my moneys worth is what I asked but other than that very good very tasty so yeah three stars pretty good

I stopped in for a late lunch and couldnt resist the pastries. I ordered the Kona flatbread and it was crispy and flavorful. I also ordered 2 pastries to go the red velvet cupcake and the vegan chocolate and strawberry cupcake that was so chocolatey and moist. Great flavors in both. I also ordered an iced hibiscus tea. They have a large outdoor seating area that would be great on a cooler day.

Coffee is great, smoothies are tasty, and food is delicious. I especially like their soups. I work fairly close by so it’s nice not having to go too far for a good cup of coffee or lunch. Like the atmosphere and decor. Maple bacon donuts taste like syrup drenched pancakes with delicious bacon sprinkled across the top.
We ordered the garden obsession omelette and the veggies were not cooked. The cold brew was just ok, honestly not very smooth.

Great local alternative to large chain coffee shops. Food is good and a little off-beat from the normal muffins etc. They serve lunch stuff as well. My wife always gets the Hot London Fog latte and loves it.

They also have a covered outdoor seating area.And there were a few people here with laptops plugged in if you’re looking for a place to do school/work.

Ive went to Urban Bean for the last four years in the Orange Park/Fleming Island area. They have great food options and it tastes very good. However, if you order anything from the drive thru (which has a terrible speaker), you can expect to wait for 10-25 minutes in the parking lot for it. The coffee cups usually sweat and leak even though they swear that they dont. Which is why I generally call ahead to pick up my drive thru order without having to wait. Even with these drawbacks I have generally enjoyed Urban Bean.I will no longer be spending money here because for the first time in four years I made one mistake in my call ahead order. When I got to the drive thru I informed them I made a mistake in my call ahead order and apologized for switching one item on them. The manager proceeded to lecture me on how they already made my order and they would be out money. I apologized to him and went ahead with the order. At the window the cashier was extremely nice about the whole thing, but the manager felt the need to chime in AGAIN. He proceeded to again lecture me on how his business would be out money (which the item was a $5 power bowl) as if I couldnt comprehend it. I again apologized, but this time informed him Ive been shopping here for 4 years and this was my first honest mistake. The whole thing was horrible customer service for a regular customer that has spent a lot of money at his business.I anticipate living in this area for at least another 2-3 years which should lose his business over a $1,000 just from my family not shopping there alone. I used to also recommend Urban Bean to my friends and family in the area and will not longer be doing that.Update, response to owner:To your first point, Ive attached a photo showing the amount Ive spent at your establishment in the past year. You can see in the photo that I have frequently been to your store during the past month. So I obviously have been to your store and can still say that your drive thru experience is sub par. However, I was willing to look past that until your employee behaved the way that he did today over one honest mistake that I was overly apologetic for. He never, graciously offered a full refund as you are choosing to describe it. He never even gave me a chance to offer to pay for it. He only lectured on how your establishment apparently cant afford one mistake on a $5 menu item from a customer that has spent thousands there. But seeing your lack of empathy and response to this review, it is no longer a surprise as to how he behaved.
So yummy & great service! The food is seriously outstanding. Artisan breads, perfectly curated meats, and the donuts were scrumptious, too.
SLow service may be due to staff or maybe due to the fact this amazing restaurant prepares each order as it is ordered. No food sitting under lamps waiting to be ordered. our family loves Urbean Bean food especially their grits. Sending people automatically to parking spaces without explanation is not good service. Explain why, from what I have been told you cannot order plain grits all are made with cheese. SO why must I wait almost 10 minutes for an order of cheese grits? Nothing else just cheese grits? Like I said great food, service needs some tweaking. ALso this was at 9:15 am grits have been made for at least a couple hours.
I love a local coffee haunt and this is a good one. They have so many flavours to add to your coffee and delicious donuts. Try adding their honey and lavender to you next latte. It’s a personal favourite!

This is a really good local coffee shop. Their coffee beans are locally produced which makes their coffee taste so rich and unique. If you are looking for that small-town feel at a cafe, then this is a great choice! They also have several plant-based milk options if youre trying out plant-based foods too!

We frequent this coffee shop, its not the boldest coffee in town but its tasty. All the treats are amazing and th bagel sandwiches are on point!
I loved it. My coffee was the perfect size and my maple bacon was amazing it was my first time there and I will def be back. I lived in WA state for a while and nothing has compared to the coffee shops there but this place beat them.

I was looking for a vegan friendly restaurant in Jax, and found this place, took a shot in the dark and tried it. I cannot express how impressed I was, this is the exact type of establishment we need more of in our city! Prices are amazing, I got the Caprese Panini with vegan mozzarella and the Triple Chocolate Vegan donut (everyting was $11) and WOW. Absolutely the best vegan food ive had in FL. My non vegan friends loved their meals too and we all agreed to come back soon! Thanks so much to Urban Bean for being awesome!
If there were negative stars they would get it, the food served to me and my family had fuzz on the BLT and after they took it back and remade it, I found twice the amount of fuzz on the second BLT. I found a beard hair in my girlfriends egg wrap. I would absolutely not recommend eating here for any reason. The coffee was okay though.
I am thrilled we found this place, its such a gem! The design and decor are unique and cozy at the same time. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The menu includes all day breakfast with omelettes, waffle bowls and different sandwiches. They also have hamburgers and deli sandwiches. I had an egg and cheese waffle bowl and it was amazing! My husband enjoyed the town hall sandwich and we both got a donut. It was a lot of food. The 20 oz. Expresso drinks have 4 shots in them so be careful. I was so impressed with the way they accomodate for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. I was able to have a GF donut for the first time in years! We will definitely be back!
Unfortunately as much as I want to love this place... their coffee is reallyy gross.... their food is a hit or miss as well.. makes me sad. Weve given them plenty of chances, had them remake drinks just in case... but its consistently sad..

There are three things here that I could live with for the rest of my life.1.Maple Bacon Donut2.Their sprites, I love sangria, bahama mama, and the green lemon one.3.Chai tea latte with white mocha and pumpkin sauce when they have it.Their yogurt cups are delicious, if youre it on the sweeter side ask for extra honey,could use more fruit a little stingy on that but thats ok still delicious!!The waffle boats are absolutely scrumptious =)
Very nice for lunch or brunch and breakfast too. Breakfast is sold all day but the menu options on donuts falls after normal breakfast time. The cheese cake is good and the baresta knows her stuff. Coffee was excellent. I ordered the Americola which is pictured below and has a beer taste a feel to it. Very good A+++
