The time they take to just give you knowledge about what you have is amazing highly recommended!!!
Highly recommend this place. Great service all around by owner Rod. He was honest, fair priced and went above and beyond helping me out with a boat i was unfamiliar with. He spent over and hour at no charge giving me the run down on operating my boat. Service and repair came out perfect, boat runs awesome! Great job!
Rod at R&R Marine did an excellent job fixing my boat. I was concerned because the boat had sat around for many years and had a lot of problems. We are at a point in our lives where we are ready to start enjoying it again but other mechanics had quoted us very high prices. When I took it to Rod he was very thorough in his diagnosis, his price was reasonable and the boat has been running excellent ever since.
Rod has done all the work on my boat, which I bought used. Hes really knowledgeable, always takes to the time to ensure I understand what he is doing and why, and he does quality work at a fair price. Whenever I have a question, he is right there to answer and always happy to help. Recently, I had a throttle adjustment issue, so I brought my boat to Rod for help. He made the adjustment at no charge. I like stuff to work when I am out on the water, and Rod helps me ensure my boat is in tip top shape. He has my business.
Best place to take your boat friendly responsible Rods the man
I called Rod at R&R Marine when I needed a new engine for my boat. He seemed very experienced in the type of engine that I needed and was very helpful over the phone. When he explained that his work was guaranteed I decided to go ahead and hire him and I am so glad I did. My boat runs better now than the day I bought it! I will be recommending Rod at R&R Marine to all my friends!
The service I received at R&R Marine was great! They were very knowledgeable about the type of problem I was having with my boat and provided me with options that made sense. I decided to go ahead with the repairs and my boat runs great now. Their prices were fair and I felt like with their experience and professionalism I will definitely be bringing my boat in for regular maintenance and service when needed.
Took my Searay in to have the boat removed from the trailer to have the trailer painted. Also had regular maintenance while it was there. Rod did an outstanding job. This shop is amazingly honest and does great work. Very reasonable prices. My boat was cleaner than when I brought it in. I definitely recommend this shop and will be back when the need arises. Thanks R & R Marine for your great and honest service.
I blew my motor ( 454 marine power) Rob and the crew at R&R Marine diagnosed that it had grenaded. My fault, over 4,300 rpm for just to long, I was having fun though. Within 3 weeks I had my boat back and is running so smooth, not one leak and perfectly idled. Taking it easy through the break-in period (20hrs.) then an oil change and back to romping. Personal service from a crew that cares and doesnt want your boat back in the shop but on the water where it should be. R&R thanks for everything.
I have been dealing with Rod at R&R Marine since 2002-The year the ANGELS won the World Series. I have nothing but good things to say about Rod, he always takes care of me, he even went to my home to perform an inspection on my boat to make sure all the fluids were topped off and I was ready to go to Mojave on a spur of the moment trip. My boat is a 1997 Maxum-16 years old, Thanks to Rod its still a blast and in great shape.
Great Service, nice people
Please take the time to read this. The web sight looks pretty good, Rod is the only person I ever saw. Be careful when asks you if you would like a diagnosis of the problem. Diagnosing cost me about $100.00 an hour. Also it seems he only takes cash if he works at your location. He finally found my problem. It cost me $1,713.82 and the problem was a bad condenser in the distributor. It gets worse, I only had $500.00 cash with me, so in order to make sure he got paid he went to my boat and took a carburetor off the engine until I came up with the balance. I was living in the desert so when I got home I sent a check for the balance. After he cashed it he said he wanted me to take my comments off this page before he would return my carburetor, so I changed my comments.Guess what, he brings the carb back to the boat and does not install it. I have to hire someone to do that. Now I have to go to small claims to pay for the new guy. Somehow he drained my new $300.00 battery and he replaced it with a $119.00 battery and kept mine. I am new to boating so I do not know if this is typical but I feel I should share my experience.Don Schecter
I was looking for a place to take my small fishing boat. I kinda of knew what the problem was but didnt want to buy unnecessary parts. I called many boat repair shops and they all wanted to charge me an hour minimum for diagnosis. I found Robs shop online, i called and explained to him what the problem was. Rob told me what the problem was over the phone, he even told me where to buy the part. Very Nice man!!! You can tell his jnowledge with boats. Not many people help you for free!!
I recently bought a Lehr outboard. Manual starter wont retract. Called Rod to have it fix. I am very satisfy with the service.
The mechanics as R&R Marine are very knowledgeable. My boat was fixed quickly and for a fair price.
Honest, and no BS.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT/WATER CRAFT HERE!!!I took my small boat there to have in checked out to see if there were any major issues. I specifically wanted to have the compression of the engine checked and then just a general look over. I spoke to Rod on the phone and he assured me that thats what they do as part of the inspection.2 days later, he called me with a laundry list of items that he wanted to do - totaling over $600. I politely declined and went to pick up my boat. When I got there, I learned that he did NOT do any sort of compression test at all. It had been sitting outside under a tree, filled with dirt, and leaves. It had dirty foot prints all over the inside as well as greasy fingerprints. No one took a few seconds to at least wipe it down. And now it had a flat tire on the trailer.Hoses were disconnected from the engine, he lost my trialer lock and when I asked about the lock his response was: Just look around. It was parked over here somewhereReally??? You loose my lock and I have to look around your place to find it? When I expressed my feelings on the way he treated his customers, his response was: Well, you didnt even want any work doneApparently he was upset that I was not spending any more money with him.He wanted $100 in cash for what he had done.So in recap:-He lied to me about what was to be done in the inspection.-He lost my parts and told ME to look for them myself.-Pieces from the engine were left in a cup holder in the boat.-Hoses were left disconnected from the engine.-The boat boat was filthy. (I spent an hour the day before detailing the boat before I dropped it off)-The tire on the trailer was flat.Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!!! All of the boats left there are left outside and unattended at night. Rod is obviously focused on getting your money instead of helping customers.I was absolutely disgusted with the way he does business and will NEVER go back there.Hopefully this review will be helpful and you can find an HONEST mechanic.
This mechanic is at best incompetent or at worst dishonest. I brought my Sea Ray in for Rod to take a look at the Bravo 1 outdrive, which had a slipped prop. Before coming in, Rod said it would cost $150 to tell me what was wrong. The next day Rod called and said he had taken out the starter from the engine, claiming it was broke and didnt work. I told him to stop work and repeated that I had only asked him to look at the outdrive. This was the first red flag. I took off work to drive to Rods shop and found he had taken off the outdrive and told me the paper roller bearings were shot. Rod then said he had done over 3 hours of work and that I now owed him $330. It takes a non-skilled person (such as myself) 20 minutes to remove the outdrive. When I asked why it had taken him so long he hummed and hawed and said the boat had a ton more problems, such as a hole in the exhaust bellows. This hole was an issue of which I was previously aware--since its, well, a freaking hole!--and had brought it to his attention before I dropped off the boat. So basically Rod repeated information that was obvious and that I already knew while giving me little to no informative diagnosis on whether or not my outdrive was ok. Rod then said the entire job to fix my outdrive would cost around $2,300. While inspecting my boat outside Rods office, I overheard him on the phone with Yelp trying to get a previous negative review removed. Now my spidey sense was telling me to get my boat the hell out of there. When I tried to schedule a time to pick my boat up the following day at 4, Rod agreed, so I procured a truck to tow it to another yard. Later that afternoon, Rod informed me he would be leaving early and if I wanted my boat I could wire him the money and hed leave it out front on the sketchy street near his yard. I said that I wanted to talk to him about his price as he did work I didnt authorize and Rod cussed at me and hung. I had to contact my uncle to deal with Rod, who showed up early to pay him and told me I had to eat the loss. When I showed up at Rods yard to get my boat, the outdrive and other pieces of my engine, such as the starter, were scattered haphazardly in the parking lot and in a box. Upon bringing my boat to an honest mechanic who knew what he was doing, I had the entire bellows and outdrive project completed for $800. My mechanic also informed me that Rod had never, in fact, looked at the paper roller bearings (a service which Rod had billed me for), as the unit still had its original seals. As a final slap in the face, I was forced to put my starter back myself and, guess what? it works fine--firing up on the first turn every time.
Great service highly recommended
Took boat in for a heating problem on my mercruiser and had some hoses, cables, altenater, rebuilt carborator and general maintenance to get the boat ready for the ocean. After two trips and $5000 later, I found the vacuum secondary never replaced and disconnected. I also had problems with the I/O trim system. after going out once, the trim doesn;t go up and down. Found one of the lines going to the guage on the dash, was removed, so that doesnt work either. To make matters worse, I left my 4 HP outboard with him and wanted him to hold it for a tuneup. After 60 days I called to have it tuned up and he said he doesnt have my outboard.
My friends boat and trailer were stolen from his lot.
