I have been going to Felix Cafe for over 20 years now and Ive never tasted anything better than this Cuban food! Service is fast, customer service is great and food is amazing! Best Cuban food in California (Orange County).

A very quintessential place right in Orange circle, the food is authentic cuban and feels like homemade. Nothing fancy, very simple, a few tables. I recommend to sit outside, inside is crowded and hot. The restrooms are old and on the dirty side. The food is good, big portions and reasonable prices. I recommend the empanadas criollas and the cuban roasted chicken.

One word to describe the favor, wow! The best Cuban food I’ve ever had to include spending lots of time in South Florida. This is the best.

This place has a lot of good people who served the customer. They make sure you’re satisfied with the food and the service. They have pretty good deal with the food. If you select the meal, it comes with appetizer and dessert. And the price just incredible inexpensive. . . Since the pandemic, they just serve outdoor dining. But do not worry, at night, they set up the table with heater too...

All this time I havent given a review about this placeFirst off you cant go wrong about this place its located in old downtown orange which its very nice to walk around reminds me off the olden days you will find some antique stores I heard that this place is been here for so long probably morethan 30yrs so that tells you that the foods is good the waiters are nice very helpful most of the time you will be waiting for a table but Im telling you its worth it and plus another good thing is the serving is big.

Bland beans, bland rice. Not a fan of Plantains. Ox tail was NOT fall off the bone. Had to Fight for about 3 ounces of meat. Mostly, Fat & Bone. Their music, and the music outside, were both playing at the same time.Terrible... $16.10 Overpaid, for Fat, Bone, and bland food. No tip since, I was robbed!! Ill think twice before returning.Was much better about 6 years ago. I would have been better off going down the street toEl Taco...

Went for a late lunch. Had not been back for a couple of years, so wanted to try it again. Sat outdoors, which was nice, except for the smoke from the cigar shop next door, so we ate our meal quickly and took leftovers home. They give you bread and butter for starters. We ordered the Paella and the Felix Combination. They both had excellent flavor. Lunch portions are big. Service was great.

A favorite for decades between my friends and I. The dishes are tasty, good portions, average prices for a specialty restaurant. They increased their outdoor seating area by taking up the parking spaces that used to be there in front. This has worked in their favor, not only for socially distancing, but also in getting further away from the stench of the cigar place.As always, the servers are kind, attentive, helpful.Felixs has definitely earned its reputation for great food.

This restaurant is the one I like best. I visit plenty of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The team is very attentive and the food they offer is so good. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Best Cuban food outside of Miami. Located in Orange, CA the restaurant is located within a series of other restaurants and shops. The service is great. The food comes out quickly without sacrifice of flavor. A live experience with indoor and outdoor seating.

It is excellent. Especially, affordable considering the Orange circle location.They need new silverware and knives. Perhaps, the college students are stealing them.

We were sure well be having a lot of American food at Disneyland so we wanted to eat something different - Cuban and Spanish. This restaurant has a homey feeling and everyone who works here is friendly. We ordered Felix Combination plate, Paella Valenciana,and Cuban Roast chicken plate. Each plate came with soup or salad and dessert. There were 4 of us and ended up taking home a lot of the food. Devoured the dessert as we always had room for dessert! Tres Leches, rice pudding and vanilla pudding - all tasted homemade and very, very good! Will come again! I forgot to take pictures because we were so hungry!!

Always a phenomenal experience. Going on a Sunday is the best experience, but its usually incredibly busy that day and so its very hard to get an inside seat. I would highly recommend the 29 and the 37 on the menu.

The service is really nice over there but I wasnt exactly thoroughly with the food. We are quite the cuban food connoisseurs and this wasnt the best we had. However if you want to get an idea of what cuban cuisine is this is good intro. The guys working there are pretty awesome.

1 Star meal: not even the manager, after issuing me a full refund, could tell me what this menu item was (no.9). Served warn, not hot. And bland, oh my was it bland.1 Star service: I believe our server was given too many tables to serve. The result being I felt rushed, not heard, and in the end forgotten.1 Star management: I had to come back twice to receive a refund. The first time I asked for a refund, the person in charge said I needed come back to speak with someone else.When I came back the next day to see that person, to my dismay, the servers pointed out that same person I spoke with the other day. They said the guy Im looking for is the one wearing the red shirt, sitting in the circle of men smoking cigars. Yep, it was the same guy from the day before. The same guy who told me I needed to speak to someone else. Well, he walked me back to the restaurant and gave me a refund.I believe, depending on what day you go, what time of day or night you go, who is cooking that day or night, and how busy they are will determine the quality of the meal and level of service you will receive. Hence the wide range of reviewing experiences, all of which I believe true.

Lovely seafood and even better cocktails in a superlative setting with stellar service. We enjoyed our New Years Day dinner and drinks here. Our waitress, and Kevin, really looked after us and we enjoyed his company. This was one of the highlights of our holiday! Worth every penny would definitely go back again and recommend to all of my friends.

The food was good. My son and I both ordered carne con papas and it was delicious. It was different from other Cuban spots presentation wise not flavor. It was a bit more difficult to eat all components as not all items were on the plate. My friend had the filet mignon and she really enjoyed it along with the plantains. Overall would return and try something different.

Very friendly service from the second you open the door made to feel very welcome. Able to choose eight items, veggie sausage, veggie haggis, mushrooms, tomatoes, and perfectly cooked fried eggs. It was outstanding! I had never had veggie haggis like this before. I can’t wait until next weekend as I am looking forward to breakfast already!

We have eaten here since 1998. The food is always wonderful. Had one of their Mojitos for the first time today...WOW! BEST ONE EVER! Met friends there for a late lunch. It was their first time and they loved it, too! There is a reason this place is an institution.

This is the best Cuban restaurant, period. The staff are all wonderful people and the food is always done to perfection. We always order #25, two filet mignon with Cuban rice, tostones (platanos), cream of spinach with hollandaise sauce. Portions are big and you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Paella is also great! Flan or Tres Leche for dessert and the soup of the day is always awesome!!!

I had the Roasted Pork... sadly, very disappointed, this coming from someone that grew up in a Cuban neighborhood and having the best, this was my worst food experience, but the service was great. The restaurant however, is in desperate need of a good deep cleaning, you can smell it when you walk in. I had hoped it would be a new spot in Orange.

Having been to Cuba, the food at Felix is authentically Cuban. The service was super fast. We ate inside, where the atmosphere is nice enough but pretty basic -- you are not in a trendy new place. There are sidewalk tables as well, and since Felix is on the circle, they are pleasant (and were fully occupied). We will be back.

One of the oldest places in the circle and still one of the best. Ill never pass up a chance to get their paella or their empanadas. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the generous portions, with that huge bowl of paella being enough to feed two very hungry people with ease for under $15.

We went tonight. Its my first time back since pandemic hit. OMG. Is it possible that theyve gotten better? The food has always been good. Tonight it was amazing. I got the pierna de puerco. My mom got pork chuletas, my dad got filet mignon with some form of tropical topping and my toddler got arroz con pollo. Servings are huge, we were aware, but it was still surprising.All dishes came with either soup or salad... get the soup. Garbanzo bean soup may not sound as appetizing... Get. The. Soup. I was still working on my soup by end of meal. It had gone cold and still tasted amazing. To me that is the truest test of how good a dish is. Eat it at the wrong temperature. Is it still good? That soup is. Ill be honest. My 4yr old wouldnt even taste her arroz con pollo. Why? Because she was still eating that damn soup and it filled her up. My parents and I each had a few bites of her dish... which incidentally was the largest one [🤦‍♀️lol]. My mom and I agree the arroz con pollo was the best dish on the table and it took my dad near 5 minutes and a few bites to determine he liked his steak dish just a little better. I did not offer to split it into multiple containers for my parents to take home too.If youre still with me, I want to call out their service. We started by sitting outside in pleasant weather. As the sun went down, wind picked up and my 4yr was cold. They moved us inside with no hesitation beyond checking if there was space. They in no way made us feel bad for asking to move indoors. Our food was prompt, our drinks were never empty. The service was more than good, it was kind.There are other OC options for Cuban food, many of them good. That said, THIS place is worth a drive on the 91 @ 5pm on a Friday.

After knowing about Felix for decades, we finally ate there tonight. Being indecisive, I had the Felix combination on the Caribbean menu; my brother had the red snapper. Both were delicious. Also ample, accompanied with soup (red bean) or salad, plantains, and even a dessert.

I kinda want to give this place a bad review so everyone will stay away and it can remain as our favorite local Cuban food! I live that it isnt too busy, and the food comes out quick!

I love this place. I have been going to it since 19 88. The service is excellent, attentive but not intrusive. Quick delivery and your iced tea does not get more than half empty.Pollo Criollo is perfectly seasoned and exquisitely tasting. It is the height of compliment to have that excellence and consistency for that many decades. The first taste brought tears of memory back to my eyes. We used to go for work lunches from TRW to enjoy some fresh air around the Orange traffic circle. About back memories of wonderful times with wonderful people. As I gazed around the patio, that phenomenon and magic still occurs.

Food is amazing, hearty, delicious and worth the drive. Drove an hour and a half for a Tostada Latina, didnt get it because they are not serving breakfast.(change your website please) But we still had a good time. Please reconsider serving breakfast, the Tostada Latina was my favorite and the reason, I loved coming to Orange. Thank you for still being here and surviving the hard times.

It’s a family favorite for many years and take a drive up from South County. Highly recommended for everyone, their menu is diverse, large portions and a great value.

It was an amazing experience, and the food was to die for! After arriving earlier than my reservation, it was a good feeling that the restaurant had seats available upon my arrival. Not to mention, the food was great. I cannot wait to return to this restaurant with my parents, so they can experience the restaurants greatness!

We were met at the entrance by a beautiful smiling hostess who led us to the main restaurant. We were met by George, the manager who introduced us to the seafood menu. I got a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, which complimented the food I ate. We enjoyed the ambiance of the place, the food, and the service. I will surely recommend this restaurant to all of my friends!

Felix Cafe always has some of the best tasting chicken in my opinion. I love this place for beans and rice. They have good appetizers as well. Outdoor seating and a cigar shop if youre into that. They have some killer 3 leches cake. Very tasty!

That Cuban sandwich was SPECTACULAR. I’ve never tasted anything like it. The roasted pork is otherworldly in flavor, with a light peppery /cumin(?) tasty crust. Generous portion, delicious home special salad dressing. Must have!

I ordered food to go.There were only 4 skinny yucca fries fir my order, they looked like McDonalds French Fries and the Levon was tasteless. I actually threw it away. It tasted like it was boiled .The last time I got food to go, the fried pork as super dry.I won’t ever get food to go again. I am very disappointed after going there since 1998.

Coffee and food that were both tasty and inexpensive were available. Its a really nice venue, with a nice, friendly atmosphere. The team has been very helpful and has fulfilled all of my demands. Wi-Fi connections are also very good. Highly recommended!

It has been a while since Ive eaten here. I had the chicken a la orange,my husband the roasted pork. Mine was good but the sauce was cold and coagulated. My husbands was excellent. The beans were also very good. His plate had white rice, mine had yellow, which Im thinking perhaps had saffron. The plantains were really delicious. Mine also had a onion side. Im not really sure what else was in it but it was good with the chicken. The onions were crunchy but not overpowering. The service was good. Forgot, I got a piece of tres leche to go. I wish they whipped there own cream, it has completely melted by the time I got to eat it, otherwise it was very good, albeit very small. Overall it was very good and I would recommend it.

THE FOOD PORTION IS HUGE AND COST LESS THAN 20.00. THE QUALITY OF FOOD BEAT ALL,ALL,ALL THE 5 STAR RESTAURANTS THAT I EXPERIENCE SUCH AS RED-O RESTAURANT.

What a nice restaurant in the area! The poolside common areas are great with chairs and umbrellas for free. Also, the servers are very professional to provide whatever you like from their cafe menu. The place was also very cleaned and organized. A strong recommendation for your wonderful service! What a nice place, guys!

I wish I had remembered to take pictures because the food here was beautiful and delicious. I had never had real Cuban food before, I am Colombian and the food is not that similar. Great place to go get something healthy. They have paella which is also Colombian: yellow rice mixed with some seafood and vegetables. The thing I got was chicken with shrimp with sauce with avocado slices on top and it was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though we got their kind of late they let us hang out and eat while they cleaned up. Very friendly place highly recommended. I added a pic of the cool Latin-looking Starbucks next door.

It has authentic Spanish and Cuban cuisine and an extensive menu. We got the table right in front of the restaurant facing the park. The best table to people watch! We got Caribbean Delight, it had fish, calamari, scallops and shrimp. Also plantains and rice. It came with fish soup and bread pudding for dessert... so good. The plate was scraped clean! Also the coconut shrimp for appetizer, so crispy and fresh. You have to get the sangria, a beautiful deep red with blackberries. The best sangria I have ever had.

Right in the heart of old town orange and close to Chapman university. Its in the round about. Parking might be difficult since its really happening place. The dining space isnt that big but the taste makes up for the space restriction. The ox tail was terrific and so was the flan. The portions were plenty as well.

Went to Feliz tonight to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Our first date was here so this place is special to us. The menu is great, Cuban with Caribbean flavors and enough food for even the hungriest connoisseur. The service was very friendly and very respectful. This place will always be part of our story.

I always have a great time at Felix Cafe. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. They also serve pretty big portions as well so eating there is bound to give you another meal in leftovers. I have been here many times and seem to always get the Felix combination. I love this dish as it mixes chicken, beef, pork, and fish with some rice and bell pepper and onion. It seems to have a mix of everything and is very delicious. I definitely recommend Felix.
