They told me my catalytic converter was fine but I needed to replace my 02 sensors, and quoted me almost $200 per sensor (upstream and downstream) after putting my car on a lift and looking underneath it. I felt uneasy bc I had just changed the sensor that would trigger the P0420 but I did what he said and I had the sensors replaced elsewhere for cheaper, but they ended up being fine (I still have the old sensors in a drawer) and I still need a new converter. These people should have never told me to swap my sensors out. Now I am out money for work I didnt need. Maybe its my fault for trusting the guy, but do not take mechanical advice from anyone at this shop or at any Marcos Muffler.

A quality example of those wonderful old-school muffler shops. The employees here obviously love what they do and it shows in the quality of their work. I have had work done on a newer Toyota and a classic Mercedes so they are not a shop who will discriminate on age/make of the car. Would highly recommend.

1st I called to ask if they had a muffler in stock and he told me he would hold it for me. When i got there that afternoon he had just installed the muffler he was supposed to be holding for me. He quoted me a price for labor to come back the next day to install another muffler. Next day he wouldnt even talk to me, he let another guy give me a quote. Tried to upsell the price and charge way more for the muffler. Walked out, ill never go back there again. Very unprofessional 👎

Although I arrived while she was eating lunch, the lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful -- maybe she got word of Mr. Walls review. My car needed mufflers (previous owner deleted them) and Marco Muffler had new, original factory equipment mufflers on-hand, complete with the stock tips. Took less than an hour to install them. The welds were very nice and the tips were aligned perfectly. All done for a very reasonable price. Thank you Marco Muffler!

The woman behind the counter has a serious attitude problem. Brought my car in for a simple inspection to find some exhaust leaks and got nothing but attitude from the beginning. Sideways looks and a huffy puffy attitude because I interrupted her lunch. The place wasnt even busy, so my business should have been welcomed.Literally got in a verbal argument with her over what parts where on my car. Im an engineer, I dont need to be educated about flanges or how metal works. I was educating YOU on what I wanted. And I got attitude. Ill go somewhere else thanks.

I came in after Id taken my car to a previous shop and had it failed due to what was told to me was a faulty weld on one of my four catalytic converters. I ordered a new cat and took it to a muffler shop to have it replaced and they told me that was unnecessary (that the previous smog guy had failed me bc of a false reason). Brought my predicament to TailPipes and he not only informed me that the muffler shop had been correct. He tested my car, it passed smog, and he recommended that i return that catalytic converter Id bought unnecessarily. I have been worrying for months and in minutes he took care of my issue. Thank you!!!

I had headers installed here on my 2000 f150 and had a leak on the drivers side connection from the y pipe to the header. I asked marco if they could cut the end and weld a new flange and fitting for a better fit. They denied me this service because they did not hear the leak in the park position, and furthermore would not listen to me even though the mechanic that had recently installed a new engine in my truck clearly stated there was a leak in the drivers side. Nice people but lazy and inefficient and fight you more than work with you

Great welder/benders, fantastic timely work with good lookin welds. The only problem with this place is the always unfriendly woman who does the write up for service. I personally have neighbors with the same complaint, they unfortunately chose to leave orangevale for their muffler work. Hopefully the owner changes the reception to someone inviting so local money stays local.

On July 18, 2018 Marco replaced the muffler system on my 1967 Chevelle. The work quality was OK but the price was outrageous. I was charged $198.00 for 2 mufflers which retail for $51.00 each and $90.00 for 2, 12 inch pipe extensions. The total bill was $837.56. When I questioned the price of the mufflers I told the nonsense that they paid retail price for them. Even if that was so, a 100% markup is quite unreasonable. Unless you have a lot of extra disposable income, you may want to use another shop.

Ive tried using Marco several times because they are everywhere and have good ratings. I took my truck there for an exhaust leak. They said they couldnt find it. I went home and looked and there were 3 exhaust bolts missing on each side! I chalked it up to everyone has an off day, no biggie. I bought aftermarket headers and went back to have Marco install them. Left my truck there all day. When I went to pick it up expecting to have a new sweet exhaust I was disappointed to find out they didnt install them. When I asked why I was told they werent CA legal because they didnt have the CARB EO number. I showed them the plate welded to the header that was the size of a jumbo jet with the CARB stamp and EO numbers. I asked how could you miss that?? Ummm Im sorry, I dont know was the response I got. Totally wasted my time.I think back in the day when it was just Marco doing the work they were probably a great shop.

This review/testimony is not related to service done by Marco Muffler, it is however about the lack of integrity in my opinion of the owner Mark Fereira.I purchased a truck from Mr. Fereira in the middle of July, 2015. I use to be a mechanic but have back issues that prevent me from crawling under, and around a vehicle without pain.I asked Mr. Fereira if there was anything wrong mechanically with the truck, and what repairs or service might I have to do to it. He told me there was nothing needing attention, and all I would have to do is put gas in it. That was not true... turns out the timing chain/gears, and guide were shot, so too was the front end. The guide had literally disintegrated with only the bolts that hold it in remaining, the rest is probably in the oil pan. The reason I did not notice this upon first starting the engine up is because it was not just started up I suspect. The tensioner works off of oil pressure, its a simple plunger that pushes towards the chain to take up slack. Once extended, it could mask a sloppy loose chain for one to several hours, but eventually the oil will bleed out of the plunger, and it will recede. That is why the loud rattling sound of a loose chain slapping against the cover is usually heard first thing in the morning when being started after sitting all night. Prior to inspecting the truck, I called Mark and told him I was about 20 minutes away and see him then. I cant prove it, but I suspect he told one of his employees to go out and start up the truck to make sure the plunger was fully extended.I suspected something wrong with the front end upon inspecting the wheels, and during the road test which was only around Orangevale and I was not able to go more than 40 mph. Loose front end parts are more noticeable at freeway speeds. Mark said all it needed was a alignment, and that the front end was in good shape, that too was a lie! After I bought the truck and began to notice these problems, I took the valve cover off and was shocked to see that the chain was so loose and had been for so long that it cut a groove approx. 2 mm to 4 mm deep, and several inches long into the side case/housing. This is evidence of a chronic condition. The truck swayed dramatically side to side while driving on the freeway, so much so that it was difficult to keep it in my lane and I appeared like I was driving while intoxicated. I felt too unsafe to drive the truck on the freeway since.I took the truck to a very reputable repair station for a second opinion, and even though the owner tired to be diplomatic, he told me he found it very hard to believe the prior owner did not know of these conditions. Now for the fun part; Marks response to this new information. First he denied that he knew any of this, then after pressing the issue and asking him to be straight with me, he finally came out and said, Ya, I knew, but you bought a used vehicle, and theres nothing you can do about it. I told him I thought he was a gentleman and I trusted him, his response was, Well that was your mistake. Hes right there, question is, do you want to make a mistake? If thats how he conducts his personal sales dealings, how does he conduct his customer dealings? Can you trust this man?
