I have had the pleasure of going to this store since it opened its doors. The staff are great and are ery knowledgeable and passionate. Prices are competitive, though are a little higher than other stores, however if this is your local store your will likely lose whatever savings you get somewhere else in gas money. If you play miniature tabletops, they have the space for you. If you play card games they usually have tournaments going. Their playerbase seems to be on the smaller side, and from what I can tell pretty friendly and beginner friendly. This is the type of place you go when you want to be a part of a community.
Now as far as conveniently located within Oregon city.. that alone deserves 5 stars. Their selection is mediocre but suited my specific needs. If your like me and only seeking Pokémon cards than this is a great spot that’s close to home.. the only reason I knocked two stars off is that while originally three different series were in stock but, as of lately they haven’t restocked any of their booster packs. Not even the most current 😞
The only place I buy cards and games! The staff is super helpful, pretty much got me started on actually collecting and playing magic. They have helped me pick out some of my now favorite table top games as well.
Nice store with a variety for any who walk through the doors. Only thing was when I was there it was kinda stuffy and I had to go outside for some fresh air. Otherwise it was a great place.
Edit: email sent4 stars because I understand how difficult it is to operate a LGS, and I so badly WANT to like this store. It has a lot going for it: the staff is friendly and the selection is good -- particularly in the board game section. I walk away spending more than I planned every single time. That being said, I was very offended by something I saw in the store today. I hope that the owner can respond to this in a professional manner, although previous responses to criticism have left me worried.I understand the huge supply issues plaguing many games right now. However, its one thing to mark up new release items beyond MSRP citing market pricing. Its another to pretend youre doing it for some altruistic reason. The sign in the attached photos explains that the store is limiting sales to not allow scalpers to inflate prices in an online platform. Awesome. A completely worthwhile thing to do.However, it reads as deeply hypocritical when the sign is on the shelf next to a new release item that has been marked up 270% above MSRP, and is almost $40 above pricing for the same product on TCGPlayer. Really makes you wonder if its the scalpers causing the inflation. And heres the thing: this is a tactic that is going to cost this store business in the long run. They are willing to sacrifice returning customers to make a quick buck in the short term (again, its one thing if it was a slight mark up, but they are consistently above even market value).I spend money every time I walk through the doors of Geeks & Games. I may not get the exact item I want, but Im always happy to support a LGS by picking up something else. But what I saw today is going to ensure that its going to be a while before I go back and browse again. Even more importantly, when supply gets back to normal, Im always going to prefer to shop at stores like Glimpses in Sherwood who refused to participate in scalping. For any customer, habits are easily learned and hard to break. Im happy to speak directly to an owner, and will update/delete my review accordingly.
Ive only been going to this store for a few weeks to play a d&d game and have been impressed since the start. They have a very wide variety of board and ttrpg games (and yeah MTG stuff) at reasonable prices.
I’ve been shopping at Geeks and Games for a couple years now. I got to say this is one of the best stores in the area. It retains that local game store vibe while also having a very large selection. If you are looking for hobby supplies (paints, basing material, etc.) this is the store you want to go to. The staff is super friendly and I always feel welcome. I’m the guy with the pineapple hat and I got to say you guys are awesome. I drive 30 minutes away from where I live to go to this store. Keep up the good work, you guys rock!
Bought a few things from them but most recent Pokémon stuff that is saught after like the pikachu figure box and the ultra premium collection box is being sold for almost triple the price. Wouldnt recommend.
What a great games store. Theres something here for everyone. The staff are excellent. I highly recommend you stop in and check it out.
Excellent selection of games along with an absolutely gigantic collection of miniatures from all sorts of unusual wargames. Definitely worth checking out.
Me and my son where in the store yesterday, we have had terrible luck with the latest pokemon set. 2 vmax in like 75 packs. When one of the employees heard that they gave my son a vmax leafeon from their personal collection. That goes a really long way in my book. She didnt need to do that. Customer service doesnt get any better than that. Along with that. They have a ton of stock in magic and pokemon, tons of games and table top supplies. In store events, DnD camp, and much more. Where other stores are charging alot for product the new product here is almost always retail price. There are some that cost more. But I have never seen some of that product elsewhere. Great local store that cares about its customers
Great, friendly employees. A great selection t games and a Sunday game night where you can try out games! Whats not to love? For any gaming nerds like myself, I would highly recommend.
Owned and operated by veterans who have served our country, Geeks & Gamers serves the community. This place brings people together from all differents walks of life through fun and play. Their selection is top notch and they even have some of the newest games on the market, like Oddassity! They also have events and game nights worth checking out. This place has it all!
I have only positive things to say about Geeks and Games. Female owned and operated, nice and highly knowledgeable staff, space is filled but not cluttered, and probably the best selection of Magic and D&D Ive seen in the Greater Portland area.My only complaint is I wish they had another location closer to me! Truly a must-visit for table top hobbyists.Edit: I noticed a number of reviews complaining about markups here. I did notice a few items were above expected prices, but everything I saw was comparable to markups Ive seen at Guardian Games in Portland.I commend the owners and staff for their patience and professionalism with what seems to be a regular torrent of entitled customers during a pandemic recession.Your job is not easy.
I went there recently and staff was very personable and friendly. I enjoyed the experience, however, some products were near MSRP ($1-5 over) and others were more than DOUBLE (nearly triple) the MSRP, so BUYER BEWARE when perusing the merchandise and making purchasing decisions. You are likely to be paying more than most competitors (online or local) will offer for the same product.I purchased some items due to the availability of the selection but I am more likely to consider making future purchases from online vendors first if I am going to pay more. Especially if they are cheaper than the stores asking price like another reviewer stated.
Friendly staff and great selection. This is our go-to game store!
Prices are meh, but selection is GREAT. Nice people as well.
Good variety, great service, great community. Will game there again.
Markup masters. They typically sell product at more then double msrp. Ripoff artists. They like to weigh packs as well, i am not the only one with PROOF. Buyer beware, most crooked shop in oregon.
Great staff and wonderful atmosphere
I visited for the first time yesterday and had such a great experience that I came on here to share it. Ive spent the past several weeks floating around the different comic/board game/TCG shops in Portland, but this was the best experience for a number of reasons.I did notice the prices were a little higher here than some others - but Im personally going to be paying those. Heres why: Geeks and Games offered me the most human experience. The employee I worked with asked questions that made me feel seen, took me around to show me things that were relevant to me, and didnt push sales on me or try to get me to approach gaming differently than I do.The DnD selection was great! The selection of older Pokemon boosters I was looking for was great as well, and as a new, casual collector, she walked me through some of whats been going on during the pandemic - both at the store and in the TCG scene overall. I know her time is valuable, and that small businesses have had it hard. Those things are well worth a couple extra bucks. Ill be back. Often.
Good service, very friendly and welcoming to people who are new to gaming.
Again, for the second time, I went and bought around $100 in merchandise (mainly pokemon booster packs - vivid voltage) here at this local card shop that seems to be ran by genuine people... but the packs seemed to be completely altered with and resealed. So I got a decent amount of Vivid Voltage packs trying to pull some cards that Im still yet to pull from the set in hopes that I could catch at least one of them. On several of the packs, there was what seemed to be melting of on the pack where the seem would be, where the seems would ultimately be sealed together. Also, another way to tell is the middle of the pack is sealed (with way, WAY too much heat and melted) leaving the outer corners open.I set up an appointment with them to see what was going on, and as they were very polite enough to open some brand new merchandise right in front of my eyes, there was still some real sketchy packs in there as far as them looking resealed. So green Online Code Cards indicate that there will be nothing but a reverse and a non-holo rare (VERY RARE is this not the case) and White Online Code Cards indicate that there will be at LEAST a holographic or better (V, EX, VMax, GX, Full Arts ETC...). Out of about the 12 packs I purchased, not only did I get about 10 green code cards, but one of the 2 white code cards I received (that I was supposed to get a Holographic or better in) --- I got a NON-HOLO RARE!!! The worst part - one of the packs had the entire top part cut off to where you could see the cards and they were exposed. Literally, the whole entire top part of the pack was cut open and I promise, hand to God and as much as I love my mother this is a true story (I have video evidence of each pack placed on my computer desk and opened). So nothing was resolved, nothing was even offered to make up for the inconvenience it caused me, not to mention the money spent, gas money spent to get up there --- all they did was defend themselves as if they could never do any wrong. These owners are great servants of our country allowing us to collect Pokemon cards and sleep well at night knowing were safe and sound.Again, nothing was even OFFERED to be compensated for what evidence I had provided them and I was very cool calm and collected, trying to understand and see their side of the story, which I did, I forced myself to see Eye to Eye with them and just make it it seem like I got shafted back to back trips here spending well over $200.00 - $300.00.I even bought some Shining Fates this same day I came to talk to the owners about this. Now, I am really hesitant to come back to this store, but I really, really like the people that work there and have a lot of respect for the owners as they are trying to make a life for their family and that they served our country at the same time, but if anything like this happens one more time, I will NEVER comeback to this store again.Again, thanks for seeing me La Donna & Adam.Take care,Kyle.P.S. - I have the evidence on my phone if anyone would like to see it, just shoot me an email.
This family own business is a great hang out for people who enjoy playing games. Theyre Miniatures for sale games for sale and lots of community events. There is food you can buy and drink. When I went it was pretty crowded but the owner was kind and did his best to accommodate everybody. They had a kids art session going on in part of the room. They also have a table dedicated to those who enjoy crafting.
I spent $200 there last night and got extremely ripped off. The expensive booster packs I bought were completely tampered with, some of them are even half open still. I recorded as soon as I got home and opened the first pack and I got nothing but GREEN code cards which means there is virtually nothing in that pack. Out of 32 packs, I literally got 4 white code cards, 3 holographics worth completely nothing and an eternatus V card thats like 2.50. The worker was so helpful and kind there, her name was Rachel and I sure hope shes not in on that bull****Never will EVER go there again. Literally woulda rather given my $200 to some random person on the street if knew this was gonna happen.Do NOT GO HERE
Fantastic selection and excellent safety protocols! Friendly knowledgeable staff. Bright clean store with a ton of neat merchandise.
If youre at all interested in table top games or board games you need to come here! The owners are super friendly and will help you however they can! Just come by and check it out
I could get lost here all day! Good selection of miniatures, board, card, tabletop, and deckbuilding games. Add in locally owned by people with great customer service and a ton of games to try before you buy for all ages and its a must go for all gaming.
Good space for games, and family friendly.
Amazing shop with very kind staff. They are well stocked with everything you could hope to find in a gamestore.
Over priced but very nice people. Booster boxes are typically $30 more than there competitors. I support them because they are the closest local shop for me and Im hoping their prices will get better.
Fantastic place. Owners are awesome, eager to help, and quick to enfold you into the world of games.
Excellent game store Very nice family running it made me feel very welcome. They have a great selection and good knowledge about the the games and how to match them up to your group. Was also invited to join several of the gaming groups or clubs they are involved with and or host in a large multiple table gaming space that is open to gamers who need convenient space to host a game or would like to meet other people and play something new or old whatever. So in conclusion I was very impressed with the whole experience and would seriously recommend this store to casual and avid gamers alike.
Nice mom and Pop game shop. Pretty pretentious when first opening the owners are finally realizing they need to play nice with their customers.
I am new to the gaming world, and the employee working at Geeks & Games was so welcoming to me. She took the time to answer all of my questions. They seem to have a great inventory and lots of space for people try out new games. I love that they are family friendly -- what a great find! Also, the purple paint and decor throughout the store made it even more enjoyable.
Good service and a welcoming environment. Lots of space to play and to spread out for social distancing.
Gamers be on alert a fast growing little store with a huge potential. Their greasing their wheels and doing a little bit of everything. Boardgames, card games, d&d and warhammer. Really nice people and great little spot that just bought the building next door to expand! Go check it out.
This is a great place to go when I’m looking for presents for people’s birthdays or for the holidays! The staff and owners are friendly and always willing to answer my questions. There is even a room in the back that can be rented out for birthday parties. I had a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend here for a VERY low price and the decorations and games were a hit with everyone! They are a great addition to our community and I hope they stay around for a long time.
Nice store, only current AD&D. Didnt really feel like the cashier was much interested in us. IDK we werent in there for very long and I know we wont be going back, but its not because they are terrible or anything. They just dont have anything we are interested in. Parking is kinda weird. But thats not the stores fault. The plaza is designed weird, and it wasnt clear which direction youre supposed to pull in.
Great place to buy games or hang out and play. I strongly recommend to anyone interested in board games. Knowledgable polite staff
Awesome board game store. They even have tables so you can play with friends. Super friendly staff and they have military discount.
This place is pretty cool and can get really busy at times. The people that work there are awesome. I would give five stars but they dont have the biggest selection of games and would be nice if it had a Pokémon league.
Store seems presentable but store offers services they seem to never honor. Ive been put off and/or slow played for almost 2 months over them taking a look at my magic cards and/or buying them. If I call about them buying magic cards they agree and tell me.to.come on in and when I come in i am told they are too busy and dont have time. Why tell me to come on in if Im told to leave? The staff is a nightmare for me.
The gentlemen of Mcloughlin Chevrolet made me feel comfortable with my car buying experience. They listened to me and showed me my options with never making me feel pressured to buy in anyway. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a new or used car. Thank you Elliot Dawson, Mike, and Brian in financing! I would do business with this dealership again!
Did a quick look around. Nice staff game crazy! Cool shop, even for an old guy.
Great place. We love Pre-teen DND night!
Great game shop, good selection of board games, lots of magic (new and old for singles), lots and lots of miniature war gaming. It is a great store. Raesonable area to play.
This is an awesome place to disconnect from the internet. Free board games that the entire family can play to figurine rile play games for the strategic minded. Magic the gathering and Pokemon card games are playing the tables here as well. Dungeon and dragons dungeon masters are waiting for you to play.
Fun and friendly environment. Great place for games of all kinds
Friendly owner! Love the hours they are open. Only been here a few times but has always been a friendly group of people working.
The owner Adam loves games and is constantly interest in what folks are playing so he can stock it, they have a wide range of board games, warhammer and Dungeons and dragons product with tons of table space and friendly folks!
Great game store. Huge selection of flames of war and team yankee, even more so than guardian games and there is actual parking available
Good atmosphere. Open tables. Okay selection.
Friendly and bright with an expanding stock, game tables and snacks.
Super friendly owners and huge inventory. They do DND just for kids once a week which is awesome! Very community centric game shop.
La Donna and Adam are incredible, definitely my favorite game shop in town!
Was great fun and met alot of nice people, family friendly

This is a great family friendly store. They have an amazing collection of board games as well as a strong community of gammers. If you are looking to learn how to play magic the gathering or other RPGs this is the place to come.
Nice place, good selection. Love seeing games getting played at the tables, has hosted games of some kind or another pretty much every night. Owner is very friendly!
Really nice people, great atmosphere, very tidy and roomy. Ive been in a ton of card shops and this one is really comfortable, really excellent. Plus they carry Gundam models!
Community haven. Go. Spend money. Support local game culture.
I dont get to game very much unfortunately, I mainly collect mtg cards. Every time I pop in to buy a pack the owners chat with me and are incredibly kind. Store is clean and had a lot of lighting, good atmosphere, Im a huge fan of them and they are my go to place
Always friendly service. And if youre old enough you can enjoy a cider or a beer while you play your favorite card or board game.
Great events and amazing friendly staff
Fun place to shop. Huge selection
Recently went in to get some paints and got help immediately. Was also invited ba cl to hangout. Great place! Very friendly and welcoming! Owner and staff have great knowledge of alot of popular games!
Super helpful staff. We are always looking for games to play with our 5 and 7 year old and always get great recommendations .
Cozy and fun. Had a great time at MTG WotS prerelease.
Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen. I came in to return an unopened game with the receipt. They refused to refund my money. No return policy on the receipt or posted in the store. When I asked for an explanation, the owner literally verbally confronted me, called me a bully, raised her voice and began arguing with me. I support local businesses, that’s why I went there in the first place, but come on do the right thing. No excuse for how I was treated. Don’t buy anything from this place. I’m horrified, no exaggeration whatsoever.
Santa and Vader were great. The kids loved it.
Great selection of games and miniatures available! Spacious area to paint or play.
I like this small business. Lots of games to look at, many expansions and add ons for gamers!
Great place to hang out and indulge your inner nerd.

Fun place, nice staff!
First time coming here and the place seems very neat to play games. Very friendly environment I give the staff a plus for being very helpful teaching people how to play new games.
Great place to hang out and meet other gamers.
Great place to hangout with friends and play magic.
Great fun for the whole family!!
So cool! Great location and people
A spacious family-friendly gaming store with snacks, supplies, books, collectibles, and more.
Has a SPOOKY BATHROOM GARGOYLE.
Friendly staff; the store needs a wider selection of games and other items, though.
Great friendly, family friendly, and nice folks
Love this place
Great selection.
