I highly recommend Hagood Brothers. Very honest and hard working. They did an outstanding job getting my boat up to peak performance. I was a new boat owner and worried that I bought a lemon. With a little patience and a LOT of help from Michael my boat now runs like a dream. I will continue using them going froward and recommend them to anyone in need of good, honest work. Five stars is not enough!

Took it there to get water pump checked and to address an overheating problem. Dropped it off and did not hear from him for a week and then when did hear from him he said he would be gone for another two weeks. When I first called it was never mentioned he would be holding the boat for three weeks. Once I finally heard back from him he said they checked compression was good and motor had overheating problem. Waited another week then called him and he said he could not give me a time when he would actually be able to look at the boat. After he had the boat for 5 weeks I finally told him I could come and get it. When I picked the boat up the spark plugs were loose with no wires on them and the cover was not properly put back on the motor. When I took the boat to Mullis Marine (highly recommend) they informed me someone had unhooked the throttle cables An employee of Hagood told me the mechanic didnt even work on the boat in comparison to what the owner tried to tell me he had done to my boat. I was even told a boat that came in line after mine was being put before work on my boat. Mullis Marine was able to repair issues in less than two hours compared to five weeks of no work and stuff undone.

These guys are fantastic. Highly recommended. Very trustworthy. Got my boat from a large paperweight to back on the water in no time. I will be back!

Awesome boat shop. Very upfront and honest about the work they are doing/what your boat needs done. They turned my almost doomed boat back into an absolute BEAST of a boat. There wasnt a time while they were servicing my boat that I thought I wonder what is going on. They would call almost the same time I would call for updates. Then the mechanics would go into depth of who, what, and why certain issues arose and how to avoid them going forward. Wish I could give these guys more than 5 stars.

I have been struggling to find a FSM for my mercury 115 for a few days when I called Hagood brothers. I was ready to spend 1000$ plus on a part. However once I started talking with Hagood instead of just blowing me off and saying he didn’t have the part. Like the 20 other places I had already called, he wanted to know my issues. Then he looked up some service bulletins and found that they had a float switch problem with my model engine. And he just happened to have the float switch! $115 for the new float switch and I’m back up and running. This place will be my 1st call from here on out with issues I might have. It’s hard to find a place anymore where the person on the other end actually wants to help fix the problem and not just sell you parts you don’t need!Great place to deal with!!!

I dropped off my Mercury 3.5 outboard that had a few issues. They were able to diagnose and repair this motor quickly and at a fair price. This motor runs flawlessly now and I would highly recommend them

Had a serious fuel delivery issue that Mike and his staff helped me with. Not only did they run down the problem, Mike had an immense amount of knowledge that he shared with me regarding my Mercury engine. Im a long time Orlando resident. Owned a number of boats. For a big town, not a lot of reliable marine mechanics! Do your self a favor, call Hagood before you experiment with someone else! He will shoot you straight. Ill be taking my boats to Mike going forward.

Excellent experience, I brought my boat in with an electrical issue and Mike Diagnosed the boat and solved my problem. Boat is now running strong and better then ever. I have never left a review for anything, good or bad. My recent experience with Hagood Brothers Marine has compelled me to do so. I have been around boats and owned boats for most of my life which with that brings the inevitable marine mechanic experience. I can do the majority of my own service and many repairs, but when I had to have the lower end of my out drive resealed I knew It was beyond my capability. My old mechanic was backed up at least 3 weeks as usual and with my anniversary trip looming I starting hunting for someone else. That is when I came across other reviews for Hagood and they sounded impressive. Well that turned out to be the best experience that I have ever had with any mechanic, not only did Mike take me in immediately, He started working on it as soon as I dropped it off and called me within an hour to tell me the diagnosis. The easy thing to do would have just told me that it needed to be replaced. $$$$$. Instead he walked me through some other options that saved me a considerable amount of money. Mike kept me informed through the entire repair process and got me back up and running in time for my trip. For that I highly recommend him and his crew for any of your marine needs. I was having a problem with my mercruser motor and was in a time crunch. They talked me thru possible issues and were able to diagnose a bad spark plug. I was able to change it and get back on the water.I will be scheduling my maintenance here fro. Now on.Thanks!

Could not be happier with the quality of work and the level of services received at Hagood Brothers Marine. I purchased a boat with a 2005 Mercury outboard that had ZERO maintenance records. Michael took a look at the engine and called me with all the necessary repairs very quickly. He has also been very helpful giving me tips for keeping the engine in tip-top shape as it is now. Im a very satisfied customer.

Michael is one of the most knowledgeable boat mechanics I have ever met. He wont just tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door, but he will give you straight talk about what he believes is the problem with your boat. Hes also extremely knowledgeable about which propeller will help your boat perform at its best. You will have to be patient when you call, as he keeps overhead down by not having a phone receptionist. Hes always been good about returning phone calls promptly. If you want to just get your boat working again theres many places you can go, but if you want it performing at its best, then I suggest Hagood Brothers Marine.

Capsized my sailboat and brand new Yamaha outboard Sunday night. Called at 7 oclock in the morning on Monday to see how quick they could get the motor pickled. Michael return my call at 7:15 an hour 15 minutes before they opened! Excellent customer service, Thanks Michael!

Not just a good experience, a great one. I have used Hagood Brothers twice now and have no reservations about recommending them or giving them repeat business.I own a Gheenoe not a large boat, and I needed the drain plug sleeve replaced. I called most places in town and they said that they either do not do this or it simply could not be done, or they didnt know what I was talking about. Hagood Brothers knew exactly what I needed and had my boat repaired in one day ( YMMV based on time of year and demand) Also of note were the little touches they do to go out of their way with awesome customer service. Like the fact that might boat trailer was already hooked up to my truck and the lights plugged in when I returned from paying inside.The second time I went in to have a used outboard motor I purchased inspected, tuned and repaired. The motor did not shift into neutral or reverse.Not only does the motor now start on the first pull every time, but it shifts like a dream. This is the first outboard motor I have ever owned, and Austin and Michael went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable in operating my equipment. They also inspected my trailer, and boat for safety equipment and even offered to put a coupler pin in my boat trailer. I use a small lock and it was actually in my pocket, but it was very refreshing to see people who take pride in their work and pay attention to detail and show genuine concern for their customer.

Exact what you should expect from a true blue experienced mechanic. No fluff or frills and plenty of grease under the nails. This isnt Walmart Marine. These guys are master Marine mechanics. True grit. 10 stars if I could. Thank you guys.

Dont hesitate. Dont be scared. I went here and was blown away! I am sick of businesses that forget the simple principles of being human...honesty and kindness. I found both here. I was in a tight situation, while on the water on Sunday when the engine on my boat began dying and would not run at idle. I was lucky to get off the water and get my boat home. I called Tracker Marine, and they would not be able to even look at the motor for 3 weeks. They did recommend for me to contact Mike at Hagood Brothers Marine. When I called them in desperation to find out what was wrong with my engine, even though he was busy and couldn’t work on my boat for at least week, he offered to walk me through some diagnostics. He took the time to talk me through what was occurring, evaluating pictures I sent to him immediately and stayed on the phone until we came to certain conclusions. With each step during troubleshooting, he took my calls and worked with me until we found the problem. With a task at hand, I had to purchase a part and replace it. He called me back after work hours to find out how it worked out. His attention to my desperation to find an answer, and to save as much money as possible, exemplifies the type of service that brings loyalty and trust to his customers. When I do have a problem that I cannot solve, I will not hesitate to bring my boat in for service to Hagood Brothers.

Hagood brothers Marine replaced my fuel pump through Mercury warranty and they did a good job in a timely manner for my family vacation.

After calling around multiple other places, many of which did not even answer, spoke with Michael from Hagood Brothers who helped point me in the right direction with my Mercury outboard over the phone. Competent with a helpful attitude, will bring my boat here from now on.

Never owned a boat in my life but Im glad I do now. Had a problem with a idle issue and some other stuff great people great price. And I dont know why other people say they have no communication every time I call or come by they stop what they are doing to attend my needs. I will be using Hagood for now on.

These guys did a great job with my motor. Took it in very late on a Friday and they had it fixed Tuesday. Took the boat out this morning and it ran just as it did before it messed up. We took our 1976 Boston Whaler to Michael for repair and restoration. He spent time to detail out the must have repairs for safety reasons, the needed repairs for optimal performance, and the nice to have repairs for asthetics. We talked in length about the boat and how it had been 20 years since she ran in the water. We agreed upon the repairs and I handed her over. In less than 2 weeks Michael had her ready to go. We put her in the water and she ran like she never missed a day!!! We cannot express our gratitude for the work that Michael did on our boat. She is vintage and looks amazing!! Service might be exceptional, but they dont answer their phone.Its no longer 1940s, communication is a must have for me.Ive passed on them the last few issues Ive had with my boatbecause they never picked up (or replied to email).

2020: Impossible to find marine mechanics like him anymore. He was able to take apart my entire verado trim assembly & motor to repair stuck brushes, clean out corrosion and reseal it properly. Any other mechanic would have suggested replacing everything. Not just a parts changer but a real mechanic.2018:Guy took the the time to explain something to me in great detail on a saturday over the phone. Did not even buy anything, but offered to help me troubleshoot my issues. Will be going there for business.

I picked up an older SeaRay (2000) that had been sitting for several years. These guys serviced it and did the necessary repairs and the boat is running like new. I am very pleased! The guys are honest and helpful, and really know how to take care of the Mercruisers.

Called in for a Mercruiser carb gasket set and had a chat with Michael. He made sure all the parts were correct before handing them over and told me the pitfalls to look out for when rebuilding. Honest, friendly staff. I originally thought my fuel pump was bad but after talking with the staff and having the owner personally help me diagnose the issue we saved money from replacing parts that werent even bad and found the actual part that needed replacing.

Michael and his team are true professionals that display the values which sets them apart from all the rest. Teamwork, Respect, Integrity and Compassion is in everything they do. My only regret is not posting this review sooner. I made the biggest mistake of entrusting a friend with my boat for a couple of years. My boat went from great to not knowing if it would catch fire or even start ever again. My wiring was rigged to a mess, thermostat pulled out to keep it running, left out in rain so seats deteriorated etc... I can go on about having a boat that didnt run but wont. Michael and his team took the time to identify the issues and ensure I would never be stranded on the water! They never took short cuts when it came to fixing a problem, they repaired per factory precision and would not settle for just ok. They worked with me on prioritizing what needed to be done in order to get me back on the water. I can tell you i have never felt more comfortable entrusting anyone with mechanical/technical issues than these guys. I must say after having my boat sit/not run for 2 years Michael and his team made my summer boating experience a joy again. I know when my baot goes in the water it will run and i am not going to get stranded. Talk about true Pros, you wont find a better team than Hagood Brothers to deliver great results! I do NOT understand the existence of this business. Nobody ever answers the phone, the owner and employees do not care if the customer is in the store, not to mention how rude they are, and their store is just one huge mess. It is amazing that they still have a business. What kind of owner answers in rude sarcasm when a customer asks a question regarding the business? This was by far the worst experience ever and I will never be returning back here. Do yourself a favor and pick a different place to go to.

Had a small Mercury outboard with a malfunctioning gear shift.After spending $ 488 at Boatune and 3 weeks wasted, the shift still did not work properly and they thought it was in the lower gearbox.Very expensive operation.Anyway, took it out and was referred to Hagood Marine.Inspected the shop and stores and it showed very organized. After explaining the problem and the experience at Boatune, I Left the motor out for the owner to inspect.Was called the next day with the wonderful news it not being caused by the lower unit.Was quoted a price and went with it.Visiting a few times, found Michael, the owner, to be very professional and capable. Will return for other service.

Called this shop I heard about from a couple friends,( to which I never mentioned the friends to him) just to see if the boat I was buying was such a good deal. Wow, he talked to me for like 30 minutes of his time describing carb versus injection motors, explaining things that were new to me and I am a mechanic of old school and new to the computer injection technologies of today. The boat i want has twin mercs 90s carburetated, less technology but has only 105 hours on them at less than 1/3 of new price. Mike explained all the different scenarios between the two, carb being very dependable and inexpensive etc. So when I buy, he gets my buisness of course, helped me before he ever earned a single dime.

Terrible place everything so dirty and massy, the owner was so rude when I asked if he would fix my boat he said: what do you think? They never answer the phone, when I get in the place was nobody there I have to wait 10 minutes until they get there, worse experience ever.

Great place to pick up a fathers day gift and the staff are always very helpful and knowledgable. The actual mechanic work is also amazing as I have no 2nd thoughts about having my family out on the water after Michael has looked our boat over. Michael is also very good at asking questions and giving tips to new boaters. If you want service and expertise above and beyond the internet or a big box store then Hagood Brothers Marine is a great place for you.

Hagood Brothers is the only marine mechanic shop that I will ever bring my boat to from now on!!! I recently had my Mercruiser outdrive inspected and tested by another local Orlando marine shop, who told me the drive was sealed and water ready. The first time I took my boat out I found water in the gear oil. I called the local marine shop and informed them of the water intrusion and they stated that they were not sure where the water was coming in from and that the entire drive would have to be pulled apart and resealed which would cost over 1000$. I hung up the phone, got on Google and found Hagood Brothers. I called them and spoke to Michael, and he advised me to bring it by and we could sit down and brainstorm on where the problem was located. I did so the next day, and after an hour or so of good conversation, Michael narrowed down the issue to a possible lower end seal. Long story short, Michael and his staff fixed my outdrive problem and walked me through the entire process, at a fraction of the cost the other guys wanted to charge me. He was up front, honest, and extremely knowledgeable. He also sat down with me and answered several other engine questions that I had. My only regret is that I didnt find his shop sooner. Michael and his staffs knowledge, unmatched customer service, honesty, and professionalism, are attributes that unfortunately hard to find in the world today. I called Hagood Brothers Marine after a Google search for Mercury Dealers I have known of Haywood for sometime but for good reasons have not yet needed there services. Til now I am looking at a boat out of town and wanted some info on the optimax motors so I called must hoping by chance they were open. Day no surprise but 2 minutes later I have a incoming call not knowing the # I answer it and Amazingly enough a man by the name Micheal Hawood was on the line after about a 20 minutes my questions were answered and alot more good insight to take with while looking for a boat.Thanks

GOOD SHOP, KNOWLEDGEABLE TECHS, GOOD COMMUNICATIONI recently had a nightmare experience at Boat Tune. In fact, it’s worth a read so you understand how Hagood came through for me. If you Google Boat Tune and read the reviews you should find it under the same username.Long story short, after three weeks Boat Tune could not get my power trim & tilt (PTT) system to work so I took the boat to Hagood Marine. Within two business days I get a call from Hagood that I am missing the “memory piston.” Can you believe it; a so called certified tech at Boat Tune forgot to reinstall a sand-dollar sized piece of steal in my PTT. Luckily I had the leftover parts in my garage. I the memory piston to Hagood and within an hour Michael called me with the good news. IT’S WORKING! Amazing what can happen when you have someone working on your boat who knows what they are doing. I will also add that the Hagood’s communication was night and day to Boat Tune. Maybe I’m a little overboard with my “pride and joy”, but I asked Brandon and Michael at Hagood to please keep me posted on the progress and they did just that. After all, this was no ordinary fix because they were cleaning up another shop’s mess by ruling out one thing at a time. I’m happy I found a good mechanic. My only reservation with Hagood is that it’s not in the best part of town. However, they have a high fence that remains locked and when I picked up my boat it was all there. I will be returning to Hagood in the future. AND PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM BOAT TUNE, THEY ARE CROOKS.

Apologies to Michael for the delay in posting this review - Anyone reading this now, dont hesitate to bring your business to the Hagood Brothers Marine shop! My first experience was a couple of years ago, when they fixed a misfiring Merc 75 outboard for me - great, quick service. That boats been upgraded to my first I/O, which I had issues with hard starting - either cold or hot. After working with two other reputable shops in town to get my 2006 Tahoe Mercruiser v6 I/O working properly - I found the right combination of experience, patience, and customer service right here. Im a do-it-yourselfer first, pay-the-expert second kind of guy and always have my quizzes ready to be sure the troubleshooting angles my mechanics are using arent a wild goose chase that would simply ring up their cash register on labor time. Michael quickly became a trusted advisor and did an excellent job clearing up my hard-start issues. My TurnKeyStart merc system was more like a turn key (go get lunch) start system. Michael systematically tested the system, isolated a few distinct problems, and got me back on the water with a purring motor in just a few days, with multiple phone calls and endless patience with my need to understand each next step and strategize together.
