My first time back in 3 months. A donut is $4 now. As if $3 wasn’t already overpriced. I understand that the inflation is high, but 30% increase is unjustified. Also the donut was subpar this time.
Opened proximate to University of Central Florida in 2017, Valkyrie Doughnuts comes from Celine Duvoisin of Valhalla Bakery, her commitment to Orlando’s Vegan community well-known and the space itself minimalist with clever artwork including Unicorns and Knights.Selling from 7am on weekdays, an hour later Saturday or Sunday, it was during winter break that the Bakery was found sparsely populated, the lone male server more concerned with chatting up two friends than making a sale just prior to ten o’clock.Frying all items on-site, and delivering daily to Duvoisin’s flagship, it was after a few moment’s indecision that four fried treats were ordered, the Apple Fritter enjoyable with lots of Fruit beneath simple Sugar Glaze while Cookie Butter featured no filling and a mostly-dull crumb without a lot of intrinsic taste.Moving next to Orland Cream, a riff on the Boston version that falters thanks to an odd aftertaste from the Chocolate Frosting, Caramelized Banana thankfully fared better, though its flavor again relied entirely on the bruleed top as opposed to anything noteworthy about the Dough itself.
Donuts are good. It was my first visit today 6/4/2021 at 5:03 p.m., and the girl at the counter was really nice and polite. She took under consideration that I was my first visit and recommended the French toast donut. Excellent choice, she wasnt wrong. We got some other ones and they were just as good. The donuts are big so I cant eat the entire thing on one sitting. The donut is nice, flaky, soft and I bought mines in the after noon. It doesnt leave you with a heavy donut feeling that you need to digest for a few days. The Vanilla icing is generously applied but could use a few extra shakes of sprinkles. Blueberry was packed with flavor in every bite which my wife enjoyed. Im surprised that they dont have another location in Orlando like Waterford.
Their donuts are amazing!!! You should definitely try them for they are crazy good… I can’t put it into words, check them out!!
It wasnt worth my time or money 3 dollars a doughnut. The quality dense. Will never go again. Better quality at giant eagles and they are 1 dollar apiece. So 5 thumbs down.
My go-to donut place, especially for dairy-free options. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and always helpful. Highly recommend their apple fritters, or checking out any hybrid cheesecake flavors. Their doughnuts don’t taste like other places so don’t expect Dunkin/Donut King style here. Highly recommend checking it out and giving them your dollars. Donuts are priced on point with their ingredients and flavor profiles.
Whether you are vegan or not, you will love these donuts. They are huge and fluffy and they come in all sorts of unique flavors. I feel like a lot of times with donuts, there are big promises when it comes to flavor but then it just falls flat. Not the case with Valkyrie. Yesterday, for example, I got the strawberry passionfruit. Both flavors - strawberry and passionfruit - boldly shined through for one delicious fruity treat. My husband got the Orlando cream yesterday. Boston cream is his favorite, and he is highly critical when trying a new place. But he strongly approved! Would recommend this place to anyone.
Omg vegan donuts. I got a salad at chop5 and my boyfriend wanted a donut I went in not thinking I would get anything. Then the very nice lady there told me it was all vegan so of course I got the guava cream donut🥰
My daughter has an egg and dairy allergy in this place has the absolute best vegan donuts. I even find myself preferring them over non-vegan!
Ok, Im a vendor to this place, but my review is based on my experience, not that Im a vendor. I have never heard of this place. (I clean grease traps) when I was done, he asked if I wanted a donut, and I said, I wont say no (I was hoping he woukd offer.I tell you what, these are the best donuts in the state of Florida. Heavy, tasty, and square🔲.Thank you sir for your generosity.
Some of the best vegan doughnuts i have had to this day, not one spot had ever come close to the consistency of their treats- i live in colorado now and nothing here comes close to the unique doughnuts they would make. Not to mention how fresh they always tasted and how many different designs and creations daily they came up with!
Good doughnuts but go early in the morning for the best
A beautiful display case, a light and airy storefront, the friendliest staff, and the donuts are second to none! Do your taste buds a favor and head over as soon as possible!!
Very tasty doughnuts and all vegan! My favorites of those that Ive tried were the Churro and Strawberry Shortcake. I also liked the Oreo and BlackBerry Filled. The least favorite of mine was the Pumpkin Spice. All the doughnuts were fresh and flavorful. They were also quite large, which was quite nice. I am not a fan of vegan products usually, but I gave it a shot and I cant tell the difference. Very good spot, I would give it another try.
This is the best doughnut shop we’ve been able to find so far in the Orlando metro area. If you’re on the fence about vegan doughnuts, there’s no real discernible difference; they just taste like really good doughnuts. They’re also extremely filling, and there are a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The times we went, the staff were always very friendly, as well.
Truly enjoy visiting and getting their delicious, ingeniously flavored, unique vegan donuts.
The very best donuts in Orlando.
They need to switch all of their donuts to cronuts. Truthfully, their donuts are awful. I’ve given them so many chances and every single donut I’ve had from them has been barely edible. There’s plenty of vegan donut options around Orlando, and this ranks dead last. The cronuts are the only saving grace about this place. Only the cronuts and atmosphere get 5 stars. The donuts get 0. Also this place is not vegan-owned. The owner just profits off of us.
Good donuts! However, we purchased a variety of donuts-about 2 dozen I believe-was $49😳. I know they have soy something or other and some other special donuts but for your basic donut, I just can’t spend that much money on donuts again.
Great flavors with reasonable prices and a wonderful selection! there are constantly new and interesting flavors being put out (my favs are strawberry passionfruit, apple fritter, and caramelized banana). the employees are always super nice and the doughnuts are so good! definitely recommend trying out this place!
Best donuts! So glad to have vegan donuts so close to home.
I just moved to the area and I already LOVE VALKYRIE DOUGHNUTS!! its great and I love that everything is vegan.
One of the best doughnut shops in Orlando. Gigantic, delicious, and beautiful are the words used to describe Valkyrie Doughnuts. The shop is appealing and the doughnuts are presented fabulously in the shop. I would recommend the original glazed or the smores doughnut. The least appetizing doughnut was the churro doughnut. The doughnuts are price higher than what one would consider normal-at $3 for a single doughnut- but they are worth it. The doughnuts are larger than the traditional doughnuts with a single doughnut feeding two people. The shop does not have any indoor seating but there a small bench outside of the storefront. If you want an amazing doughnut then look no further than Valkyrie Doughnuts.
Im the type of person that will go out of their way to try fresh donuts whenever they can, and I can safely say that these are the best donuts Ive had, and it isnt even close. Theyre large, the topping selection is top-notch with both mainstay items and rotating varieties to keep it interesting, and the base is perfectly soft and moist. We have at least 3-4 top rated donut spots in South Florida yet I always find myself driving out of the way to stop at Valkyrie whenever Im near Orlando to bring something home for everyone and they never disappoint.
Melt in your mouth goodness!
DELICIOUS DOUGHNUTS!!! Best I have ever tasted. Friendly, FRESH...everyone I have tried amazing. Love the Cronuts ♡
The best donuts in the country, possibly the galaxy. RUN here right now - you won’t regret it!! Some of my favorites are strawberry passionfruit, anything pumpkin/seasonal, carrot cake, birthday cake, and Oreo filled.
I would go to Valkyrie every morning if it was on my way to work. Easily my favorite doughnut place!Their flavors are incredible & delicious. Their doughnuts are huge, fluffy, & square!I especially enjoy their cookies n cream doughnut & their chocolate iced doughnut. While they dont advertise it, all of their items are vegan.
Ive been sampling the amazing vegan donut selection here for years, and am never disappointed. If youre looking for some cruelty-free confectionery, I highly recommend Valkyrie donuts.Masks and distancing are required, so I didnt feel uncomfortable here at all.
THE best donuts!
Honestly not that exciting, over priced and very dull place.
Amazing doughnuts!!
This is the best donut shop weve ever been too. Amazing customer service too.
Donuts were fantastic. My vote for best donuts in the Orlando area!
They are so delicious there vegan they taste like no sugar and if theyre so good. theyre so huge
These were so delicious. Got a dozen specialty donuts to share and they were a huge hit!Only vegan ones Ive had so far, but I wouldnt have known the difference from non vegan donuts!Definitely was worth it!
This place smells fantastic and the people who work there are super nice go grab so doughnuts when youre in the neighborhood
Get there as often as possible, love it! unfortunately our visit last week was cut very short due to the 5 guys ahead of us who probably bought out the store! We decided to go to other store first, 10 min. later note on door said closed due to restocking! too upset to wait!
The donuts we bought here were a bit on the stale side and the novelty factor wears off after a couple of bites.
Unfortunately I purchased a dozen before trying just 1! The taste was stale or possibly day old and no flavor. Threw them out and that was very hard to do for me. Way overpriced product here.
Their doughnuts were delicious 🤤
Ce my last review of Valkyrie Donuts, Ive visited the shop multiple times, and the donuts have gone back to their normal size. The quality, fluffiness, and taste of the donuts are as good as ever, and the price is still the same, but theyre still my favorite donuts, and I have tried many donut shops. We have plenty of unique donut shops in South Florida, and Valkyrie ranks at the top.Ive tried a variety of their donuts. The Orlando cream is your typical Boston cream a la Valkyrie, you get the fluffiness of a Valkyrie donut, with the creamy center and chocolate frost. The Hazelnut sprinkle was the latest one I tried, and I loved it. Unfortunately they didnt have more Hazelnut sprinkles before leaving Orlando. UFO is good, its a cinnamon donut, kind of like Publixs cinnamon fry, or Dunkin Donuts coffee roll. The one thing I gotta mention about the UFO, is that it losses the perfect fluffiness because of how theyre made, but as long as its one of their regular donut shape, its going to have that perfect fluffiness I love.As always, they switch flavors every day, with some flavors being available every day, like the glaze, UFO, and I think the apple fritter. Speaking of apple fritter, thats another flavor I tried recently. It was good and fluffy with nice apple flavor and apple chunks, but not as fluffy as the regular. Ive been saying fluffy a lot, BUT THEY ARE PERFECTLY FLUFFY!!!In conclusion, theyre worth it in my opinion. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Vegan donuts! These donuts are huge and delicious. Cant even tell they are vegan!
It’s a really good place if you’re looking for some small-business oriented donuts. Plus, they’re vegan! The people who work there are really friendly and they have a nice mix of classic flavors and a few that I’ve personally never heard of. They also have a really cute donut pin, which I totally bought. The donuts are pretty cheap too, so I’d recommend giving it a go!
I went on Sunday around 10:30 am about 3 weeks ago. They had about 4 flavors. The guy behind the counter said a baker would be in about 12:30 to comeback . As if !!! TBC
This small donut shop is AMAZING! The gentleman who helped recommended the strawberry passion fruit and it was probably the best donut that I’ve ever had. The donut nugs are perfect for kids— and adults! We were so impressed! Help small businesses and eat more donuts!
Great donuts and service!
For vegan these donuts are at the top of my list! And Im not a vegan. Spendy but worth it!
These are the best donuts Ive ever eaten. And theyre vegan.
Some of the best donuts you will ever have. Vegan or not.Try the Brookie if you want a taste of heaven.
Great cleanliness and service! Amazing presentation on all ends really, each bite is the best part.
Wow! This place is amazing. The soft serve is absolutely delicious, and the donuts are great. Really friendly people there, too. Definitely worth a trip or two or a hundred.
The staff was exceptionally rude this morning.Orange County Executive Order 2020-23: Section 3a Exemptions: Nothing herein shall require the wearing of face coverings by the following people...ii. Persons for whom face covers would cause impairment due to an existing health condition.
The best donuts in the US ! I drive from Sarasota(2 hours) about once a month just to get a dozen of these beauties. The flavors are fun and they are always super fresh !! If you are in Orlando make it a point to go here.
Got the pumpkin smores donut, churro and glaze and they were sooo delish! Recommended!!!!
Fantastic donuts, could not tell they are vegan. Good selection of different flavors and types of donuts. Good seating, lots of parking, usually not too busy either. Along with donuts, coffee is available too but did not try as there was non made. A little pricier than your usual donut but the large portion makes up for it. Highly recommend for a quick snack, and usually not too busy
MENU: 4 stars. For a vegan experience, Valkyrie Doughnuts delivers the goods. I sampled 4 donuts, in order of deliciousness: glazed, chocolate fritter, s’mores, and churro. I’m not a vegan by any stretch, but I can appreciate what Valkyrie is trying to accomplish here. As such, I tempered expectations and lowered my taste demands accordingly and found most of the donuts to be pretty appetizing (churro being the only exception; it was just nasty). On the normal day-to-day, I would not eat vegan donuts — the donuts are pretty expensive and the taste doesn’t match the price — but can totally understand the appeal for the health-conscious.MOOD: 4 stars. The UCF area is one of my favorites. Valkyrie is situated in what looks like a fairly new plaza of about 15 or so stores. It’s tiny inside with limited seating, but it appears as if Valkyrie is supposed to be a get-it-and-go eatery for the frenetic college student who can’t afford to waste a minute as opposed to a sit-down restaurant for those with ample time on their hands. I can dig it.STAFF: 5 stars. The staff seemed very nice. I can’t imagine what I would do if new customers came into my store and took 15 minutes to survey the menu while I just sit there waiting for them to JUST PICK SOMETHING ALREADY. But the cashier was very kind, patient, and informative. He informed us on how to save money buying the donuts. Kudos all around.TL; DR VERDICT: 4 stars. I probably won’t be back because I have no stake or interest in eating vegan, but the appeal lies in being health-conscious, the cool vibe, and an awesome staff.
Who does not love doughnuts - let alone vegan doughnuts in a simple space, giving an imaginative feel with its fantastical unicorn murals?Aside from the doughnuts, an array of beverages and frozen treats are served as well. Speaking of frozen treats, discovering the doughnut ice cream sandwiches was the spotlight that stole the show.Pastries are light and fluffy, as they try to take me home like they are DiMaggio.
Amazing vegan doughnuts. The flavors rotate weekly so be sure to check their Instagram for the menu. My favorites are the french toast and churro doughnuts.
If I could give them negative stars, I would. Dont waste your time. They dont have a phone number, and they dont follow up with their emails! My husband placed an order for a BFD for my brothers birthday. He only eats vegan products and we were planning on surprising him with this donut for his birthday. Its EXTREMELY disappointing when you follow their process in order to place an order for a BFD and you drive all the way over there, (because you cant call them) and hear a worker say they DIDNT receive your order. My husband has emails to verify that his order was received and it shouldve been placed. My husband was also given instructions on when to come in and pick up our order. I kindly spoke to the person in the front and asked them if I could speak to the person who handles the correspondences and emails to see if there was some miscommunication on my behalf, however that person wasnt in. All in all, I left VERY upset and disappointed because this was our first time trying to do business with them, however I guess our business wasnt wanted...
I live three hours away and come to Orlando to visit family and I make sure to stop in and get at least a dozen donuts. The glazed ones freeze very well in individual zip lock bags. No vegan bakery in my neighborhood so I plan accordingly to get my fix. The lemongrass basil is to die for. Love love love this place
Excellent donut spot. One of my favorites in Orlando!
Square puffs of creative vegan deliciousness. Chef Celine has done it again and this time with a whole slew of donut-y options for y’all. Try every single one. You know you want to.
Opened late on Monday morning. The doughnuts were at least a day old. Counter person was dismal.
Been holding off on this review for about 6 months now, but I still think about it. The previous reviews are right. The employee sits in the back. Makes it look like store is closed. Id hate to be the owner. Now, the disappointing part. The donuts are bad. They look good, but I think due to the lack of using butter or milk, you really cant have a good frosting. This may be okay for strict vegans, but not for someone looking for a good donut. If I were them (and wanted to stay strict vegan) i would do lemon frosting which is just powdered sugar and lemon or lime. My guess is maybe they use a vegetable shortening which makes for a really bland tasting frosting.
Generous size and great flavors!!!
I tried this place a second time, and had a great experience. the shop is small, but does accommodate a few bar height seating.the donuts are drool worthy, have outrageous names and are delicious. Staff was friendly and helped us choose a few to try. I like the addition of tables and seats out front .the kids sat down and ate them right away
Visitor to OrlandoAlways looking to try donuts in a city that I visit. The reviews gave high praise but I was a little disappointed. The donuts, though texturally appealing, lacked flavor. They rely heavily on the sweetness of the equally heavy frostings to provide diversity. Using the same dough for donuts is no crime but without the frosting the donut is flavorless.
Friendly staff and very clean store. Excellent selection with classic and unique flavors. Delicious doughnuts!
