We were so excited to find out that the park we were camping at had a cute store! The family who runs it are wonderful and the dog is super sweet. We enjoyed a few hours out on the river in one of the rental canoes, ate some boiled peanuts and drank a couple local drafts. Highly recommend checking them out when you’re at Tomoka! Best place to see the sunset.
Thoroughly enjoyed our boat tour of Tomoka with Captain Scott Corn. The scenery is beautiful! Capt Scotts knowledge of the area is outstanding and so interesting. Loved seeing the momma and baby dolphin up close. Highly recommend the tour.
One of the best set up and managed shops Ive seen within a Florida State Park (and we have been to numerous). The boat and kayak rental is convenient, affordable, and well organized. The snack bar has a few basics that are great if youre in a pinch for a quick bite and even serves a couple truly local beers on tap! The store is nicely stocked with basic camping goods of all sorts, state park merchandise, and a handful of grab-and-go foods. On our 2-hour kayak voyage in the surrounding waters, we saw dolphin, manatee, little blue heron, pelican, terns, robins, great egret, snowy egret, black vulture, and cormorant. Manatee didnt photograph very well but that and the dolphin were a real thrill to see up close 😯! PS If you are a state park passport holder, this is where they stamp at this park!
Love this place the kayak are reasonably to rent and the scenery is beautiful and very peaceful. Visited the outpost they have a lot of cool things and love the peanuts and beer. They also have burgers and corn dogs and ice cream
A charming young lady kept the fire pit replenished as we relaxed in the rockers on an unusually cool day outside of Ormond Beach
Camped here. Love the outpost! Very friendly guy was working there. There isn’t much you’ll need that they don’t have.
Great expirianxe, stuff super nice .
The owners were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Excellent customer service! They had a good turn around time sanitizing the canoe and gear (COVID protocol) between rentals. It was very busy, but they called us when a vessel was available and managed to help us get our little one to experience his first canoe ride. It was such a fun and easy experience. Not only is this one of the only areas near Jacksonville that offers canoe rentals (rather than just kayaks) and it was very fairly priced. The Outpost has you covered for all of your needs and snacks as well. The area is beautiful. It is highly recommended and a perfect destination whether for a getaway, day trip, afternoon adventure, spring break vacation, family outing, or weekend excursion. Thank you Tomoka Outpost, we will definitely be back to fish next time!
Rented a canoe, enjoyed every moment of it.Everyone was so helpful we sure be back.
Came in from out of town to kayak and this was a great place to rent! Quick and kind service. Gave us a call to bring us in to miss the rain coming (which was perfect timing)! A lot of fun snack and drink options in the shop as well.
Tamoka Outpost is a great camp store at a great campground. For an outpost store, they have an extensive selection of camping, fishing, and cooking supplies. They also have local honey and other goods, plus souvenirs from the park. If you buy firewood, theyll deliver to your site.Additionally, you can rent bicycles, kayaks, and canoes or take a guided fishing or sunset tour.
This whole operation is dialed. Friendly service, wide offering of products and services. First class operation. Thanks for the great day.
Easy to navigate. Helpful staff. The store has anything you need. I had a great time on my big solo adventure!
Wow! If you are anywhere near Tomoka State Park, stop here for friendly 5-Star service! Tomoka Outpost had everything we needed for an impromptu kayak outing on the Tomoka Basin! Plus, the owner has his own line of performance apparel Tournament Pirate. I purchased a cool safety-orange long-sleeved fishing shirt that looked great and provided sun protection! When you shop at T.O., remember to ask the owner about the significances of the Tournament Pirate logo!
It is a very equipped outpost for cping and fishing supplies and is a great place to sit and relax watching the wildlife and the water ways of Tomoka basin. The staff is very nice and was a lot if help while we were there.
Took a kayak out on the river with my husband and it was so much fun. First time kayaking and it was a great experience.
Theres so much to do here! We only came for the day and went kayaking down the river. We saw a manatee and the employee that helped us was very friendly. Even though we are tourists, and at other local places we would be treated as outcasts, this place was very inviting. We also bought some local honey after the employee let is try all the different kinds they sold! A day well spent
Excellent service and nice equipment. We will be back!
Visited briefly while camping at the park. Seems to be a pretty nice small camp store with kayak rentals available.
Very helpful staff. Hidden gem of a state park. Looks like you can rent different types of boats and bikes.
Awesome place on the river. Everything you need to enjoy a day on the river. Food, snacks, cold beer, kayak rentals and friendly staff
Great general store for camping, fishing supplies and camping food. Management very professional and polite. Very scenic and relaxing view of the Tomoka River. Kayak and canoe rentals.
Good sized state park with plenty of room for everyone from rentals to camping!!! Day trips for picnicking and fishing or just plain Ole family time!
What a cool store.Geared to campers.A little bit of everything.Boiled peanuts to salt water taffy.Try it, youll like it.
Quaint, well kept, little store with probably anything you might need plus more.
Nice campground, great staff, clean facilities. Outpost closed 2 of 3 days there.
Beautiful peaceful friendly staff we will go back
Ruined our last day of the Florida vacation down from Ohio due to thunder...could have just told me when I called that day...or the day before that this was a possibility. Sitting while the sky is bright and nice unable to canoe because of a storm front that missed the place just like I knew it would was awesome. Prices high and just overall unsatisfied with the curt little notes like under the byob sign (just like basically every business everywhere yada yada). Unnessecary. Woman there an Im in charge deal with it type even when being friendly. Beautiful place and looked awesome. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Didnt work out for us. 🤷♂️
One of if not the nicest State park stores I have ever been to in my life. Beer on tap on the waterfront with the sounds of nature. I would like whoever decorated the place to come and decorate my yard. Like the sign says, a little bit of everything. 2 thumbs up!
This is really a nice place
Great variety, very expensive, and the clerk, not pleasant at all!
Beautiful location and friendly staff.
Very peaceful, close to Beautiful beaches, about 10 minute car ride! Campground has good showers, very clean!Really Beautiful campground and park! THEY have a fun store for souvenirs too!
A beautiful state park...
Great place. The store was very impressive for a camp store. It had way more than a typical camp store, mainly by way of good fresh food, and wine and beer. They had musical instruments available for use, checkers, and a nice covered front porch area. The park is beautiful and paths are fairly well kept.
Cool little store. Management is very personable. We rented kayaks for a bit. Upon returning, we purchased a couple of beers and bought some fresh boiled cajun peanuts. Set out on the deck and enjoyed before returning to camp.
Great hospitality service and information by the staff. Im looking forward to return.
Very friendly, lots of interesting products for sale. We bought three bottles of local honey, so delicious! We intend to return to rent a canoe and paddle around the park next visit.
Make sure to check for closings very disappointed outpost closed
Nice store and beautiful views
Tomoka outpost is set in one of the most beautiful parks in the country. Great views and amenities. Love the rental options! Camp store feels like you’re visiting family. Sitting in the rockers watching the sunset was a wonderful experience. Thank you.
Very nice store in Tomoka State Park! Snacks, ice cream or fruit bars in freezer. Had some food for microwave. Tables and board games to play! Can rent canoes and kayaks! Also, you can take tour on a pontoon boat for a fee. Good time there!
Great place to get supplies and rent canoes.
Stop in if your down for biketoberfest. 2 bucks to get in great place to kick back enjoy the water front with an ice cold beer or soda or whatever you want. First time for us. Give it a try!👍
Wonderful place to camp. Three different bathroom and shower stations. The Outpost is a nice place to hangout and supplies. Some of the people who work at the Outpost are nicer than others, but whatever. Great, safe place to take the family.
Great place. Very friendly.
Love the knick knacks, souvenirs and the view! A great little place to hangout and play some old school games too! Very friendly people and staff, I always love going back.
The view of the river is amazing and the place is clean and organized. Very well done!
Nice place but the lady behind the counter was not very nice . I came in with my kids to get some ice cream after fishing on the boat all day . I asked if they took credit card because I didnt have cash on me and I didnt see the credit emblem on the door and the lady looked at me like I was a criminal . She asked for my ID to verify who I was and she was still rude . Needs to say I wont be sending money there anymore .......
Visited there for the first time in August of 18, very friendly, have pretty much everything you need if you forget anything for camping. Going back many more times in the future. Awesome place!!!!
Great little store. Nothing overpriced and a cute little place to browse. Friendly store keeper. You can purchase bait and snacks as well as rent canoes and kayaks.
Interesting store. Well stocked. Slightly pricey., except some cooked items.
It doesnt get any better than a day at the outpost. Friendly people, cold beer, and wonderful staff. My wife and I love to take our son and the dogs to the outpost just to hang out in the rocking chairs and have a cold beer.
Highly recommended. Friendly staff, fun place, great view (we saw a dolphin!) Super comfy rocking chairs. Best camp store Ive ever been to.
The store is super clean employees are super nice and friendly they have a lot of things there you wouldnt think they would have as far as camping supplies go and fishing supplies. They have a draft beer there a little pricey a little pricey more so than most places for a 16 ounce glass $6 to be exact but it was good it was really good not sure if it was worth the six bucks but it was worth a try
Went for sunset Wednesday. Beautiful concession was closed. Lot of nice people there for the viewing. Enjoyed it and got a great photo.
Fantastic, friendly, family outpost and store! Best boiled peanuts this side of the east coast!
This little gem is one of the best things about living in Ormond Beach. Its at the boat launch inside Tomoka State Park (wonderful state park, but thats a whole other review). Its a camp store but a lot more. A very friendly family staff runs it. In addition to camp supplies, fishing gear and snacks, you can get beer and wine, including one beer on tap. Its not really a restaurant but you can get a few hot things to eat and there are tables to eat them inside the air conditioned building (if its hot) or outside. Outside is what makes the place special -- its right on the water at the park boat launch. You can rent canoes or kayaks, launch your own boat, or do what I do often -- grab a beer and kill the afternoon sitting on the patio by the dock watching the beauties of nature in the Tomoka River and Basin, watching the people and boats come and go, reading a book, enjoying the sunshine, and just generally living the good life. Highly recommend this place.
Cool place to stop and cool off during a.l day of fishing. Nice little camp store if you forgot something and craft beers.
Family friendly feel. Nice people
Great campground. General store was well stocked. Kyacking and guided tour of waterways very reasonable. Restrooms were clean with Hot water.
Very cool place to enjoy the outdoors. Kayaking is a must and the service is great.
So nice here, grab a beer and a snack, sit outside and watch the boats go by
Kayak rental, easy, fast and fun. Staff friendly and informative. Outpost sweet place to hang for awhile..
Cute shop, awesome staff and easy launch spot cant ask for much more.
Tour de Tomoka, great time, thanks Scott and the Orlando and Ormond Beach Model A clubs!
A beautiful wilderness area, but it seems to me that the Monument built there is somewhat of a mockery and not really honoring the people. This is where the British slaughtered the tribe here into extinction... I personally thing the government should have been taking better care of this place with the taxpayers dollars.
Great little park store could use some more variety in the food department. Friendly staff makes it a good place to just hang out and enjoy the day.
Absolutely the best kayaking, boating, canoeing any water sport. Fishing.. Bbq camping little nature walks. $5.00 per vehicle. They do rent canoes and kayaks.
Stocked full of whatever you may need The Couple who own and run the place are Friendly, Helpful and Informative on The Local Area and Fishing Spots
Clean and welcoming. Has a nice variety of items in its store. Canoe and kayak rentals are available.
Quite and clean sites are paved and level good fishinf
Nice place with nice people. Rent kayaks, buy camping supplies and drink some beer. Limited lunch menu but they have boiled peanuts.
Tomoka is an excellent park. The campground is good. The facilities are good and were clean. Good fishing. Canoeing tomoka river and streans and backwaters. I compleatly enjoy ehe park.
Very nice state park and friendly store renting canoes and kayaks. Very clean and friendly park where you can relax in quiet nature peace.
Went kayaking for an hour with the wifey. Came close up to a manatee. It was great.
