I’ve ordered here before and loved the food. However today I ordered the lox and egg sandwich on doordash. Went to pick up. Drove home and opened my bag. They forgot the egg. I paid $10 for a cold bagel and piece of tomato, which I hangry took a few bites only to regret not choosing Bagel Central. Doordash wouldn’t give me a refund.
I enjoyed my 1st visit to Nest today. Great customer service, amazing atmosphere, and delicious drinks (iced oat chai was awesome). And thank you for the stickers!!!!
Great service, amazing food. Lots of healthy options, try Green Monster smoothie with oat milk instead of orange juice, to die for! Bowls are delicious too!
The food is pretty good, worth the price. The problem is that they commonly forget to add extras when you ask for it, such as avacado on your breakfast sandwich. This wouldnt be as frustrating if it didnt cost extra money, though they will fix it if you tell them, but it happens quite frequently with me. Also kinda hard to place orders over the phone because they rarely pick up.
Love this little coffee shop. The homemade bagels are amazing, and creating a smoothie bowl is super fun.
Nest is a cute cozy cafe, with great food and drinks. the prices are extremely high, and the items over priced. the drinks are made with too much ice, so i recommend asking for light ice. otherwise i recommend going here for breakfast or brunch! the thai tea is my favorite!
Got a lox bagel sandwich as well as a pb chocolate smoothie bowl and both were fantastic; however, the person I was with got a regular breakfast sandwich and an extra side of bacon, and I immediately recognized the look and smell of the exact same brand of pre-cooked microwave bacon I buy at the store. For the price, microwaved anything is an enormous faux pas. Not only that, but according to him, flavor was basically nonexistent. Disappointing.
Tasty creative smoothie options - all vegan if youre into that kind of thing.
This is a fantastic little coffee shop. It might be the best in the area, word is bond. Stop in, and enjoy !
Been in twice before just to get a coffee and go, this was my first time sitting down. All 3 times the person behind the counter didnt know what a cafe au lait was but managed to get it right with an explanation. I was never much tempted to go in here despite being in downtown Orono on a nearly daily basis because from the street view the space looks really cramped, but it actually didnt feel that way when I finally parked myself at a table. In fact it was pretty comfortable with the pillows along the back of the built-in bench, and the table was huge. If I had one criticism of the atmosphere it would be that the ambient noise level was a little high, what with a fan, music, and all the noise of the kitchen equipment. I still thought the prices were a bit high and the vibe a little too lofty. But it is nice to have a place in downtown Orono to sit and get some work done besides the library.
Definitely a sweet spot right by campus to stop for breakfast! I got the chocolate pb banana smoothie bowl and it was really good! Matcha latte was pretty gross and chunky though! Overall, the staff was really friendly and the food was good. Love the aesthetic too, very cute place to sit and chat. My friend got the avocado toast with egg and liked it a lot!
It has a nice vibe if you were going on a small cute date with someone new but overall theres better options around for coffee shops. I prefer the Store Ampersand around the corner, its cheaper and just as good. But I do have to admit Nest smoothie bowls are great.
The drinks here are good (have not tried the food), but the service, availability of items, and noise could use improvement. During my most recent visit, even with 3 staff members working it took over 10 minutes to order our drinks. I initially wanted a decaf latte - I don’t expect every place to have decaf espresso so I was fine with that not being available. However, when I asked for regular decaf coffee, I was informed that it ran out earlier (on a Sunday morning) and they didn’t plan on making more. My friend asked for a maple latte and was told they were out of the flavor (even though it was written on the menu). The iced passion tea was good and I’ve had good coffee and tea drinks in the past. We neglected to stay due to the noise of the machines and the loud music playing.
Perfect little coffee shop!
Nest coffee is delicious.
Buy one get one chia teas today. That was a great yummy deal! Would so go back. Cute little coffee house with breakfast foods
I loved the atmosphere of the place and the variety of food as well.Nice staff! Definitely my favorite spot in Orono
Food and coffee were divine. Very cozy and trendy atmosphere. Lots of people. Great place to meet friends for coffee or a cupcake. My only issue was that it was uncomfortably warm. Typically, Im always chilly, but it was hot!
Great food and very nice space. However, the staff is very rude and seem like unhappy individuals. I’ve eaten at this establishment many times, because the food is so delicious, but I always end up questioning why I keep coming back. The staff always seem to be put out to do anything for you. Did they make your coffe incorrectly? Want a bag or box to carry your 4 sandwiches in? Did they forget an item you ordered? Be prepared for eye rolls and heavy sighs if you bring it to their attention. I have suggested The Nest to friends who now refuse to go back because of how unfriendly the staff is.The food is great if you can overlook the poor customer service.
Very nice spot, really enjoyed the match latte and avocado toast I got!
Cute little place, staffs are really friendly. I tried their passion tea and it was pretty good. I gave four-star because didnt try the food out yet. I will repost again once I taste the waffle.
Food was fine. Service was lacking and unprofessional. Bathroom was disgusting and made me question how dedicated the staff was to cleaning the rest of the establishment.
Nice and cozy coffee shop, just what the area needed. Great espresso drinks, coffee and tea. Not ideal for large groups, but great for small groups with comfortable seating for doing homework or just hanging out. We need more businesses like Nest in the area!
Good quality food an coffee, but prices a little steep relative to other restaurants in the area. Salmon avacado toast was excellent
Went in for breakfast. The menu is very limited but seemed like they had a good variety of smoothies.
Great place to get coffee
Employees not wearing masks. Turned around and left.
Cozy environment, friendly and helpful staff, quality food and drink!
Food is normally good and its a cute place but I sadly found not one but two curly black hairs in my smoothie bowl :/
Great breakfast. Small in size plan extra time for the wait but its worth it.
Staffs are so friendly and kind. I like their location and the lighting. But I was so nervous whenever someone ordered smoothies. The mixer sounded like it is exploding. Too loud like something is not right. Which made me leave the cafe.
Nice place to hang out and do homework. The coffee is good and they have a good baked goods selection.
Staff here are always rude. They dont make eye contact or say please and thank you or smile. I didnt even get a hello today. The girl stared at her iPad ignoring me until I asked if she was ready to take my order. Breakfast sandwiches are overpriced and they use microwave bacon and egg on it, no different than Dunkin.
Super cute coffee and treats with a fabulous and friendly staff! Coffee was excellent! Adorable, cozy spot to relax and stay warm!
Chill vibes and delicious smoothies.
Indifferently prepared hipster food in the middle of a wilderness. I had a latte and a yogurt-granola-fruit bowl and those were pretty good, but another person in my party had avocado toast (I know, I know) and there was a big honkin brown spot in the middle of it. Also I didnt get a real big Hi! Welcome to Nest!! kind of a vibe. Then we went to the general store down the street for a while and then I went back and got another latte. Latte number two was not a socks-knocker-offer. Now you have to consider whether you would trust a review from someone who coins a term like socks-knocker-offer.
So nice! It reminds me of madame puddifoots from Harry Potter, where Cho Chang and Harry go to eat. Only, nicer.
The staff seemed bored and distracted, chatting with each other and looking at their phones. The food is over priced. The blender for smoothies is extremely loud. I am a grad student and like to work in coffee shops but I will drive to Bangor when I’m in the mood for some coffee shop study time.
Their to go cups are astoundingly bad quality. I want my coffee inside my cup, not draining out onto my pants.
Ive been to Nest three times and each time my order has been either epically messed up or I needed to walk them through the process. For example, today I went got food (which was prepared wrong), but even more surprisingly when I ordered my single shot latte they ask, shot of what? Also, I got to coffee shops to hang out and relax so each time Ive frequented Nest I have specifically ordered For Here. In a mug please and each time I have received my drink in a togo cup.I could continue to tell of more mishaps (wrong drinks, employees not knowing basic drinks, dirty utensils, or hearing employees in the back speak of my husband when he had to return something), but I still really really want to like Nest. It is an absolutely beautiful little coffee shop, with all the right aesthetics, great location, a wide selection of milks (soy, almond, etc.) - which I greatly appreciate, gorgeous baked good, but unfortunately the employees have NO idea what they are doing. Please please please start listening to customers when they are ordering and pleeease train staff how to prepare basic hot drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, breves...).
The smoothie bowl was delicious, however the service was very unprofessional. Granted it was a bunch of high school girls, but they should have a little more commons sense. I said hello how are you and although I was greeted with a smile, there were no words. When I ordered my coffee, I was never asked if I wanted cream or sugar, & she filled it to the tippy top and so I had no room left for cream. They put the cream in behind the counter, so I had to go back up and ask. When I asked her to dump some out, I got a somewhat rude, confused look. And last, the environment there seems to be very “comfortable”. One could say, too comfortable. All the tables were dirty, and it wasn’t busy at all. The four girls sat their eating, on their phones, and gossiping about god knows what, maybe me, while I sat there and tried to enjoy my overrated açaí smoothie bowl. Definitely will not be back.
Nice little cafe in downtown Orono. Limited selection of snacks (at least when the University students were out of town)
Great coffee and great food.
Great food if you get there in time but the staff are rude and close early before 5pm. Wont give my business if Im being shooed out the door.
Good coffee and place to do your work or read.
Great food and atmosphere!
Pretty good
Best breakfast sandwich in town.
Very rude staff, would rather sit around and chit chat with each other than wait on customers. Will not be back.
Nice food
Adorable gem in Orono
Just ok
Cute, cozy, and delicious
Nothing special
